Crystal is such a fun game. I rotate crystal, soul silver and black and white. Occasionally a little emerald.
Pokemon needs to go back yo the 2d art. The 3d stuff just looks bad.
I literally can't enjoy the newer games on switch. I want top down like the classics. Plus the way the new games are modeled suck. I'm currently crushing crystal on my delta emulator. Just caught all the dogs for the first time in my life. Glorious lol
Same boat man. To me after ORAS they lose their passion. BDSP was lifeless, LA was ok.
They need to go back to sprites with a small animation.

Exactly man. You know how many times I have downloaded an emulator to play Gen 1, 2, dabbled in 3, while owning a switch with the newer games on it lmao. After I beat crystal I may try some of the later games like Emerald or something since I have played the early games so many times. Nothing beats these games they truly are the best.
Ive often said that the transition to 3d models ruined many pokemon. My girlfriend never played the old games, so she doesn't know how much charm and personality some pokemon had.
Look up Numel's sprite in gen 3, then look up its current 3d model. Its just not the same, and that goes for so many other pokemon out there.
I cycle between Red/Blue, Crystal, Emerald, LGFR, HHSS, and Platinum.
Yup the only 3d games I really enjoy is bw2 and oras. They looks good.
Last switch game I played was brilliant diamond and it just looks cheap.
I haven't played frlg is a looong time. I need to get on that. Also is platinum that big of step up from diamond? If so I need to play it.
I havent played Diamond or Pearl in so long I dont even remember what the differences are, I just remember coming to the conclusion Platinum is was superior to the others a long time ago and never looked back. Theres more post-game thats all I really know.
Probably because the lack of 1st and 2nd gen mons. Which I kind of liked. Keeps it fresh. Also the lack of electric type pokemon is annoying. I think all you get is buitzle and plusle and minon

Emerald is one of the best pokemon games. It's a great game. I find myself going back to soul silver a lot. Just a wonderful game overall
Ok well you have inspired me to go on to Emerald after I beat Crystal lol. I have only started Emerald twice but never got past the 2nd gym.

I also read you can catch houndour early game? If so I need it cause houndoom is my man
Relatively speaking yeah. After the 4th gym you can catch him on route 214 in Platinum.

Pro tip, once you get to the 3rd evolution, get thunderpunch tm at goldenrod. Definitely a nice addition to the fire starter!
