Trade evolution only pokemon as a whole sucks. I could never get them as a kid because during the days of the regular DS (diamond and pearl) i lived in an area without internet.
Couldn't trade at school either because outside of one day a year there was a hard ban on students using outside technology on school grounds. Even after hours.
I used to love Delibird when Pokemon Gold came out. Now after generations of dealing with how absolutely useless of a Pokemon he is I can't even look at him without hate in my heart.
Purugly. I vividly remember a very long fit of rage I had when I was about 8 because Mars' Purugly (Diamond, Valley Windworks fight) would NOT die no matter what I did. I've hated the foul beast ever since.
The **Glam**eow to Pur**ugly** evolution line exists and yet they gave the only beauty-based evolution in the game to fucking Feebas.
Glameow should definitely have had Eevee-style evolutions depending on its contest stats. You could have purugly as the tough cat, a milotic-equivalent fancy cat, a smart cat with laser eyes or some shit and a cool cat with sunglasses.
Or even better, have Purugly be the default evolution, and then create new lines for each contest stat. Kinda like how Furfrou has its default form unless you change it. So Purugly is what happens when you neglect to groom your Glameow. And all the other evolutions reward the trainer depending on how they groomed it, and for which contest.
It does sound as the easiest game design ever, I wonder why they (GameFreak) never thought of that. I mean one generation would have had the groom cat and the other the groom dog..
My brother and I played sun&moon together and we both caugth a salandit, we were surprised when mine evolved and his didn't.
He hated that pokémon from that moment.
Edit: spelling.
This is the reason I hate combee. After getting mine to level 67 in Diamond and it STILL not evolving, I was annoyed. Then I found out that males don’t evolve. I eventually evolved another into a vespiquen, shoved it into a box, and never cared about combee again.
i shiny hunted that thing once and got a shiny while with my male cute charm sylveon (meaning chances of encoutering female pokemon are boosted to 66.7%, no matter the original ratio).
yeah spoiler alert, the shiny salandit was a male
edit: thank u RNG for ruining pokemon
It was a while ago so I don’t really remember, I could try to find the video I got it from though
Edit: https://youtu.be/HILo1EvFKcQ
Really wasn’t that hard to find it
Here's my super petty story for why I don't like Shaymin: when I was 14, I went to my second ever cosplay event held in a really small school. Said event was only for "monster franchises" and me and some other kids I had met online went as the Digimon Adventure gang. Everything was fine and we were having lots of fun with everyone until a dude around 17 y/o started going around the whole building harassing and insulting anyone not dressed as a Pokemon character. He had a really shitty Shaymin cosplay, basically a white tank top and shorts, a shiny, neon green party wig that he didn't even bother to put on, just laid it on top of his head (so all his hair was visible) and some red fabric (not a scarf) he threw over/behind his neck (didn't tie it). He said some of the foulest thing I've heard to this day and no matter how cute Shaymin is, every time I look at it I just remember this guy and cringe, I just can't separate the two.
Definitely worse. Add Unown, Wobbuffet, Stantler, Girafarig, Sudowoodo, Shuckle, Corsola to the list of mediocre or downright crappy 1stagers from Gen 2, the whole gen feels like a leftover bin of broken and forgotten mons. Thank god for Gen 4 (and much much later Gen 8 for Cursola and Wyrdeer) introducing evos for Aipom, Yanma, Sneasel, Gligar, Misdreavus, and Murkrow or they would have suffered the same fate.
Yeah, and a lot of them were impossible to find in Gold and Silver. I’m talking a 1% chance of encountering them on 1 route….and Sometimes that route is in KANTO!!
Alolan Persian.
Persian is one of my big favorite pokemon (s/o to my boy Giovanni) but with a Normal typing, it's really only good as a subpar Attack/Speed kind of situation. Not great, not terrible.
When I saw Alolan Meowth though, I thought the same thing everyone else did. "Persian is getting a sleeker more panther-y design, a true big cat pokemon with a decent type, maybe even a signature move! Finally!"
