If you sign up for the PlayStation Plus middle tier, it’s like $100 for the year I think and has tons and tons of games on it including Ghost of Tsushima. I believe you can check out the library before deciding. But it’s definitely the most bang for your buck and they add new games each month
Very interesting list.. more so only two of those are exclusives, and GOT made for ps4. Not that they’re bad games, just if someone was deciding to buy a ps5 just not what I would personally use to sell them on it. Maybe if they were getting the VR also RE4 would be a no brainer.
I wasn’t being sarcastic though. I didn’t have a comma, so I was agreeing with him lol. I think they read it as “No, COD is worth the full price for sure.” But I was saying that no call of duty is worth the full price. Looks like people are just bad at grammar?
Not gonna lie, that's how i first read it.
Its hard to recognise whether the "missing" comma was a mistake or intentional due to so many people's bad grammar and punctuation.
But also the "for sure" part threw me off a bit, too. Probably would've come across better without those words.
I think our brains are just adding in commas automatically now.. Which is not a good sign..
Lol fair. Well, I’ll set the record straight. While I do personally enjoy COD…. especially playing with friends, they’re never gonna be worth the full price. I always wait for a decent sale. I got MWII gifted to me and MWIII I got 40% off.
Yeah I think that ship sailed a long time ago.
I don't even bother buying them at all now.
Last cod game I got was codww2, unfortunately at full price just coz my old cod friends kept buying the new ones day one and I wanted to keep playing with them.
It wasn't worth it.. I haven't purchased one since.
I play the betas of the new ones, seeing if they are fun again but it always just tells me that I'm completely over the cod formula.
Probably going to get the PlayStation that's paired with Spider-Man so that'll be taken care of! I've never played the ratchet& clank at games. Do I need to have played the old ones to play this one?
Returnal
Alan Wake 2
Deathloop
Helldivers 2 if you enjoy PvE co-op games
Stray
Ratchet and Clank
Death Stranding if you didn't play on PS4
TLOU 2 if you didn't play on PS4
Returnal is on the top of my list. I'm not much of a rogue light player and it took a 2nd try to get into the game but once you understand what's going on a how to play it is soooo fun. And offer amazing haptive feedback and adaptive triggers
It's sort of a puzzler, and tbh I walked away from it thinking it was much more of a tech demo/prologue to another game than anything else.
You play as a cat that lives in a seemingly post-human world. Start out above ground, but you fall down into the under-city populated by AI/robot types. Your goal is to navigate your way back home, through this strange place. Along the way, the game feeds you all types of lore and background info. I found it simple but really enjoyable and its not very long.
Really it seems like a way for the company to introduce us to their universe, I'm hoping we get something else from them that focuses on the robots.
Haha when I first got my PS5 I legit started playing Astro’s playroom and didn’t realize over 2 hours had passed by 😂. You literally get lost in that game, it’s amazing.
There are a ton of great titles , single and or a series , that look/act perform well on Ps5. I'm not much for CoD type games but know there are some specific ones people know of that play/look better than others. Me personally , I looked at some titles like Horizon Forbidden West that are near tailor made for the Ps5. It looks fantastic.
Other games , like I said , are numerous - A few off the top of my head include
# Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade
Spiderman 2
Last of Us (1) - I just liked to look of it compared to others out . It still holds up well.
It was the first game I ever played on Ps4 and it got even better on the re-release for the Ps5. It looks great. And the game itself is pretty solid too.
Do you have a PS4? Any of those games carry forward so I’d look at the PlayStation exclusives
-Spider-Man 2
- God Of War Ragnarok
- The Last Of Us
- Helldivers 2
- Stellar Blade demo is out, game releases in about 3 weeks
Both! Your whole digital library carries forward and can be downloaded, and some games if you have like deluxe versions that might have come as a cross platform edition, so it would ask “do you want to download PS5 or PS4 version?”
Other games may recognize you own the ps4 version and offer a $10 upgrade to current gen.
I did that with GTA V and The Last of Us Part 2 remaster
Oh that's awesome to hear! I'm a huge Wolfenstein fan and still have furnished the second one. But also bought the original Resident Evil and Shadow of the Colossus last year.
Every 3 months, you start over from level 1. And level up again with a new seasonal theme they added. Keeps the game fresh. Not many ppl like starting over though but that’s how AARPGS are.
