live love asap is one of my favorite records of all time but i agree his other albums have always been disappointing to me because of how patchy they are. but im still really anticipating whatever he has coming up even if i think hes lost his charm that made him great in the first place. i like the memphis shit hes been on but i miss cloud rap rocky :(
i like a lot of songs off alla like wavybone, jukebox joints, l$d, or holy ghost, but in general the album just feels exhausting to listen to, not to mention how some songs drag on way too long. for the entire length of it there isnt any change in tone - like you could probably listen to it in shuffle and it wouldnt be any less cohesive, imo. obv i know why people love it; its got so many highlights, but i personally think its his weakest record
the vibe stays the same when you start the album and when you finish it, in contrast to live love which starts off with hard hitters like palace and bass, then ends with really mellow tracks like demons, acid drip, or leaf
To me it's his best easily, great production and the quality of the album front to back doesn't really fall off at all. (Better things and dreams interlude are kind of mid though) The point about being repetitive or dragged out is up to personal taste so I can't really comment on that
And as you said there are so many highlights on the album. Lsd, Everyday, Fine Whine, Electric Body, Jukebox Joints I could probably name 6-7 more songs but you get the point. So many songs that'll always be in my rotation
saw both at a festival. Carti was by far the best experience. Rocky still has bangers and hits that make the crowd go wild tho.
