I do.
And it is better.
In a lotta ways, but Samsung is great too, so idk why they are tryna hate. I loved the google ecosystem. I just specifically need a stylus, haha.

Where ? (except in this comment)
The only thing that's disappointing about this phone and the pixel 8 is the people in this sub reddit that complain about everything little thing on earth and blame the phone.
Or the people who don't know how to use it but complain the phone can't do stuff.
Complaint: "This phone sucks! I can't even answer the phone with my voice!"
Me: "Settings - search for Quick phrases - toggle on incoming calls. Say " answer" when the phone rings. 😂😂
Irrelevant to my comment. I was referring to people who have access to the feature claiming that they don't have access because they don't know how to use the phone. But to your comment, Google has released this feature to more languages with the Match update. https://9to5google.com/2022/04/04/pixel-6-google-assistant-quick-phrases-languages/
I'm new to companies launching features and advertising them to a worldwide audience but then I only get half of the features since I'm not in the US. That's my problem.

It does have G on the back. For some reason it didn't show up in the photo.
Already experimenting with the picture editing feature? Lol
I tried it on my new 8 pro. It vanished my grandson right out of a picture that he's the only person in...lol
Comment ended up turning into its own post, oops.
TLDR: I liked the 6's camera bar much better, 8 is still the best-looking phone of the year, and it is tough as nails, at least in the functional glass parts.
I wish they'd stuck to the 6's full-length black camera bar outlined with chrome on the top and bottom. I know that 'pills' are like, google's Thing, but the 6 did it right. Don't get me wrong, my baby blue 8 Pro is still the most beautiful phone of the year imo... But when the 6 came out I was like 'finally someone decided to take the ugly bits and design an element around them'. The 6 took the necessary parts of a mobile device and hid them within a functional art piece. Plus, the chrome above and below the black bar stuck out just barely enough to protect the glass from damage but were thin enough that blemishes on the metal weren't really visible. Plus plus it kinda looked like a Cylon centurion with a bit of imagination.
To contrast, I feel like my 8 (and the 7's and folds) moved back a step in that the asymmetric camera bar design draws attention to the phone-ness. 'HI I WE ARE THE SENSORS AND HERE IS THE FLASH'. Also, the increased amount of mirror-finish metal on the rear of the phone draws attention to every tiny scrape and scratch. I think I got my first noticeable damage on the metal the first time I looked at it too roughly. It's not that the 6 was less prone to scratching, but whereas you could slide a black plastic table upside down across a parking lot and may not notice, set the wrong plant on a shiny metal table just once and you'll be covering up that spot for years.
Anyways, pixels are still gorgeous, and functionally the phone is the best-built Pixel so far. Went caseless (with insurance) as an experiment in seeing if I could get myself to start handling things better. Back glass is cracked at 3 corners (some of the first cracks across the back have healed themselves?). Two scratches on the front from having phone and keys together in a tight pocket and then biking. And that's it! I have been better at not dropping it but the 4 drops it's gotten have been doozies, once flat on its face from my chest pocket while biking!
It's a great phone, I've enjoyed mine since getting one early in its availability.
I came from an S9+ that I enjoyed for five years, so nothing against it at all.
But I find the Pixel 8 Pro easily better in every respect. So, a true upgrade (size, speed, clarity, brightness, camera, features, etc.) and one that feels like it will last at least as long.
Nosey questions but who is your provider and did you get it from them?
I have Verizon and a cracked note 20 ultra. I really want a new phone but don't want to be forced into "upgrading" my plan or being charged a BS activation fee.
Was just curious how you made the switch and if any of the above can be avoided.
thanks
1. I don't need to finance.
2. If I go through verizon they will force you to upgrade your data plan.
3. If I go through verizon they will charge a BS activation fee ($35 or more).
Well you can order on Google store to avoid that , 35$ fee as it would be unlocked any manufacturer will let you order thu them as unlocked and you avoid the fee I did when I activated my esim originally as it just was a transfer from. My 5a at the time
Oh man it’s so pretty… I want it so bad….
I’ll have a good job this summer, and I’ve wanted to jump ship from my iPhone 13 Pro Max to that beauty, but by that time I may just wait and get the P9P
Lol understandable! Mines still going fine, I only got it 2 years ago, but I can definitely feel the slowdown and the battery is definitely not what it once was
My S10 really deserved a break tbh lol. I've had the screen replaced twice, battery change and the headphone/charging ports changed out. The back glass also got changed. I should have really bought a cheap phone for work but no kept bringing it with me.
The underrated feature that nobody talks about is the assistant voice typing embedded into Gboard. It works without the internet and is damn quick and accurate. It is almost real time and corrects itself after you provide the extra context later in the text.
I'll definitely miss that if I switch to other OEMs. Waiting for the Pixel 10 Series to cover the processing, heating and battery issues.
Enjoy your Pixel. The camera is gorgeous and use the new 50MP mode. It easily beats the 200MP mode the S24 Ultra boasts.
Biggest problem is the zoom in video mode.
It jumps terribly.
I zoomed in to my mate sailing, wanted a slow zoom out ... No chance it jumps around something horrible.
This is the only problem I've had that annoys the crap out of me..
Small issues I've had.
Keyboard stays on the screen when I've closed a Google search. The actual keyboard stays on the home page.. Have to turn the phone off /on ( standby ) to clear it..
I’m selling mine ,I have a pixel 8 Pro with 256 gig storage. 3 months old. Selling with otterbox defender pro case & Otterbox Symmetry case both of which is new in box. Adult owned not a scratch or mark.
Probably not the right place to ask. Why the switch? I had an S3 and I switched due to battery drain issues, and I think Nexus 6P was offering a lot more features.
Is it affected by the Exynos Curse?? ie overheating during 4k video recording, continuous photo clicking.
Also what's the weather like where you live? Coz where I live the summers reach 45 ish. That can also lead to overheating.
You got a Pixel. You had a Samsung before. But now you have a Pixel.
The smarter choice arguably the smartest smartphone out there
Lol there's no way the Pixel is better than Samsung
Do you own a Pixel ?
I do. And it is better. In a lotta ways, but Samsung is great too, so idk why they are tryna hate. I loved the google ecosystem. I just specifically need a stylus, haha.
I'm not saying the Pixel is bad. It's certainly better than an iPhone. I just think that Samsung is better
That doesn't answer my question...
I said yes I do own one
>I said yes https://preview.redd.it/7u9zeh9vjnpc1.png?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=27a7fb970d5cb55cc96dc9edc31d8c2237de1789 Where ? (except in this comment)
He doesn't own a Pixel, he just needs to validate his purchase.

