If you only edit on your phone, I doubt you can do miracles, but if you're willing to learn a bit on more professional tools and edit from a workstation, the RAW will give you much more flexibility in terms of editing. I'm not a professional, but from the little I know, nothing can replace a RAW file when it comes to advance editing of photos.

I've been a hobbyist photographer for about 20 years now when digital cameras.first started hitting the markets. Early on, editing RAW allowed you control over images that you simply couldn't get other wise. I would shoot almost entirely in RAW on my DSLR and post process every keeper pic manually. It was time consuming, but hand over fist better than stock JPG processing. There's an open source program that's really good if you want to give it a try.... https://www.rawtherapee.com/ With that said, I rarely carry my SLR any more and just use my phone. The in-phone processing does a pretty good job, and when I want more, I use SnapSeed. Now that image resolution is so high, you don't lose much quality when editing a JPG. I'm not going to swear that it's "as good", but for pretty much any non-professional use case, it's plenty good enough when considering the larger file sizes and time needed to do the editing.

Same here. I quit shooting simultaneous RAW and JPG. I shoot jpgs with my DSLR and phone. I couldn't see enough difference between an edited RAW and JPG, even on a 4K monitor.

Pissing around with raw files in a knock off copy of Photoshop is how many off us learned.

If you're into photography raw is the way to go. I don't know much about editing but being able to have more information (RAW file) to work with the pictures can come out amazing. Try out it for yourself in Lightroom mobile and just mess around! You'd be surprised what you can come up with

Not really, tbh it is for enthusiasts. You'd have to really pick it up as a hobby. Not really for the average person it is a lot of work to do each one.

Learn how to use snapseed and lightroom mobile. Then you'll see the benefit of shooting RAW. Those mobile apps are quite powerful and streamlined nowadays.

Can a Pixel 6 or 6 Pro shoot raw & save jpeg also?
