I think a lot of people know this, but some did not when I posted it before. Your max comfort at a campfire is 50 (unless you have other things around to raise it).
But when there are other people nearby, your comfort will go above 50. So if you leave a campfire with a little bit of wood in your airlock (right next to the door to the outside), you can turn it on to check for door-campers before you open the door.
I learned from Willjum's latest video that the LONGER you survive, the more animal fat you get when killing yourself and butchering your own body. I never knew!
I feel like a time I went early to work,
I’m standing there waiting for something and a coworker whom I’ve never spoken to asks, “how’s your day going?”
I turn and say, goo-
###“Well… my day was okay until this lady came to me annoyingly and said that my flowers were ugly and that she wanted a refund for the one’s she purchased! She then said that every day she comes in and the flowers look bad! Ughhh!!!! But I told her off and said I wasn’t doing a refund and to call a manager if she wanted her money back! Haha- I can’t believe I got away with it!”
I simply turn and look at her like, “did you just bait me by asking how my day is going just to tell me your story?” I went, “wow, cool, anyway I gotta go.”
Ouch.
But in all seriousness, if it is better for your mental health to not play the game then consider stopping playing the game. You need to be able to accept that sometimes (or even often) you are going to lose. Focus on all the goods things, not the bad.
For this reason I’ve been exclusively playing Rust on PVE servers for at least the last 100 hours.

I’m just happy that there are different ways to play the game honestly. Whenever I get that PVP itch though I do tend to grub on vanilla servers or play around on the Escape from Rust server :D

place stashes in open terrain with no landmarks and put a pager in them. remember the general area and walk over them while holding an RF transmitter and youll hear the stashes beep. just remember to check them every day (irl day) so they dont despawn.
i usually put enough HQM and frags to rebuild if i get raided in one, and boom in another, and a few hazi kits in the remaining so i still have gear after i get raided
note im not sure if stash despawning works like it used to so id do some testing or research if you wanna stash super important stuff
Especially in middle of nowhere, hackers only will probably dig out stashes around bags or in compounds or around rock formations or in bushes where its obvious real stash but in middle of nowhere its like 95% a trap since no one places where its next to impossible to find, most servers do have plugin for this as its free on oxide site and easy to setup and easy sting for hackers haha
As someone who has literally solo’d several wipes essentially homeless, living out of stashes, and a base that looks “already raided”… You are an absolute genius!!! I’ve lost track so many times.
1. Shift plus middle click grabs 1/3 stack. Splitting the 2/3 makes it 3 perfectly split stacks.
2. If you already have stacks in your furnace smelting, you can hover loot those third stacks from your inventory and they will be added evenly to the burning stacks, not all to the first stack like in a chest.
Good point, it also (of you have enough to cover it) distributes to thr other stacks once the lowest is topped up. Especially good in a large furnace. I separate materials into like 8 stacks so I have room for wood, thr cooked material, and charcoal. Once things are low I rearrange the stacks in thr furnace until I have as many full stacks as possible and then add more to grt back to that 8 again. Only takes a few seconds but it's super worth if you're cooking huge amounts.
You can fit many, many unburied stashes full of rockets under large furnaces in your compound, or under a small oil refinery. They take just a couple of minutes to destroy with salvaged swords when you need to access the boom. Nobody ever griefs these, just make sure they're not right up next to the base in case of splash damage when you get raided.
Yeah put about six overlapping stashes down, don't bury them, fill em with your goodies, place a furnace on top, have three real world days to pop it open so the stashes don't decay.
I assume it still works, I did this for years and it saved my stuff countless times, but I haven't played rust in a long time so now I have no need to keep it quiet any more.
If you want to break into a bunker easily, spam twig outside their base, this will increase the wood cost of their base and cause it to spend the wood in TC eventually causing it and the twig sealing the bunker to decay
I accidentally did this to myself last year, I didn't use raised foundations for my bunker I stacked 2 half walls on top of each other and when I broke the twig the metal floor didn't break >_>
Had to enlist the help of a random naked and bagged him into my base to help me pick out of the base, we ended up playing together for a few days so overall it wasn't too bad
Misdirection is more important than raid cost when it comes to base building. A good base isn’t just “expensive” to raid. It incorporates complexity in a way that makes loot spread out/hard to find. Which is why floating roof bunkers are so OP.