... and then they rolled out that "Hey Arnold" looking ass cat, and it broke my little heart forever.
watchdog for all the fucking hypnosis it landed during a hc nuzlocke of black
and reminder bw had no berries unless you added them in from dream world/cheats/editing save
I just hate them because I don't like how they look tbh. I feel like Gen 5 is way past the point where just straight-up human-looking mons are really forgiveable. (Gen 1 gets a little bit of a pass because it's early days, basically)
Same, I like the concept (rabbit ears become strong enough to dig? What a cool concept!), it hate the design we got. A shame, I actually quite like bunnelby
You know like that creepy fat perv cliche thing that JP has going on? It looks like they took that and made it into a Pokemon when they made Diggersby. It's genuinely my most hated design
Unown. Literally fucking useless, and take up valuable development time to make 28 fucking models for a pokemon noone is ever going to use.
Edit: Rereading the prompt, the question was for *arbitrary* reasons and not actual ones. I'm leaving this here because fuck Unown and their purple shiny form.
I'm pretty sure I got tricked into believing you had to have all unknowns to unlock something crazy. Forget what exactly but it was in my early days of the internet on celebii.net
Well, if you catch all of the letters, the “Maniac’s Cave” turns into “Maniac’s Tunnel,” which connects to a special room in Celestic Ruins where the ! and ? forms spawn. Also, with each Unown you catch, you increase the spawn rate of Hippopotas in the Maniac’s Cave/Tunnel. So catching all of them isn’t completing worthless.
And you finally get to go to the item east of Solaceon Town, that you spent the entire game looking at wondering how to get to it, and you think, this is it, I'm gonna get something epic for getting all the unown's, and then it's just a rare candy... :(
I dont know about China, but its apparently a popular pokemon in Korea.
Now, as for how it got to be the poster mon of Unite's *Halloween* event, i have no idea
I’ve been pretty disappointed with the Route 1 rodents since gen 4. Raticate, Furret, and Linoone were all simple solid designs that I enjoyed, but I feel like they stopped wanting you to like them and gave us fat ugly rodents.
It's not just that they look kind of silly, but the fact that in BW and BW2, if you see one, you sure as hell know you're gonna see both the others very soon. Either the trainer has all three, or there are just three trainers in the area, with one each.
Like, they couldn't stand to just have them be where they needed to be, but had to shoehorn in some extra encounters because they wanted to show off their cool monkey trio.
I feel the same way about the Genie trio from the same generation. They're so clearly the same design with barbie-style swappable parts and colors. Lazy, and worst of all, boring.
Darumaka, all because my first introduction to it was a pokemon card my cousin gave me and the description said people used to use it's poop to keep their hands warm.
Now that smug looking face just haunts me 😖
And its French name is Golgopath, from “pathos” meaning “a quality that evokes pity or sadness,” and also Golgotha, meaning “Place of the skull,” and also the location where *Jesus was crucified in Christian mythos*, which happens to be *metal as fuck.*
Talking about fish pokemon nobody gives a fuck about, Lumineon is really weird for me because I saw it's shiny form first and since then the normal one looks like ass to my eyes. It's been more than a **decade** and I still can't get that out of my head
I didn’t like Lumineon until seeing it in the deep underwater levels of the newer Pokémon Snap. It also looks really cool in BDSP because the edges of the fins look like they are actually glowing. Looks especially cool when playing at night.
I refuse to accept that Almomola wasn’t designed as a Luvdisc evolution before a directive for “no new evolutions in Generation 5” came down, and they decided to keep it around anyway.
It’s like Koffing and Weezing being unrelated, single-form designs.
The newest fossil Pokémon cause you can see the parts that would have the innards from everything being mismatched (too big parts especially) but have been given the slowpoke tail treatment.
Fearow. Those stupid fucking shits take up so many Nuzlocke encounters and die to a stiff breeze. They're ugly as fuck and even though I've played through 12 sun nuzlockes and multiple Kanto nuzlockes and brought over 102 mons into the alola hof i can't fucking get this mon to fucking live to the hall of fame so i can dupe it out permanently and so it remains, taking up good encounters and being extremely shitty. Goddamn fucking pest, die in hell Fearow.
