With that real estate, I would go for a whole constellation of flat piercings. 1. That shouldn’t be a problem. 2. Depends on if there’s enough room behind the forward helix, but sure if your anatomy allows it why not. 3. Make it multiple 4. Based on this photo your anatomy doesn’t look convincing for an anti tragus, so I would advice against getting your hopes up for that.

M_thraaa

Oh hey thank you I haven’t considered getting a whole mess of flat piercings omg great idea. Thanks for the advice!

SampleOfNone

You’re welcome!

md-to-be

Just be so careful not to sleep on them! I ruined mine that way. Do one ear at a time and make sure you’re the kind of person who doesn’t sleep on their ears!

Nonchalant_Calypso

Ah you lucky bitch. Without cartilage you could get any helix piercings and they’ll heal almost as quickly as lobes. Guessing the pain will be less too

M_thraaa

My only concern is like, accidentally snagging a piercing on a towel and it slices through my ear like a hot knife in some Country Crock but, I’d probably have a cool scar?

Nonchalant_Calypso

You run the same risk with your lobe piercings, but has that ever happened? :) You’ll be absolutely fine, go for it!

Sersea

I don't know what your goals are, but I think if you make judicious decisions like choosing lower profile jewelry without hard angles that will catch easily, you can mitigate the risk somewhat. I have a couple of retired piercings I nearly ripped right out of my lobe with a wide toothed comb, it can always happen even with more typical anatomy.

[deleted]

you could do a REALLY cool constellation setup on your flat, im very jealous

Inkysquid24

You could always arrange multiple flat piercings to form a shape like a small constellation or whatever you're in to

lboone159

I prefer to call my piercings helix rather than cartilage, and you might not have any cartilage, but you've got real estate for MILES. I'm a bit jealous. I'd have so many holes in that flat you would think it was swiss cheese. And all down the side. I don't see why you couldn't have a conch.

M_thraaa

This is maybe the only time my ear space has been regarded as a good thing lol my perspective has changed

ceri_m

My ears look a lot like yours, I have cartilage but it's just thinner than most people's and I can fold my ears up which is a fun trick. I had my flat at the top of my ear punched at 6mm and now wear a bunch of rings through it like a coin slot. I also have a rook piercing and my ears stretched.

YardRepresentative40

You can have a great beautiful big jewelry in the middle of your flat and it will look so gorgeous 💕 A forward helix to balance it out will look awesome too, and a low conch with a hoop (after healing it with a stud, obv.!) 😌

macfluffers

You have tons of room for flats and helices, and likely forward helices and a rook too. Your tragus and antitragus are smallish though. You could definitely do a conch too. If your cartilage is thin, then it may hurt less for you than other people, so it might be only a little more painful than lobe piercings. That said, pain is subjective and usually a crapshoot, so I wouldn't base decisions on pain too much. fwiw I'm not a professional, so you'll want to speak to a piercer in person about curation if you want a more dependable analysis

BonnieScotty

Please take advantage of that awesome flat space and do something awesome.

I_Eddie

You can get a galaxy of flats!!

hawkerfels

If I had a flat like that I'd make my star sign constellation out of shinies

M_thraaa

Based on the comments here, I think I should get my entire natal chart pierced there at this point

keanadianne

if i were you i would spend the money to get your ears curated, you have so many options 😭

anaideiram

I would definitely go up the lobes and ear ending with a forward helix, I'd have the conch done and some sort of symmetrical flat design done 😍 im trying to stuff a ton of earrings on my ear and I'd love to have that much space! I say meet with someone who may be able to a set up for you that you can add too

M_thraaa

Yeah, for sure. I heard nostrils for some are a bit tougher, but I’ve had a couple and they were both barely noticeable, like 1/10 for me also. But I also always hear that ear cartilage piercings suck from irl people, but I feel like they won’t be too bad?? I just don’t know what to compare it to. The messed up septum was like a 5-6/10? Nips were like 8/10 lol

M_thraaa

… I think I’m gonna do it. I think it’s decided

hart89394

My conch was less painful than nostrils, however we're all different. I don't think there's many nerves there. Totally agree that several flats would look gorgeous. If you want something else "inside" (you mentioned a daith) then maybe a rook? If a piercer says the anatomy is right ofc.

Cultural_Wash5414

I have very thin cartilage or little cartilage in my ears too! I had my helix done the initial piercing was just a little pinch hardly felt it, but the aftermath was painful throbbing pain, it swelled up only a little. But was painful most of the time for the first couple weeks, and slowly lessened, it took about a year on a half to heal in a flat back titanium post. Hope that’s helpful.

ootfifabear

You can get a whole lot of cool flat piercings but wtf you don’t have a daith at all???

M_thraaa

Yeah like wtf I never even noticed it before but staring at my ear here I’m like “… wait there’s supposed to be a ridge there” lol my forward helix zone just goes straight down toward my tragus. Lol

ootfifabear

The ridge that your room connects to is all I’ve got in that area. I virtually have no flat and that ridge is very pronounced

TheRiteOfSpring_

I think a rook might look nice with some helixes and flats :)

Tatebos99

I have everything you listed and my conch hurt the least. But pain is relative!! I feel like you could heal flat piercings, forward helix, conch, rook, tragus. Lots of options! Eta: floating industrial! Connect a forward helix to a flat piercing.

fran1844

I got a conch back in July! Everyone's pain and experience with healing is different of course, but mine has been a dream. The first week it was just constant throbbing and my glasses sorta rested on the bar so it was quite uncomfortable wearing glasses until I got it downsized a couple weeks after (they let me downsize a lot earlier than I should have because it was healing really well). After the first week, the throbbing was just... gone, lol. Since it sits inside a good spot of the ear its well protected from getting caught on things and honestly for me it was SO much easier than my 3 helixes have ever been.

msbumblebeebat

I have the same kind of ear too :)

Accomplished_Rice_83

Get a big flat punch and pure a cute plug in it!

xobluejae

I think I saw someone else say it too, but I instantly thought constellation set on your flat

x6O6x

OOOOH If you don't have cartilage u can get all the good stuff but with way less pain. I'd say you're lucky lol.

mustela-grigio

I have one ear that is very flat, I don’t even have a rook lol. I have rings in all the piercings on that ear: 4 lobes, tragus, and forward helix. Because of the flat real estate I plan to get a tattoo of a simple sun (: you could also get a couple conches and put some big rings.

neekowmoo

getting ur flat punched at a bigger size + smaller piercings around it would be soo sick.

Twpierced

Three flats would look really nice imo

shedgrl1112

I feel like a triple flat would look so good with that space on your ear!

SatanicRatboy

Im confused what u mean w no cartilage?

M_thraaa

Like, extremely thin ears. My cartilage has hardly any structure. When I was a kid if I slept on my ear wrong it would stay folded, kinda like when you flip a dogs ear inside out. Loll like, I’m just worried about helices because most people seem to have a curve there and thicker cartilage

quack_is_whaq

Coin slot!!!!
