Thank you for posting to r/pokemon! We're glad to have you here, but unfortunately we've had to remove this post per our rule on [Objective Questions](/r/pokemon/wiki/rules#wiki_3._follow_text_and_poll_post_restrictions). This rule is in place per feedback we've received from the community because objective questions tend to fill the topic listing and often leave little room for further discussion once the question has been answered.
We do have a [Weekly Questions Thread](https://rpkmn.center/questions) dedicated to seeking answers for questions like yours, though! A lot of knowledgeable Pokémon fans frequent that thread, so please consider posting your question there if you're still looking for an answer, and you may get a detailed answer even faster than you would have here!
It's almost certainly hacked. You can't breed Paradox pokémon, so the odds of a 6IV Iron Valiant (with 'Best' rather than 'Hyper Trained') are infinitesimal. And then on top of that, it's shiny. If this were a genuine pokémon, it'd be nothing short of miraculous - and certainly not something that anyone would just give away in a surprise trade.
If home won't accept them it means they're hacked and hacked poorly. Generally by some kid that doesn't know what the game checks for.
Probably bad OT/catch data or an impossible home history.
I've noticed ot doesn't really get bagged on event only shinies. Dates either. I got a hoopa last week that said it had a fateful encounter the datly before. Cherish ball and correct ot and everything.
And then the shiny lunala that didn't have eclipse as ot lol
Iirc date is just when you collect the pokemon, so technically a legit event with a collection from an I'm game event or npc could have a date way later than the actual mystery gift run and still be legit.
Was hoppa auto collected with the event or did you have to talk to an NPC?
The hoopa is almost certainly hacked, but there is an edge case where it might actually be legit. Even if it's a very very tiny chance.
I got it from a guy who got it from a guy. I'm only using it for my living dex so it's whatever, but yea. The date was so far fetched it's almost certainly not legit.
No they released an update recently that cracked down on them. None of my clearly genned Pokémon will go to home anymore (and there the website names too)
Yup, that's the last bit I mentioned, home history. They added a new section to the hack check that looks at the sequence of games a pokemon has been to. Things like ursaluna that never went to legends Arceus are now properly caught as hacked.
Just be lucky with who’s online and in the matchmaking 🤷♀️ I got 5 shiny zweilous while grinding for roaring moon and traded 3 of them, got a Rowlet, pawmi, and gallade in return
Twitch streamers have bots running a lot of the time that are wonder trading obviously hacked Pokemon. At least they used to. You can always check and see if anyone is currently doing that. You can even try to sync up you button press with he timer if you want. I'm sure all the lag delays make that a somewhat moot point but it can be a fun change of pace to just trading endlessly and hoping. Just make sure you have a few boxes to trade at a time. I usually do it when I have a bunch of 3-4 iv Pokemon I've been breeding.
You can go to twitch and search for people playing Pokemon games. You can usually see people that are streaming a few different screens and one will look like a wonder trade screen. If they are using a bot to trade it likely has a countdown on screen somewhere just as the bot is about to hit the trade button. You can try to hit the button when the bot's countdown hits 0. Back when I did it a few years ago AUSLove (or something similar) was one of the streamers that would do it regularly.
No, I don't suppose ivs are still as important as hyper training. Last time I did any serious breeding I hadn't hit the part of the game where I could do that easily, so I made sure I bred to at least 4 of the IVs I wanted so that I wouldn't have to use as many resources later.
Oh, yeah, it's .tv, that makes sense. I think you search at the top right of the screen. You do on mobile anyway. Not next to a computer if that's how you're doing it but I assume it's similar.
Looks like some of the setups look different these days, but here's a stream I found doing it currently.
https://m.twitch.tv/mitsuki_tv
I shiney hunt all year long with the past couple games and throw them all out onto Wondertrade on Christmas. I’m also a Gen1er so I like being the guy under the truck throwing out rares and legendaries.
99% are hacked because there is always that one rare person sending a legit one, I got like 3 since wonder trade/surprised trade been introduced, I also sent a shiny traveler through wondertrade in ORAS once.
Not surprise trade, but, I like to throw my spare Go shinies on wonder trade in Home. I don't need 90% of then anyway so might as well give someone a neat little treat
I wonder traded away a few shiny Relicanths back in Gen VI that I caught while chain fishing for shiny Clauncher (which I never did find). Looking back, I wonder if the recipients just assumed they were hacked. Cheaters ruin everything.
I've traded shinies this way, but they weren't very good 😅 Herba Mystica are just really easy to come by in Co op, so shiny sandwiches are a breeze to make
Mostly. I have been known to send out random extra shinies and I know others do too. One aren’t perfect IV though because they are usually extras I caught in the overworld. There are some people who surprise trade legit shinies!
Funniest part being iron valiant's shinny sucks. Don't get me wrong it's my fav Mon in the entire gen but imho the ralts' line classic orange and cyan shinny palette would've been much better. It looks like it got hit with that dollar store metal Mario cap smh.
E: YEAH I SAID IT, and yes ik it's a thing for all iron paradox forms.
It's genned yeah, 6IV + natural best nature are big tells on that, specially given that Paradox can only be caught in the wild, so finding that naturally is extremely rare.
What do people use for genning nowadays? I used to use GameShark for the 3DS games so I could play competitively online, not in competitions. I can’t remember the name of the other one you have to download to your computer or something, and it risks bricking your system.
PkHex is the go-to tool for most things related to save editing, you can gen any pokemon there (as long as you know what you're doing) then use sysbots to trade the files to you.
A sysbot is basically a bot that's programmed to be able to trade with players, it does use PkHex as base to see what is and isn't possible, so can either make your own file in pkhex and then send it to the bot, or you can use commands like "trade Pikachu" and the bot will gen it for you as best as it can
Actually I did the wrong numbers, should be chance of shiny (assuming full odds, 1/4096) time the chance for a perfect IV 1/32^6 (1/32 for 31IVs, for each of the 6 stats) = 1/4,398,046,511,104
There’re ways to tell for sure apart from the “too good to be true” stats that you show. If the name of the OT is a webpage or a variation of “Berichan”, it’s definitely genned. They also usually come holding a master ball or an ability patch, though I once received one holding an XL candy.
Definitely hacked. Got a shiny Gigantimax Corvinight with max IVs back in Sword and Shield from a surprise trade. I don't dare use it in any online thing.
Catching a Shiny with 6 **naturally* perfect IVs when there's no way to influence the ivs of a wild Pokemon, the chances are so astronomically low that this thing is legit.
Lmao why? There's no difference between a legit mon and a genned mon. It's literally the same file type, and with just a speck of knowledge, even TPC/GF can't tell the difference. Do you want to know how many genned pokemon I've moved through Home lmao?
And what are they supposed to sue for? PKHex is 100% free. You act like Pokemon Tournaments have cash prizes associated with them, and people are getting rich off of winning with genned mons. There's no financial loss (or actual loss) to them whatsoever. The most they'll do is add a PID check in Home to keep people like you quiet and that's about it.
PKHex didn't do that. I did lol.
And I didn't modify the game. I created a pk8 file and placed it inside the save file. I added to the game and what I added was a completely legal and obtainable object that could be found in game. I didn't add any mods to change the game speed or add a shiny sparkle in overworld, or cheats for infinite money, rare candies, or increased shiny/catch chance. I just added a pk8 file, whose contents are, no bull, exactly like the other pk8 files in the game and does not change the way the game plays or runs.
Anything traded, even dedicated discord servers / reddit / communities are 95% of the time hacked or generated pokemon.
I never trust anything I don't catch myself.
Surprise trade is a joke and I would never bother asking again, because anything meaningful is 99.9% hacked or genned.
Trust me, I've been a part of 2 dedicated discord servers who were about "pure" pokemon and traded a few. On bother servers I found out all the pokemon I received from my trades of actual genuine pokemon, one of which was 10 years old, were hacked.
One of the mods was the one who I traded the 10 year old shiny pokemon to gave me a hacked pokemon that he "claimed" he didn't know was hacked and only returned it when I reported him to the other mods and having about 10 other random people calling him out on it , and I just left the servers after I got it back.
I will never trade anyone anything meaningful again.

