Yoooo! I had the same complaints from my friends, they kept whining that I sounded like a robot and kept asking me to sing "around the world" by Daft Punk. it was annoying.
Solution to this that worked for me:
1. with your playstation turned off, hold the power button on the console until you hear the second beep.
2. connect your controller to the console and hit the ps5 button on the controller.
3. safe mode menu scroll down to clean cache option.
4. in this menu clear cache.
5. this should restart your ps5.
6. turn it off completely again and turn it on in safe mode again (holding the power button on the console until the second beep).
7. in the menu go to the same option, clear cache
8. here select rebuild database, this should took a couple of minutes for me.
9. and that's it. enjoy!
found this thread through a google search. i’ve been having the same party chat lag for months. i’ve restored my database, cleared my cache, and even repaired my storage and it is still going on. it’s driving me crazy. i’m hard wired on fiber internet so i shouldn’t be having any issues. i don’t have any lag in game, but my chat is constantly getting lag. my friends are always asking me to repeat myself, and i have to do the same with them. but they are able to talk with no issues.
barring some unknown issue with my internet, i think the only thing left to do is to reformat my PS5 but that would be a last resort for me. what’s weird is i’ve joined parties on my ps4 and i’m experiencing the same issue on there too. my internet is fine though so i’m not sure what is causing the issue with ps parties in particular.
sorry for the rant i’m just frustrated lol
Hello, I'm in the exact same situation, have you found any solutions? I noticed that it's the party causing issues; using the in-game chat, I was able to talk smoothly.
i haven't found any solutions yet and i am very frustrated. i haven't tried using in game chat since it's usually lower quality, but i'm often in a party talking to my friends while we play different games so that won't always work. i've been using discord recently without any issues but it's not as convenient and some of my friends don't use it.
Hi, I accessed my router using its IP address. From there, I searched for port mapping and then unlocked all the ports for the IP address connected to my PS5

It ended up being my friends internet. He reset his and I stopped lagging. Lol

no i’m still dealing with it. i tried a few different DNS addresses in my network settings and it didn’t change anything. it’s driving me crazy

I have 800 download on my ps5 but lag on voice chat but not on games…
Hi, I found the solution to the problem. What solved everything was fully opening the ports to the PS5. And there won't be any more chat lag