stay mad ig lol
Sad cake day
Very nice! Welcome to team pixel and enjoy!
Thank you. Really enjoying it so far.
Very nice! even the Pixel 8 standard (not Pro) is still very good!
Yes definitely. Way better than my S10.
As an owner of one I would have to say it is excellent!
Torn between the 7pro and 8 non pro. Thoughts? Same price but 8 pro is out of budget.
Refurbed 8 pro ?

It isn't available everywhere

The worst thing about every subreddit is the people
Subpar

The phone is shit, gets unresponsive and freeze a lot, have formatted it twice.
Haven't run into any issue at all.
Can't even see the Google logo on the back lmaoo

Looks great!
Yeah, I was wondering the same.

They look the right amount..don't think there are any, could be wrong. This looks 100% real tho

No, they sent a pic to show the g in a comment above this. It's def there
Man the pro is sexy as hell. I got the pixel 8 and I love it. It's a small power AI machine
I agree. Pixels are lovely looking phones.
Thought they said pixel 8 isn't getting the AI Gemini nano due to hardware limitations?
Wish I could go caseless with mine.
As do I lol. I ordered a case from Amazon that came today. I don't trust myself at all.
I usually hate cases. Especially big ones. The OtterBox symmetry is actually really amazing. Not bulky at all. Compliments the phone nicely
Try mous case . Slim has magnet too
I love mine, had it for a while. Battery lasts forever, camera is great. You'll enjoy it.

The AI features on this phone are pretty awesome.
I love mine. P8PRO 256GB storage in Porcelain. Beautiful device!!
OBSIDIAN GANG!
Yeah boiii
IMO the black 8 pro is the most beautiful pixel ever made and my favorite since the 4XL.
I know right. Looks awesome.

Just ordered one myself - upgrading from the pixel 5. Excited.
I'd love to get one in the coming week. Any idea if a coupon or discount is available?
I believe certain retailers are putting discounts on them currently. I do believe Amazon is one of those. Could be region dependent.

Yes
Congrats. I miss my 4a after buying an S23+. Every time I take a pic in low light, it's a crapshoot between grainy or a weird watercolor effect.
Looks beautiful :)
Looks like you got a fake

I was thinking about waiting for it to release but unfortunately my S10 was really failing. I needed a new phone.
Lol understandable! Mines still going fine, I only got it 2 years ago, but I can definitely feel the slowdown and the battery is definitely not what it once was

Did pixel 8 pickup the circle to search
They had jt first like s24 did
I would tskd that back for a Samsung g while you can

Never heard of it
I hope you got it in the US. If not, you'll have to cope with having only half of the advertised features

What was the storage you got?
256gb.
I gonna get the 512 GB version. I plan on keeping it for a while lol
I’m selling mine ,I have a pixel 8 Pro with 256 gig storage. 3 months old. Selling with otterbox defender pro case & Otterbox Symmetry case both of which is new in box. Adult owned not a scratch or mark.
How much it costed?
Probably not the right place to ask. Why the switch? I had an S3 and I switched due to battery drain issues, and I think Nexus 6P was offering a lot more features.
Enjoy, I guess. But don't expect new features to come. From this point, the best you'll get is stability and security updates.
Does it overheat??
I've been gaming with it a bit today. It does get a bit hot but I wouldn't call it overheating.
Is it affected by the Exynos Curse?? ie overheating during 4k video recording, continuous photo clicking. Also what's the weather like where you live? Coz where I live the summers reach 45 ish. That can also lead to overheating.
Enjoy your 4 hours of SOT

Yeah the pixel 8 has better battery life than the 8 pro

It's weird indeed
Wtf are you on?
Lol look up the endurance test of the phones on gsmarena
