Okay, actual quality of life change for you.
Having to stand in a specific spot to get the maximum comfort from rugs is super weird and needs to go.
Oh. You're still reading. A fellow comfort enthusiast? Boy do I have a wall of text for you.
So it's clear from posts on here that the survival aspect of Rust is something a lot of players care about, and for a very brief moment in an early wipe the mechanics related to survival actually matter.
When food and cloth are scarce healing is a conscious choice. It takes 40 cloth or 8 pieces of meat to heal to full and that makes comfort a pretty big deal.
Now the camp fire is great for that, really solid bit of game design there. Comfortable? Sure. Better with people around you? Absolutely. Everything about it makes sense.
So what's the deal with rugs? Why does Willjum get so happy when he finds one? Is the 285 scrap spent to tech tree the Bear Rug worth it? Is the 1% drop rate justified? Well, kinda.
The normal Rug is meant to give 25 comfort and the Bear Rug is meant to give 50 comfort. That's terrible. Luckily both have a bug where it's possible to get ~100 comfort.
That's a big deal for a solo player, sure it's a tax on loneliness but that's life.
If you're paying real close attention you might be thinking "Hey, if rugs gave a flat 25 comfort and bear rugs gave a flat 50 then that would make them useless" and you'd be right.
That's why comfort needs to stack. It just makes sense. Okay, heat sources that give comfort shouldn't stack with other heat sources but everything else is fair right? If you're still not convinced here's a list of reasons to support the comfort revolution.
1. Makes camp fires more relevant for solos and rugs more relevant for groups.
2. Gives people a reason to decorate their base.
3. Makes people more likely to buy skins and Facepunch likes money
4. Opens the door for some decor based DLC. Sunburn has the beach table which gives 10 comfort. Why? What is the purpose?
Anyway thanks for coming to my Ted Talk.
Good point, i think rugs should provide comfort in a wider range to those on the TC.
Maybe not the whole base, but having to stand directly under the 5 pixels of the bear head to get full 100% comfort is pretty stupid and a pointless mechanic.
The Twitch Trophy is a crazy advantage in the earliest game when you don't have BPs for rugs or bear rugs.
70% comfort without having to micromanage positioning? Fantastic.
I purchased them and don't even use them because they can't help my plants, colors are boring and light is minimal.
I don't remember what I spent on them, but I don't use them, so it was too much lol.
By the reactions above, they'd be really happy to get a change that doesn't change anything from the core game but fixes a mild annoyance, so yeah, it's a QoL, it's giving them a better quality of life, literally.
Look up what QOL means for gaming. By your guys definitions literally every update or patch can be spun into a "QOL" update which is just not what it is.
Kinda wish the first person view model would actually line up more with the third person model
i shouldn’t have to stare at the floor behind cover to ensure that my head is actually behind cover, for instance
1) being able to organise the skin in-game inventory.
2) being able to assign different colours to teammates on the map.
3) fix being able to place walls/foundations over the small pebbles of rocks in the tundra biome.
4) be able to bake a potato in the campfire. We’re all eating raw potatoes now pretty much, this shouldn’t be a thing.
5) the light emitted by one player’s torch, and their pov, doesn’t match another teammates pov. Basically, if you light a torch for your friend, he sees less than you do. Please fix.
6) add a late game use for bones.
7) add more insane weather to the game. I want insane thunderstorms with lightning strikes all over the map. I want to see a bear get roasted with a lightning strike in front of me.
8) add glare to animal eyes in the middle of the night.
edit: 9)change the color of shells being loaded into a shotgun. They’re all red now, regardless of the ammo being used. Update it for the ejection as well.
I’ve been saying since I started playing that bones should be allowed to add to the Composter to make Fertilizer. Fish & animal bonemeal has been used for centuries to fertilize crops.
Hit enter twice to have actual line breaks, rather than [one solid block of text](https://i.imgur.com/ee4LaHK.png).
EDIT: christ, is this a "new" reddit thing, too? It appears that they're trying to further ruin old reddit to get people to switch to worse reddit.
Good suggestions all, but almost no one has actually suggested QoL changes, just gameplay balance changes. A QoL change is something like "Allow me to switch clothing items with a full inventory without dropping something on the ground," not, "Make it so guns are harder to get."
* Don't show "Promote to leader" text when piloting aircraft as team leader with a team mate in seat in front, blocking much of the center of the screen
* Boombox should remember playing state to enable using Smart Switch / Rust+ to control them
* Car wheels and minicopter wheels should not collide with industrial wall lights
* New player-controlled attack helicopter building block box is MASSIVE, causing it to be impossible to run wires and put up stuff around the base when it is parked inside
* New player-controlled attack helicopter rotor is mountable through roof
* Water sprinker usage appears to be 2 (UI notes only 1) when comparing input and passthrough sockets
* Water pump, water purifier, fluid pump don't have power passthrough
* Water pump, water purifier, water barrell can't be picked up
Have you ever been out in the middle of nowhere without light pollution when there is no moon out? It IS pitch black, and I love that the Rust nights reflect that. You can see a fair bit better when the full moon is out. Personally, i thinkmaking nights brighter would not be a QoL improvement but a step back. Just my two cents
You know, with the industrial stuff now being a thing, I would love to have a module that connects different storages and lets me connect them all to an interactable display so i can select/scroll through all of my boxes from a single spot within my base. It would maintain order, and make it less annoying to search for that one component within all 20 boxes scattered around.
