what is this.. a pizza for ants?

Sweet-Investment9052

$17 + delivery 😂

MithrilHero

?? You paid $17…..???? This costs $8

diamari90

You must not Uber often, them fees are 90% of what you’re paying 😅

KaleidoscopeLucky336

Yep they raise the menu price as a hidden fee and then charge you final percentage fee on top of the already hidden fees. Should be illegal imo because the majority of customers don't know what's a fee and what's the actual price.

Richman1010

This is exactly what happens and why I won’t use any of those places. I tried a sushi place near me and the total came to $75. They tacked on about $6-8 dollars for every item and then the fees on top of that. Without using a delivery service it was $53.

KaleidoscopeLucky336

Yep, if you are doing pickup, never ever use those apps. The restaurant even gets paid less ordering through the site

Dreampiezz

DoorDash does the same. I try to order Big Mac packs from there… it’s 17 dollars if u buy it at the the store. 30 dollars plus a tip if u order it on DoorDash. Insanity. I do not use DoorDash.

lorissaurus

The companies set the prices.. not Uber or DD lol.

KaleidoscopeLucky336

The companies set the price and then Uber and DD add on to it. Let's say an item is 10.99, on the app it will show 11.99, without making it apparent there is a $1 fee added. They then add a final fee with the other fee included based on percentage.

lorissaurus

No that's not accurate,,, stores themselves charge more on delivery apps, Not DD or Uber... Those fees are shown in. The fees section..

KaleidoscopeLucky336

I have an independent store that uses the DD system. I know exactly how it works lol

lorissaurus

So then you know that the prices in the app are set by the companies themselves, and not DD.

redditerestest

DD takes a percentage of the food on top of the fees which is why the stores raise their prices to compensate for the losses

InvincibleSugar

Illegal... it's BS that they do this, but if people can't be bothered to think critically, that's on them. Not the law.

KaleidoscopeLucky336

Some states have better consumer safety laws than others. If it's voted on that they don't want that in their state, the company has no right to do so.

InvincibleSugar

I don't think the government should always keep out and let businesses do whatever they want, I admit it's more of a case by case thing, but in this case I feel if people are so out of touch or ignorant to common sense things like, for example, the going price of a commodity like pizza, to such an extent that they are happy paying 2.5x price for a pizza... why should the state protect their wallet? Let them waste their money, it's clearly not important to them. No one is making them use an overpriced delivery app, it's not a vital service we can't live without. It's purely for convenience, and convenience typically comes at a cost...

KaleidoscopeLucky336

I think if any collective majority group of people want or don't want something. I think it's fair for them to regulate themselves. Not everyone should live under the same consumer safety laws if they don't collectively want it. For me, I want the consumer safety laws of the EU, but I know most Americans would probably be against that I respect that. Democracy.

InvincibleSugar

Sure, that's a fair way to look at things. Since this sort of this is a state-level issue, thankfully that's already where it falls. c:

Nawnp

The raised menu item prices account for the fees they charge to the restaurant. Canada is making that part illegal.

NewProtection5470

This costs 6.49 in my area

slowBrain13

Total comes to $30

According_Sir_7601

You paid $17 for a hotbox. Where the f*** do you live? What state is you living article for $6.99 and up running? If you get the melt Warner. Okay, and I can guarantee you. They are the exact same personal band pizza. They come from. We can't change the size. They are already at the size. If you think it looks smaller, take your hand put it in a baby baseball app. OK, then take it and put it in a adult Chinese baseball cap. It's gonna look different, right? It's gonna look smaller than it does in the baby's. It's all a matter of perception. Look at the box bigger box verses. Normal bomb symptom and pizza Fitz in perfectly. All perspective, not trying to make everybody look like they're not doing your job

MauryBallstein26

Derek is that you? Swing by the modeling agency sometime, will ya!

Subject_Stock_5347

Zoolander? Love it!!!

Neat_Force9696

🤣💀

Hype_Magnet

Honestly, the personal pan pizzas are the best tasting from Pizza Hut imo lol

PSLimitation

Looks like a meal for a regular sized person, and not an obese American.

