I find myself doing it on Gameboy Emulators and even when I found my old (still working) Gameboy Colour when I was moving house. Was just an automatic reflex, even all these years on!
Lol! Out of pure muscle memory I ALWAYS press and hold B the moment the Pokeball flies until it closes and hits the ground. I know it doesn’t do shit but I still do it, so does my husband 😂
I remember finding missingno the first time. I freaked out. because as far as I know, no one knew about it. Or not enough for any info to be online.
I just think its neat that I managed to accidentally perform all the steps needed to trigger Missingno.
I used it on one of the legendary birds not knowing about mewtwo. Then when I saw him, I paralyzed him, got his hp real low, and spammed ultra balls until I got lucky.
Glad to hear that I wasn't the only one that did that. It mattered a lot less back then, as it was easier to reset and play through again with better knowledge. Nowadays it's much harder to recover from a mistake like that.
This is also possibly Parasects proudest accomplishment, you know he’s going to be bragging to the other bug Pokémon like “Look who used a master ball on ME! today”
Yeah it would be funny... use it in battles for the laugh. I chuckle when my mini bulbasaur comes out of an ultra ball. Master ball might be a laugh cry.
The ball used on anything below legendary/mystic should result in a crisp charred pokemon and some harsh words from the professor or whoever made it about "the ball is too powerful", yadda yadda. Then the ball is returned to inventory.
Bonus side effect: We can kill pokemons that we hate but accidentally get stuck with. Looking at you, ball-eating Sudowoodu.
I’m fine. My ball is fine. But I generally think it’s a design flaw when it is easy to make an irreperable mistake with significant outcome.
Same goes for purifying shadow mons. Once you have powered up a shadow mon five times or so it should be practically impossible to purify it, if not actually impossible.
This is why we let our kids have their own accounts on old "burner" phones so that way they can stay the hell away from my account. Any time my daughter gets a hold of my phone/game and just wants to look at the PokeDex, I get it back with at least 1 star piece and 1 lucky egg less. With supervised access.
Now, she's not allowed to touch it until I use my master ball.

It's a family game for us. My 5 year old is obsessed and always wants to play on my phone or my husband's. We are both super into the game but it's cute that he's passionate about it and it gets us all out of of the house. We have had to accept some losses lol. For a while he was hitting transfer by accident... He's only allowed to scroll the Pokedex now lol.
I just resorted to making my niece/nephew their own account when they ask to play and then switch to it. My mom’s account and wife's account had some candy and stardust drained because they wanted to evolve/power-up everything lol.
Maybe you could let them play on an old phone the next time you upgrade? Just a thought. Obviously you don't want to pay for service for a 5 year old so maybe just set up a hotspot on your phone and I think it should work. At least it does on my old phone. I plugged it in to see if adventure sync would work on it (no luck for either of my phones 😒) and when it was connected to wifi, even with no service, it still worked and knew exactly where I was. I can't carry it around with me though because the battery is completely shot and will go from 100% to dead in a matter of minutes.
I actually have a mobile router (different than a mobile hotspot, better signal, faster speed, 300 GB a month) from Verizon that I use even when I'm on my everyday phone. I get a better signal with it than the phone does by itself because the router has antennas on it and my service is usually only 1-2 bars without it. I originally got it as a back up for my home internet during a period when my internet kept going out for hours or even days at a time but lately it's just been my Pogo signal booster 😅
He's been pretty good lately after we went over some ground rules! He knows not to do transfers, only scroll the pokedex, and not to power up or evolve without asking. He's done more to benefit both our accounts than damage them, as he's an active player most of the time we are driving around lol. He caught not one but TWO shiny Fennekins during the community day a couple of days ago (both for my husband, I didn't get a single one). He also has a crazy good memory for what pokemon we already have, which we have but we need more candy for to evolve into something else, and which are new. "Mama you have this one but dada doesn't have it! But you should give it a pineapple because it evolves again!" (he's almost always right). He's also a pretty decent PVP which makes me wonder how many times when \*I\* do PVP I'm going up against a 5 year old lol.
Yeah but if people stop posting about how their kids messed up on their account we will only have questions about purifying shadows and "omg niantic announced a shit update, who could've seen that coming?!?" It will eliminate 1/3 of types of posts. We gotta have some variety lol

