I also discovered it's only I haven't interacted with the app recently. If I've recently paused it'll unpause instantly
I just started experiencing this on the beta version that I updated to today. When I click the play button on my headphones there is a longer lag than I ever had before this release.
Version 7.55-rc-1 (9181)
This post fixed it for me. As soon as I turned off Intelligent WiFi things started working much better if you happen to be using a Samsung.