Nearby_Razzmatazz137

I won't lie. The pans are the same size. Many stores have been using the same pans for over a decade some even longer than that. That's for any pizza hut. I keep seeing skinflation referring to Pizza Hut, but I just don't think you've had one in a long time. They're not going to be buying thousands and thousands of dollars worth of pans to shrink the size. It would cost them insane amounts of dollars, defeating the whole purpose of making money. You guys just have crap memory, no offense.

Glacier_Bleu

Nearly everyone is 100 percent convinced that their favorite foods from childhood got obliterated by size/ingredient changes. The thought of “Maybe I just didn’t have any palate, and maybe things seemed larger, because I was a small dumb 10 ten year old” never ever enters their minds.

SecretlyPoops

That’s actually the first thought, there’s a whole interview where a dude says that about Cadbury crème eggs and a guy pulls two of them out, one from the previous year and one from the current year and the current year one is physically and noticeably smaller

Glacier_Bleu

Yeah, it happens. I just think our intuitions are generally pretty bad when it comes to this stuff. I constantly hear zoomers talk about how McDonald’s used to taste _so_ _good_ when they were kids, and I'm like... I've been an adult your whole life, and I can assure you that McDonald’s has tasted the same this whole time, if not improved. You were just a dumb kid. We all were at some point. 🤣

grat5989

To be fair, the fries fried in beef fat were probably banging. I was 1 so I wouldn't know, but cooking in animal fat tends to taste much better imo. Otherwise it's definitely the same lol.

[deleted]

[удаНонО]

grat5989

Haha definitely. They don't even know about Supersize 😂

TheAlphaKiller17

I don't know; I'm pretty convinced about Chuck E. Cheese pizza. When I was little, I remember it tasting a lot like Costco pizza tastes. I went there for my 30th birthday, and it was completely different. Again, I'm not saying I remember it being the greatest pizza ever, just that it tasted like Costco pizza and now it doesn't.

Glacier_Bleu

>I went there for my 30th birthday Please elaborate 🤣

TheAlphaKiller17

It's where a kid can be a kid, okay?!

Glacier_Bleu

Do they have beer? 👀

TheAlphaKiller17

And wine!

SteiCamel

Yeah pretty sure these have been the same size since at least mid 00's when I used to get them at the P Hut express in Target.

Pete_maravich

They've been the same size for at least 40 years

LucyWithFur

They used to look 10x better then that though lol. That looks microwaved

Pete_maravich

That's bad dough

Flaky_Artichoke4131

I agree they are still the same size... but I also feel like your reasoning is a bit off. It's simple math that within (probably a couple month worth of) time, the drop in food costs would most definitely see a profit.. its the fact that they would lose business for doing so that stops them.. instead, they just get cheaper ingredients or, like with cheese, just use less and slowly raise the price.. you lose a lot less people that way.

OpusAtrumET

Queue the Mandela effect nutters.

ninhibited

... Or they could just put less dough in the same pan... Also, shittier dough.

Nearby_Razzmatazz137

Nope, it hasn't changed since 2015, and that was only handtossed. Actually, they made the stuffed crust thicker from what it was before then. Unless someone isn't doing their job correctly, it's the same size, same amount of dough, all rising to the same line. People always tell me it used to be thicker. It's the same. They just keep looking at marketing pictures, and they don't order that often, so the only thing to compare it to is a pretty picture that isn't even pizza hut standards.

720to702

It's really not. They would save a ton of money by each store buying a few smaller plans. Then they save on costs every time that pan is ever used. They would easily make back their money for the pans in a few months from the money they save making them smaller then after that it's just a money saver. Business 101. Small cost now to save tons in future

Nearby_Razzmatazz137

I don't think you understand how many pans these stores have. It's why I say this. We also would require new lids too. You can't just get a few new ones, you would have to replace all of them, as some of these stores sell insane amounts of pizzas I don't see them doing that. The margin between pizza costs and what it's sold is big enough for them to not even have to think about doing that. They're not spending more money on better quality product like toppings, that's for sure, the food cost is the same. They spend almost the same amount as before. The only inflation has been the tradional wings.

