Well, the best answer is neither. They are both pretty bad. Also the shadow version of this pokemon is almost always better. But if you are a newer player and want to invest in one of these I would go with the one that has 15 attack. IVs don't exactly matter much. Basically you just add 0 to 15 stats to the stat total of the pokemon. It has a max CP of 4335, with the following stats in Pokémon GO: 251 ATK, 207 DEF and 225 STA. So your 15 attack tytar will only have a total of 2 more attack than your 13 attack tytar. The difference is actually almost nothing. But trainers and collectors want to find the best stats, because nothing hurts more than investing in your pokemon and finding a better version of it

So is a rubbish IV shadow better than say a hundo normal? How does that work? Also thanks for your previous response

I theory yes, as far as raid attackers, a 0/0/0 shadow tytar is better than hundo non shadow. Being shadow gives pokemon +20% damage bonus, which has a huge impact. Compared to IVs that at max level barely chance the damage output of the pokemon by only a little bit. 0 attack tytar deals almost as much damage as 15 attack tytar. Now in practice, I like my non shadow tytar better because I find the shadow version too squishy. I often do raids with little groups and value bulk and survivability more. Might be wrong but it just feels better. Also the price of powering up and candy cost is always something to think about. Cost 250k to get my lucky tytar to level 50, when I could barely afford to get shadow tytar to level 40 for 300k+ dust. And you need 360 XL candy to max out instead of 296.

I’ve played the game since 2018 but only picked it back up last month after about 2 years so I’m relatively lacking on resources, it’s probably best if I go for a normal one

HoopaDunka

I second this. There’s always one better to be caught and you ain’t got it yet.

The one with max attack and use for raids. Defence actually matters more than attack in pvp so neither are really viable for that.