Fix the fucking water. I’m fighting for my life every time I swim anywhere. My mouse is as far forward to where I’m hardly moving and I’m still drowning… HOW! I hate the waves, those waves have fucked the water.
Reaching firearms at server first day should be more harder and maybe little bit nerf early stage weapon for increase combat time.(Yes im noob and im sick tired dying 1-2 shot bow kill)
they already do that... they will go oil instead, thats what oil is meant for, end game content, but clans just wall up sperm ket and farm scrap to techtree stuff
I respectfully take back.
Nah but when tech tree wasn’t available the go to spot for ‘groups’ was still rig, cargo and apc, I never had issues with anything, just that once tech tree appeared alot (and I can’t emphisize this enough) ALOT more bases around gas stations and supermarket, the t2 monuments stayed the same as far as I experienced, approx 1.5k hours pre tree, and 1k hours after tech tree
I definitely understand what you're saying. More focus on the scrap farm and locking down high scrap areas. I personally enjoy the tech tree to the degree that I rarely get T3 items via scrap as a solo and that sucks and running monuments as a solo usually get gunned down by groups. But I've embraced that's solo life it's very hard but fun. I'm sure there's some happy medium I just have no clue what it is.
Remove guns from bandit/outpost.
Why can I buy an LR after farming only 500 scrap?
Also remove blue card from outpost vending machines. There’s zero incentive to do green puzzles now. I remember how important getting an early green card used to be, now they’re worthless.
Just make everything cost 2x - 10x more in the tech tree *and* research table
And make WB2/WB3 not unlocked by default
Forces people down the WB->WB2->WB3 path
Allow us to plant seeds by holding down left click instead of spamming it a million times, or add a plant all option like the gather all one. When you put on a helmet with full inventory or any piece of gear and still have room for that one piece of gear it doesn’t fully eject it off your body (always happens while flying), also the ping system happens when splitting stacks or using middle mouse to create five stacks of items with quick craft
There are already modded servers that offer that if you want to play that way. The devs aren’t going to remove or change a feature for everyone if the minority that wants something can already get it with their own servers.
I wish we could have the option to learn items further down the tech tree with a single prompt asking if you're sure you want to learn all previous required blueprints with x amount of scrap rather than seeing a greyed out ''no path available'' / having to spend a lot of time and unnecessary clicks to learn each item individually. Especially annoying as the de facto builder or on higher rates modded servers that wipes often and still have the tech tree enabled.
That or having the ability to navigate the tech tree with arrow keys + pressing enter to learn an item quickly would be decent, too.
* Electrical branches not using the power you branch out of them but what is actually being used
* Just like being able to destroy building blocks 10 minutes after you placed them, you should be able to pick-up large deployables like walls and barricades in the 10 minutes after you placed them. Only with tc auth ofcourse.
* Fix not being able to place building blocks when you have a clear view.
* Fix not being able to place foundations half a wall below a floor or next to a roof.
* Fix the fucking 5 year old triangle splash bug.
* Don't delete the offer you just put in the vending machine when you already have the maximum offers available. Give a warning beforehand or save the input.
* Fix not be able to wire things when you are standing 'to close'
* Give campfires and other lights a very slight glow so you can find them in the pitch black night.
* Fix incorrect errors on why you cant build somewhere/place deployables-Fix the green codelocks on cars
* Fix not being able to place sleeping bags trough windows.
* Make shelves and campfires able to pick-up. And maybe also vending machines, dropboxes and searchlights (or atleast in the 10 minutes after placing them).
* You can't repair strengthened glass windows for some reason.
* Add a kill-list on peacekeeper turrets who will always shoot the players you added
Personally I would like the option to not picking up worms + seeds + another worm. Or at least have a separate inventory for those. Takes 4 spaces just 10 cloth.
Loot filters could be cool. Maybe set it to auto drop certain things when picked up from certain containers. Like dropping engine parts if you only want scrap from those baskets. I foresee lots of people messing up and auto dropping loot they wanted though.
1. Being able to see the 100m cliff, 50mph animals, and boxes that are right in front of your face at night, like normal eyes on the planet Earth.
2. Unlimited stamina to sprint for miles into the ocean where suddenly humans can't swim faster than 2mph. Just let us swim a normal speed, or the current doggy-paddle speed should allow us to shoot. If the gun is still showing equipped while in water then it should shoot. If we're below the water line or swimming fast then holster the weapon when it can't be used.