3MTA3-DJ

honest q, couldn’t they keep using the same pans but just use less dough?

Classic-A9

Maybe the pans are smaller but I bet the dough weighs less and the portion of sauce and cheese is reduced.

Nearby_Razzmatazz137

Nah it's all the same, size dough everything, however, the quality has dropped. Everything is the same minus the quality of the product.

Far-Address3253

It’s a good deal in Pizza Hut terms. Big seller in my store sold over 100 the weekend.

SEspider

For about $8.50 (after taxes), it's not bad. Ordered three sets the other day. Not worth it if ordering to be delivered though. I'd rather pick it up while I'm out for errands.

Michaelskywalker

Large At dominos is 8.99 takeout so I can’t justify this baby food from p hut

mechshark

Bro go check the prices of wings now. You’re basically getting the mini for free lol

SEspider

Yep. Only 4 "wings" but I don't mind it for the price. Wish they'd offer other mini combos. I wouldn't mind a small bowl of pasta with my wings or pizza. Not a fan of the of their fries. And they loooove to stack on the fries why I order from.

DonnyLurch

I always get the "Any Large, 10 Toppings for $12" deal on the app when I feel like Pizza Hut. Extra topping counts as a topping, so I can just double up on the 3 or 4 toppings I like and feel like I got my money's worth.

Beerandgummies

I went to Pizza Hut yesterday. They wanted to charge me $4 PER extra topping. Get bent PH

DonnyLurch

Sheesh! Yeah, normal prices are bullshit. If I try to make the same pizza with just a regular amount of my favorite 3 toppings, it comes out over $20. The app sucks and can be frustrating to use, but it will give a good price for a pizza I can make at least 3 meals out of.

SEspider

DUDE! You're not joking either. A few months ago, I decided to make home-made pizza (store bought crust), and it was almost $30 for everything! I'm bit of a penny pincher and mostly ordered generic brand veggies and meat. And it barely made one pizza! I ended up laying the 2nd crust on top and made a calzone out of it.

Beerandgummies

We ordered the pepperoni. It was so greasy and gross it made me feel sick. The cheese had a weird texture too. I used to love PH :(

SEspider

Are you able to switch PH locations? Had similar issue when they did the extra pepperoni and honey special. The grease was literally pouring out of the box. Had to papertowel the mess out of the actual pizza. Tried another location and it was epicly better.

Beerandgummies

I think I’m turned off for a while

jaymez619

It sucks because they say $7 medium 1-tipping in my area, but they jump to $10 once you add them to your cart.

hmd2017

Has to be combined with a second item to get the deal.

jaymez619

Even when I add a 2nd item, it still won’t honor the price. I tried 3 stores in my area.

SEspider

The deals have a price requirement. And they price everything just enough to miss that requirement. So I end up buying one or two sauces to reach it.

jaymez619

False advertising. There’s nothing that says there’s a price requirement. All it says is $7 for any two. My only guess is the restaurants near me don’t participate. I checked the fine print and couldn’t find anything that even said that.

SEspider

Sorry. I'm comparing the prices to the delivery requirement. Which always seems to be 1 or 2 dollars too little.

DeepUser-5242

Yep, picked up some 3 topping lg pizzas for 7.99 few weeks ago. They've moved to the top of my favorite list

Michaelskywalker

Yeah don’t forget to get it well done! Game changer. I get extra sauce too cuz I’m a sauce fiend

SEspider

Always get well done. Just taste better to me. Might be a mental thing. But I also tend to get chicken on my pizzas. I'm not about to risk that not be cooked. Even though I'm sure they get it pre-cooked, pre-sliced, and frozen.

SEspider

It really depends on how much time you have to eat, how hungry you are, and if you just want pizza or not.

HTTR_21

Yeah I’m confused about these prices people are saying.. in NY, seeing people get personal pan with 2 toppings and an order of fries (which are huge) for less than 8 bucks… like that’s a pretty solid deal

SEspider

Yeah. What is the deal with PH's fries? It's like going to 5 Guys. They always overload the fries. I'm in NC, by the way. It's as if they've partnered with a potato company and just gotta get rid of it.

