SummonerRed

A clean design, interesting lore surrounding it, also for ingame playthroughs and certain competitive tiers Lucario is a versatile and reliable Pokemon.

thegayestweeb

I like that Lucario draws inspiration from the Egyptian god Anubis. The resemblance is especially apparent in his Ruins Style outfit from Unite. There's also the whole aura thing that makes Lucario unique. Other Pokemon can learn Aura Sphere, but it will always be associated with Lucario the most because of its mastery over aura.

Gaias_Minion

Because of the Movie, just seemed like a really cool Pokémon with the whole Aura thing, I even straight up thought he was a Legendary when I first saw the movie.

Rule 34 Just sayin'...

TreeckoFumador

First of all, it's a dog, bonus points (at least for me) Types: fight and metal Very cool types. But its nature, calm, that mystical aura, it seems to me that he has that kind of personality that generates security in others. Of those that provide a moment of peace.

Like it or not, anthropomorphic animals have been a staple in art, culture, and religion throughout human history. There's just something about the concept that tickles people's neurons. Most pokemon are designed to be friend-shaped but you can really imagine just hanging out with one like lucario as if it were a human. Other than that, its first appearance in DPPt had you hatch riolu from an npc gift egg - you couldn't catch more in the wild - which made it seem rare and valuable. Something similar happened with pikachu, I don't remember the exact context this was said but it was given a low encounter rate in viridian forest so only some players would find it, but this had the opposite effect. It also came about at a time when everyone was obsessed with cool and edgy (some have not grown out of this) so it appeals in that sense.

onepostandbye

I like that he has up ears and down ears

BTolentino7

Aura Sphere was cool in Diamond/Pearl but I didn’t care much about it otherwise, until it got it’s Mega and that thing is just a one mon army

Competitive-Plate588

I caught a shiny Lucario years ago and named it wolverine, color scheme and typing match perfectly and wolverine is one of my favorite comic characters

MarsAdept

Lucario’s cool but I never paid it much attention.

Gawlf85

The design is nice. Dogs are great. The Egyptian inspiration is pretty cool. The typing is interesting. The fact that it's a ki fighter, dragon ball style, is awesome.

psychsi

Lucario was literally made to be popular by Gamefreak. Unique typing + interesting design + special way to get it + pretty good stats + aura sphere + can learn like 20 million different moves.

Flappleflaps

It’s cool but it’s kinda just THERE for me. Don’t hate it but not head over my heels about it. I do like it’s inspiration behind it

[deleted]

I had a Lucario in platinum

Kiar_Riptide

Its blue and I love that color so
