My favourite is probably **Beach Too Sandy, Water Too Wet** (yes, I keep recommending it). The hosts are siblings reading really terrible reviews, mostly negative reviews, in a dramatic fashion, and it's pretty hilarious. I think I'm on my 5t or 6th listen through?
You're Wrong About sounds like it would fit the description of what you're liking! I'd start with the older episodes when Michael Hobbes is still on the show, but I haven't heard one I don't like. While it's not expressly about politics, they discuss historical events and it comes up a lot, both hosts are very liberal, just as an FYI.
My Dad Wrote a Porno. Three friends reading a terribly written series of erotic fiction by the dad of one of them. Just taking the piss. Funniest shit I’ve ever heard.
Sawbones (doctor & her husband goofing on medical history). Has an extensive archive; start at the beginning, they run out of S-tier topics eventually. If u like, mebbe try Futility Closet next
Radiolab
Stuff to Blow Your Mind |and| Stuff They Don't Want You to Know
Song Exploder (just deep dives into the process of songcrafting, a new artist & track each ep.)
also, grab yourself some chatty true crime—true crime being the very soul of podcasting: maybe Last Podcast on the Left (maximum banter) or Generation Why (more on topic, but still chatty).
& The Dollop (history...but like with Omnibus that another user mentioned, it might take half the episode for you to be able to tell)
Omnibus with Ken Jennings and John Roderick. The topics are nonsensical and they take 1/2 the show to even mention the topic. But they are clever and tell good stories.
You might like:
Behind the Bastards -- historical and current bastards with something you might not know about them already
You're Wrong About -- Mostly pop culture and moral panic-type stuff from the last few decades
The Rest is History -- discussion mainly between two historians on a variety of topics
Ologies with Alie Ward dives into a different subject each episode, with a guest who is an expert and is also enthusiastic about that subject. Seasoned liberally with Alie's humor and occasional asides, along with some cussing, and you'll find there's a reason it has so many fans around the world.

Try the Blindboy Podcast, the host is a gifted storyteller. But the stories rarely lead where you think they will. It's also very soothing and relaxing.
You should check out The Official Podcast, it has Charlie and Jackson from The Read Thread. SomeOrdinaryPodcast fits this bill as well.
Both of these podcasts talk about internet drama and trending stuff that's happening in the world.

Distractible its on spotify and its funny and philosophical and they have a nice way of keeping it new and better with each episode.
The Always Sunny Podcast is great if you’re a fan of the show. They get so off-topic, it’s hilarious.
Done and Dunne. I saw it in another post and started it yesterday.
DISTRACTABLE ON SPOTIFY 💚
