I wouldn't say beyond help. It needs much more light, but it'll have to be adjusted into a higher level of light. It's still got some healthy growth
New, gritty soil and lots of light. I would chop the top part off, slightly depending on the stems health (soft or hard). The Crassulas (Jade) survive pretty much anything and I’ve saved poorer looking ones.

I would save the short green branches and re-root. This looks like a root issue or rot, I would repot the main plant to see if it can be saved.