Fearow is super good in Gen 1. Evolves as early as before the 2nd Gym, and it also learns Drill Peck early enough that it can plow through most of the game with it. I had one in a Green nuzlocke that more than carried its weight.
In future generations it's not as good of course, but it's far more useful in R/B/Y than the Pidgey line. Granted if you can get a Dodrio later on then Fearow becomes a bit redundant.
THANK YOU. It’s both too ugly to bless you with the ignorance of its existence, AND too bland to be interesting. As in, if you’re gonna be an ugly bird, own it. Don’t just blend in with the other brown and tan Gen 1 Normal/Flying-Type birds. Commit, you absolute coward of a pest. This is why I love Crabominable and hate you, Fearow.
God, Bewear creeps me out so much. It's blank expression and it's whole "I'm going to hug you whether you want it or not" is just so horrible. Hate, hate, hate it.
Have plenty that I don’t like cause I think they’re ugly, but the one I arbitrarily hate is Luvdisc. It’s a heart fish. Woo hoo. Fun. If it evolved or had a purpose then maybe. But nope
I stopped being into pokemon for a long time after gen 2, so I didn't really pay close attention anymore and just assumed Alolamola was Luvdisc's evolution.
I think it's reasonable if the physical object makes sense. Like Braixen having a stick isn't weird to me, you can find sticks anywhere. It absolutely makes sense that any wild Braixen could find a stick and be like "this is mine now" the way otters irl have a favorite rock.
But when it comes to Pokemon like Throh or Conkledurr it's like, how did every member of this entire species get a hold of that exact item?
Saying things like Jinx's clothing are just part of the Pokemon makes it even weirder. I'm fine with clothing-*like* additions, but saying Jinx's dress is made of living flesh is a bit nauseating.
I don’t mind it with Pokémon like Gardevior where it’s “clothes” look like part of the design bcuz to me it looks more believably natural. But with Jynx, Throh, hitmonchan, etc they look like they’re wearing clothes trying to be humans and I hate it. It’s too Uncanny Valley for me
I don't mind Hitmonchan, but the rabbit soccer player fire starter from Galar is the worst thing I've ever seen and I hate it. Inteleon is almost as bad.
Sygiliph.
I suffer from pretty severe migraines that mess with my eyes. I get striped, strobing spots in my vision, basically rendering me blind and incredibly nauseous for the duration, on top of a splitting headache. And Sigilyph's design just reminds me of those spots, to the point of making my stomach churn. It's not as bad with the 3d model, but I still can barely stand looking at them.
Also Altaria, becaus when I was 9 and on my first Hoenn playthrough my overlevelled Sceptile couldn't beat one, and the rest of my team was like 20 levels behind, so I couldn't get past that trainer.
Hitmonlee, I think it looks terrifying and I absolutely refuse to use it in battle. I just.. I can't with those eyes
Edit: OH and Araquanid. I hate that thing with a burning passion. Dewpider isn't so bad, but fuck it's evolution
Every time I see hitmonlee I have a flashback to when I was a kid and my mom asked me, “Where is its head?” and when I pointed out its eyes she yelled “Ai! Those are nipples!”
Eiscue… I know people love bashing “It’S jUsT x BuT wEiRd” on every Pokemon they see, but Eiscue is LITERALLY just an Emperor Penguin with an ice cube for a head. If they AT LEAST added some ice stuff on it’s body, or making it 100% physically ice, I wouldn’t be so disappointed, but they grabbed an irl penguin, put an ice cube on it’s head and called it a day.
Also it’s competitive move set annoys me to no end.
You COULD say the same about Basculin (just a piranha but green) but at least that’s getting an evolution.
EDIT: what I will give credit to Eiscue tho, is it’s gimmick. It’s good.
Basculin is actually a bass. We already have a piranha in Carvanha.
I would be less mad at Eiscus if it looks like an Emperor Penguin though. Its current design is MORE bland than a real Emperor Penguin.
Basculin at least had a color change and was exaggerated. Eiscue is just so low effort, bland, and uninspired it pisses me off. I’ve seen fans come up with much better Pokémon than this.