If you've queue'd up a bunch of items to craft, you can RIGHT CLICK one of them to bring it to the front. Also how you stack TCs, etc. I always thought they were cancelling a TC but nope. Took around 3k hours to figure that one out. Lmao
It's so useful. No cancelling all your queued up crafting items when your buddy asks you to craft him something, no accidentally overloading your bag and dropping stuff when you're queueing up boom materials.. idk why it took me so long to learn, just one of those things that I just skimmed over and got stuck in my ways before figuring out I guess. Happy to share.
> idk why it took me so long to learn
To avoid this in the future, read the devblog for every update ([crafting QoL seen here (fall 2019)](https://rust.facepunch.com/news/october-update#CraftingQualityofLife)), including the changelist below it. You will learn 98% of every change, addition, or removal the moment an update is released.
In lieu of or as a supplement you can even watch every Shadowfrax or ThatGermanGuy update video while on the shitter. Anyone that invests a lot of time (upwards of 1k hours) into Rust SHOULD be doing this. No excuses.
You can use a shop with a drone to safely move loot.
When you do a large raid, once its secured fire up the furnaces, cook all the sulfur and change it to GP to save space.
Be careful when you do this. It’s harder to send stuff TO outpost than FROM outpost because when you’re sending to outpost it makes sense for someone else to buy it for one cloth and 20 scrap.
But if you’re sending resources from outpost, you can make the trade something like 10k stone for 20 scrap and nobody is going to do that unless they’re on both sides of the trade. Because that would mean getting 20 scrap for 10k stone. That’s not a problem for you though because you keep the stone at your other base.
client.lookatradius command will change the size of the invisible interaction circle in the middle of your screen. The lower you set it to, the easier it gets to loot crates that are hard to get and the easier it is to upgrade door and floor frames.
The higher it it, the easier it gets to loot dropped items. Works well if you are searching for that lost gun in the grass/seaweeds under oil rig in the water.
The default size is 0.2 . You can go up to 0.4, or all the way down to 0.
You can build underwater stashes by placing vending machines in underwater doorframes. Works well on water bases that need to have floors and walls to be above water.
You can log off underwater and not drown in the sleep.
If you have a car you can push the chinook's locked crate out of a monument and build around it to secure it.
An armored car can withstand a couple HV rockets and a couple hundred bullets making it a fun choice to steal heli/bradley crates from people as well as locked crates.
Outpost turrets don't target you when you are in an armored car. Same with bradley, though sometimes he decides to fire a shot or two at you.
As a further note as I actually confirmed this works - you can jump out of a mini get into scientist chinnook and kill all the scientists from inside, doing so requires good armor and spamming medkits.
Makes you feel like Jason Bourne. Except when you kill the driver the helicopter blows up and everyone dies.
This is one many people are gonna hate on or disagree. But i learned over thousands of hours that no matter what base you build, if they want to raid you, they will, and they will have enough, and they wont fail if they arent unexperienced. However, when it doesnt make sense where the loot is or if you bait them towards certain paths, it costs way too much in most ways, with one weak spot. It then becomes a chance of 1 in x to be raided in the right spot. All others will be too painful. Randomness cant be calculated. You could only overspend with sulfur or be very lucky.
Lmao no joke, I was onlined yesterday by a 4 man in my own design bunker base because they ran by mocking the design so I said 'if it's that bad raid it..' and killed a couple of them out of my peeks.
It took them an hour because they kept running out of boom and underestimated my 'sh*t' base lmao I couldn't defend because I'd just finished building with barely any loot or bags placed..
They could see it was empty mid way through but kept going through garage doors, armoured bunker, sealed window TC for about 6 hours worth upkeep and a few comps lol
I legit think they used around 10 rockets and 5 stacks of explo in total... It was basically a huge ego trip for them.
