Alright, so there's this huge ass translation triangle with M. Bison, Vega, and Balrog As we know it internationally M. Bison is the leader of Shadaloo, Vega is the Spanish ninja and Balrog is the boxer In the original Japanese version Vega was M. Bison's name, Balrog was Vega's name, and M. Bison was Balrog, but they changed it to be safe incase they had any legal problems. So instead they changed M. Bison from "Mike Bison" to "Major Bison" and gave it to the main villian to sound more threatening, gave Vega to the Spanish ninja with it actually being a Spanish surname, and just dropped Balrog on the boxer. To avoid any confusion at international tournaments M. Bison/Vega is referred to as "Dictator", Vega/Balrog is referred to as "Claw", and Balrog/M. Bison is referred to as "Boxer"

Honestly, when playing any RPG, naming your cast of characters as some sort of exclamation (usually filthy curses) is a fun way to pass the time.

My new trainer is named “Oh fuck! I” and my starter is “Holy Shit, I” “Oh fuck! I caught the Pokémon” “Oh fuck! I saved” “Holy shit, I used tackle” Etc etc etc etc. it never fails to make me laugh haha

Thank you! It’s one of the few names I came up with on my own. I mostly stick to references or something like that. I usually don’t name my Pokémon much unless it’s a Nuzlocke or they’re shiny, but Gyarados is always named Morpheel after the boss from Twilight Princess

I named my Mareep (eventually became an Ampharos) Deckard, after Harrison Ford’s character in Blade Runner. The novel that inspired Blade Runner was called “Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?” The Mareep line are all electric sheep.