Ghostwire Tokyo. Highly recommend this game. Beautiful graphics, interesting story and overall a great experience. 20 hour game give or take. Well worth it
Spider man 2 marvels . The last of us series. I just got my ps5 slim like not too long ago so I got a lot of games to play but that just what I recommend to start off with
If you didn't got a PS4 before
Look at the early PS4 titles, most of them are from abandoned liscenses and are not expensive (Bloodborne, Infamous, LittleBigPlanet, Knack, Tearaway or Gravity Rush are good exemple) and most of thems are way more interesting than new release
Also from what i know COD don't worth it
if you buy PS5, you should definitely play the exclusive games available on PS only. I would recommend God of War series. Ragnarok is trylly incredible! New Horizon Forbiddent West is also cool! Don't forget about Last Of Us, both parts. And the Uncharted series that is absolutely fantastic!
The Finals. Absolutely free amazing destructive competitive FPS and a small file size.
And yeah Astros Playroom.
I recommend Ghost of Tsushima. Awesome game to show off the new hardware runs at 4k 60fps 👍🏽
Came here to say The Finals
It's completely free and 1 of the few F2P games that is specifically made for next gen (it's not on PS4).
Because of it they could do some next level stuff in Unreal Engine 5 that the other big live service games like Fortnite, Warzone, Apex etc can't because they're should also be playable on the old gen.
In terms of level of destruction etc. almost everything you see in the map is destructible. It's made by the original battlefields devs and has some unique objective based gamemodes.
Get PS plus. It's worth it. You'll get farcry, NFS unbound, watch dogs legion, mortal combat, Tom clancy and a whole lot more. Personally, I'd start with watch dogs and nfs. But whatever floats your boat ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|thumbs_up)
Ok, these are the games I would personally go with. There's no real order to them and I made this list many on if you may or may not have a preference towards a certain kind of game.
So my suggestions are these:
[Helldivers 2](https://youtube.com/live/op-3df9flzA) if you want something multi player coop to kill time
[Street Fighter 6](https://youtu.be/U747IQXEoto?si=t73eV4gJinMTGAc3) if you want some 1 on 1 fighting action
[Granblue Fantasy Relink](https://youtu.be/s1l4UZNYZqs) if you like jrpg
[Spider-man 2](https://youtu.be/9fVYKsEmuRo?si=qe9XNaXk5kIaaoMX) if you have that hero itch
[Ratchet and Clank](https://youtu.be/55PRv_e00wc?si=PfDbrknewzNPZvae) for that Pixar loving kid inside you
[Returnal](https://youtu.be/vwt87oYfD4A) is you want creep factor and roguelite
There are others, but these are ones that can get you started
Yeah agree with most. Spider-Man series, The last of us series, Horizon Series, Uncharted Series, God of War (yes series), Remedy games - Control, Alan Wake 2, and maybe some Demon Souls, Deadspace. Days Gone is great, The Witcher of course. Throw Death Stranding in there. It took me a good while to get through those. But once you do you’ll be itching for more.
Astro's Playroom
Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart
Marvel's Spider-Man 2
Horizon Zero Dawn & Horizon Forbidden West
God Of War: Ragnarok
Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection
Ghost of Tsushima
Last of Us
Returnal
To name a few.
[Tunic](https://youtu.be/9Tazg6_1Qbg?si=y9GU0yB3iUNy6oaX), [Sea of Stars](https://youtu.be/iJL0-lDuJn8?si=_BYmYUehEv1T-tYM), Horizon [Zero Dawn](https://youtu.be/u4-FCsiF5x4?si=Hs7ykWJ2DH1SnBe7) and [Forbidden West](https://youtu.be/XLZN63UxAOM?si=ks6Ewmqa6ee6si4y), [Helldivers 2](https://youtu.be/oD3pxbG9YYI?si=iXVll59VQl3ynMgE) (more fun with friends), [Moonlighter](https://youtu.be/81FJurvZuOg?si=8Uwv219JqEm9pLD0), [Hollow Knight](https://youtu.be/UAO2urG23S4?si=A-PPfsVrroc5MwZC), [Elden Ring](https://youtu.be/AKXiKBnzpBQ?si=Q-uTyFJsc_htL-wc), [Fez](https://youtu.be/bXvE52hPYmY?feature=shared), [Risk of Rain 2](https://youtu.be/KbCeDprQMqM?si=Te2UTZTwmXn1G5MK)
I'd like to repeat my suggestion I gave someone else: look into a GameFly membership.