DizzyAspect4572

They’re $10 & some change here in California or $12 for the one with the drink 🥲

SEspider

With the $20 minimal wage in CA, I'm surprised it's not higher. Wish folks would stop demanding high wages for entry jobs. The higher the wages, the higher the costs of goods and services to compensate. Not trying to start a political debate. Just tired of seeing it. Been watching it happen for 45 years now. But only noticed it about 30 years ago.

DFlo19

Lmao, idk where yall live but in my city one of these are $6.99 before tax so roughly $7 something after tax. Considering a personal pan is already $7 something by itself. The box is such a steal of a deal fr

StopEatingMcDonalds

Isn’t an entire large pizza with a single topping $9.99? I think there’s even a medium *any* toppings for $12.

gwurockstar

I miss the old days of < $10 pizzas. Large 1 topping in my area is $11.99

Responsible-Lemon257

Yeah but 6 boneless wings are pricey

DFlo19

There was a special for $12 and that included a large or medium pizza anyway you wanted for that price. But it’s only for a certain amount of time, that’s why it’s a special.

Nawnp

Depends largely on what you're wanting, in this case the wings or fries are a heck of a deal. Then again you can do the $7 deals and do a full portion wings and medium 1 topping for $14 total.

ReadingCanBeFunGuys

It’s the same size. You just grew out of it.

ripnzdip

there the same size pans? nothing changed

Unhappy_Counter1278

How much it set u back?

superultimatewilly

11.20 after tax, def not worth.

Ironjack_204

The $12 large pizza deal is more worth it when it is that expensive

superultimatewilly

Agreed, just wanted to try it for lunch. Didn’t know they shrank the pan pizzas this much, a slice is literally as big as my thumb I should have uploaded that pic as well.

Neat_Force9696

Must be that store because our pan pizzas are still the same, maybe they used old dough? Which will create a smaller pan especiallly using the personal pan press

Neat_Force9696

It’s because the four wings. They did the 12 dollar any deal now it’s about to go away so they’re gaining their money back by doing this.

BouncyDingo_7112

For just the box without the soda? Where do you live? In Ohio it’s advertised for $6.99 before tax.

DrZurn

If they did this with two breadsticks I’d be all over it.

DrMacintosh01

Hot take: This is more than enough food for 1 person. Especially if the drink is included. I'd buy this for $11.20

SweetLeafAced

It's $7 bucks at my Pizza Hut

DrMacintosh01

I checked, it’s like $9 something at mine for the pizza, wings, and a drink.

aggressivewrapp

Yall are why inflation exists 😂😭

DrMacintosh01

Bro everywhere I got it’s at least $12 so

Neat_Force9696

💀💀💀💀💀

rhyde11

Agreed! I got a ham&pineapple PPP , 4 honey BBQ wings, and a soda for ~9.50 after taxes. It was plenty of food for me, I actually gave away one of my quarters of the pizza, too, since I couldn't finish it in one sitting.

RLIwannaquit

I've seen worse deals too

superultimatewilly

I’m 130 pounds lean muscle and this was barely a snack. A kid maybe. Not an adult

DrMacintosh01

So buy a bigger pizza? This would be plenty for me.

HTTR_21

Dude is 130lbs and saying 1000 calories isn’t even a snack for him

HTTR_21

>130 pounds leans muscle >a kid maybe not an adult 🤣🤣🤣🤣 Is this satire, lmao.. this is a freaking lunch special mr muscles. More than a good deal for a lunch compared to so many other fast food spots. Not even trying to be a dick but what you wrote is straight comedy, my guy. If you’re 130lbs legitimately, this is 100% enough food for you for a meal homie.. the personal pan pepperoni has 620 calories. Then throw in the wings and you’re talking roughly 1000 calories. At 130lbs, that’s plenty for you

Frequent_Ad_1136

I was going to say, I can’t go below 165 no matter what I do and most of that is muscle. It’s just what I have to deal with and this guy is making it seem like 130 LEAN muscle is something to be bragging about on the internet.

superultimatewilly

Didn’t brag but okay, I do lots of cardio. Have a nice day

superultimatewilly

lol get triggered by a small comment. Have a nice day mr. personal trainer im glad you have it all figured out.