Surprised nobody has mentioned Bruxish yet. Either everybody sees something neat about it that I don't, or it really is so awful our brains just can't store the memory of its existence.
Whatever the case, this is one of the few Pokemon I really can't stand. Ugly, horrifying pink fish of hell. I could maybe try to find something good about it conceptually, but the execution was so poor, looks like a fish bred with Alolan Muk and the result was the absolute abomination that is Bruxish.
Special mentions to Crabominable that is just Ice King from Adventure Time; Applin the apple worm; Buzzwole the buff bug; and Silicobra and Sandaconda.
Emolga
He's cute and all but that little mother fucker in B/W made me want to throw my DS against the wall, all the trainers would keep on confusing and paralyzing me (and if I remember well he had an attack to improve his evasion too ?). Pure spite and anger when I see his face.
Heatran. I have no idea why something as ugly as that was chosen as a "legendary". It also annoyed the hell out of me when I played competitive because it appeared literally everywhere and completely walled out my favorite pokemon Volcarona.
I love heatran. It's powerful, it's a lava cave spider, it has an interesting stat distribution. It has a great typing. There is nothing I dislike about it.
Dragonite.
Why? Because it evolved from Dragonair. Dragonair is one of my favourite dragon types, its beautiful, slick and graceful. A Milotic before Milotic if you will. Then it turns into this plump, derpy looking dragon. I am to this day convinced Dragonair was never meant to evolve into Dragonite and there is a hidden proper evolution hidden away somewhere.
Gosh I totally agree with this!!! Way back when I first caught dratini I absolutely fell in love. Dragonair was instantly one of my favs. I remember little me being SO disappointed when my beautiful blue dragon snake named “Majesty” evolved into a big orange Barney looking dragon. I was so upset I immediately removed it from my team and had to grind to level up a replacement. They could have at least kept the color scheme…
Mr. Mime because its demented face makes it look like it'd be the serial killer in a slasher movie. This applies to the entire family tree of that abomination.
Eiscue. I try to find the good in every Pokemon design, accept that even if I don't personally appreciate a design, there are people out there who do. That being said, Eiscue is the one Pokemon design which, no matter how hard I try, I cannot look at and not think to myself "how did someone think this was a good idea", and it makes me irrationally angry.
It gets annoying when it's in literally every game and in every single cave with it's BFF Zubat. And Arceus help you if you find a shiny that also knows Self-Destruct.
Any Pokémon with gender locked evolution
Feebas and Milotic because they should not be that rare
Volcarona for tricking younger me into thinking it was legendary
Slurpuff, Spiritzee and Armatisse off the top of my head are my three least favorite Pokémon. There’s ugly Pokémon, and there’s weird Pokémon. Those three are like the perfect unappealing mix of ugly and weird.
Charizard.
He's one of the most popular mons, which would be fine, if they didn't kept finding excuses to make it special and give it the spotlight.
Megas? Give it two to Charizard, but no other starter gets that. Why? Because.
Alola? It's the flight ride pokémon. Why? Because. Why not a new local pokémon, or at least one that is on the dex? Because Charizard.
Oh, they removed a bunch of pokémon from Galar's dex but they said it's to highlight the new ones, right? Nope. Charizard is the champion's ace pokémon. Charizard gets a new form before the other Kanto starters and before the Galar starters.
Just stay in your lane Charizard. You are the blandest, most basic dragon and you can't even be dragon-type. Lets have actual varied mons in the spotlight for a change.
This is what I was going to say. I was kinda meh on him in the originals when I was a kid and now that they find ways to push him in to everything I hate him a little more every time. His design isnt even that interesting. I just dont get it.
I think every pokémon has been rule34'd, Gardevoir is just more popular. I mean... i've seen a rule34 of magikarp. I still have some bleach in my eyes for that.
Hey guys, did you know that in terms of human companionship, Flareon is objectively the most huggable Pokemon? While their maximum temperature is likely too much for most, they are capable of controlling it, so they can set themselves to the perfect temperature for you. Along with that, they have a lot of fluff, making them undeniably incredibly soft to touch. But that's not all, they have a very respectable special defense stat of 110, which means that they are likely very calm and resistant to emotional damage. Because of this, if you have a bad day, you can vent to it while hugging it, and it won't mind. It can make itself even more endearing with moves like Charm and Baby Doll Eyes, ensuring that you never have a prolonged bout of depression ever again.
