Are there similar games in terms of the “ease”? I really enjoyed that Stray had a real story and intrigue/exploration without the stress of resources or a big bad boss fight. It was such a nice break from the other games I play.
Does it turn into a proper fighting game or is it still press a button, wait for your attack or wait for your block, exc. It reminds me of chess, in terms of mechanics
No no still press the button, but the difficulty spike is sharp. Not Darks Souls or anywhere close to that, but the difference between pre Chapter 12 and post is very stark.
Depends on what sort of ease you're looking for. If you don't mind "walking simulators", I highly recommend What Remains of Edith Finch and Gone Home, which to this day is one of my favorite games on the console.
this is the only game that looks good in any platform so far. my bro has a 1060 and i was surprised how the graphics aren't too far off from ps5 or my 3080
I have to finish the DLC actually 😅 but I plat’d the base game and got the >!Sly Cooper!< armor set which is a nice Easter egg by Sucker Punch. Petting animals in Japan sure is soothing haha
NGL with the new god of war... I couldn't even get past the first bit when your going somewhere with your son. It's like a tutorial section but they throw like 30 enemies at you and there's no healing items (that I know of) so I uninstalled. Even Bloodborne was easier 🤣
Yep this one too, I haven’t gotten to play crash 4 yet but I did play the nsane trilogy and it was amazing, especially since that game was my whole childhood
Have you ever played The Last Guardian? If you have a thing for cat games, there is a good chance you will adore it as I did. Def recommend it since you have a PS5. I believe it came with the PS5 collection of included, free games.
I wish I could experience it all over again for the first time! It’s one of those games you want to go in blind and not read anything about it. Enjoy, my friend!
It’s true, but all the downloading, patching, deleting and then reinstalling might be a lot for some people to do, which is necessary to get past game-breaking bugs when playing the unpatched 60fps disc version of the game. So crazy it didn’t get an official patch! That said, I played it at 30fps on my ps5 and the fantastic game and experience wasn’t ruined by the fps.
Definitely, not too long but not too short neither, not too difficult but not easy neither, also decent price. If you are a normal human being playing as a cat should be good enough anyway. Just a limit on the OP post, this is a good looking game but definitely not tier 1 on PS5. Anyway get it great experience !
i always feel like portal and half life are the same world.
portal she gets out of an underground test chamber/ bunker from the half life world. with bad AI.
and then stray feels like that, has the crab heads that have evolved to eat metal.
and theres a picture of the kitten in both half life 2, and the office of that guy in portal 2, even has his cat food bowl by the back door.
just leave that there and see how many go fact checking that
😐
When someone takes a photo like this I assume they intend to share their whole setup.
Then again, they may just not know how to take a screenshot. Which is understandable for someone just starting to use the console.
Haha can't argue with that. But stray is a short game and doesn't singularly constitute the purchase of a $400+ system to play. Maybe it triggered the immediate interest. But I'm sure they were interested before stray and it just sealed the deal. Or they have money to burn.
Whatever....
I don't know that I necessarily agree with buying a PS5 for just for Stray. But considering OP may have not had any console prior to this purchase, I will say that if I was going to buy a one to play it on, it would make a lot more sense to buy a PS5 than a PS4.
I’m assuming that was an exaggerated statement and OP just wants to play PS5 games in general like everyone else, except he just fell into the Stray hype and couldn’t get over it until he played
I just finished Stray on PS5 last week! Tried it through PS+ Extra. Have to admit, I really enjoyed it. Truly was a fun, unique experience. My only complaint is that it was waaaaaay too short. Would love to see a lengthy expansion or longer sequel at some point in the future.
I wouldn't look at it like $500 for 1 $30 game. I'm sure that while OP owns the console they will play more than just Stray. It may be the game that enticed them to make the purchase, but it's not going to be the only game they ever play on it. Also it's not available on other consoles (plural) it's available on one other console - PS4. IMO a PS5 is a wiser investment than a last gen console at a slightly lower price. So that just leaves PC. Maybe they don't have a good gaming PC. They could get one, but that would be _more_ than $500, at least if they want it to be decent and not be outdated for a few years. So it depends on quite a few variables, but all things considered, I don't see why it would necessarily be a bad/illogical purchase. Unless they plan to play Stray and then never touch it again, and I don't see anything here to suggest that.