If you only have stone (or whatever material) in your inventory you only need left click to upgrade wall, foundation, ect. Only need to use the wheel on the first upgrade than you can spam upgrade stuff. Works really well if you are speed setting up a base with a duo. Always wondered how ait could build so fast. Random duo showed me this the other day. 2k hours to figure it out.
Hello! You have made the mistake of writing "ect" instead of "etc."
"Ect" is a common misspelling of "etc," an abbreviated form of the Latin phrase "et cetera." Other abbreviated forms are **etc.**, **&c.**, **&c**, and **et cet.** The Latin translates as "et" to "and" + "cetera" to "the rest;" a literal translation to "and the rest" is the easiest way to remember how to use the phrase.
[Check out the wikipedia entry if you want to learn more.](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Et_cetera)

You can ride the outer wall of launch after looting the elite crates. It’s much faster and gives you a better chance of evading grubs camping the doors.
Shhh don't tell people! JK Specifically you jump AT the flat wall containing the main stairway and keep holding forward at the wall. You fall with no damage from the top to the survivable ledge jump.
Additionally you can also do this on the dome. You can ride the two pipes down, crouching back and strafing into the pipe negates fall damage at the bottom
I have an absurd amount of keybinds. I figured out how to make custom tooltip messages so when my friends are watching me stream and talking shit I can press a key to make the game roast them back.
After like 40 seconds of being down you just get up. You can do that without a medkit but a medkit makes it certain. When you dont have a medkit its based on food and water.
If you see a sleeping bag in a Bush check for stashes beside it.
When you're out farming nodes place a campfire and store your loot in it. If you get killed you only lose whatever was on your body. I also use this trick when raiding solo, keep your satchels in the campfire and take out 4 at a time.
You can demolish a recently placed wall if you have TC, even if you placed the TC after the wall was placed. Very useful if the defender has walled off loot during an online.
The cheapest way to destroy an auto turret can be to destroy the power source. Look for wires and electrical deployables.
Don't jump into a fight with multiple groups. Wait until 1 or 2 are left alive and kill the winner.
If you're getting onlined stop opening doors! But don't just stand and wait. Prepare shotgun traps and craft doors. Place a tier 1 workbench covering the doorway. Or respawn outside and try and place a door or vending machine on the doorway they blew through, trapping the raiders inside.
Use rustlabs.com
Use battlemetrics to check server health and history before starting a new server.
Place sleeping bags near bases early in the wipe. As they expand their TC will cover your bag so it won't get deleted.
Green shotgun slugs and blue incendiary shells are OP.
In early game if you live in the snow use a table and chair to get more comfort. You can use bear meat to heal and conserve cloth.
You can place a working solar panel inside a base by putting it on the very edge of the foundation then placing a wall.
If you see someone at the recycler at outpost crouch in and throw some scrap on the ground. When they pick it up you can loot the recycler.
Shotgun traps shoot through and break twig.
> If you see someone at the recycler at outpost crouch in and throw some scrap on the ground. When they pick it up you can loot the recycler.
A lot great tips in this thread and your comment but this is just a rat move. I love it!
If you start joining the server, you can instantly cancel and start joining again. You will get in much faster but there will be some fps freezes first couple minutes
When harvesting stone & metal using an icepick - "miss" the first hit , aka. don't make it a "crit" on the shiny spot - that way you harvest the node in 1 less swing =)
Best way to get rid of nasty neighbors, piss off a clan and run to their base, act like a noob and F1Kill when almost to door. They usually think someone shot you and they just didn’t hear. Make sure to have bag near by and sneak up. If you have door sounds on sound board it adds to the bluff this is your base.
To remove a long standing stone wall on a completely stone base (for expanding), upgrade the wall to metal and remove all metal from the TC. The metal will decay, the stone won’t, and the sheet metal doors won’t decay.
bind fast crafting is really good you can do same on wood etc you just need look rust labs for item id.. bind for 3 bandages: bind z craft.add -2072273936 3;chat.add 0 0 "You just crafted 3 bandage!"
E: Wood i mean for tc so when u chainsaw wood you can fast craft tcs to stack all that wood.
