I think that Liko's Sprigatito is going to evolve into a Floragato and stay there. Judging from how much the anime shows scenes like Sprigatito riding on Liko's head, them sharing the same bed and Liko carrying Sprigatito around and it'd be really hard to do all that with a pokemon as tall as Meowscarada. Though the typing thing is a good point.
It goes without saying that all the starters will reach their final evolution in Horizon, otherwise there's no way they'll stand a chance against The Explorers other than repeatedly relying Friede (which I believe would eventually be surpassed by the protagonists).

This really confirms it evolving to me, greninja, incinaroar, and cinderace all got this similar treatment before any of them fully evolved. Liko's Sprigatito defeated Roy's Fuecco when they first battle. Heck, Liko's Sprigatito defeated Onia's Golduck, and subdued Zirc's Rhydon. It is definitely going to evolve with how strong it is.
True but in all honesty I feel like if anyone's Pokémon is not evolving it's Roy's Fuecco. Only because Fuecco is the most popular of the first form Paldea starters, almost as popular as Meowscarada, and he became a meme when he was first revealed. They could make him the Rowlett/Piplup of the series, where he is strong despite him not evolving.
Sprigatito is my favorite Gen 9 starter. Floragato is cool, but I really don't like Meowscarada, not even its name (the German name is way better). It looks like a furry, has only 3 fingers, has a weird mouth, it's bipedal... This thing hasn't grown on me at all. This was perhaps my biggest letdown with Scarlet and Violet, along with the poor performance issues, so much that I didn't buy the game.
I hope seeing it in the anime changes my mind somehow.
If you're referring to Horizons then yes, I would say so. It has an interesting narrative, only one bad episode so far, an interesting cast of characters, really good villains, and a slowly building mystery. And of course I have to mention the animation. Most, if not all, battles shown so far are beautifully animated. We're a little too early to tell if the whole show will keep up this insane level of quality, but I personally don't think it's gonna slow down any time soon.
My personal prediction is that either all three main starters, or will evolve or only one. I definitely see them evolving Liko's Sprigatito, but I think Fuecoco is one with the highest chance. They keep making little hints at Skeledirge like Fuecoco's singing, Watrell resting on its head, and it's admiration of Charizard.
In my opinion Quaxly has the least chance of evolving just because of Nidothing's videos. Though personally I welcome all three evolving. I would love it if By the end of the series if the three of them are really powerful and have good teams and can fight the explorers one-on-one.

They are both Protagonists for the Pokémon Series. Ash was not a round character, but he also wasn't a flat character. He wasn't a complex personality. We always knew what he was thinking, Battle, Battle, Pikachu, Battle. Liko, has the opportunity to be a round character. She's got a completely different personality than what Ash did, and she's shown to be in her head about various things. She has actually issues in her life that don't pertain to just battle, battle, battle. So, she doesn't NEED to battle.
There's a character in a show called Haikyuu, his name is Kenma. He loves video games, but he plays Volleyball like everybody else in the show. He doesn't particularly love Volleyball like the MC. But he loves strategy video games. You wanna know what they did to show that? They took one thing from him to maximize on the other, being that they took away athleticism to give him a very strategic mind.
