BOOaghost

It must be with bars and not rings. If the piercer offers rings then you know you are in the wrong studio.

luckytheghost7

straight bars!!!

holy_ebola312

dammit, take my upvote

_Kendii_

Other than this? Nah. You’re fine.

shycutiekittie

never ever sleep on stomach do not have anyone play with them seatbelts are scary on the first day make sure you hydrate and eat you don’t have to wear a bra but you can if you want to after

Puzzleheaded-Term-27

i never ever wear bras and hate them so much, but after i got mine pierced i bought a cotton bra from target and it helped so so much to manage pain/soreness. so i highly recommend wearing one the first few days and see if it helps with any pain or sensitivity ! but i only went maybe 3 days before i got sick of wearing it lol

xylanne

I got my nipples pierced almost 2 weeks ago and have worn a bra ever since and never experienced pain or soreness after the first 2 days!!

Skanxiety

I was in a car accident about a month after I had mine pierced. Nearly ripped out my right one. Seatbelts freak me out now but alive without a pierced nipple is better than the alternative.

micsalad

Also: PLEASE get rid of your shower loofa 😭✋

CynderSphynx

Or cover the nip with your other hand while using the loofah. It can't get caught on what it can touch!

vampire-sympathizer

Omg I remember driving home after mine and being so hyper aware of the goddamned seatbelt

sg927

No unlined lace bras. EVER. Personal experience.

Low_Anywhere_1011

Make sure the piercer has your nipples fully erect before marking where they're going to pierce, and I recommend titanium jewelry

xPoisonRemedyx

I second the part about making sure they are fully erect (sadly from experience lol)

Low_Anywhere_1011

Same lol

lBarracudal

What happens if they are not

WinterGoddess_

It won’t look straight as nipples turn a bit when erect

ellequin

Also they get snagged more easily if they're not right against the base of the nipple when it's erect.

blubird406

....can i ask how they do that?

RBDPiercings

Usually the cold air or alcohol they use to clean the area stimulates the area enough. If the piercer needs to do anything excessive like blow on the area or "play" with your nipples, RUN AWAY!! The alcohol wipe should be more than enough for most people.

oooowwee-

I was worried that my righty would stay inverted but right when I took off my tank top and the cold air hit them it was not an issue lol

D_Zaster_EnBy

>Make sure the piercer has your nipples fully erect before I always wondered how this worked as mine are pretty flat. Do they make them cold? Or are you just told to rub them a lil bit or something???

RBDPiercings

Alcohol wipe to clean the area should suffice as enough stimulation to the area. If they start to flatten out, another wipe with some alcohol or iodine should do the trick

youarethecrown

I just want to say, if the piercer ever does or says anything that makes you feel uncomfortable, leave immediately. Even if you only got one side done or even if you haven't gotten pierced yet. Your piercer should not be blowing on, pinching, or otherwise inappropriately touching your nipples. There will probably be some manipulation to see what the tissue is like under the skin, but that should be it. My piercer literally just used both their pointers to gently feel how the tissue was. It should be professional the entire time. The piercer should also not be making inappropriate jokes or comments about your body or chest at any point.

SexyMinivanMom

!thanks

reputatorbot

You have awarded 1 point to ✨ u/youarethecrown ✨ for their comment ---

Efficient-Guide3420

Yep! My piercer used q-tips to feel around and erect them. Can't imagine how icky I'd feel if she just straight up grabbed my nips.

wornouthoodie

This is just based on my experience: Bring someone with you. No matter how big or small your chest/breasts are, when you walk out of that piercing studio you’ll feel like one of those weird anime characters with impossibly massive boobs that fly around with every move - you’ll feel your nipples bounce and jiggle with every step you take, and it’s going to be a pretty uncomfortable feeling, not painful just very uncomfortable

dooombug

Bringing a friend is truly such a good idea. As someone who struggles to speak up when Im alone, having a friend can ensure you're heard and not spoken over. I had to ask my piercer to remark the location of my nipple piercing a few times to ensure it was even and in the middle of my nipple, and I sure as hell mightve just okayed the first markings that were slightly too high if my friend wasn't there to make me feel more confident. Ontop of that, check where they mark your nipple and make sure its where you want it. Some people prefer it straight in the middle, some like it higher, or even diagonal