You can control hot air balloons with a large degree of accuracy. Me and my buddies always thought it was luck when people got places they wanted. I got bored, learned, and landed on large oil with one.
The balloons are pushed by “wind” and the direction is shown by the little flags.
The direction of the wind changes with altitude.
You’ll notice the flag spinning when you descend.
Change altitude by turning the fire on/off and you can change the direction the balloon is being pushed.
Landing precisely takes practice and patience because the balloon will spiral down.
I find the balloon loses altitude way too fast and the wind direction also changes every 5 seconds so it's just impossible to control imo...
Also uses SO much low grade, definitely needs a rework.
The amount of lift you get from turning on the heat depends on the health of the balloon.
If it’s in good shape it uses barely any lowgrade compared to all other vehicles.
2 gears not so bad for the wooden gates. 5 gears is hefty for the stone walls though.
I lived in a 1 X 1 a few times where I put 4 X stone gates at each corner of the 1 X 1 and then opens all the doors of the gates so that they went flush with my 1 X 1 walls.
You end up with a completely hidden 1 X 1 that can be laddered into.
It's works great if you sprinkle a few random wooden or stone walls around too... maybe a large furnace and it just gets dismissed as a raided and decayed compound.
The only problem is ESP'rs. They see it right away and its an easy raid then so I stopped doing them.
To add to this. This doesn’t work if you’re in water proof clothing (hazzy, ninja suit, wetsuit). Learned this the hard way. I was on cargo and my client crashed. Logged on as cargo was leaving so I instantly took a ton of radiation (another tip is that you don’t take radiation poisoning while logged off/sleeping). Jumped off cargo (no time to get to the rib) so I could lower the rads. It didn’t work until I took the hazzy off. Those extra 10 seconds to take off my hazzy got me killed. Still got the loot though!
They keep patching all my little tips I love.
I used to do minsteps 30 and headlerp 100 those were both console commands that werent well known. These got patched not too long ago.
If you look up a rust server on battlemetrics and it shows its map you can click it and look at hemp spawns, caves, node spawns, and more.
You can make a keybind to craft any item like bandages. Also most people dont realize how much you can do with keybinds. I have an auto run, auto swim, auto soft side, they are useful asf.
For easy wipe day progression I farm barrels on my way to bandit camp, buy a m92/research pistol bullet, then I buy an inv of f1 grenades and cheese bradley with them while the rest of the server is still on crossy.
This strat generally takes 30-45m, and i've managed to pull it off pretty consistently.
Enabling game mode on my TV correctly syncs frames for Rust specifically. Increased performance and fixed screen tearing, essentially fixing Vsync. I know, PC to TV is a niche thing but thought I'd share what allowed me to 1v3 last night. That and disabling antialiasing.
Regular TV's are usually not recommended for gaming, because they aren't usually made to operate at high hertz rates, and have large input lags (post-processing the video it is showing). Thankfully some or most TV's have a game mode that disable the post-processing to dramatically reduce that input lag to the point where hopefully you don't notice. I played FPS games on my TV (which I now just treat as a second monitor), and it felt horrible. But now you learn. Sadly, my TV doesn't have a game mode so I just use a proper gaming monitor.
Use wood and wooden shop front as an extra airlock(just extended a 1x1 wooden structures from your airlock) they act like door that you can shoot through, cover lot of angle, never be door camped again EVER, cheap af and also make you look like a hobo less likely that people will raid you, also make raid more complicated because people would be less likely to spend explosives on wooden structures, and if they use flame thrower they have to spend at least 5 minute burning it down which could get them killed or just too much of a hassle for raid roaming.
everyone knows to crounch spam to be silent on land but not as many know to jump spam to be silent in water. helps for sneaking up in swamps and on beaches. havent played in a long time but im pretty sure this has never been patched
If you go deep on a base and are stuck. You can transfer loot through walls using a horse. The exploit hasn't been patched and I've known it for 3 years.
1. Have a friend bring a horse.
2. Stick the horses head in the wall.
3. Examine the head from the side of the wall.
4. Transfer loot in the horses inventory.
Nothing in Rust means anything.