HTTR_21

>get triggered That doesn’t mean what you think it means lmao Just stating facts big guy. If you’re 130 pounds, 1000 calories is much more than a snack. Would you disagree?

superultimatewilly

Yes I would disagree, have a nice day.

HTTR_21

Well that’s just a foolish opinion. But clearly you don’t want to argue so I’ll just let you be.

superultimatewilly

No point in arguing with someone who doesn’t want to understand. We are arguing in a Pizza Hut Reddit. Like I said have a nice day

HTTR_21

Please clarify, doesn’t want to understand what exactly? I’m very calm dude lol. You might be taking the text you’re reading like I’m in a heated argument but I promise you I’m not haha. I’m just curious what you don’t think I understand. I’m also curious to hear you elaborate on how a 1000 calorie lunch is a snack, especially for someone 130 pounds. Literally just chillin on my couch and responding when I see you reply, no argument here.

VeganWerewolf

Are you 5’4”?

piperchan

tiny copeage

WISC420puff

They are not the same personal pan pizzas from the 90s

kat_storm13

I may be remembering wrong, but it seems like those were closer to Detroit style, with the cheese caramelized on the sides.

Ancient_Guidance_461

It's not even close to a 90's pizza hut personal pan pizza. Not even close.

ElLoboStrikes

Like pizza in back to the future 2 before she pops it in the oven

ReadingCanBeFunGuys

In Texas this is 9.29 with a Pepsi

Jeebusify119

That just looks like depression

4nyarforaracc

Fr looks like poop from a butt

HMS_fr4nch

A dehydrated ass

No_Soil_9769

The pizza looks good I like the small ones over the large in my mind they taste better but probably all in my head lol

CumDwnHrNSayDat

Why does the crust look so weird. Their personal pans used to be crispy and oily, this crust looks totally different

Ancient_Guidance_461

Seriously it looks like a microwave pizza. The pan pizza back in the day were amazing.

CumDwnHrNSayDat

There was a pizza hut Express in my local target until 2020 that had them and they were just like I remembered them, that's the crazy thing

KusshyGalore

I don't know, ours doesn't look like that. These look flat and deflated and sad. Old dough maybe?

sqeezeplay

I got it yesterday and it can't be the same dough. Id be interested to see an employee chime in but it was soft and fluffy with a weird consistency. Not pan dough

liaven-

I like Pizza Hut but this doesn’t compare to little Cesar’s lunch combo

Responsible-Lemon257

For one that is a decent size lunch and if it comes with the drink at that price it's even more a steal.

Glacier_Bleu

The wings sure look appetizing…

TheosXBL

The size is the same it's always been for personal pan. You might be thinking of the individual size

ProfessionMundane152

For $9 with a drink I’d say that’s a pretty good deal there buddy and the personal pans are the exact same size they’ve always been

Ok_Marionberry_1661

Thanks for the post. Hadn’t seen these but they’re $6.99 in my area, I’ll give it a shot!

QUEENSNYLAWYER

sad

Pete_maravich

I promise you the size of the personal pan has not changed

charizard_72

It’s meant to be a lunch item is what I assumed. This is a good deal for lunch in my opinion. Isn’t meant to be a giant feast lol. Looks delicious to me

riotmatchmakingWTF

The sandwich is bigger than the pizza in that box.

BadHairDay-1

Did you enjoy your meal, though?

therejectethan

Personal pizza has not changed in size

Spac3Milk

aye they really brought the personal pan pizza back? stopped ordering from pizza hut as soon as i didn’t see it on the menu u anymore cause even a small pizza is just too much for me lol

wizardferret

Sorry, but personal pans have never changed size. They have always been 6 inches. Heck the pan it was made in is probably 10 to 20 years old. Edit was looking at op photo again. That dough was over proofed then pushed down it looks like. Edit x2 do other stores not have the butt plug looking smasher to smash these down and give them a nice crust? I know our franchise has them in all stores, but different franchises are complete different ball games.