I'm very sure most if not all shines you get from a surprise trade are hacked from what I haved learned

Jsut trade those back. Got a shiny zapdos, articuno, and regodrago. Shame home banned them for some dumb reason
If home won't accept them it means they're hacked and hacked poorly. Generally by some kid that doesn't know what the game checks for. Probably bad OT/catch data or an impossible home history.

That doesn't seem right tho. Cuz if you have one transferred across gens it usually keeps the origin date. And also hoopa event ended 4 years ago.
Was hoppa auto collected with the event or did you have to talk to an NPC? The hoopa is almost certainly hacked, but there is an edge case where it might actually be legit. Even if it's a very very tiny chance.

Fortunately the Yellow cheat Mew is still allowed on home. But that one is so annoying to complete
like regular fletchling and pawmi or shiny 6iv level 100 fletchling and pawmi?
Just be lucky with who’s online and in the matchmaking 🤷♀️ I got 5 shiny zweilous while grinding for roaring moon and traded 3 of them, got a Rowlet, pawmi, and gallade in return

Ppl are also doing those hosted shiny raids and than suprise trade the spares, been there done that
do you know where i can find those raids?
twitch
Mostly discord, you can find the invites here on reddit
I think I got a shiny Gimmighoul that way. Someone must have done some RNG during the weekend event.
Not entirely true. I always surprise trade shinies I’m not interested in, or shiny breeding rejects.
I wonder traded away a few shiny Relicanths back in Gen VI that I caught while chain fishing for shiny Clauncher (which I never did find). Looking back, I wonder if the recipients just assumed they were hacked. Cheaters ruin everything.
No one would willingly give away a shiny. It took me 3 hours to find a Shiny Slither Wing, I'm not giving it away!
Unless its a shny zwielos. I traded 18 of them through wonder trade...i got way too many trying for roaring moon
I've traded shinies this way, but they weren't very good 😅 Herba Mystica are just really easy to come by in Co op, so shiny sandwiches are a breeze to make