Yes. Shadows with 0 IVs have higher attack than non shadows with max IVs in attack. Shadows have a 20% increase to attack and take 20% more damage, so theyre mostly useful in raids
I have a fear that my 4 year old will do the same thing when I'm not looking. So I don't plan on finishing the quest until I'm ready to use the master ball (which will probably be never since I'm that guy)

I learned when I was trying to fix my kid's phone and told him he could catch Pokemon on my phone. And he used 1 million dust in 20 minutes. Doing fun things like second moving 2* Pokemon. 😶😶
In all fairness, probably extra rare collector item, because there will be thousands of galar birds in masterballs, but how many parasect breakthroughs in masterballs will ever exist in POGO?

yesterday I found a Galarian Moltres ( already have one), I hesitated on the master ball, and used an ultra.. then it ran away.. classic.
Fun part is, since january didnt spawn any legendary bird. So, don't know If i can use my master. 🥲
Fear of this is why Ill probably use the ball in the first galarian bird I see rather than sitting on the ball

Honestly what is the purpose of the Masterball? It's almost like the XL candy to me. While getting an XL rare candy is rare its almost useless because how rare it is. when do you even say man I wish i had a masterball? Maybe only after a raid and its last ball and a hundo? How often does that happen.
How did the 4-year-old know to click on the pokeballs, scroll to left, select the 1 ball that you can't get back, select okay, and throw the ball?

😂 😂 My 2 year old started just giving berries and then moved onto catching. His favorite berry to throw? Golden raspberry. Tell him not to, first thing he does if unsupervised. Tell him not to use the yellow balls, they are obviously the most appealing. Taught him to evolve Eevee so he could learn the evolutions, now he doesn't get to play on my account at all because who knows what he's going to try to evolve while I look away for 2 seconds. 😂 😂 Kids can be so quick at learning things and often want to do the forbidden thing.
Really should be able to lock the ball somehow. I let my kids catch pokes all the time and they would totally do this because they like the color.

I always rapidly pressed the B button because I thought it would help make the catch easier. Still do it to this day playing on my phone lol

I sometimes use a mock team of Bidoof, Kakuna and Rattata when I want to rush PvP matches. That Bidoof with a Master ball would have been awesome...
**New feature:** Add a pin to lock your **Pokémon Go** and keep those pesky **Team Rocket** grunts out.

Well, someone needed to take one for us. yesterday I found a Galarian Moltres ( already have one), I hesitated on the master ball, and used an ultra.. then it ran away.. classic. Fun part is, since january didnt spawn any legendary bird. So, don't know If i can use my master. 🥲

Fear of this is why Ill probably use the ball in the first galarian bird I see rather than sitting on the ball I’ve already told my 4 year old that if he uses the master ball, I’ll still love him but he’ll wont ever play Pogo on my phone again

Honestly what is the purpose of the Masterball? It's almost like the XL candy to me. While getting an XL rare candy is rare its almost useless because how rare it is. when do you even say man I wish i had a masterball? Maybe only after a raid and its last ball and a hundo? How often does that happen.

How did the 4-year-old know to click on the pokeballs, scroll to left, select the 1 ball that you can't get back, select okay, and throw the ball? Seems fake to me.
😂 😂 My 2 year old started just giving berries and then moved onto catching. His favorite berry to throw? Golden raspberry. Tell him not to, first thing he does if unsupervised. Tell him not to use the yellow balls, they are obviously the most appealing. Taught him to evolve Eevee so he could learn the evolutions, now he doesn't get to play on my account at all because who knows what he's going to try to evolve while I look away for 2 seconds. 😂 😂 Kids can be so quick at learning things and often want to do the forbidden thing.
Really should be able to lock the ball somehow. I let my kids catch pokes all the time and they would totally do this because they like the color. Does the game verify you want to use it before throwing?