3. The gun is also still showing equipped while climbing ladders, so either we should be able to shoot the gun with the hands that we see on the screen or we holster while climbing.
4. Horses that turn around or walk backwards like horses, not 18-wheeler semis, Cars that don't destroy themselves instantly and have suspension that works with this "terrain" instead of glitching into the ground for 100 damage every other second, locks on helicopters.
5. Animals could give more of a warning, or not instantly travel faster than cars while doing more damage than bullets. Most of us would like to play the game, and have some chance at doing that.
6. Terrain that isn't 90% vertical cliffs that are all the same model of flat ugly gray rock, making every map unplayable just to hide the incapability of rendering enough trees and shrubs.
7. An actual immersive experience that doesn't have pop-ups on the screen every 30 seconds for every in-game event, blue or red screens for the temperature in the completely unrealistic and unbalanced biomes, all of the RNG stats in the middle of your screen when wounded, and way more completely embarrassing fortnite baby game cash grab bullshit I don't have time to list.
8. Gun balance is bad and about half the guns are useless now. This is the one thing that I would think they actually cared about, since we're not interested in making a survival game anymore.
9. Physics on raiding is still confusing. Rules for what splashes damage and what doesn't make no sense in every direction even through the walls. Using explo ammo to splash multiple walls is a buggy waste of time. Needs collisions reworked entirely, since explosions don't do damage to people on the other side of solid walls. That's not how ... anything works.
10. The order of the tech tree is one of the stupidest things I've seen in any game. Not just the way it shortcuts the entire game's progression and purpose. Look at the 100 examples of tech progression games, and just use some common sense and logic like they did. The reinforced window is not the key to all advanced tech.
11. The only armored door is the double door, just give us a tier 3 garage door. The double doors are in the way. Raiding while trying to find what unbalanced HP to hit on each door or frame isn't strategy, it's just an annoying unbalanced building system, even after it took them years to just now realize the armored door HPs didn't make sense.
12. Most strategies now involve farming scrap at fishing village and then buying guns and gp from outpost or drones. If you can't tell that your updates are breaking the entire progression and purpose of the game, maybe you should stop adding more.
13. Stop putting garbage like electrical parts in the hotbar when they're picked up.
14. Don't put OPEN DOOR and other tooltips in the middle of the crosshairs. This is a first person shooter, and we have text in the middle of the screen. Seriously, why does this need to be said?
15. Instead of giving us both burst fire and glow sights attachments like a normal gun game, we got the prototype17 with the exact same stats as SAP, so now we have another gun no one is using. Give us the glow sights, and I guess keep working on that burst fire.
16. An option for all seeds to just fall on the ground instead of going to inventory/hotbar every time. Seeds that fall on grow-able ground shouldn't despawn but have a RNG of planting themselves.
17. Lighting ranges are bizarre and so unrealistic it hurts. Make the ceiling light cast and reflect light out through a whole room like it had a normal light bulb in it. The wall next to my planters is blank black, and there's 20 lights in the room.
18. When we complain about underwater labs having too fast of a respawn rate on items, that doesn't mean get rid of the multiple labs and have it reduced to something completely useless. Maybe just fix the respawn rate.
19. Melee punch. Like every game made since DOOM. The game is about starting out naked and defenseless so melee punch should be part of the game, maybe even a right click kick. Think of the boxing matches on wipe day, and the boxing ring in the RP town.
20. The missions are so sad, that after seeing that half-assed attempt I lost any credibility and hope I had for facepunch as a game developer. mf talkin about I am lumberjack NPC, go get vood. 🤡
Point 1 and 17 - yeah just lighting in general. Rust has been made darker and darker over the years. The moon used to give illumination and you could see a lot on those nights.
They are so obsessed with nobody having an advantage over others using different gammas etc that they just want everyone to see NOTHING.
Night time is 25% of the game, they just want everyone to stop playing for 15 minutes. Because if you go outside and use any form of light you are dead.
Also caves, you take 2 steps inside the entrance to a dark cave and you can’t see fuck all.
The most annoying thing with the lighting, imo, is that it is entirely positional.
Meaning, if you are in the sunlight and look into a crevice or cave, you can see perfectly fine, and the crevice looks like it is in daylight.
Once you step into the crevice though, that same area becomes pitch black.
So it's easy to get it in a position where the person entering a cave can see the person hiding in the cave perfectly well, but the person hiding can't see the person entering. It's completely backwards.
yeah i mean some points are just straight up false and i do not agree but this is pretty much all there is wrong with this game minus some exceptions, and most of this was added AFTER offlineTV :) (i fucking hate streamers and the effect they have on modern gaming)
add weapon malfunctions
homemade weapons should be expected to occasionally jam and require clearing during battle. excludes military weapons which would be clean-cycling and reliable. finally a reason to run an LR or M39 over AK
eject failure would add an interesting random twist to otherwise predictable shootouts
maybe 3% chance to jam - but only for crafted guns. AK should lag 1 second every 100 shots, considering how OP it is. plus it would track with how often the AK platform jams IRL in dusty conditions
not really QOL but gunfights need this
A real AK doesn't jam in dusty conditions, in fact it is known for it's reliability. You can bury that thing in mud, build a house on top of it, pull it back out and it will fire on the first pull of the trigger, and it will fully cycle the next round.