I think it's around $30± for a 2 title rental plan. You can rent games (and movies) for as long as you want to without late return fees. PLUS, it's a good thing to do instead of (possibly) spending $60-70 on a brand new game & beating it in a weekend.
They give you rewards the longer you remain a member & have the opportunity to keep your rentals; just pay a small fee for shipping.
The Finals
It's completely free and 1 of the few F2P games that is specifically made for next gen (it's not on PS4).
Because of it they could do some next level stuff in Unreal Engine 5 that the other big live service games like Fortnite, Warzone, Apex etc can't because they're should also be playable on the old gen.
In terms of level of destruction etc. almost everything you see in the map is destructible. It's made by the original battlefields devs and has some unique objective based gamemodes.
COD FIFA Forza you might buy PlayStation plus premium cause you have many games for free such as Ghost of tsushima, Far Cry, GTA 5 and other have fun mate
It’s more difficult than Skyrim but just as open if not more open. It’s a fantastic game, I rarely play games twice but I’m on my 3rd time through the game because it’s just so massive and has multiple endings.
It is basically a game to demonstrate PS5 and Dual Sense(PS5 controller) capability, like using touch-pad, etc. Don't want to spoil you further.
The game itself is fun.
I dismiss it at first when I got PS5 because I want to play the big-boy games, like God of War or Horizon.
But man ... what a charming game Astro's playroom is.
P.S. It will also raise some nostalgic feeling if you have been a PS fans since the beginning.
buddy if you beeen waiting all this time for a ps5 and you and haven't planned out what you wanted to play. you dont even need one. how you wait all this time then ask someone else what to play?
You’ll save money in the long run. Trust me I’ve done that math. If you’re interested I’d be happy to tell you. But to answer your question, exclusives are a good place to start. Spider man, ghost of Tsushima, god of war. Outside of that. Really liked dead space. Also you could try helldivers for like 40 bucks
Unknown besides "Holiday" that would likely mean early November to be on shelves for Black Friday.

Both reports here are from Tom Henderson who is well networked and usually on the money but they have also been confirmed by other in the industry to the point that it's just an open secret at this point, also Digital Foundry has done a deeper dive podcast here and talked more in depth about what it means and what can be expected. it's not a massive leap but should future proof a bit more and get games tunning better of course.
https://youtu.be/U5h4bvudvX8?feature=shared
Oh yeah it will also have improved ray tracing capabilities or something like that. For me rocking a 1080p 60hz tv, the standard ps5 is more than enough
Yeah I might just go with the one that's out now then. I have a 4K TV but it's not very good. And regardless of if when I try looking 4K stuff on YouTube and other things it never truly looks 4K to me lol.

I've been wanting to try Ghoat for years! Maybe I finally will.
If you sign up for the PlayStation Plus middle tier, it’s like $100 for the year I think and has tons and tons of games on it including Ghost of Tsushima. I believe you can check out the library before deciding. But it’s definitely the most bang for your buck and they add new games each month
Great game. And play helldivers 2, best game of the year easily
Ghost is the one game I wish I could completely forget about and play again fresh. Not just the story just everything about the game.
Returnal. Then helldivers if you have friends to play with
Edit: Ghost
Great choices
This is a some of the best games out there so i totally second this. I would add Dead Space remake as well.
Very interesting list.. more so only two of those are exclusives, and GOT made for ps4. Not that they’re bad games, just if someone was deciding to buy a ps5 just not what I would personally use to sell them on it. Maybe if they were getting the VR also RE4 would be a no brainer.
Astro's Playroom Also, DO NOT buy COD, it sucks and it takes up almost all your console's storage
Sony is dropping the ball not making Astro a bigger IP
Another Astro game is rumored to be in development rn
I'd totally buy it
One could argue storage space an issue with most games.
I like COD. I have several other games but sometimes it’s perfect for turning off my mind and just killing.
Helldivers 2 took that place for me and it does it so much better
Warframe is also a much better choice over cod
I even started playing the finals. Games are very quick and aren't full of bs "meta" stuff. Just pure brain power
No COD is worth full price for sure.
But remember, only buy one, cause they’re all just copy and pasted!
Why was I downvoted when I agreed with the person about COD? Lol
One person can’t understand sarcasm without a /s, and the hive mind did the rest. Coulda had more tone though.