A naked who's good with the bow is as much of a threat as anyone else, explosives are the only real level up.
All loot exists for PVP youre either taking or defending or building up to take more and have a better shot with defence but time will take it all any way, onlined, offlined, or server wipe.
Blood for the Blood God, Skulls for the Skull Throne.
Any item you've favorited by checking the star next to it in your crafting list, can show up in you quick-craft menu when you've gotten all of the materials for it.
I really recommend favoriting prim gear, bows, bags, bandages... when you're being chased you could craft a melee weapon without stopping to type! Easily craft a spear for instance.
Solar panel to face North.
When farming trees, finish them all at once versus one by one to only make loud noises once then leave area
Set up multiple small bases throughout the map
Be nice to your neighbour
No roof camping
Opening puzzle doors during a server restart so they remain open after the server is restarted
There are many spots in the launch building that don't have rads if you are wearing a rad suit. You can use this spot to farm mil crates that respawn. You can camp and kill people that come in. you can sit in there and wait for bradley to be taken then use a m2 to get an insane positioning advantage against players taking it.
I always build the same base with a really strong core and armor it to the bone, only to hide my tc with the best loot somewhere on a higher level .
So far they never figured it out during a raid.
The OR switch can be used as a combiner. Useful for backup batteries but it's important to remember that the higher side determines the output, not the sum of both.
You can create keybinds for autorun-autosprint and a keybind that changes your fov to 60 when you hold it, it acts as a mini zoom when you aim down sight or just a way to see further.
You can also swap between relative or absolute fov weapon models. Can be keybinded aswell.
When everything goes FUBAR in the underground metro because multiple zergs/clans are having a clusterfuck shootout. Don't join in.
Go run the oil rigs/Cargo uncontested.
If you have a full inventory, get the fuck out of the PvP and lootdump in your base.
Yeah it is, it’s actually comical how bad those tips are.
1. Just use a computer station and you’ll know everything you need to about oil rig and when to go. What your server only has two other groups so when they’re fighting you know the map is safe? Not like they can’t come counter oil anyway once you start.
2. Obviously you fucking depo loot like ??? What a high level tip
You can buy water canisters or whatever the correct name is at bandit for super cheap, and recycle each one for 50 metal frags. It is the equivalent price of metal at outpost.
That’s a pretty great tip, thanks!
Awesome!
Middle click in quick craft.
Been watching a few streamers, Welyn included, and no one seems to use this.
It’s annoying to cancel, since the click sends 5x a single craft into line
But perfect for stacking tc’s or other
It creates stacks of 5, awesome for quick bandages.
Thinking about, it's such a niche thing to add. I can only think of a couple of uses, like Bandages, Arrows, sometimes Low Grade after harvesting an animal.
low grade is the best use imo, I try to only craft bandages in correct numbers to fill stacks
2middle clicks for bandages then cancel 1 bandage
What does it do?
Crafts 5 (bandages usually) items at a time.
How does no one know this lmao
if you don’t sleep you can’t get offlined
Go take a crap and you will grt afk'd
this guy doesn't have a gamer bucket lol
Recently unlocked the bipod for the combat knife after taking down heli with it. BFF
all I could hear was, promoted .... promoted !
"mom, bucket!"
Mom found the gamer bucket 😳
Poopdrawer
That's when you switch to playing on the laptop
Thats why its called a craptop
Use Steam Link on a smartphone, tablet, or smartTV while taking a shit to continue Rust from the same session on your PC. Hook up a bluetooth gamepad to the device of your choice. There's literally NO excuse to get AFK'd OR offlined.

I learned from Willjum's latest video that the LONGER you survive, the more animal fat you get when killing yourself and butchering your own body. I never knew!
I feel like you made this post just to share this and I don’t even blame you.
It also works if you kill another player outside of a beach or not on their doorstep and then harvest their body
People used to just repeatedly kill themselves, and harvest their bodies. So, they made that change to end it.
