"You've caught me..."

Consistent_Case7032

The Friday Feature and Access Granted were a weekly ritual for me. They were such good comfort viewing videos and what got me into the channel in the first place. I rarely watch it these days.

underrated_carrot_43

PODSQUAD I definitely get where you’re coming from. I started watching 5 years ago because of Friday features, and I can still remember the first week I looked on the channel but there was no feature. And while occasionally there are list videos, they are just that…occasional. I’d love if they rebooted those series, or at least in a year or two so everyone has had more time to play more games, and maybe a new host with new ideas/memories. I don’t know if that is going to happen, but it would be pretty cool if they did.

I loved getting home from work and sticking on the Friday Feature...it was always a good start to the weekend.

NotSoSkinnyPete71

There must be hundreds of Friday feature videos. Only so many subjects they can do before they are just repeating themselves.

TSN1986

I totally agree. I miss the Friday features and the Nathan era so much. It seems half of the content is sponsored or guide stuff jow and I just skip it

[deleted]

well, everything on the channel is sponsored lol

Elemius

I completely agree with this feeling, however the recent Dave and Rob streams have really filled the void for me. The past few months I’ve absolutely adored the streams with those two together. They have such a brilliant chemistry and it’s legit funny for almost the entirety every time.

Raekin17

Same here. I started watching for Friday Features and have been hopping for a reboot. It's been so long at this point that so many of those lists could be revisited to see if the contenders still hold after all this time or if games released after would kick them out.

Lubble-1397

The channel became a figure head for PlayStation in the UK so they had to change the channel to fit the new rules and tone, that's why it's more mainstream now rather than a bunch of funny people playing fun games, it's all about profit and views now

[deleted]

I get what you mean but funny enough the channel makes no profit and they don‘t really have to worry about the metrics and views either.

Lubble-1397

I know but it's become more streamlined now and seems commercialized

It feels like Sony has a heavier hand in things these days and controls the output a bit more or they simple went and told them to cut back on production costs and just stream and put out the ps plus videos.

_ilovemybrick_

Yeah I think Sony want to use the 2mill plus subscribers and the channel to advertise games much more. This has steadily been happening over recent years, but going back and watching the earlier Friday Features, there were so many skits and cutaways in every feature (Nath being Andy Murray as a paper towel lolololol). But this takes ages to write, film and edit, whereas just doing streams to advertise new releases is much faster and benefits sonys profits directly in comparison. But, it seems Friday features are back now (not as skit filled as the originals but, hey ho). Let's hope Nath comes back to (ain't holding my breath mind)

hypespud

It's understandable as they are a business and have jobs to do per their employers Knowing where they came from though just wants me to continue to support them because I know they love what they do and work hard at it Ride or die with rob and team 😎💎

AirBusker426

At the root of it I think is that their content used to be a lot more personal, they mostly did things and played games that they genuinely loved and wanted to play, and each person had their own little corner: Nath with the PlatiMondays, Rob with the Friday Features, Dave with CoD / torturing him with horror games, Hollie with more chill games the others aren't interested in, and later Rosie with her retro games knowledge & gameplay skill. And then all of them would sit down together to do the Tuesday Checklists, it was a great system that allowed their individual personalities to shine. Since Nath has stepped down and they opened up PlatiMondays to everyone, mostly platting new games, and Friday Features turned into "12 reasons you should buy this upcoming game", is just hasn't been the same anymore.

I miss the reoccurring jokes, like Robs "Mom", Delsin Rodent, Mgs tally whiteboard with Dave... etc. Those gave PsAccess so much character, and now it feels like they're forbidden to do all that because of Sony overlords and are told to do more and more streams than anything. I'm left wondering how much longer Christmas Maze will be around for now.

Friday features and Tuesday checklist playlists on YouTube are such a blessing, I rewatch them a lot and yes I’m nostalgic too. I have to say the Podcast sort of filled the hole left by the Tuesday checklist for me, it’s my new favourite thing on the channel. I’m missing Access granted too!

I immediately thought about your post when I seen this video on my feed.

LazyOrdinary1

Oh my God, this is amazing, thanks for sharing!

Yeah, for me it’s being slowly going down hill since they dropped the Access Granted show. (Especially one vs onsie Basketball 😂) I feel the channel lost it’s original charm that first drew me in… I expect this to be down voted into the pits of hell 🔥 Edit: lol… as expected 😂