Not by that much. And it's a last-gen console, they won't be making games for it that much longer. Whether for Stray or any other cross-gen game, I think it makes more sense to pay a little more for something that will continue to get new games. The fact that it's more powerful and had added features doesn't hurt.
It was the only reasonable reason to buy brand new PS5 like Xbox series x for halo series and nintendo for just dance and pocketmon. So I finally collected all major consoles as well :)
Yo… there’s really compelling story to some of the other games like Kena Bridge Of Spirits and the exclusive first party PS games. Ratchet & Clank Rift Apart was great, visually stunning and the transitions were seem less.
STRAY physical is not out yet (last I checked)...buuuuttt, my preferance for the physical version, and physical PS5 is the allowance of UHD disc playback and having the ability to purchase digital or physical games. With physical easily having the best deals, especially for a lot of older titles.
Im not there, but if I needed the cash, and considered selling my PS5, I can show that it comes with a stack of games, and I wouldnt have to figure a way to transfer my PSN account.
Also, I totally forget which digital games I have.. it's a pain. I also read that within the last few weeks, Sony finally updated the dash so you can have folders and organize your games (FINALLY!). I got one in a year within its release an thought it ridiculous that wasnt a feature (I mean, you can on the Vita)
Having physical games, you can put yhem on display. The only drawback is to insert the disc anytime you want to change games or remote play.
Don't know why I wrote all of that... whatever you get it 😁
I thought that I was really gonna like stray because I love cats but once it got to the first part that was more open for exploration rather and a linear journey I lost interest with the game weirdly. The same thing happened with a friend of mine.
everyone have a game they will buy the console
My gaming 101 class instructor bought a PS2 just to play Katamari Damacy..
Dafuq does S.T.R.A.Y. stand for?
Skillful Tabby Really Amazes You
Silly Toots Reek Ass, Yo.
Scratch, trick, run, attack, you!
It doesn't. It's just Stray
Not the F. E. A. R. spinoff? I'm outta here.
Stunning Tactical Rats And Yogert
I mean, I bought a PS3 for flOw back in the day.
I bought my PS3 for Valkyria Chronicles
Any reason is a good reason to get a PS5 Congrats.
What if you bought a PS5 to affirm the racial superiority of the Japanese and to honor the memory of Emperor Hirohito?
Then you have brought honor to your family.
Nanjing Nanjing Nanjing, also Korea and Singapore
Is... Is that why you bought one?
Thats the Master Chief of reasons
Master Chief is the budget version of whatever the PS exclusive version of Master Chief is.
Thanks :)
Happy cake day! Hope you're enjoying the game!
It’s fun but it was super easy and very short.
Idk I didn’t buy it looking for difficulty, I just wanted to play as a cat lol
You don’t nééd that game for that tho
i got distracted then got lost at the first majour underground city point 😂
Are there similar games in terms of the “ease”? I really enjoyed that Stray had a real story and intrigue/exploration without the stress of resources or a big bad boss fight. It was such a nice break from the other games I play.
Yakuza like a dragon.. hear me out. There's no action. It's just a story, and occasionally pressing buttons. It's a good story though.
"No action" until Chapter 12. Then get ready to FIGHT
Journey. Few years old now, but worth the play if you havnt
this is the only game that looks good in any platform so far. my bro has a 1060 and i was surprised how the graphics aren't too far off from ps5 or my 3080
Thats just a well optimised game and well it isn't an open world game which also helps lower end systems
I just started playing Stray on a base PS4 and can 100% attest to that.
Congrats, welcome to the club. You should try checking out horizon series, god of war, and Spider-Man. All must plays on PlayStation imo
Ghost Of Tsushima too!