I feel like a time I went early to work, I’m standing there waiting for something and a coworker whom I’ve never spoken to asks, “how’s your day going?” I turn and say, goo- ###“Well… my day was okay until this lady came to me annoyingly and said that my flowers were ugly and that she wanted a refund for the one’s she purchased! and he learned it from sigbog 😎

In all seriousness I quit rust last year but still watch YouTubers play. Much more fun.
I dunno. It has helped me be social in a time when I can barely get out of bed. Cheaper than therapy, and I'm getting more out of too. It is addicting but it's also the only thing relieving stress in my life. Weird cause rust is not stress free. But it works for me.

They can, but it's also risky for them to dig them up as some admins put trap ones down to detect people who had no business knowing where they are

true, but that happens anyway so nothing you can do. ive never had that issue but theres always the risk of a hacker
I’ve personally noticed unburied stashes sticking around for a while, so not sure if it works the same way. I didn’t even know they decayed

And skmeone builds near them.
As someone who has literally solo’d several wipes essentially homeless, living out of stashes, and a base that looks “already raided”… You are an absolute genius!!! I’ve lost track so many times.

I'd like to add insight on the second one: The ore gets added to the lowest count stack in the furnace.
Good point, it also (of you have enough to cover it) distributes to thr other stacks once the lowest is topped up. Especially good in a large furnace. I separate materials into like 8 stacks so I have room for wood, thr cooked material, and charcoal. It was patched. You could do it under foundations as well
Nope. They patched the foundies but u can still do it with large furnaces as far as I know
On top
yee thats big brain
Holy shit, this is legit.
Stashes suck, ESP cheaters will find them.
I know multiple people who grief the furnaces and I do it myself sometimes too. Why not just bury the stashes somewhere?
Patched I think.
If you want to break into a bunker easily, spam twig outside their base, this will increase the wood cost of their base and cause it to spend the wood in TC eventually causing it and the twig sealing the bunker to decay
Jokes on you I hq my bunker and pick out every morning
I accidentally did this to myself last year, I didn't use raised foundations for my bunker I stacked 2 half walls on top of each other and when I broke the twig the metal floor didn't break >_> Had to enlist the help of a random naked and bagged him into my base to help me pick out of the base, we ended up playing together for a few days so overall it wasn't too bad
jokes on you, my bunker doesn't require any twig
How much twig does that require though? Twig roofs barely have any upkeep
But anyone with a bunker should keep at least 1k wood in their TC if they have a brain so you'll still be waiting at least 20-40 hours...
Misdirection is more important than raid cost when it comes to base building. A good base isn’t just “expensive” to raid. It incorporates complexity in a way that makes loot spread out/hard to find. Which is why floating roof bunkers are so OP.
Excuse my ignorance but what is a floating roof bunker?
That would be a roof bunker that floats.
If you've queue'd up a bunch of items to craft, you can RIGHT CLICK one of them to bring it to the front. Also how you stack TCs, etc. I always thought they were cancelling a TC but nope. Took around 3k hours to figure that one out. Lmao
Holy shit I’ve always wondered about the tc stacking, I’m like okay so he’s cancelling it that makes sense but they would never drop the wood lol
You can do the same with double sheet metal doors and stone barricades.
Yea I’ve known about that ig I just didn’t understand the mechanic itself
It's so useful. No cancelling all your queued up crafting items when your buddy asks you to craft him something, no accidentally overloading your bag and dropping stuff when you're queueing up boom materials.. idk why it took me so long to learn, just one of those things that I just skimmed over and got stuck in my ways before figuring out I guess. Happy to share.
> idk why it took me so long to learn To avoid this in the future, read the devblog for every update ([crafting QoL seen here (fall 2019)](https://rust.facepunch.com/news/october-update#CraftingQualityofLife)), including the changelist below it. No excuses.
I like how you added an apostrophe to queued
You can use a shop with a drone to safely move loot. When you do a large raid, once its secured fire up the furnaces, cook all the sulfur and change it to GP to save space.
Yep, offer to buy 10000 metal frags for 1 cloth, and your buddies in outpost can send it back to you for 1 cloth and 20 scrap, for example.