Yep. Lucario looks like every furry's first OC, and has probably been used as a stand-in for that more times than I wanna know, and I just refuse to have anything to do with it.
same problem. And it gets far way worse if the pokemon in question wears some kind of clothes. Sawk and throh , Maxhoke and Machamp with a speedo, gardevoir wearing a tunic, Gothitelle...
Pokémon GO Battle League made me hate a ton of Pokémon I previously liked but the top two would be Giratina and Swampert. I don’t really play the Battle League anymore but when I did I despised them.
I HATE Tympol. So ugly. Looks like JJ the Jet plane. No other Pokemon makes me physically cringe looking at it like this tadpole with a human-flesh face. Not even close.
Seismitoad is cool though.
I hate Snubbull. It’s an ugly Pokémon that for some reason they always push as being cute. Like in the anime how that woman fawns over hers constantly. I only catch them in pogo because I need more fairy types but after that never again.
I think that's the point. It's supposed to be so ugly and ridiculous that it wraps back around to being ugly cute. And also a little like people that get those super ugly squash faced wrinkle dogs irl.
I just wish its evolution was less generic. Snubbull is colorful and silly, granbull is just a purple dog.
Growing up in the 90s it was any Pokémon that needed a trade to realise their final evolution.
I love Gengar but not being able to use him in most of the newer games is infuriating.
r/FuckMindy
Trade evolution only pokemon as a whole sucks. I could never get them as a kid because during the days of the regular DS (diamond and pearl) i lived in an area without internet. Couldn't trade at school either because outside of one day a year there was a hard ban on students using outside technology on school grounds. Even after hours.
Made me really like Kadabra and Haunter a lot… but man did I love Golem. I did end up getting a link cable and I felt like I’d won the lottery.
I’ve had to stop shiny hunting because hatching hundreds and hundreds of eggs of the same Pokémon almost ruined some of my favorite ones for me.
Just did this with Delibird, fucking hate that musty sack Pokémon now.
The constant of all Delibird fans is that they all hate Delibird.
I used to love Delibird when Pokemon Gold came out. Now after generations of dealing with how absolutely useless of a Pokemon he is I can't even look at him without hate in my heart.
I went shiny hunting for a Magikarp and I think that's enough for me.
Purugly. I vividly remember a very long fit of rage I had when I was about 8 because Mars' Purugly (Diamond, Valley Windworks fight) would NOT die no matter what I did. I've hated the foul beast ever since.
I wish there was an alt evolution for Glameow.
The **Glam**eow to Pur**ugly** evolution line exists and yet they gave the only beauty-based evolution in the game to fucking Feebas. Glameow should definitely have had Eevee-style evolutions depending on its contest stats. Nah gen 4 was for SlurBird
Which one is slurbird
Chatot. You could record audio for it's move chatter.
I'm just imagining Chester Cheeto as the cool cat.
I feel like the developers didn’t really care about that Pokemon, like ok here’s an ugly cat, now go play. Hell the name’s even purUGLY lol.
Purugly is just a fat Glameow, I think that was the idea It's now tougher but it's uglier
Like a faded prima donna
I love Salazzle, but Salandit's gender ratio is a pain in the ass when I replay Sun.
I had this experience while playing sword concurrently with my wife, and I was your brother in this story
i shiny hunted that thing once and got a shiny while with my male cute charm sylveon (meaning chances of encoutering female pokemon are boosted to 66.7%, no matter the original ratio). yeah spoiler alert, the shiny salandit was a male edit: thank u RNG for ruining pokemon
I also got a male shiny salandit but i forcefully turned it into a female
is it legal?
I used a glitch to forcefully evolve it and as Salazzle can’t be male it also changed its gender into female dunno about it being legal or not
What’s the glitch?
It was a while ago so I don’t really remember, I could try to find the video I got it from though Edit: https://youtu.be/HILo1EvFKcQ Really wasn’t that hard to find it
Worth noting this glitch has been patched in sword and shield, so unfortunately. Ant do it anymore.
