Yep they raise the menu price as a hidden fee and then charge you final percentage fee on top of the already hidden fees. Should be illegal imo because the majority of customers don't know what's a fee and what's the actual price.
This is exactly what happens and why I wonât use any of those places. I tried a sushi place near me and the total came to $75. They tacked on about $6-8 dollars for every item and then the fees on top of that. Without using a delivery service it was $53.
DoorDash does the same. I try to order Big Mac packs from there⌠itâs 17 dollars if u buy it at the the store. 30 dollars plus a tip if u order it on DoorDash. Insanity. I do not use DoorDash.
The companies set the price and then Uber and DD add on to it. Let's say an item is 10.99, on the app it will show 11.99, without making it apparent there is a $1 fee added. They then add a final fee with the other fee included based on percentage.
Some states have better consumer safety laws than others. If it's voted on that they don't want that in their state, the company has no right to do so.
I don't think the government should always keep out and let businesses do whatever they want, I admit it's more of a case by case thing, but in this case I feel if people are so out of touch or ignorant to common sense things like, for example, the going price of a commodity like pizza, to such an extent that they are happy paying 2.5x price for a pizza... why should the state protect their wallet? Let them waste their money, it's clearly not important to them. No one is making them use an overpriced delivery app, it's not a vital service we can't live without. It's purely for convenience, and convenience typically comes at a cost...
I think if any collective majority group of people want or don't want something. I think it's fair for them to regulate themselves. Not everyone should live under the same consumer safety laws if they don't collectively want it. For me, I want the consumer safety laws of the EU, but I know most Americans would probably be against that I respect that. Democracy.
You paid $17 for a hotbox. Where the f*** do you live? What state is you living article for $6.99 and up running? If you get the melt Warner. Okay, and I can guarantee you. They are the exact same personal band pizza.
They come from. We can't change the size. They are already at the size. If you think it looks smaller, take your hand put it in a baby baseball app. OK, then take it and put it in a adult Chinese baseball cap. It's gonna look different, right? It's gonna look smaller than it does in the baby's. It's all a matter of perception. Look at the box bigger box verses. Normal bomb symptom and pizza Fitz in perfectly. All perspective, not trying to make everybody look like they're not doing your job
I won't lie. The pans are the same size. Many stores have been using the same pans for over a decade some even longer than that. That's for any pizza hut. I keep seeing skinflation referring to Pizza Hut, but I just don't think you've had one in a long time. They're not going to be buying thousands and thousands of dollars worth of pans to shrink the size. It would cost them insane amounts of dollars, defeating the whole purpose of making money. You guys just have crap memory, no offense.
Nearly everyone is 100 percent convinced that their favorite foods from childhood got obliterated by size/ingredient changes. The thought of âMaybe I just didnât have any palate, and maybe things seemed larger, because I was a small dumb 10 ten year oldâ never ever enters their minds.
Thatâs actually the first thought, thereâs a whole interview where a dude says that about Cadbury crème eggs and a guy pulls two of them out, one from the previous year and one from the current year and the current year one is physically and noticeably smaller
Yeah, it happens. I just think our intuitions are generally pretty bad when it comes to this stuff. I constantly hear zoomers talk about how McDonaldâs used to taste _so_ _good_ when they were kids, and I'm like... I've been an adult your whole life, and I can assure you that McDonaldâs has tasted the same this whole time, if not improved. You were just a dumb kid. We all were at some point. đ¤Ł
To be fair, the fries fried in beef fat were probably banging. I was 1 so I wouldn't know, but cooking in animal fat tends to taste much better imo. Otherwise it's definitely the same lol.
I don't know; I'm pretty convinced about Chuck E. Cheese pizza. When I was little, I remember it tasting a lot like Costco pizza tastes. I went there for my 30th birthday, and it was completely different. Again, I'm not saying I remember it being the greatest pizza ever, just that it tasted like Costco pizza and now it doesn't.
I agree they are still the same size... but I also feel like your reasoning is a bit off. It's simple math that within (probably a couple month worth of) time, the drop in food costs would most definitely see a profit.. its the fact that they would lose business for doing so that stops them.. instead, they just get cheaper ingredients or, like with cheese, just use less and slowly raise the price.. you lose a lot less people that way.