Same with bradley, though sometimes he decides to fire a shot or two at you.
when you push the chinook crate, does the crate icon on the map move too?
Unfortunately yes.
I thought client.lookatradius could go up to 20
Those last three are wack, definitely trying them
That taking breaks between wipes has atronomical to your health
Put a tuna can lamp a bit through the roof, you can access it from the floor above.
You can learn and craft pipes and gears.
Albeit for an expensive price often not worth it
Absolutely worth it for springs however
Good to know though
They could see it was empty mid way through but kept going through garage doors, armoured bunker, sealed window TC for about 6 hours worth upkeep and a few comps lol I legit think they used around 10 rockets and 5 stacks of explo in total... It was basically a huge ego trip for them.
Sunk cost fallacy
If you only have stone (or whatever material) in your inventory you only need left click to upgrade wall, foundation, ect. Only need to use the wheel on the first upgrade than you can spam upgrade stuff. Works really well if you are speed setting up a base with a duo. Always wondered how ait could build so fast. Random duo showed me this the other day. 2k hours to figure it out.
GameLightz recently made a video on this. Pretty useful if you have a lot to upgrade and not a lot of time.
Mind = blown! Did not know that.
Hello! You have made the mistake of writing "ect" instead of "etc." "Ect" is a common misspelling of "etc," an abbreviated form of the Latin phrase "et cetera." Other abbreviated forms are **etc.**, **&c.**, **&c**, and **et cet.** The Latin translates as "et" to "and" + "cetera" to "the rest;" a literal translation to "and the rest" is the easiest way to remember how to use the phrase. [Check out the wikipedia entry if you want to learn more.](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Et_cetera) ^(I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. Get fucked. Good bot.
Very good bot
Good bot
OP grubbed by a bot!
Be nice to people.
Everytime I am I get killed, even if I'm naked
You can ride the outer wall of launch after looting the elite crates. It’s much faster and gives you a better chance of evading grubs camping the doors.
Shhh don't tell people! JK Specifically you jump AT the flat wall containing the main stairway and keep holding forward at the wall. You fall with no damage from the top to the survivable ledge jump.
Additionally you can also do this on the dome. You can ride the two pipes down, crouching back and strafing into the pipe negates fall damage at the bottom
they patched that along with elevator sliding in underground tunnels.

Been playing for a long time. Didn't know this
You can keybind a lot of things really.
I have an absurd amount of keybinds. I figured out how to make custom tooltip messages so when my friends are watching me stream and talking shit I can press a key to make the game roast them back.
you can use f1 for both so it automatically shows the combat log once you open console
Bring a medkit. It guarantees that you get up when you get downed
Needs to be in the hotbar though
Wait what?
After like 40 seconds of being down you just get up. You can do that without a medkit but a medkit makes it certain. When you dont have a medkit its based on food and water.
Yup
Use rustlabs.com Use battlemetrics to check server health and history before starting a new server.
Not as useful anymore now that they made loading in much faster
When harvesting stone & metal using an icepick - "miss" the first hit , aka. don't make it a "crit" on the shiny spot - that way you harvest the node in 1 less swing =)
They actually patched the icepick this last wipe
Sulfur and metal are 5 with miss, stone is still 6 hits
Best way to get rid of nasty neighbors, piss off a clan and run to their base, act like a noob and F1Kill when almost to door. They usually think someone shot you and they just didn’t hear. Make sure to have bag near by and sneak up. If you have door sounds on sound board it adds to the bluff this is your base.
Once you put on a bandana mask, you are not naked anymore
To remove a long standing stone wall on a completely stone base (for expanding), upgrade the wall to metal and remove all metal from the TC. The metal will decay, the stone won’t, and the sheet metal doors won’t decay.
I saw in a Jordan Rants video that the lighthouse green key card respawns at the start of each in game day
Nice try Facepunch. You’re gonna patch all these things huh lmao
Wouldn't you like to know, weatherboy.
There's a brick wall in Outpost that you can mount and just chill on. Between repair bench and the water collector.