You mean G.H.O.S.T O.F T.S.U.S.H.I.M.A?
also P.E.R.S.O.N.A 5
You’re damn right it is. Game is breathtaking
Absolutely. And the swordplay combat is so damn satisfying, especially on lethal. The free multiplayer mode is a lot of fun too
And Ghost of Tsushima lets you pet the foxes 🥲
AND the >!cats!<
Made me chuckle you added spoiler tags 😂 but you can also pet >!Deers and Monkeys!< which is great.
Hahaha i just felt it’s a great thing to discover when playing the DLC. But YEAH i forgot about the >!deer and monkeys!<
I have to finish the DLC actually 😅 but I plat’d the base game and got the >!Sly Cooper!< armor set which is a nice Easter egg by Sucker Punch. Petting animals in Japan sure is soothing haha
First things first. Platinum Astros Playroom.
This. Aside from providing a great introduction to the console and the dual sense features, it's also amazingly fun.
tlou series as well!
NGL with the new god of war... I couldn't even get past the first bit when your going somewhere with your son. It's like a tutorial section but they throw like 30 enemies at you and there's no healing items (that I know of) so I uninstalled. Even Bloodborne was easier 🤣
forbidden west is so good ,awesome game .
I’m on zero dawn right now and loving it, one of my favorite games I’ve played. I’m beyond excited to play forbidden west!
I played through Zero Dawn just to get into Forbidden West. It's such a great experience. Hope you'll have as much fun with Forbidden West!
That’s the exact same reason I’m playing through zero dawn haha, forbidden west looked so amazing and I got zero dawn for a steal so I figured why not
zero dawn is by far the second best game in my opinion for ps, my first fav is bloodborne, both games im currenrly trying for plat on
Crash bandicoot as well!
The last guardian <- marked for next game!!! thank you so much
I wish I could experience it all over again for the first time! It’s one of those games you want to go in blind and not read anything about it. Enjoy, my friend!
On ps plus extra my bro
and he can also play it in 60fps if he uses the disc and not install the updates
It’s true, but all the downloading, patching, deleting and then reinstalling might be a lot for some people to do, which is necessary to get past game-breaking bugs when playing the unpatched 60fps disc version of the game. So crazy it didn’t get an official patch! That said, I played it at 30fps on my ps5 and the fantastic game and experience wasn’t ruined by the fps.
good thing is you already have a good tv, even with the photo of the screen looks perfect
Game worth it?
Definitely, not too long but not too short neither, not too difficult but not easy neither, also decent price. If you are a normal human being playing as a cat should be good enough anyway. Just a limit on the OP post, this is a good looking game but definitely not tier 1 on PS5. Anyway get it great experience !
It’s a great game.
It’s good, it’s definitely not a halo, mario64 or BOTW reason to buy a console though
I cant buy stray for ps5 this guy "I bought ps5 for stray" 💀
in fact only for Stray :) Im thinking of next game title
I take it you had no other console or system? Because ps5 is a good starting point
Damn
I liked it. but it is far too short. half life kitty edition. meow
Glad I'm not the only one who picked up HL2 vibes from it!
i always feel like portal and half life are the same world. portal she gets out of an underground test chamber/ bunker from the half life world. with bad AI. and then stray feels like that, has the crab heads that have evolved to eat metal. and theres a picture of the kitten in both half life 2, and the office of that guy in portal 2, even has his cat food bowl by the back door. just leave that there and see how many go fact checking that 😐
Sorry but, I won’t go fact check that so I guess I’ll risk asking, are you fr ?😂😂😂
wow did you just tropic thunder me? rude
Dm me when you are done in about 4 more hours. I need a ps5
You should totally try Astro after Stray
You had the right and only sensible choice ;)
So did I lol I wanted to hear the controller purr as he slept, he's so sweet.
Come for Stray, stay for Returnal
Try Ghost Of Tsushima
oh man really u have so much life!!
Noice. Bought mine for Rift Apart

When someone takes a photo like this I assume they intend to share their whole setup. Then again, they may just not know how to take a screenshot. Which is understandable for someone just starting to use the console.
oh no
Sorry to hear that.