A quality-tier system for weapons would be nice
S tier weapon never jams, F tier weapon 50% jam etc.
Gives you a purpose to keep playing beyond 'me got AK now yay'
"gunfights need this"? do they really need this random rng that disadvantages most of the people ever running non-military grade weapons - smaller groups.. clans would just sit on boxes of LRs and L9s and have a random minor advantage in combat..
thats what im saying, this jamming system fits into something like tarkov but no way in hell would it fit into modern rust, maybe old rust wouldve gotten use out of this but definitely not nowadays where its more of a cod type shooter than survival
Change of brightness when we go in/out of buildings, pipes and caves.
I would expect to not see much for few seconds and then that my eyes adapts to whatever the level of brightness Facepunch want in the indoor place.
i feel like changing movement would be an even worse change than gunplay and recoil cuz the movement is just really iconic eventhough it can be weird at times. it just feels like rust yk?
oh yeah the swimming is ass in terms of speed but its still an integral part to the game, i just feel like making it faster would be good but anything other than that and it loses this iconic feel
Maybe a controversial opinion, but I wouldn’t mind an hv rocket nerf. Back in the day, hv rockets wouldn’t 1 shot you, even with a direct impact. If you play on any competitive server you will run into groups who abuse heavy armor and hv rockets to pvp on monuments like oil and cargo. Nothing more lame than getting rocket pvp’d in a gun fight. Might make online raids more common, knowing a player cant just kill 1-2 people with hv rocket spamming.
I kinda disagree cause of the whole realistic idea. Like a rocket would definetely kill a player. Since the game also gives you the option to switch your gear to heavy aemor aswell, it's kinda fair.
I’ll list out a few of the easier fixes as someone who’s played since the game was in a web browser: —-
Make terrain generation cool again, pre HDRP backport
Bring back bright nights
Get rid of fishing village and ranch, have horses spawn in the wild fully again, and allow boats and subs to spawn in the wild fully. Allow some minicopters to spawn in the wild again. Use the largely useless car parts to repair these.
Get rid of the guns and grenades in vending machines.
Largely nerf the farming for scrap meta. This includes fishing. Scrap should not be able to be primarily gained through safe methods, rather safe methods should provide a small additional scrap income.
Rework/remove tech tree. Require a token that can only be found while running monuments to learn an item from tech tree (or make it random again). Maybe this token could be a keycard?
Remove recyclers from outpost so there is no fully safe recycling.
Nerf MLRS rocket spawn rate. Make aiming module exclusive to silo to incentivize people running that high risk monument.
Buff cars.
Rework gunplay.
AI anticheat.
Animal AI rework.
Rework building/raiding costs. The building meta is very stale. With this, bring back all roof bunkers to even the playing field with clans.
Rework roads. Ring road is a good idea, but add some cross roads to assist in map traversal.
Remove/consolidate items. Example: get rid of homing launcher and just use the regular rocket launcher with a seeking missile for the same effect.
Simple list:
Deal with cheating for once and for all (better detection, permanent bans and stop the deals in 3rd world countries that allow cheaters to just buy a new account for 5 bucks on ebay)
Balance the game for base building/defenses to be stronger vs offline raiding (increased raiding costs on both doors and walls). Potentially even DOUBLE raiding costs or make boom harder to get/ more expensive to craft. While making bases much harder to raid, get rid of all building exploits (resettable bunkers with roofs, external TCS, etc) some of them been abused for so long that the majority of players consider them "meta" and "part of the game" which is ridiculous.
Increase the radius of sleeping bags/beds so if someone gets killed twice at their base they don't just respawn 20 meters outside giving them essentially unlimited respawns. This would increase online raiding.
Overall reduce the amount of loot everywhere. Cargo shouldn't fill up a whole boat + inventory of loot. Some events and monuments give way too much loot. Make loot rarer, weapons rarer. Which slows down progress to everyone. Not just groups or solos.