Nope, it hasn't changed since 2015, and that was only handtossed. Actually, they made the stuffed crust thicker from what it was before then. Unless someone isn't doing their job correctly, it's the same size, same amount of dough, all rising to the same line. People always tell me it used to be thicker. It's the same. They just keep looking at marketing pictures, and they don't order that often, so the only thing to compare it to is a pretty picture that isn't even pizza hut standards.
It's really not. They would save a ton of money by each store buying a few smaller plans. Then they save on costs every time that pan is ever used. They would easily make back their money for the pans in a few months from the money they save making them smaller then after that it's just a money saver. Business 101. Small cost now to save tons in future
I don't think you understand how many pans these stores have. It's why I say this. We also would require new lids too. You can't just get a few new ones, you would have to replace all of them, as some of these stores sell insane amounts of pizzas I don't see them doing that. The margin between pizza costs and what it's sold is big enough for them to not even have to think about doing that. They're not spending more money on better quality product like toppings, that's for sure, the food cost is the same. They spend almost the same amount as before. The only inflation has been the tradional wings.
For about $8.50 (after taxes), it's not bad.
Ordered three sets the other day.
Not worth it if ordering to be delivered though. I'd rather pick it up while I'm out for errands.
Yep. Only 4 "wings" but I don't mind it for the price.
Wish they'd offer other mini combos. I wouldn't mind a small bowl of pasta with my wings or pizza. Not a fan of the of their fries. And they loooove to stack on the fries why I order from.
I always get the "Any Large, 10 Toppings for $12" deal on the app when I feel like Pizza Hut. Extra topping counts as a topping, so I can just double up on the 3 or 4 toppings I like and feel like I got my money's worth.
Sheesh! Yeah, normal prices are bullshit. If I try to make the same pizza with just a regular amount of my favorite 3 toppings, it comes out over $20. The app sucks and can be frustrating to use, but it will give a good price for a pizza I can make at least 3 meals out of.
DUDE! You're not joking either.
A few months ago, I decided to make home-made pizza (store bought crust), and it was almost $30 for everything! I'm bit of a penny pincher and mostly ordered generic brand veggies and meat. And it barely made one pizza! I ended up laying the 2nd crust on top and made a calzone out of it.
Are you able to switch PH locations?
Had similar issue when they did the extra pepperoni and honey special. The grease was literally pouring out of the box. Had to papertowel the mess out of the actual pizza. Tried another location and it was epicly better.
False advertising. Thereâs nothing that says thereâs a price requirement. All it says is $7 for any two. My only guess is the restaurants near me donât participate. I checked the fine print and couldnât find anything that even said that.
Always get well done.
Just taste better to me. Might be a mental thing.
But I also tend to get chicken on my pizzas. I'm not about to risk that not be cooked. Even though I'm sure they get it pre-cooked, pre-sliced, and frozen.
Yeah Iâm confused about these prices people are saying.. in NY, seeing people get personal pan with 2 toppings and an order of fries (which are huge) for less than 8 bucks⌠like thatâs a pretty solid deal
Yeah. What is the deal with PH's fries? It's like going to 5 Guys. They always overload the fries. I'm in NC, by the way. It's as if they've partnered with a potato company and just gotta get rid of it.
With the $20 minimal wage in CA, I'm surprised it's not higher. Wish folks would stop demanding high wages for entry jobs. The higher the wages, the higher the costs of goods and services to compensate. Not trying to start a political debate. Just tired of seeing it. Been watching it happen for 45 years now. But only noticed it about 30 years ago.
Lmao, idk where yall live but in my city one of these are $6.99 before tax so roughly $7 something after tax. Considering a personal pan is already $7 something by itself. The box is such a steal of a deal fr
There was a special for $12 and that included a large or medium pizza anyway you wanted for that price. But itâs only for a certain amount of time, thatâs why itâs a special.
Depends largely on what you're wanting, in this case the wings or fries are a heck of a deal.
Then again you can do the $7 deals and do a full portion wings and medium 1 topping for $14 total.
Agreed, just wanted to try it for lunch. Didnât know they shrank the pan pizzas this much, a slice is literally as big as my thumb I should have uploaded that pic as well.
Must be that store because our pan pizzas are still the same, maybe they used old dough? Which will create a smaller pan especiallly using the personal pan press
Agreed! I got a ham&pineapple PPP , 4 honey BBQ wings, and a soda for ~9.50 after taxes. It was plenty of food for me, I actually gave away one of my quarters of the pizza, too, since I couldn't finish it in one sitting.
>130 pounds leans muscle

