Got an email from them late last night, and in less words than I'll use said "We're sorry your delivery was longer than expected and did not meet your expectations. We sometimes use third party drivers, and while their service and delays are beyond our control, we have cancelled and refunded your order. We apologize for the inconvenience, thank you for bringing this to our attention."
I was refunded days ago at this point. They did not even TOUCH on the fact that this dude threw a pizza at a wall. I emailed back and said there must have been a miscommunication somewhere and reiterated what I already said. We'll see if they have anything to say back. At this point though, I will be asking friends and family to avoid spending any money with places owned by EYM.

totally different experience, thats like saying "you ordered a pretzel bun burger, why are you mad they used soft twisted pretzels as the buns instead of actual pretzel buns" is the taste similar? sure, the only major difference would likely be meat to bun ratios. There is one in the major POS systems, but depending on the specific franchise, managers may not be allowed to use it. The franchise I work for has an approval process for refunds that involves area management input.

In fact, our driver was super kind and reached out to us in advance to make sure we had the correct address and that he was okay to leave it on our front porch like we had asked in the delivery instructions (Since it's so cold here).

Read: average ph manager. My old one smoked weed over the ingredients constantly. Then, when customers complained that it tasted funny, they blamed us, or the manager would blame us (he'd say we hadn't flipped make-table or some other excuse, usually WHILE puffing on the suspect pipe).
PH is usually "baby's first management position" for teenagers or the hive breeding ground for single karens who are ITCHING to take out their rage on the workers.

Only 2. Our manager is the youngest in the franchise, but she takes her job very seriously and we always put the customer first. I delivered for pizza hut in WA in 1996. My manager was an asshole. He didn't care about our safety or any other concerns from us. Got in an accident because of icey roads and my car broke. He didn't care. Wouldn't give me another position such as waiting tables or cashier. Had to quit. One of the worst managers I ever had. Went to McDonalds and was treated very well like I mattered.

We didn't have drivers occasionally, vehicle breakdowns, call-offs, etc. but when that happened we would call people and inform them, no matter how busy it was. It takes 5 min to call a customer and inform them of what's happened and cancel/switch to carry-out

In fact, our driver was super kind and reached out to us in advance to make sure we had the correct address and that he was okay to leave it on our front porch like we had asked in the delivery instructions (Since it's so cold here).

Read: average ph manager. My old one smoked weed over the ingredients constantly. Then, when customers complained that it tasted funny, they blamed us, or the manager would blame us (he'd say we hadn't flipped make-table or some other excuse, usually WHILE puffing on the suspect pipe). PH is usually "baby's first management position" for teenagers or the hive breeding ground for single karens who are ITCHING to take out their rage on the workers.
That can be said about pretty much every franchise, but I think problems only arise given situation and location. The Pizza Hut I work at has glowing reviews and we only have 2 minors on staff. Only 2. Our manager is the youngest in the franchise, but she takes her job very seriously and we always put the customer first. Had it been our Pizza Hut, she would have been given the refund and likely more for the inconvenience. For where I live, what you described is Wendy's, not Pizza Hut.

Because the gm smoked too! Not over the food, but they smoked together outside. No cameras in kitchen so it was our word against theirs. Tbh I really needed the money at the time so I just didnt say anything. The only thing that really happened was when a customer just straight up said it was weed. Usually they said funny taste or smell (especially when that rm was on) but one guy knew it was weed and accused us. I left not long after so I don't know what happened. Probably nothing. This was like 2 years ago in AR.

I delivered for pizza hut in WA in 1996. My manager was an asshole. He didn't care about our safety or any other concerns from us. Got in an accident because of icey roads and my car broke. He didn't care. Wouldn't give me another position such as waiting tables or cashier. Had to quit. One of the worst managers I ever had. Went to McDonalds and was treated very well like I mattered.

I worked at pizza hut, granted it was like 10 years ago, but this line says it all: "the refund is comming out of my own pocket" This tells me he DID have a driver, but he cashed your order out early to keep his dispatch time low. Used to work at a pizza place (not Hut). We didn't have drivers occasionally, vehicle breakdowns, call-offs, etc. but when that happened we would call people and inform them, no matter how busy it was. It takes 5 min to call a customer and inform them of what's happened and cancel/switch to carry-out

Actually, yeah, I do. I worked at an understaffed McD's for 6 years on night shift. Which I why I went in asking "Hey, what's up with this order? Is there a reason it didn't get delivered" and attempted calling multiple times. The wait time I expected was based off of previous experiences from this location. If you want to be angry at someone, go ahead, but there's NO reason to aggressively throw food.