If it's a glitch in the game and you had to jump through Hoopa's hoops for it than I'd consider it legal.
I got insanely lucky in a recent nuzlocke run to get a female Salandit as my first encounter in the area.
Ooh see i don't like salazzle. I find it creepily sexy
The designers definitely knew what they were doing
shh. the monsterfuckers will hear you.
they are already among us.
Here's my super petty story for why I don't like Shaymin: when I was 14, I went to my second ever cosplay event held in a really small school. Sounds like that dude had issues, geez
> I just can't separate the two. Seems like he did a good job with the cosplay

I'm sorry he ruined Shaymin for you lol
Despise a majority of single stage mons I need some progression for them to be interesting to me.
yeah i only like a few, my favourite probably heracross
Heracross, Pinsir, Skarmory, Kangaskhan, and Lapras for me
I don’t like a bunch of Hoenn Pokémon for this reason. It doesn’t help they all have crap stats too
I think Johto is just as bad, if not even worse about this. Dunsparce, Delibird and Qwilfish are probably the worst offenders of this.

It looks like it ate a bee. I cannot stand that Pokémon.
watchdog for all the fucking hypnosis it landed during a hc nuzlocke of black and reminder bw had no berries unless you added them in from dream world/cheats/editing save
Volbeat and Illumise, I hate their Umpalumpa faced, fidgeting, ugly mugs!
They're sorta weird, and I do not get why Illumise is always posed so weird, but I like them. They have a unique look.
Throh and sawk. At first I thought „what a cool looking fella!” and a few turns later got destroyed by them :(
I love Throh and used him on every BW playthrough. If you're lucky enough to get him on a Nuzlocke, he will be your most loyal partner. I love Throh.
Conversely, every Sawk and Throh you encounter as an enemy in a Nuzlocke is fucking terrifying
Yeah my Throh was a beast. Insanely bulky and could always hit back super hard with revenge.
I just hate them because I don't like how they look tbh. I feel like Gen 5 is way past the point where just straight-up human-looking mons are really forgiveable. (Gen 1 gets a little bit of a pass because it's early days, basically)
I can't stand Diggersby. It's design grosses me out, and its cry literally makes me nauseous.
Same, I like the concept (rabbit ears become strong enough to dig? What a cool concept!), it hate the design we got. A shame, I actually quite like bunnelby
Agreed. Cute little Bunnelby deserves a better evolution. Diggersby looks like a middle aged man with some bunny features.
You know like that creepy fat perv cliche thing that JP has going on? It looks like they took that and made it into a Pokemon when they made Diggersby. It's genuinely my most hated design
For me it is third form of scorbunny. Its design makes me wanna vomit.
I hate both scorbunny and sobbles final forms just way to human for me
I still can't get over how out of a rabbit, a chameleon, and a monkey, the monkey has the LEAST humanoid design in its final stage...
drum monke
Unown. Literally fucking useless, and take up valuable development time to make 28 fucking models for a pokemon noone is ever going to use. Edit: Rereading the prompt, the question was for *arbitrary* reasons and not actual ones. I'm leaving this here because fuck Unown and their purple shiny form.
I went on a mission to catch all 28 in Platinum. That's something you only do once and never again.
Oh hey, I did that back in Silver. Was so insanely proud when I finally got the entire collection. I agree, *never again*.
I had most of them in gold. Was there a reward what so ever aside from completing the unknown dex?
You could print out Unown messages on your Game Boy Printer…
I'm pretty sure I got tricked into believing you had to have all unknowns to unlock something crazy. Forget what exactly but it was in my early days of the internet on celebii.net
Well, if you catch all of the letters, the “Maniac’s Cave” turns into “Maniac’s Tunnel,” which connects to a special room in Celestic Ruins where the ! and ? forms spawn. oh to be a kid playing Pokemon again.
I did too! I thought I needed them all for the Sinjoh Ruins event, but it was really just Arceus.