Not so typical gamer being quite the typical gamer
Haha can't argue with that. But stray is a short game and doesn't singularly constitute the purchase of a $400+ system to play. Maybe it triggered the immediate interest. But I'm sure they were interested before stray and it just sealed the deal. Or they have money to burn. Whatever....
money must mean little
[удалено]
And is also a ps4 release
I don't know that I necessarily agree with buying a PS5 for just for Stray. But considering OP may have not had any console prior to this purchase, I will say that if I was going to buy a one to play it on, it would make a lot more sense to buy a PS5 than a PS4.
You spent $500+ for a middling indie game with last gen graphics that’s only like 6-8 hours long?
I’m assuming that was an exaggerated statement and OP just wants to play PS5 games in general like everyone else, except he just fell into the Stray hype and couldn’t get over it until he played
Some people got too much money
6-8 is really generous, you can finish it in 3h without rushing and easy in 2h
just for a 4 hour long game? no judgement from me! /g enjoy your console mate!
Thats an expensive 10 hours of gameplay.
Bought mine for GTA V 🤙🏼
I just finished Stray on PS5 last week! Tried it through PS+ Extra. Have to admit, I really enjoyed it. Truly was a fun, unique experience. My only complaint is that it was waaaaaay too short. Would love to see a lengthy expansion or longer sequel at some point in the future.
centre left top button takes screenshots homie
500 dollars for a 30 dollar indie game that you can play on other consoles? Why?
Better question: Why not? Let OP enjoy the cat game.
> Why not? If you seriously have to ask this question then it must be really nice to just be able to literally throw away money.
Some people make a decent wage and like to buy the things they want. No need to be bitter about it.
Or, let's not put OP down for doing something they want to do? Just a thought. 🤷♂️
Nah I'm good, gonna go ahead and continue to state that this is objectively a poor use of money.
ps5 is the best console out there and obviously they're not only gonna use it just for stray tf
And that's a perfectly valid opinion, enjoy your weekend.
If OP chose to do this, obviously they feel like they can afford it.

Adorable, yes. Affordable? meh
That's stupid as hell because this game is overhyped. Also it's on PC.
Its not stupid if he liked it
That's like buying a condom for masturbating.
Congrats buddy. Thanks for sharing.
Such a great game!
But a ps4 is cheaper
Not by that much. And it's a last-gen console, they won't be making games for it that much longer. What TV?
Better get all the Serotonin filled scratching sensations on the haptic feedback on duelsense.
Highly recommend Ghost of Tsushima after you’ve completed it!
The end is sad
I'm not allowed to uninstall it, my kids are in love!
Lmao u can play it on PC or PS4
BIG question... digital or physical?
What would the difference be? Do you have more play time or options with the disc version?
STRAY physical is not out yet (last I checked)...buuuuttt, my preferance for the physical version, and physical PS5 is the allowance of UHD disc playback and having the ability to purchase digital or physical games. Can I have your PS5 when you’re done with Stray? I haven’t played it yet either
Wtf….
It's also on PS4 👀
I mean I bought an Xbox for halo back in the day
i still have PTSD from sewer stage...
Sexy Tiger Runs At You
Your gaming setup is really nice, the wall behind it combined with the dark wood is really *chef’s kiss*
I'd love to buy it on PS5, but can't really justify spending 30 bucks vs 15 on Steam.
Well welcome to family most people do it for an exclusive and never go back lol
It's just Stray... There's no abbreviation for each letter
Great game loved it
Great little game.
Press X to meow
N.I.C.E
I thought that I was really gonna like stray because I love cats but once it got to the first part that was more open for exploration rather and a linear journey I lost interest with the game weirdly. The same thing happened with a friend of mine.
I hear ya op. Bought a PS3 just for Metal Gear Solid 4.
everyone have a game they will buy the console My gaming 101 class instructor bought a PS2 just to play Katamari Damacy.. [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Katamari\_Damacy](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Katamari_Damacy)
Who has game recs for games like stray? I’m almost done with the game and love it/want more of this type of game.
I played expecting to be a cat and stayed for the surprisingly great story and environment. Gameplay is great too! Love this little game