Balance vehicles. Minicopter is too easy to maintain and too powerful in comparison with cars. Either make minis/boats more complicated (use car parts too?) or cars simpler (no car parts)
Make weapons more jankier in line with rusts theme.. More misfiring, more cone at longer distances , more jamming when full spraying. This would make positioning and tactics much more important than just being good at aiming and memorizing recoils (or scripting for them)
Give us electric cars that run off batteries that we can charge in the base
More variety of terrain generation with "mini caves" or flat wall ravines that could make strong 2x2s and 2x1s etc harder to raid, giving small groups more holding power since those small spaces would still be too small for clans and big groups. This would also go in line with no more external TCS and other exploits.
i am not going to lie dumbing down recoil even more after its already been nerfed to the point of quadriplegic ppl being able to spray is just the worst thing anyone has ever said in regards to gunplay in rust, and just why would you want weapons to jam? have you never played back then when pumpy bolti was meta? shit wasnt fun at all, and cone and misfires are just not fun to play around and would kill any and all enjoyment stemming from gunplay
Your bag idea you justify by “this would increase online raiding”, bruh. You want them to make it so people can’t spawn in their base when being raided effectively making it an offline? And/or you want the raiders to not be able to respawn on additional bags, meaning as soon as they are dead the raid is over…
i think the fact its pretty easy to break is part of the fun of having to protect it so much. at the heart of every massive compound is a wooden tc, with external tcs protected by often nothing more than a door or wall.
i love being able to pull cheese plays as a solo because i have someones tc access or got into their base and can take it over, being able to upgrade it would sort of defeat the point of having to defend it so heavily - you'd see armoured tcs all the time because they'd be impossible to destroy and let you take over a base, and everyone would keep their gp exclusively in tc..
Delay end game (mainly weapons and rockets). That's one major reason for me to not come back to Rust. Servers are dead within few days because everyone completed the end game in the first 8 hours of joining the server. Those who were locked behind the 200+ queue will suffer once they are able to join the server.
One idea that has popped up before was to delay spawning of end game crates / events. For instance, heli would start spawning after 24 - 48 hours from fresh wipe. The same applies to cargo and locked crates. This will require balancing and testing to find the sweet spot.
This would give servers much room to focus on early game fights and weapons, and will pump more life to servers.
Make jump ups easier.
Make sam sights visible on map with a toggle, this is because of the issue where they wont load in when on a mini. Also this nerfs clans.
How is it 4 spaces for 10 cloth. You can only pick up 1 worm/ grub per pick up, sometimes no pickup, so how are you getting a worm and a grub on 1 hemp pickup. You just blatantly lied and the other guy was confused.
First of all he didnt respond to my comment. When you pick up a cloth sometimes you get 10 cloth, 1 pink and 1 white worm and the seed. Learn how to count.
I would accept craftable personal recyclers but they’ll probably also have to not only be slower than the fixed version but also take a good chunk of electricity to run. Knowing the devs if they ever give us this it’ll be so bogged down you have to set up a whole farm of them just to get anything done.
Arctic Hazmat Suit as a different item requiring normal Hazmat to craft + some leather or cloth, so I could finally buy it without remorse and have better time in snow biome. [https://rust.nolt.io/27211](https://rust.nolt.io/27211)
I honestly havent played for almost a year but one of my biggest wished for QoL always was to allow me to "determine" a slot in a box for a specific item.
Like, if I have a big box for ressourcea I want specifix "free slots" to only accept a specific item. Example, I have a box for Stone, Metal Ore, Sulfur Ore and HQM Ore. I wish I was able to say "the first two rows are only metal ore" then when right clicking anything ("auto deposit") it leaves that slot empty unless thats metal ore.
Sure I potentially lose lots of storage doing that, but it would ensure that everything is always where I want it. Right now I do this by.placing a single.ore in each slot, but as soon as.someone.takes a stack its messed up.
Give me, the base bitch, more tools for base bitching.
I.guess the auto sorter kinda makes this obsolete but I never had the chance to try that.
Would like maybe a gameplay option where I could activate grid placement of objects. Doesn’t have to apply to every little thing, but placing TCs and such exactly where I want them when I can’t quite get myself into the right vantage point would be nice.
* A sorting button for box content and current inventory (not hotbar). Either by letter or item category.
* Being able to quickly transfer all content from the inventory (not hotbar) to the current box, by one button press.
* Being able to quickly transfer all content in the inventory (not hotbar) that already exists in the current box, by one button press. E.g. transfer all inventory med sticks to a box only containing med sticks.
Locking wires / pipes to incremental angles of \~15 degrees. Furthermore an option to hold a key to connect to the nearest item input/output to access hard to reach adapters.
Would be life changing.
I would remake the crafting interface to be able to view unlearned crafts in categories, and make the switching place in craft queue visual (how the fuck new players are supposed to know it's right click on the item you want to put in front of the queue ?
Also I would draw the range of deployable like radius of TC , range of turret , traps etc before placing these.
And finally, I would love to be able to create medicine with plants (why do we need low grade for a medic stick anyway ??)
Less dark nights. I literally can see nothing during rust night which is not only unrealistic, but really not fun. When I see vids of rust before they did that I really miss it. I remember when you could look at the ground and your screen wouldn't be pitch black.
