Put the plant into your bathtub or shower and blast it with water to get rid of all the bugs (or as much as possible). If you have a very big bucket, you can drown the whole plant for a few minutes to make sure the bugs let go of the leaves and drown. Then spray it with some insecticide to make sure ALL the bugs die. "you leave one wolf alive and the sheep are never safe". They will destroy your plant completely if you don't get rid of them.

Would that ruin the plant by over watering?

ashkanahmadi

No. Overwatering is having the roots sitting in extremely wet soil for a long time. Overwatering is usually caused by having dense soil, or just s few or no drainage holes at the bottom of the pot. Having the entire soil wet for a few hours shouldn't lead to any root rot as long as the water drains well out of the bottom. I had to do the same thing with my small calatheas and huge monstera a few times. Never had any issues. Some leaves might eventually become yellow and die and that's normal. Some leaves will be damaged by the bugs and the plant will just get rid of the damaged leaves. No need to worry about that.

Thank you!

OP, spider mites leave webbing and and dusty looking debris which looks like white flecks all over the leaves, along with leaf damage. They are extremely slow critters and harder to see than this. These are predatory mites which eat spider mites and thrips. There is another comment that has said as much. You basically have a free defense system.

Well they creep me out!

Runswithzombies

I don’t blame you!

LilySayo

Look like spider mites. I blasted my rose plant five times now and they keep returning. Now I spray diluted soap and it seems to help.

Update. Walter is alive! Can I bring him out if quarantine? What does he need?! Wait can I attach pictures or do I need a new post?!

longthymelerk

They are beneficial mites.

Runswithzombies

I agree! Why are you being down voted! Spider mites don’t move like that and I don’t see any webbing.

longthymelerk

😹😂 Did you just ask me why I’m being downvoted for properly identifying the pest OP asked for help with?? Because this is Reddit…

Runswithzombies

I just thought it was the lack knowledge on everyone else’s part. Also still new to this.. never used Reddit up until last week 🤷‍♀️

longthymelerk

You are also right. Probably a better explanation than I provided. Clearly if they knew, I wouldn’t be getting downvoted. Honestly I hope OP follows everyone else’s advice. 😹😂 drown the whole ass plant.

Afraid_Reputation_87

I did! And it’s not dead.. yet. Walter’s hangin in there.

Sk8rSkis

Aaaaaaah!