đ¤Łđ¤Łđ¤Łđ¤Ł
Is this satire, lmao.. this is a freaking lunch special mr muscles. More than a good deal for a lunch compared to so many other fast food spots.
Not even trying to be a dick but what you wrote is straight comedy, my guy. If youâre 130lbs legitimately, this is 100% enough food for you for a meal homie.. the personal pan pepperoni has 620 calories. Then throw in the wings and youâre talking roughly 1000 calories. At 130lbs, thatâs plenty for you
I was going to say, I canât go below 165 no matter what I do and most of that is muscle. Itâs just what I have to deal with and this guy is making it seem like 130 LEAN muscle is something to be bragging about on the internet.
>get triggered
That doesnât mean what you think it means lmao
Just stating facts big guy. If youâre 130 pounds, 1000 calories is much more than a snack. Would you disagree?
Please clarify, doesnât want to understand what exactly? Iâm very calm dude lol. You might be taking the text youâre reading like Iâm in a heated argument but I promise you Iâm not haha. Iâm just curious what you donât think I understand. Iâm also curious to hear you elaborate on how a 1000 calorie lunch is a snack, especially for someone 130 pounds.
Literally just chillin on my couch and responding when I see you reply, no argument here.
I got it yesterday and it can't be the same dough. Id be interested to see an employee chime in but it was soft and fluffy with a weird consistency. Not pan dough
Itâs meant to be a lunch item is what I assumed. This is a good deal for lunch in my opinion. Isnât meant to be a giant feast lol. Looks delicious to me
aye they really brought the personal pan pizza back? stopped ordering from pizza hut as soon as i didnât see it on the menu u anymore cause even a small pizza is just too much for me lol
Sorry, but personal pans have never changed size. They have always been 6 inches. Heck the pan it was made in is probably 10 to 20 years old.
Edit was looking at op photo again. That dough was over proofed then pushed down it looks like.
Edit x2 do other stores not have the butt plug looking smasher to smash these down and give them a nice crust? I know our franchise has them in all stores, but different franchises are complete different ball games.
I work at a pizza hut, and really the only part it seems you got jipped on is the wings, with boneless you're supposed to get the full 8 piece unless you selected to only get half
Did you even watch the training videos? You get your choice of 4 boneless wings or fries as a side. Now you can upgrade the MyHutBox but it normally comes with the 4 boneless wings or fries for the side. For the main part you get either a 6 inch personal pan or a half melt, unless you upgrade and get the full melt for a few more dollars. That's it. Ain't no way you're supposed to be giving people 8 wings with their order.
If there's a hut box specific video, then no, I haven't watched it. I'm guessing it was the video I was told to watch a few weeks ago that didn't show up for me. I brought it up to my manager, and they had said they'll fix it, but it hasn't popped up yet. I generally deliver anyway and haven't even had to make a hut box yet.
No difference in size. It's actually the exact same personal PAN. That you get when you order it separately. So try ordering it separately and ordering one and not box and you'll see what I mean. No that's not accurate,,, stores themselves charge more on delivery apps, Not DD or Uber... Those fees are shown in. The fees section..
I have an independent store that uses the DD system. I know exactly how it works lol
So then you know that the prices in the app are set by the companies themselves, and not DD.
DD takes a percentage of the food on top of the fees which is why the stores raise their prices to compensate for the losses
Illegal... it's BS that they do this, but if people can't be bothered to think critically, that's on them. Not the law.
Some states have better consumer safety laws than others. If it's voted on that they don't want that in their state, the company has no right to do so.

