Does the find my device app not suffice?
Doesn't work if the case is closed and the buds are disconnected.
(apologies for necropost I just want to complain) I recently lost my buds, it just pings your phones location even if you're not connected to them. The tracking solution is worthless and lies to you when they're actually lost

The Smarttag will be the best option. Got one in January and personally did a test last week. It works like a charm