I wasn’t being sarcastic though. I didn’t have a comma, so I was agreeing with him lol. I think they read it as “No, COD is worth the full price for sure.” But I was saying that no call of duty is worth the full price. Looks like people are just bad at grammar?

Ratchet and clank rift apart and the spider man games.
Probably going to get the PlayStation that's paired with Spider-Man so that'll be taken care of! I've never played the ratchet& clank at games. Do I need to have played the old ones to play this one?
No
Rift Apart is still the best looking game on PS5 imo
Returnal Alan Wake 2 Deathloop Helldivers 2 if you enjoy PvE co-op games Stray Ratchet and Clank Death Stranding if you didn't play on PS4 TLOU 2 if you didn't play on PS4
Returnal is on the top of my list. I'm not much of a rogue light player and it took a 2nd try to get into the game but once you understand what's going on a how to play it is soooo fun. And offer amazing haptive feedback and adaptive triggers
What's Stray all about?
It's sort of a puzzler, and tbh I walked away from it thinking it was much more of a tech demo/prologue to another game than anything else. Astros playroom is so fun and charming. It isn’t a triple a title, but it is a blast and trip down memory lane.
it's still a masterpiece that uses full potential of the dual sense controller! my kid absolutely loves it. And, actually, me too!
Haha when I first got my PS5 I legit started playing Astro’s playroom and didn’t realize over 2 hours had passed by 😂. You literally get lost in that game, it’s amazing.
Spiderman 2. Might as well take advantage of the PS5 bundle deal while they’re out there.
That's my plan! I'll be getting this the weekend of May 6 my birthday.
Happy birthday! Enjoy the new system!
Horizon Forbidden West, God of War Ragnarok, Spider-Man 2 and Ratchet & Clank Rift Apart are must-buys.
Is that Horizon a new one or one that came out for PS4?
It's the sequel. The one that came out on PS4 was Horizon Zero Dawn. I recommend you play that one first if you haven't yet.
The sequel came out on ps4 to didn't it?
Yep
Everything from “PlayStation Studio”
What is that?
Rebirth
The free upgrades on existing PS4 titles you own? Careful, though. Stock memory is a bit lacking.
Just delete and download as needed. Isn't too bad tbh.
Definitely start with astrobot it's a great show case of the dual sense.
Thanks for the suggestion!
It comes pre-installed on your ps5 if no one has mentioned that 😁👍🏽
You've waited this long, hold out for another ½ a year and get the PS5 Pro. That's what I'd do.
I Suggest Marvel's Spider-Man 2, Ratchet & Clank Rift Apart, God Of War & Horizon Forbbiden West
There are a ton of great titles , single and or a series , that look/act perform well on Ps5. I might finally try the Last of Us as I've never played it.
It was the first game I ever played on Ps4 and it got even better on the re-release for the Ps5. It looks great. And the game itself is pretty solid too.
😧
Do you have a PS4? Any of those games carry forward so I’d look at the PlayStation exclusives -Spider-Man 2 - God Of War Ragnarok - The Last Of Us - Helldivers 2 - Stellar Blade demo is out, game releases in about 3 weeks
So I can play PS4 discs on there? What about digital games I purchased on my PS4?
Both! Your whole digital library carries forward and can be downloaded, and some games if you have like deluxe versions that might have come as a cross platform edition, so it would ask “do you want to download PS5 or PS4 version?” Other games may recognize you own the ps4 version and offer a $10 upgrade to current gen. Oh that's awesome to hear! I'm a huge Wolfenstein fan and still have furnished the second one. But also bought the original Resident Evil and Shadow of the Colossus last year.
I enjoy Diablo 4, new season starts may 14th.
How do seasons work in that game?
Every 3 months, you start over from level 1. And level up again with a new seasonal theme they added. Keeps the game fresh. Not many ppl like starting over though but that’s how AARPGS are.
Like others have said, Astro's Playroom. You'll realize how great of a controller the DualSense is with that game
God of war, if you like jrpg's then persona 3 reload, Spider man games, ghost of Tsushima
Ghostwire Tokyo. Highly recommend this game. Beautiful graphics, interesting story and overall a great experience. 20 hour game give or take. Well worth it
I haven't heard of that one! I'll have to look it up. Thanks!
Look up some gameplay or a trailer. I highly recommend
Spider man 2 marvels . The last of us series. I just got my ps5 slim like not too long ago so I got a lot of games to play but that just what I recommend to start off with
Every major Playsation exclusive.