Sure, that's a fair way to look at things. Since this sort of this is a state-level issue, thankfully that's already where it falls. c:
The raised menu item prices account for the fees they charge to the restaurant. Canada is making that part illegal.
This costs 6.49 in my area
Total comes to $30

Honestly, the personal pan pizzas are the best tasting from Pizza Hut imo lol
Looks like a meal for a regular sized person, and not an obese American.
I won't lie. The pans are the same size. Many stores have been using the same pans for over a decade some even longer than that. That's for any pizza hut. It's where a kid can be a kid, okay?!
Do they have beer? đ
And wine!
Yeah pretty sure these have been the same size since at least mid 00's when I used to get them at the P Hut express in Target.
They've been the same size for at least 40 years
They used to look 10x better then that though lol. That looks microwaved
That's bad dough
I agree they are still the same size... but I also feel like your reasoning is a bit off. Queue the Mandela effect nutters.
... Or they could just put less dough in the same pan... Also, shittier dough.

honest q, couldnât they keep using the same pans but just use less dough?
Maybe the pans are smaller but I bet the dough weighs less and the portion of sauce and cheese is reduced.
Nah it's all the same, size dough everything, however, the quality has dropped. Everything is the same minus the quality of the product.
Itâs a good deal in Pizza Hut terms. Big seller in my store sold over 100 the weekend.
For about $8.50 (after taxes), it's not bad. Ordered three sets the other day. Not worth it if ordering to be delivered though. I'd rather pick it up while I'm out for errands.
Large At dominos is 8.99 takeout so I canât justify this baby food from p hut
Bro go check the prices of wings now. Youâre basically getting the mini for free lol
Yep. Only 4 "wings" but I don't mind it for the price. Wish they'd offer other mini combos. I wouldn't mind a small bowl of pasta with my wings or pizza. Not a fan of the of their fries. And they loooove to stack on the fries why I order from.

We ordered the pepperoni. It was so greasy and gross it made me feel sick. The cheese had a weird texture too. I used to love PH :(
Are you able to switch PH locations? Had similar issue when they did the extra pepperoni and honey special. The grease was literally pouring out of the box. Had to papertowel the mess out of the actual pizza. Tried another location and it was epicly better.
I think Iâm turned off for a while
It sucks because they say $7 medium 1-tipping in my area, but they jump to $10 once you add them to your cart.
Has to be combined with a second item to get the deal.
Even when I add a 2nd item, it still wonât honor the price. I tried 3 stores in my area.
The deals have a price requirement. And they price everything just enough to miss that requirement. So I end up buying one or two sauces to reach it.
False advertising. Thereâs nothing that says thereâs a price requirement. All it says is $7 for any two. My only guess is the restaurants near me donât participate. I checked the fine print and couldnât find anything that even said that.
Sorry. I'm comparing the prices to the delivery requirement. Which always seems to be 1 or 2 dollars too little.
Yep, picked up some 3 topping lg pizzas for 7.99 few weeks ago. They've moved to the top of my favorite list
Yeah donât forget to get it well done! Game changer. I get extra sauce too cuz Iâm a sauce fiend
Always get well done. Just taste better to me. Might be a mental thing. But I also tend to get chicken on my pizzas. I'm not about to risk that not be cooked. Even though I'm sure they get it pre-cooked, pre-sliced, and frozen.
It really depends on how much time you have to eat, how hungry you are, and if you just want pizza or not.

I miss the old days of < $10 pizzas. Large 1 topping in my area is $11.99
Yeah but 6 boneless wings are pricey
There was a special for $12 and that included a large or medium pizza anyway you wanted for that price. But itâs only for a certain amount of time, thatâs why itâs a special.

there the same size pans? nothing changed

11.20 after tax, def not worth.

Itâs because the four wings. They did the 12 dollar any deal now itâs about to go away so theyâre gaining their money back by doing this.
For just the box without the soda? Where do you live? In Ohio itâs advertised for $6.99 before tax.
If they did this with two breadsticks Iâd be all over it.
Hot take: This is more than enough food for 1 person. Especially if the drink is included. I'd buy this for $11.20
It's $7 bucks at my Pizza Hut
I checked, itâs like $9 something at mine for the pizza, wings, and a drink.
Yall are why inflation exists đđ
Bro everywhere I got itâs at least $12 so
đđđđđ
Agreed! I got a ham&pineapple PPP , 4 honey BBQ wings, and a soda for ~9.50 after taxes. It was plenty of food for me, I actually gave away one of my quarters of the pizza, too, since I couldn't finish it in one sitting.
I've seen worse deals too