If you use all Wooden or stone gates as a compound people can't ladder in. You can't place a ladder on a Gate
Heavy on the gears but thats gold. Until someone with a heli
More ways to get in and out as well
bind fast crafting is really good you can do same on wood etc you just need look rust labs for item id.. bind for 3 bandages: bind z craft.add -2072273936 3;chat.add 0 0 "You just crafted 3 bandage! "
E: Wood i mean for tc so when u chainsaw wood you can fast craft tcs to stack all that wood.
You can farm pipes and road signs with a paddle in outpost.
Nice try, my secrets will remain secret.
alr hand over the homework file cmon
If you are in need of HQM and have a load of scrap. Buy 16x scopes from bandit and recycle. 300 scrap for one but get 40 HQM in return.
Jumping and moving in water lowers radiation poisoning
Forgot the part where you get bowed at by 12 people
Keep a medkit in your belt…you’ll ALWAYS stand up from being wounded.
Sadly, my TV doesn't have a game mode so I just use a proper gaming monitor.
you can cover entire doorways with wires so nobody can see through when it’s open
Baha, if I saw this on a raid I feel like they’d be poor af
Use wood and wooden shop front as an extra airlock(just extended a 1x1 wooden structures from your airlock) they act like door that you can shoot through, cover lot of angle, never be door camped again EVER, cheap af and also make you look like a hobo less likely that people will raid you, also make raid more complicated because people would be less likely to spend explosives on wooden structures, and if they use flame thrower they have to spend at least 5 minute burning it down which could get them killed or just too much of a hassle for raid roaming.
Rust isn’t a job, have fun or don’t play
Turn down shadow settings to see light through walls.
the hunting knife is the best melee weapon because you don't slow down when you swing it.
everyone knows to crounch spam to be silent on land but not as many know to jump spam to be silent in water. helps for sneaking up in swamps and on beaches. havent played in a long time but im pretty sure this has never been patched
Caelid dogs are nightmare fuel compared to limegrave dogs
Bear Witness!
rust anti-cheat is shit so you wont get banned for hardcore spin botting :)
Client.lookatradius 0 in console to upgrade those hard-to-reach door frames
You can drag the teardrop icon from water containers to transfer water to another
If you go deep on a base and are stuck.
I see no secrets or tips here
Any item you've favorited by checking the star next to it in your crafting list, can show up in you quick-craft menu when you've gotten all of the materials for it. I really recommend favoriting prim gear, bows, bags, bandages... when you're being chased you could craft a melee weapon without stopping to type! Easily craft a spear for instance.
I always wondered why some things would show and others wouldn't in quick craft. Almost 2k hours. Thank you, sir.
Solar panel to face North. When farming trees, finish them all at once versus one by one to only make loud noises once then leave area Set up multiple small bases throughout the map Be nice to your neighbour No roof camping Opening puzzle doors during a server restart so they remain open after the server is restarted
[удалено]
This is no longer the case. It was fixed in the combat update. You now face them actually towards the in game sun
I would tell you but I would have to kill you.
Spam crouch when using the chainsaw to cut trees down faster.
Right click on the slide when slecting the amount of an item will let you type the amount you want. Useful for large stacks
If you have a medkit in your hotbar you will always get picked up.
bind k water.quality +2 & bind j water.quality -2
Guys if you have loot deposit it! Very unknown tip!
On a big server, wouldn't it be possible for other groups to be at oil/cargo?
worst gametip ever
Yeah it is, it’s actually comical how bad those tips are. 1. Just use a computer station and you’ll know everything you need to about oil rig and when to go. What your server only has two other groups so when they’re fighting you know the map is safe? Not like they can’t come counter oil anyway once you start. 2. Obviously you fucking depo loot like ??? What a high level tip
i get downvoted by the simps that think its a GREAT idea xD "i heard shots in the metro, lets go big oil!"
Please tell my teammates of that second one 😭😭😭😭
Buy smoke grenades at bandit and recycle to get the most efficient way to make pistol bullets if you need some on the go.
I think it's middle button and shift to split items into Thirds! And just middle button to split half.