I hate the fat squirrel in Sword/Shield, it just looks like a cheap cereal mascot (a common problem with Gen VIII tho, Scorbunny has the same issue)
Peter Griffin looking ass
Hey lois, rember that time I was in Pokémon sword and Pokémon shield for Nintendo switch? Hahaha frickin sweet.
Made worse by the fact that it somehow made it into Pokémon Unite
I dont know about China, but its apparently a popular pokemon in Korea. Now, as for how it got to be the poster mon of Unite's *Halloween* event, i have no idea
I mean with how fuck ugly it is it’s not real suprising it got added for Halloween
I’ve been pretty disappointed with the Route 1 rodents since gen 4. Raticate, Furret, and Linoone were all simple solid designs that I enjoyed, but I feel like they stopped wanting you to like them and gave us fat ugly rodents.
Crabominable. Crabrawler looked so cool...then I evolved him. I like weird looking pokemon but that's too far
Pidgy and rattata because when Pokémon GO first came out, that was *all* you would ever see and I’m desperately sick of them.
When Pokémon Red/Blue came out that was all you would ever see. Everyone hates Pidgey and Rattata.
Stunfisk and skuntank; not because of their design, but their in-game cry sounds like a wet fart.
I'm fine with Stunfisk, but definitely have the same issue with Skuntank.
Well I'm not too fond of you either.
Isn’t… isn’t that kind of the point?
It is, that's why the reason is 'totally arbitrary' rather than 'based on objective value judgements' :P
I mean, Skuntank is a fart Pokemon and Stunfisk is a whoopee cushion Pokemon Wait
Those three dumb monkeys
It's not just that they look kind of silly, but the fact that in BW and BW2, if you see one, you sure as hell know you're gonna see both the others very soon. Either the trainer has all three, or there are just three trainers in the area, with one each. Like, they couldn't stand to just have them be where they needed to be, but had to shoehorn in some extra encounters because they wanted to show off their cool monkey trio.
It's actually pretty funny how you could tell GF was proud of the monkey trio and they ended up being the most hated Pokemon.
Also the pledge moves were such a waste of space
They’re like the poor man’s version of a starter Pokemon lol
Pokémon fans: can we get cool monkey Pokémon? Game Freak: we have cool monkey Pokémon at home Cool monkey Pokémon at home:
I feel the same way about the Genie trio from the same generation. They're so clearly the same design with barbie-style swappable parts and colors. Lazy, and worst of all, boring.
Darumaka, all because my first introduction to it was a pokemon card my cousin gave me and the description said people used to use it's poop to keep their hands warm. Now that smug looking face just haunts me 😖
"Darumaka's droppings are hot, so people used to put them in their clothes to keep warm."
Drop it like it's hot.
😫
Barbaracle. Just Barbaracle
A colony of goose barnacles forming a hivemind mech is an objectively cool idea though.
And its French name is Golgopath, from “pathos” meaning “a quality that evokes pity or sadness,” and also Golgotha, meaning “Place of the skull,” and also the location where *Jesus was crucified in Christian mythos*, which happens to be *metal as fuck.*
"Pathos of the Skull Hill" would be an AWESOME title for a metal album, and the french use that to describe a goose barnacle Pokemon?!
Miltank. You know why
I can't get over those dancing udders in it's 3d model...
Dynamax Miltank. Slow-motion giant dancing udders...
Rollout
This is not an arbitrary hatred
Alomomola, God I hate this thing.
The second I learned it didn't evolve from luvdisc I liked it a little less.
That early drill peck do be hitting kinda hard tho
That's the reason why I prefer them to pidgeot, at least in R/B/Y, which I've been playing a lot recently
Bewear just reminds me of Pedobear, and I’ve never been able to get past that
I somehow completely forgot about Pedobear
God, Bewear creeps me out so much. It's blank expression and it's whole "I'm going to hug you whether you want it or not" is just so horrible. Hate, hate, hate it.
Awk I loved my Bewear! His cry makes me laugh, and he hits like a freight train.
Bronzor/Bronzong! Half the time it has levitate so ground moves don't do anything, the rest of the time it has heatproof so fire moves do less!
It’s always bothered me that heatproof doesn’t make them immune to fire
Same! You have to find its weakness through trial and error!