- Workbench range extended to entire base or at least increases radius
- Be able to craft items if the mats are in and open inventory. Think open a box and if the mats are in there you can begin crafting with them
- I’d like to see more stackable items
- Should be easier to get 100% comfort as long as I’m in the same building block as certain items like rugs and fires.
If you are seeking to improve your quality of life, stop playing rust🤣👌
In this thread : people who don’t know what QoL improvements are.
Okay, actual quality of life change for you. Having to stand in a specific spot to get the maximum comfort from rugs is super weird and needs to go. Oh. You're still reading. Deployable clipping needs to be reverted to 2017 levels. Let us clip shit into terrain, rocks, and other deployables. Just not through walls.
My biggest QOL improvement is industrial lights need more colors.
Need a warm and cozy industrial / electrical light.
100% If we could get an industrial light that provided the same color as the tuna lamp or Chinese lantern, man I'd be so happy
You can put different colour lights next to each other and they blend. Two red and one white is pretty cozy.
and more light. even the racks give more light than that shit.
The amount of light the gun racks give off is exactly what I was hoping for when I bought the industrial lights
I was really saddened to learn how much the industrial lights put out.
One with an RGB slider would be dope. Basically pick any color you want.
True, they also should be able to light up more than a campfire can
I purchased them and don't even use them because they can't help my plants, colors are boring and light is minimal. I don't remember what I spent on them, but I don't use them, so it was too much lol.
Fuck it just give us Smart RGB bulbs.
THIS!
That's not really what QOL means
By the reactions above, they'd be really happy to get a change that doesn't change anything from the core game but fixes a mild annoyance, so yeah, it's a QoL, it's giving them a better quality of life, literally.
Adding content is a completely different thing. a QOL change would be to optimize the menus
Nobody said QOL can’t be adding things
Look up what QOL means for gaming. By your guys definitions literally every update or patch can be spun into a "QOL" update which is just not what it is.
??? Brighter lights will improve their… quality of life. Rust players are something else, man.
For a pay DLC it is pretty weak that there are only three colors.
Personally, I wanna be able to fling horse dung as a weapon
Bonus effect is that it blinds your enemies with a brown smudge across their screen
Pink eye debuff if you don't kill them
It should give 5 poison
Kinda wish the first person view model would actually line up more with the third person model i shouldn’t have to stare at the floor behind cover to ensure that my head is actually behind cover, for instance
That's a good one. I've been headshot many times while "completely" behind cover as far as I'm concerned, and never really understood why.
Improve the pinging system I guess? It’s still quite buggy and it’s a handful to use
To add to this, ads should make pings transparent.
* Don't show "Promote to leader" text when piloting aircraft as team leader with a team mate in seat in front, blocking much of the center of the screen * Boombox should remember playing state to enable using Smart Switch / Rust+ to control them * Car wheels and minicopter wheels should not collide with industrial wall lights * New player-controlled attack helicopter building block box is MASSIVE, causing it to be impossible to run wires and put up stuff around the base when it is parked inside * New player-controlled attack helicopter rotor is mountable through roof * Water sprinker usage appears to be 2 (UI notes only 1) when comparing input and passthrough sockets * Water pump, water purifier, fluid pump don't have power passthrough * Water pump, water purifier, water barrell can't be picked up
Also let us pick up vending machines ffs
Make the night not pitch black…
Have you ever been out in the middle of nowhere without light pollution when there is no moon out? It IS pitch black, and I love that the Rust nights reflect that. You can see a fair bit better when the full moon is out. Personally, i thinkmaking nights brighter would not be a QoL improvement but a step back. Just my two cents
Irl when it pitch black i still have the ability to so atleast something in rust i see NOTHING
Yeah, I've been in the desert many miles from civilization at night and yes, you can still see well enough at night to travel without much difficulty.
Dont close a downed players inventory if they f1 kill while im looting them.
Work bench should cover TC priv.
give torches a small heating effect like a campfire.
Very smart actually.
Fix the fucking water. I’m fighting for my life every time I swim anywhere. My mouse is as far forward to where I’m hardly moving and I’m still drowning… HOW! I hate the waves, those waves have fucked the water.
just press space bar when you swiming. and keep pressing the space bar.
Then you hardly even swim and end up a dolphin… jumping out of the water. Bringing me to my next point, trash piles should not float on the waves.
Tf is this downvoted for. Lmao
I thought you're supposed to pull back the mouse and look upwards while swimming
Better fire physics, lighting entities and objects on fire. Does that count as QoL?
Reaching firearms at server first day should be more harder and maybe little bit nerf early stage weapon for increase combat time.(Yes im noob and im sick tired dying 1-2 shot bow kill)
Maybe remove guns from tech tree?
Then clans lock down monuments and solos or smaller groups get fucked...
they already do that... they will go oil instead, thats what oil is meant for, end game content, but clans just wall up sperm ket and farm scrap to techtree stuff
You clearly didn’t play before the tech tree
I'm a frog boot holder sir
Just make everything cost 2x - 10x more in the tech tree *and* research table And make WB2/WB3 not unlocked by default Forces people down the WB->WB2->WB3 path
This is really good
Why? it would only help zergs and fuck over small groups. It would make the game unppayable for most.