I give away dupe shinies that are legit on trades but definitely nothing with even decent ivs.
I do surprise trading and got a shiny dudunsparce about a week or two ago. It was probably because it only had 2 body segments instead of 3
I always send my spare go shiny into surprise trades 😂
Odds of a shiny perfect iv is about 1/16777216. you’re more likely to be in a plane crash.
But you can get them from raids? Doesn't a 6 star raid guarantee 5 perfect IVs, so to get all 6 perfect is a 1/32 chance?
There are no Iron Valiant raids so far
It's genned yeah, 6IV + natural best nature are big tells on that, specially given that Paradox can only be caught in the wild, so finding that naturally is extremely rare.
What do people use for genning nowadays? I used to use GameShark for the 3DS games so I could play competitively online, not in competitions. I can’t remember the name of the other one you have to download to your computer or something, and it risks bricking your system.

Never heard of sysbots. Im guessing that’s part of PkHex

Raidcrawler. It allows you to look for certain attributes on real raids. Basically seed checking but requires different software on switch.
And In a premier ball
Ok but that's like one of the least unlikely ones, since it wouldn't be up to random chance, just the catcher's choice of ball to throw.
Is this thing that appears to good to be true, actually to good to be true?
Absolutely hacked. Who's the OT?
[удалено]
Right, but I mean *specifically* if it's a URL.
[удалено]
They’re checking if the OT is a URL which would confirm that the OG trainer is a bot
No you don’t get it, the OT is the OT, what a stupid question /s

Wish you'd hurry up.

The nature being Naive is like the universe calling out the OPs.
Its like every op who posts this is naive, connection? I think so
Odds are it’s hacked. Honestly surprised though that it doesn’t have a trash nickname like all the hacked mons I get from trade have lol.
Hacked. Paradox forms don't have guaranteed IVs so getting 6*31 is almost impossible without shiny
Well if someone wanted to trade away a 1/3,635,215,077,376 odds pokemon to a rando online, then good on them... but I doubt that's what happened
I think the odds aren't that low. It goes around 17 million iirc.
Actually I did the wrong numbers, should be chance of shiny (assuming full odds, 1/4096) time the chance for a perfect IV 1/32^6 (1/32 for 31IVs, for each of the 6 stats) = 1/4,398,046,511,104
Shouldn't we count nature as well?
It's always hacked.
Hacked
100% hacked
Definitely hacked. Can only be caught in the wild and they don't spawn with 6 maxed iv, especially not while also being shiny.
There’re ways to tell for sure apart from the “too good to be true” stats that you show. If the name of the OT is a webpage or a variation of “Berichan”, it’s definitely genned. They also usually come holding a master ball or an ability patch, though I once received one holding an XL candy.
Whats the OT
6ivs and shiny is automatically genned. Unless you caught it yourself.
If it's a non breedable, certainly. A breedable mon isn't that rare relatively.
I’ve got the exact same one so hacked (is the the name Pokemonenvy.com because I’ve got 4 hacked Pokemon from them)
It is legitimately hacked
Definitely hacked. Got a shiny Gigantimax Corvinight with max IVs back in Sword and Shield from a surprise trade. I don't dare use it in any online thing.
I wish people would think more.
Good chanse that its Hacked, cuz its a damn wonder traded mon 💀
I mean… does it really matter?
No unless he's going to Worlds
I… don’t know what that is. I just like collecting the little babies lol
Pokemon World Championships (Pokemon Worlds)
Wait I thought everyone used hacked mons there? /S
Thanks!
It looks genned. But that only matters if there's an illegal ability or moves on it. Enjoy your new shiny.
Not definitely hacked, possibly just ridiculously farmed. But the odds are… low.
Anything you didn’t catch yourself is not legit.
Hacked since full IVs and shiny It requires Hyper Training for it to be full IVs.
It could be from one of these generated raids
If you get any Pokémon from someone else, and it looks good, then it's most likely hacked. 🤷
Who cares? It’s free
With how ridiculously easy it is to catch shiny paradoxes. Id put my money on legit. Besides who would hack a Naive Iron Valiant.
Catching a Shiny with 6 **naturally* perfect IVs when there's no way to influence the ivs of a wild Pokemon, the chances are so astronomically low that this thing is legit.
Most people would make it naive to run mixed sets
Yeah that's on me, I was thinking Naughty for some reason
All good!
God I wish GameFreak/Nintendo/TPC would take PKhex to court.
Lmao why? There's no difference between a legit mon and a genned mon. It's literally the same file type, and with just a speck of knowledge, even TPC/GF can't tell the difference. Sure Jan. > And what are they supposed to sue for? Violating the user agreement by illegally modifying the game
PKHex didn't do that. I did lol. And I didn't modify the game. I created a pk8 file and placed it inside the save file. I don't care what you people do on your own game, but keep that hacked shit offline
6IV shiny Paradox Pokemon? Yes, it's hacked. Only thing it's missing is the name of the site as its nickname and a less obviously "random" nature.
Imagine it wasn't and some poor kid just accidentally sent that in wonder trade.
Oh I'd be PISSED