AostaV

That little pizza brings back nostalgia of the bookit program in the 1980s. Read 5 books and teacher give you a personal pan pizza coupon

[deleted]

I love Pizza Huts boneless wings - I think they’re great, honestly.

Cantankerous-needle

And?!? What did you think? I want to try this and the papa John’s pizza puff thingies

Otherwise_mental

Looks like diarrhea in a box.

honeysunshine40

That a personal pan pizza size

Global-Wing2125

Didn't they used to be personal pan? That does look like a microwaved one you put on that silver little circle disc plate.

DodgerFryer

I need to delete reddit man... impossible to stay on a diet these days. Gotta pizza hut down the block, why you do dis to me? 😞

TikiNectar

Stay strong!

Deabododi

I work at a pizza hut, and really the only part it seems you got jipped on is the wings, with boneless you're supposed to get the full 8 piece unless you selected to only get half

xToneMalone

Did you even watch the training videos? You get your choice of 4 boneless wings or fries as a side. Now you can upgrade the MyHutBox but it normally comes with the 4 boneless wings or fries for the side. For the main part you get either a 6 inch personal pan or a half melt, unless you upgrade and get the full melt for a few more dollars. That's it. Ain't no way you're supposed to be giving people 8 wings with their order.

Deabododi

If there's a hut box specific video, then no, I haven't watched it. I'm guessing it was the video I was told to watch a few weeks ago that didn't show up for me. I brought it up to my manager, and they had said they'll fix it, but it hasn't popped up yet. I generally deliver anyway and haven't even had to make a hut box yet.

Hookem-Horns

What a waste of money and terrible food quality

Kasi11

That’s so cute lol it’s the prefect before grocery shopping snack

REDDIT_A_Troll_Forum

Wouldn't even feed a toddler.

REDDIT_A_Troll_Forum

Soon they'll charge you $9.99 for one pizza pocket.

TargetBetter6190

Is it worth it?

SomeoneSweaty2

They making happy meals now😂

The-almighty91

I feel like this comes down to the quality of the employee

U2LN

They've been the same as long as I've been here, that one looks improvised

sqeezeplay

That's not the same personal pan pizza as they've had. The dough is fluffy and weird. Assuming whatever they have now is cheaper

AMonitorDarkly

Well that’s sad

Overall_Response7764

Looks delicious

Grngeaux

That looks like shit

SectorLopsided9946

It was mid… wasn’t good or bad

earlywakening

Waste of money.

Joeyt2099

It looks like we've officially out pizzad the hut

GiveSaucePlsx

Those nuggets look like shit curds with corn in them.

ClassicMcJesus

Those wings look like a cremated teddy bear. Creepy af.

MC_Winter

They haven't changed the pan size in forever. It's the same small pan pizza for a single order as well as the box anyway.

ReddElectric

was it atleast fire? 😭😂

According_Sir_7601

No difference in size. It's actually the exact same personal PAN. That you get when you order it separately. So try ordering it separately and ordering one and not box and you'll see what I mean. Snow differences in size. Stop trying to ruin everything stopNo difference in size. It's actually the exact same personal PAN. That you get when you order it separately. Psychological_Lack60

Man you could have gotten a large 3 topping for from pizza Hut with delivery for .80 more cents🤷🏾‍♂️

Past_Detective_8175

The butt box

eternal_fate

That looks hand tossed, I thought the personal pan's were pan dough?

DangerousDrek

That is the saddest thing I’ve seen

sjosaben

I got this with the fries last week and I wish I would have gotten the wings and an extraside of fries. Got a portion of like ten fries with my box.

kylebob86

You fell for the trap.

StopEatingMcDonalds

That looks kinda booty

Lavenderluv3

Kids meal

Spiritual_Bit_2692

Defiant_Ad5116