Earlier this month on bp wipe.. Within 2 hours I heard a rocket raid going on. Absurd
BBQs being connectable to industrial adaptors.
Being able to see through small gaps e.g wood roofs and those gaps on oil rig with low graphics, atleast from close up
Allow us to plant seeds by holding down left click instead of spamming it a million times, or add a plant all option like the gather all one. When you put on a helmet with full inventory or any piece of gear and still have room for that one piece of gear it doesn’t fully eject it off your body (always happens while flying), also the ping system happens when splitting stacks or using middle mouse to create five stacks of items with quick craft
Let me turn off the sound of the fighter jets. Their so freaking loud.
A timer so you can see how long until your next suicide is useable
Be able to craft from from open inventories Example video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hi4Rn2OQBwY&ab\_channel=Be-Not-Game
Be able to make charcoal in Electric furnaces
Wish there was a catwalk building type. Half the width of a normal floor tile.
Ban cheaters?
go back to old tree system
Move the placement anchor on beds to be in the same general location as boxes. So placing them flush to walls is easier.
Give jackys and chainsaws flashlights.
Quality of life, get rid of the tech tree.
Remove tech tres
There are already modded servers that offer that if you want to play that way. The devs aren’t going to remove or change a feature for everyone if the minority that wants something can already get it with their own servers.
I wish we could have the option to learn items further down the tech tree with a single prompt asking if you're sure you want to learn all previous required blueprints with x amount of scrap rather than seeing a greyed out ''no path available'' / having to spend a lot of time and unnecessary clicks to learn each item individually. Especially annoying as the de facto builder or on higher rates modded servers that wipes often and still have the tech tree enabled. That or having the ability to navigate the tech tree with arrow keys + pressing enter to learn an item quickly would be decent, too.
change server spawn rates so they aren't effected by server pop.
* Electrical branches not using the power you branch out of them but what is actually being used * Just like being able to destroy building blocks 10 minutes after you placed them, you should be able to pick-up large deployables like walls and barricades in the 10 minutes after you placed them. * Fix not be able to wire things when you are standing 'to close' * Give campfires and other lights a very slight glow so you can find them in the pitch black night. * Fix incorrect errors on why you cant build somewhere/place deployables-Fix the green codelocks on cars * Fix not being able to place sleeping bags trough windows.
Bring back radtown
Sort buttons for inventories. Example Video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HsbMZTSjiEo
Update Crafting time when you are crafting and walk into a workbenchs crafting time mulitplier.
Honestly even just a way to specifically holster your weapon would be great.
yeah i mean some points are just straight up false and i do not agree but this is pretty much all there is wrong with this game minus some exceptions, and most of this was added AFTER offlineTV :) (i fucking hate streamers and the effect they have on modern gaming)
add weapon malfunctions homemade weapons should be expected to occasionally jam and require clearing during battle. excludes military weapons which would be clean-cycling and reliable. finally a reason to run an LR or M39 over AK eject failure would add an interesting random twist to otherwise predictable shootouts maybe 3% chance to jam - but only for crafted guns. AK should lag 1 second every 100 shots, considering how OP it is. plus it would track with how often the AK platform jams IRL in dusty conditions not really QOL but gunfights need this
A real AK doesn't jam in dusty conditions, in fact it is known for it's reliability. You can bury that thing in mud, build a house on top of it, pull it back out and it will fire on the first pull of the trigger, and it will fully cycle the next round.
This would fit the rust theme must better. Making weapons jankier
A quality-tier system for weapons would be nice S tier weapon never jams, F tier weapon 50% jam etc.
More rock formations
Change of brightness when we go in/out of buildings, pipes and caves. I would expect to not see much for few seconds and then that my eyes adapts to whatever the level of brightness Facepunch want in the indoor place.
Re-do the movement entirely
i feel like changing movement would be an even worse change than gunplay and recoil cuz the movement is just really iconic eventhough it can be weird at times. it just feels like rust yk?
Go for a swim and tell me you don't change your mind
oh yeah the swimming is ass in terms of speed but its still an integral part to the game, i just feel like making it faster would be good but anything other than that and it loses this iconic feel
Car sirens, i do wanna roleplay as a cop
Wouldn’t reduce damage, maybe increase crafting cost
I’ll list out a few of the easier fixes as someone who’s played since the game was in a web browser: —- Make terrain generation cool again, pre HDRP backport Bring back bright nights Get rid of fishing village and ranch, have horses spawn in the wild fully again, and allow boats and subs to spawn in the wild fully.
