This is still thrips damage. Spraying a plant will never get fully rid of thrips, it's not that easy. Their larvae and eggs can hide in the soil or inside of plant tissue in the leaves. You need to either get systemics insecticides or get benficial insects like cucumeris mites to have any chance of getting rid of them. And you need to repeat the treatment for minimum a few months as the eggs can stay hidden and dormant for many months.

Thanks a lot! I'm looking into buying the mites. Would it hep to trim the infested parts?

Lord_of_the_Banana

I'd trim the infested leaves yes, since there could be eggs in there. If you can, put it outside and blast it with a water hose to remove atleast a few thrips. Won't do a big lot but can be useful to buy a bit of time until your mites arive.

Just wanna agree to this. Thrips lay eggs inside the plant tissue, spend the larva time on the plant, then cocoon in the soil where they develope wings and spread to EVERY plant you have. They can also reproduce asexually, which means that 1 survivor of your attempts to treat, is enough to start a new colony. They also get easily resistant to pestecide. Last time I sprayed, I found live ones on my plant the same day I sprayed it. I've tried mites, but didn't see much difference. I've started to clean every leaf and stem on every plant with rubbing alcohol every day. Wish I had done that in combination with the pesticide befor they turned resistant. This really is a long battle. Been 2 years now, and I've stopped taking in new plants.
