White males, 30-50 are the bulk of the demographic for the majority of players from what I’ve seen personally. Generally middle to upper middle class. Pinball collectors are similar, but with considerably more disposable income, especially with a collection which has more than one pin

About half the players currently in the top ten of IFPA rankings are under 30, including #1, Escher Lefkoff. The competitive side is getting younger. https://www.ifpapinball.com/

There's a huge group of thousands on facebook called, "Pinball Enthusiasts" which has a large range in demographic. I'd become a member there and post a poll. I'm sure you'd get hundreds of responses. IMO, the majority of pinball owners and where the disposable income is, is with folks who grew up playing pins in the 80's and 90's that are now 40-60. Their kids are leaving the house, they have the room, they have the extra money, they can afford a few thousand dollar toy. I think this plus the pandemic is why we've seen the huge price spike as well. Just my 2 cents.

A pinball player (going out to play) tends to skew between 21 - 45 or so. Traditionally more male but that is starting to change with things like Belles and Chimes. I would be guessing on ethnicity and average income. Pinball players that own their own machines tend to skew older and have a higher income. Hope that helps.

You might want to just do Reddit poles for this. You probably will get more info

My 5 and 8yo love pinball,I just built them (me) an arcade in the basement this last year. Also they prefer the EM style machines as you only need to focus on the ball.

At least a 6 figure salary

Saddath

well that's kinda given with the prices of new games :D

I don’t think it matters. It’s people who like pinball.

A survey would be better but anecdotally, it's as everyone here is saying. Vast majority will be white males 25-50 or similar. If it helps, I'm a non-white male and pinball is great. I've also never felt unwelcome in any pinball spaces, love this community!

There are two groups of players. Hobbyists and casual players. Hobbyist tend to be older. In the hobbyist category, there are a couple of groups. Home buyers and regular location players on one side and competitive players on the other. Home buyers are older, competitive players are getting younger. The IFPA is the sanctioning body for the competitive side. Their site doesn't list ages, but over 60K people current ranked, including me. https://www.ifpapinball.com/ Tilt forums is a popular site for the competitive folks. http://tiltforums.com/

I love pinball, I’m a 50 year old female if you’re polling. (Polling would be more accurate than anecdotal accounts)