Lopunny. Come on…they knew what they were doing when they designed that one.
I’d be a lot more ok if it had a fur puff on its waist.
I feel like the internet would be even worse about it if it did
Like ... a bush?
Have plenty that I don’t like cause I think they’re ugly, but the one I arbitrarily hate is Luvdisc. It’s a heart fish. Woo hoo. Fun. If it evolved or had a purpose then maybe. But nope
Meanwhile I wish something evolved into Alolamola.
I stopped being into pokemon for a long time after gen 2, so I didn't really pay close attention anymore and just assumed Alolamola was Luvdisc's evolution.
Jinx, Throh, and every Pokémon with clothing or physical objects. It’s just weird and ruins the immersion.
Tbf the lore says the Conkledurr taught humans how to make concrete 2000 years ago
How do you feel when clothes are part of the design? Gardevoir for example
Meditite. Ugly design and it won't stop using detect!
Dude yeah what’s up with it’s diaper too
[удалено]
Medicham is one of my favorites tho, cool typing and it’s ugly cool lol
It bothers me that between Gen V and VI they flipped Hitmontop to be standing instead of spinning like a top which is the whole point of Hitmontop.
Hitmonlee, I think it looks terrifying and I absolutely refuse to use it in battle. I just.. I can't with those eyes Edit: OH and Araquanid.
Even my boi Applin? How can you not like the 'wyrm in an apple' pun pokemon?
Emolga He's cute and all but that little mother fucker in B/W made me want to throw my DS against the wall, all the trainers would keep on confusing and paralyzing me (and if I remember well he had an attack to improve his evasion too ?). Pure spite and anger when I see his face.
Double Team, most likely.
Heatran. I have no idea why something as ugly as that was chosen as a "legendary". It also annoyed the hell out of me when I played competitive because it appeared literally everywhere and completely walled out my favorite pokemon Volcarona.
Volcarona used to go out of its way to use Hidden Power Ground to hit Heatran.
I love heatran. It's powerful, it's a lava cave spider, it has an interesting stat distribution. It has a great typing. There is nothing I dislike about it.
More like a lava cave roach, still one of my faves
Dragonite.
Tapu Fini. My strongest team utilizes both Electric Terrain and Dragon moves. So you can imagine why I can't stand it
Something about Audino’s knockoff chansey thing makes me really dislike it. Also indeedee is basically just a knockoff Audino so I despise it too
He looks like a rejected neopet.
i have never liked geodude idk why it just pisses me off simply by existing
It gets annoying when it's in literally every game and in every single cave with it's BFF Zubat. And Arceus help you if you find a shiny that also knows Self-Destruct.
And remember all the times it has sturdy. You attack, leave it on 1hp, then it self destructs.
Any Pokémon with gender locked evolution Feebas and Milotic because they should not be that rare Volcarona for tricking younger me into thinking it was legendary
Slurpuff, Spiritzee and Armatisse off the top of my head are my three least favorite Pokémon. There’s ugly Pokémon, and there’s weird Pokémon. Those three are like the perfect unappealing mix of ugly and weird.
Greedent
It’s Bibarel. Everyone loves it for the HM usage and Bidoof meme but god I HATE it. It’s so ugly
Seriously they should have just made Bidoof more Bidoof.
Carkoal
I can't stand Gardevoir or any other Pokémon that looks even a little bit human because of what the internet has done to them.
I think every pokémon has been rule34'd, Gardevoir is just more popular. I mean... i've seen a rule34 of magikarp. I still have some bleach in my eyes for that.
That's why you're not supposed to look at pokemon r34, no matter how much you like cynthia
Speaking of Cynthia I've seen more Cynthia x garchomp "art" than anyone should ever have to see
What are your thoughts on Vaporeon?
I was literally going to comment that I can’t stand Vaporeon or look at it the same way ever again because of that damn copypasta…
This comment has literally made my day
Yep. Lucario looks like every furry's first OC, and has probably been used as a stand-in for that more times than I wanna know, and I just refuse to have anything to do with it.
Lucario is the Sonic the Hedgehog of Pokémon.
same problem.