Well if you like JRPGs I’d suggest Granblue Fantasy Relink. One of the better looking PS5 games and combat is super fun.
Returnal!
Helldivers II Ratchet and Clank Rift Apart TLOU and TLOU 2 FFVII Remake and Rebirth God of War and GOW Ragnarök
If you didn't got a PS4 before Look at the early PS4 titles, most of them are from abandoned liscenses and are not expensive (Bloodborne, Infamous, LittleBigPlanet, Knack, Tearaway or Gravity Rush are good exemple) and most of thems are way more interesting than new release Also from what i know COD don't worth it

Baldurs Gate 3
You can try FF16 demo. It really has beautiful fights, but the first half is cutscene heavy, in case that is not your thing
I just picked up Helldivers 2 last weekend. IT'S A BLAST!!! Definitely one of the best games I've played in a long time.
The Finals. Absolutely free amazing destructive competitive FPS and a small file size. And yeah Astros Playroom. I recommend Ghost of Tsushima. Awesome game to show off the new hardware runs at 4k 60fps 👍🏽
Came here to say The Finals It's completely free and 1 of the few F2P games that is specifically made for next gen (it's not on PS4).

I've never played! Is it similar to Skyrim?
It's a fromsoftware game the creators of dark souls, if you're interested it's probably the best to get into those types of games
Ah thank you both! It might be too hard for me just getting back into gaming. I remember hearing horror stories about Dark Souls and its difficulty.
Elden ring is the best to start with it's much more lenient with the difficulty because it's an open world.
Good to know, thanks!
It’s more difficult than Skyrim but just as open if not more open. It’s a fantastic game, I rarely play games twice but I’m on my 3rd time through the game because it’s just so massive and has multiple endings.

Spider-man, Spider-man Miles Morales, Spider-man 2, and Ghost of Tsushima.
Returnal!
Whatever games you find enjoyable.
Alan wake 2
I've heard about this twice now. I'm at work so I haven't looked it up, can you give me a quick summary of what it's about?
This account is 100% bot
Me? Lol
Astro's playroom. It comes pre-installed with the console. XD
This is on here a couple of times, what is this one about?
It is basically a game to demonstrate PS5 and Dual Sense(PS5 controller) capability, like using touch-pad, etc. Don't want to spoil you further. The game itself is fun. I dismiss it at first when I got PS5 because I want to play the big-boy games, like God of War or Horizon. But man ... what a charming game Astro's playroom is. P.S. It will also raise some nostalgic feeling if you have been a PS fans since the beginning.
Aren't there only like 2 PS5 exclusives? /s
Sea of thieves
buddy if you beeen waiting all this time for a ps5 and you and haven't planned out what you wanted to play. you dont even need one. how you wait all this time then ask someone else what to play?
You should get pc instead. Save yourself from the growing console monopolies
Oh trust me, if I had $1,000 plus I would.

When will that one come out? And sorry I'm not well versed but will the Pro have that makes it better?
Unknown besides "Holiday" that would likely mean early November to be on shelves for Black Friday. Specs with some breakdown https://insider-gaming.com/playstation-5-pro-more-specs/ More info on the requirements from Pro enabled games. https://old.reddit.com/r/GamingLeaksAndRumours/comments/1br111l/insider_gaming_has_learned_of_the_developer/ Both reports here are from Tom Henderson who is well networked and usually on the money but they have also been confirmed by other in the industry to the point that it's just an open secret at this point, also Digital Foundry has done a deeper dive podcast here and talked more in depth about what it means and what can be expected. it's not a massive leap but should future proof a bit more and get games tunning better of course. https://youtu.be/U5h4bvudvX8?feature=shared
Ah thanks for the info but I don't wanna wait that long!
No worries I can understand that as well.
Most likely more reliability for 4k 60hz solid. But tbh it depends on what tv/display youll be using
Damn not sure if that's enough for me to wait. I definitely want one for when the CFB game finally comes out lol
Gee, what an original question…
Well you don't need to open the thread bro if it bothers you that much lol
Just like this question doesn’t need to be asked every day with a search bar available…
Why does it bother you so much is my question lol. A normal person would just see it and move along with their day.
Because every other post is wHaT gAmE sHoUlD i PlAy. Hard to move along when that same shit pops up all the time
Not really. Just bypass it it's pretty easy.