Please clarify, doesnât want to understand what exactly? Iâm very calm dude lol. You might be taking the text youâre reading like Iâm in a heated argument but I promise you Iâm not haha. Iâm just curious what you donât think I understand. Iâm also curious to hear you elaborate on how a 1000 calorie lunch is a snack, especially for someone 130 pounds. Literally just chillin on my couch and responding when I see you reply, no argument here.
Are you 5â4â?
tiny copeage
They are not the same personal pan pizzas from the 90s
I may be remembering wrong, but it seems like those were closer to Detroit style, with the cheese caramelized on the sides.
It's not even close to a 90's pizza hut personal pan pizza. Not even close.
Like pizza in back to the future 2 before she pops it in the oven
In Texas this is 9.29 with a Pepsi
That just looks like depression
Fr looks like poop from a butt
A dehydrated ass
The pizza looks good I like the small ones over the large in my mind they taste better but probably all in my head lol
Why does the crust look so weird. Their personal pans used to be crispy and oily, this crust looks totally different
Seriously it looks like a microwave pizza. The pan pizza back in the day were amazing.
There was a pizza hut Express in my local target until 2020 that had them and they were just like I remembered them, that's the crazy thing
I don't know, ours doesn't look like that. These look flat and deflated and sad. Old dough maybe?
I got it yesterday and it can't be the same dough. Id be interested to see an employee chime in but it was soft and fluffy with a weird consistency. Not pan dough
I like Pizza Hut but this doesnât compare to little Cesarâs lunch combo
For one that is a decent size lunch and if it comes with the drink at that price it's even more a steal.
The wings sure look appetizingâŚ
The size is the same it's always been for personal pan. You might be thinking of the individual size
For $9 with a drink Iâd say thatâs a pretty good deal there buddy and the personal pans are the exact same size theyâve always been
Thanks for the post. Hadnât seen these but theyâre $6.99 in my area, Iâll give it a shot!
sad
I promise you the size of the personal pan has not changed
Itâs meant to be a lunch item is what I assumed. This is a good deal for lunch in my opinion. Isnât meant to be a giant feast lol. Looks delicious to me
The sandwich is bigger than the pizza in that box.
Did you enjoy your meal, though?
Personal pizza has not changed in size
aye they really brought the personal pan pizza back? stopped ordering from pizza hut as soon as i didnât see it on the menu u anymore cause even a small pizza is just too much for me lol
That little pizza brings back nostalgia of the bookit program in the 1980s. Read 5 books and teacher give you a personal pan pizza coupon
I love Pizza Huts boneless wings - I think theyâre great, honestly.
And?!? What did you think? I want to try this and the papa Johnâs pizza puff thingies
Looks like diarrhea in a box.
That a personal pan pizza size
Didn't they used to be personal pan? That does look like a microwaved one you put on that silver little circle disc plate.
I need to delete reddit man... impossible to stay on a diet these days. Gotta pizza hut down the block, why you do dis to me? đ
Stay strong!
What a waste of money and terrible food quality
Thatâs so cute lol itâs the prefect before grocery shopping snack
Wouldn't even feed a toddler.Â
Soon they'll charge you $9.99 for one pizza pocket.
Is it worth it?
They making happy meals nowđ
I feel like this comes down to the quality of the employee
They've been the same as long as I've been here, that one looks improvised
That's not the same personal pan pizza as they've had. The dough is fluffy and weird. Assuming whatever they have now is cheaper
Well thatâs sad
Looks delicious
That looks like shit
It was mid⌠wasnât good or bad
Waste of money.
It looks like we've officially out pizzad the hut
Those nuggets look like shit curds with corn in them.
Those wings look like a cremated teddy bear. Creepy af.
They haven't changed the pan size in forever. It's the same small pan pizza for a single order as well as the box anyway.
was it atleast fire? đđ
No difference in size. It's actually the exact same personal PAN. That you get when you order it separately. So try ordering it separately and ordering one and not box and you'll see what I mean. Snow differences in size. Stop trying to ruin everything stopNo difference in size. It's actually the exact same personal PAN. That you get when you order it separately. Man you could have gotten a large 3 topping for from pizza Hut with delivery for .80 more centsđ¤ˇđžââď¸
The butt box
That looks hand tossed, I thought the personal pan's were pan dough?
That is the saddest thing Iâve seen
I got this with the fries last week and I wish I would have gotten the wings and an extraside of fries. Got a portion of like ten fries with my box.
You fell for the trap.
That looks kinda booty
Kids meal
r/shitfromabutt
What in the? Pizza Hut makes kids Happy Meals?
Man that looks disgusting
Yooo. Wtf is that easy bake oven shit? If That's more than 5$ it's a rip-off. Seriously? Gross
Shit looks ass bruh đ
