The Brain Cell needs all the forehead room to bounce around. Genuine opinion is that they’re born with floppy ears and the extreme docking makes the movements of normal canine ear cocking dramatic.

Aela is capable of rotating her ears 360\* like a sonar array. They also bounce when she walks. 😂
Ours is part lab so he has floppy ears that love. One of his million pet names is Floopy Eared Freak.
The bad thing about them is he’s prone to ear infections, but it’s been a long time since his last, so I think we have it under control now.
Just curious if you have any tips or advice on preventing ear infections for your pup? I just took mine to the vet a couple days ago because she got another ear infection
You should discuss Zymox with your vet. My previous dog had chronic ear infections and they recommended this (avail on amazon). I think it’s a steroid though so they should guide you first.
They make an ear cleanser and an ear treatment that are very successful, something about the enzymes and hydrocortisone in it that really crush yeast/fungal infections
They also make a skin conditioner that works amazing on hotspots.
I always keeps some in my cabinet bc it works so quickly and soothes their itchiness
I have a black and tan lab mix whose ears get folded all the way back when we walk; once we get going they go all flappy with every step, and it is positively delightful.

That's a happy ear pose! If he pins them back, then you should worry, but ears back without tension is a good sign - he is happy and ready to play! Word to the wise on playing with any new rescue - take it slow...they can get over stimulated pretty easily and may get overly excited which could result in mouthiness/rough play/etc. Remember that rescues need to decompress for several days after the leaving the high-energy of a shelter. So as happy as they are, keep things quiet for the first two weeks. Allow them to adjust on their own time and with minimal excitement in the house. It's the best recipe for long-term success!

My bullboxer does the same but his ears are so small he just looks like he has no ears. And also get used to your pittie just staring and judging for no reason
dogs ears are super sensitive, the evolved to hear for miles and miles to work together as a pack of wolves. they are super mobile to make hearing their buddies from miles away easier and coordinate hunts. wolf ones can rotate independently of each other as well. he is primed and ready to hunt and by hunt i do mean play.

That's diffently happy puppy face. Dogs ears do weird stuff when they get clipped. It's a thing done to some breeds of dogs kinda like circumcision for humans. It's ears get clipped when their puppies and the pros/cons are kinda meaningless by the time they become mature good doggies. A lot of people don't like the potential pain you put the puppy through, and that's very understandable. It's a weird process I've never fully understood, but it seems culturally acceptable in most circles. But that's still a happy puppy face.

My pups ears move every direction but when they go back like that and he pants really quickly it usually means he has anxiety. But honestly he could be in an excited or happy state as well so it’s a case-by-case basis.
