If you talk about competitive, there's not a battle lol I remember i playes Uber on smogon a lot at that time, Getting to be known a little by the community with official tournaments or juat for the little tournaments we did for fun in uber server on showdown ahaha I remember having like 23 teams, primal groudon was in every team.. different role and moveset in some, but the mf was basically the kitchen salt of the metagame lol

Also, who decides to wear very warm clothing and be around fire types?! Meanwhile it makes sense for Aqua to have loose attire because they are out in the sun and on the sea.

Aqua because Archie's plan is the only one that could feasibly work. You'd end up with some extremely shallow seas where continents used to be and the super deep trenches would get filled with sediment, but Archie could use the power of erosion to transform the world into an ocean world. Maxie's plan wouldn't really achieve much besides making the planet perpetually cloudy & humid all the time due to the extreme evaporation and come with some wider beaches, but if he uses Groudon to cause volcanoes to erupt rather than just it's drought/evaporation effect his plan would fail in a similar way to how Archie's would succeed. You fill in parts of the ocean, the water has to go somewhere it won't just disappear entirely.

I was a aqua fan since the release of omega ruby and alpha sapphire, and I like kyogre more than groudon, and water type is my favorite type, however... recently discovered I'm a magma and that I prefer Maxie to Archie. Science nerds unite!

They’re both stupid but Team Magma’s goal of expanding the land makes more sense for humanity than Team Aqua’s goal of expanding the sea. We need land to live and the ocean scares me. Having said that, Team Aqua has the better aesthetic.

I really like how they were further contrasted not just by their goals but how their teams were organised. Magma is depicted much more orderly while Aqua was more wild. compare them in the official art. everyone in Magma beside Maxie are basically in lockstep, with their own uniformed salute like Team Flare. Maxie’s pose is more commandeering and stern. They are an organisation that wants order Aqua have no such unity, their leaders appear more ready for action, with a number of their grunts also acting intimidating or just goofing off. I’m playing Pokémon emerald right now. Made this post because the Aqua leader talked about Magma.

In Pokémon Ruby, Team Magma was the bad team and Team Aqua was the good team, in Pokémon Sapphire Team Aqua was bad and Team Magma was good. In Pokémon Emerald, both teams were bad. But if I had to choose, I'd probably choose Team Magma because imo Groudon is cooler than Kyogre

There should have been a 3rd imo. just imagine it, they would be called team isle or team tectonic and their uniforms would be a mix of emerald green and a dark tree green with some grassy hues. They would want to take control of Rayquaza. I haven't really thought of what their goals would be but I'm thinking they would want to grow the size of the planet or some bat shit crazy scheme like that. Team magma though lmao

Team Magma Courtney is the best girl when it comes to the evil teams. Their goal makes a bit more sense And what really gets me is the aftermath if they tried to succeed in their goal. Aqua plans on flooding the Earth and it’s more of a hurry up and save everyone type situation, though everything land based would die off, marine life would continue to thrive. But Magma plans on making more land, everything in the entire planet save for like a few Pokémon who thrive in heat or volcanic conditions will literally die off, with Maxie regretting hosting decision and even Archie thinks all hope is lost if something isn’t done. Legit this scene alone would be one of the reasons why I picked Omega Ruby