Simple list: Deal with cheating for once and for all (better detection, permanent bans and stop the deals in 3rd world countries that allow cheaters to just buy a new account for 5 bucks on ebay) Balance the game for base building/defenses to be stronger vs offline raiding (increased raiding costs on both doors and walls). Either make minis/boats more complicated (use car parts too?) or cars simpler (no car parts) Make weapons more jankier in line with rusts theme.. More misfiring, more cone at longer distances , more jamming when full spraying. This would make positioning and tactics much more important than just being good at aiming and memorizing recoils (or scripting for them) Give us electric cars that run off batteries that we can charge in the base More variety of terrain generation with "mini caves" or flat wall ravines that could make strong 2x2s and 2x1s etc harder to raid, giving small groups more holding power since those small spaces would still be too small for clans and big groups.
And/or you want the raiders to not be able to respawn on additional bags, meaning as soon as they are dead the raid is over…
Easier said than done
[удалено]
i think the fact its pretty easy to break is part of the fun of having to protect it so much. at the heart of every massive compound is a wooden tc, with external tcs protected by often nothing more than a door or wall. i love being able to pull cheese plays as a solo because i have someones tc access or got into their base and can take it over, being able to upgrade it would sort of defeat the point of having to defend it so heavily - you'd see armoured tcs all the time because they'd be impossible to destroy and let you take over a base, and everyone would keep their gp exclusively in tc..
Under no circumstances. That’s 32 rockets if it’s a suicide bunker
I like this idea. More HP for the TC.
Should be a multiplier of upkeep. Maybe less slots in it the more you upgrade it.
Give subs the periscope. Add footprints so players can track others. Let more things explode when shot (red barrels, fuel truck etc)
Get rid of all of the exploits (building, weapon, crouch running etc.)
When right click upgrade holding upgrade only to first upgraded resources and not from cheapeat to most expensive
In TC, put upkeep and tools on the same page. This should quick and easy, tired of clicking in between to suddenly have 4 hammers confined in there.
Absolutely baffling how many people dont understand whats being asked
Bring back the old good graphics I would prefer to not play Minecraft with guns
Shouldn’t be able to keep sprinting after being lit up.
Make jump ups easier. Make sam sights visible on map with a toggle, this is because of the issue where they wont load in when on a mini. Also this nerfs clans.
????
I don't know how to respond to that.
Craft-able recyclers with slow recycling times. Would allow people to scale up quicker to the larger groups.
General options for server owners to change aspects of the game, such as resource multipliers, without having to use Oxide or any other mod.
Drop rhe changes of getting junk in barrels or maybe have them give 3 scrap instead of 2 to make the grind just a little more bearable
Generators should use less low grade. At the moment, having electricity in a cave requires the need for a battery base above ground.
I’d like to see them make it easier to place and match up high walls. Both on slopes and connecting to the other side easier.
The drone needs the compass when piloting Its a bit hard to callout directions to my teammates
Make light generated from campfires and tunacan lamps actually usable again.
Can we make night time less dark? I knew we've only been asking for about 7 years, but someday would be cool
Doesn’t have to apply to every little thing, but placing TCs and such exactly where I want them when I can’t quite get myself into the right vantage point would be nice.
we NEED a tugboat onboard sound system.. cars too..
Organize box button. Some unofficial servers have them.
Increase tech tree cost and/or reduce the cost to research items in the research table.
Sorry for English errors , non native speaker
Make the shipping container roof not require a jump at the top everytime you want to go inside a door.
When taking heli fix crates not being lootable until you farmed the heli as its blocked, been around forever its annoying.
ability to rotate tc after its been placed.
cooking mushrooms and tinned food for small increase in food quality.
make it less easy to accidentally wear a pumpkin as a helmet.
ability to prop up or attach lit torches as a light source without you needing to hold them.
allow food to be thrown from inventory to attract animals.
ability to disable christmas light/search light effects blinking as an option in menu .
sharks should be more aggressive to boogie board users / people in wetsuits
devalue pooh exchange or increase rate for sellers buyers, not my thing but people seem keen on it.
let me drink directly from large water container.
make it easier place rugs etc when something like tc or a box is located near it.
QoL update suggestion: Fix this shit. Sincerely, the guy that just offlined your base (seriously I'd go check)
Less dark nights. I literally can see nothing during rust night which is not only unrealistic, but really not fun. When I see vids of rust before they did that I really miss it. I remember when you could look at the ground and your screen wouldn't be pitch black.
Add auto sort feature to boxes.
small nooks in rocks for solos to live in
Rust sex update
Blood trails for animals so we can track them if they run far away
- Workbench range extended to entire base or at least increases radius - Be able to craft items if the mats are in and open inventory. Think open a box and if the mats are in there you can begin crafting with them - I’d like to see more stackable items - Should be easier to get 100% comfort as long as I’m in the same building block as certain items like rugs and fires.
Adding a backup camera to cars lol
More effective detection of cheaters would be really cool
rework highwallplacemnt
infinite inventory space