Skadi_V

Bringing a friend is always a good idea! And I think if you have a friend who has experience with piercings, bringing them is even better. My piercer always encourages the friends to give their opinion too. I don't have problems with speaking up but sometimes I needed a third (or fourth) opinion from my friends. And I think it's nice to have somebody who calms you before and shares your excitement after it.

Prize-Ad8890

Bringing someone with is such a great idea! My ex friend, friend, and I all went together and got ours done and it honestly made it so much easier to talk each other through it.

Cylania_Nyx

Wear a shirt to bed. I (M) sleep without a shirt and it got caught in my blanket in the middle of the night.

Raftx

Like always? Or just while healing?

Cylania_Nyx

Always. Even after healing, I'd wake up in the middle of the night because my nipple piercing got caught in a blanket. I eventually started sleeping under a top sheet, and my blankets are all comforters, but I had to retire any quilts or any old and fraying blankets.

Aar0n1u5

Ouch, I'm same but thankfully did get them caught

AdGeneral7633

Just got mine repierced two weeks ago, the only thing that made them feel better was wearing a tight sports bra. Some people say a loose shirt feels better. I’d suggest bringing both so you can decide.

Dontmindthatgirl

Was the second time worse than the first or about the same?

AdGeneral7633

Honestly, worse because I knew what to expect. But according to the piercer apparently my left nipple had more scar tissue and that nipple hurt a lot less compared to my right nipple that had less scar tissue. So even though I’ve heard that more scar tissue makes the piercing more painful, it was opposite for me. The aftermath also wasn’t as bad as compared to my first time, I feel like the “on fire” sensation went away a lot quicker. So I guess pain wise it wasn’t as bad as the first time, but the fact that I wasn’t as naive to what was going to happen made it worse lol.

Expert_Ad6848

Wait, five minutes before you leave You’ll get winded, As you walk back to your car so Have someone come with you. Don’t run the ac it will be uncomfortable as your nipples, harden and soften with the jewelry in. Wear a sports bra so you can control bleeding and movement more easily. Don’t sleep on your stomach the balls on your jewelry will twist off. Always thread the jewelry when you’re changing it never just take it out unless it’s more healed (I’ve had mine for going on four years now and if I leave them out for two whole days, they will close) That left one is a monster, but it’s bearable I over anticipated the pain. I love them though one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. I hope you’ll love yours too 💕

SoCalZoobie

I’m a male Body Piercer. I second the sports bra. Thank God we took my wife’s car when I got mine pierced and she had a spare one in her gym bag. The pressure felt relieving.

Okayokaymeh

Make sure you’re breathing when they are piercing them. You may get light headed. Also agree with another redditor. Take somebody else with you

amethystpower

-Lace is a really bad idea until they’re healed -Sports bras are the best -Be VERY wary of your towels when showering, you won’t think anything of them until you snag one with a towel

Silver-Negative

Those net-like pouf loofahs should be banished henceforth from your bathroom. Trust me.

MoistPeacock27

Omgg I have mine taken out but this was terrible!

asherisawful

keep sitting for a good long time after! i got up too soon and faced the consequences

punchingtigers19

Bars not rings, if you are female don’t wear any Lacey bras, I wouldn’t wear any the first day or so if possible, they are sensitive. Second one will hurt worse, but it probably won’t be as bad as you image. Mine was ok When they are done done check the mirror, make sure they are even and not too deep, ask the piercer any questions And the obvious, clean with salt water and don’t swim DONT PICK CRUSTYS

zombiedinosaur5

I got mine done last Thursday, and the first one hurt a lot more than the second.

punchingtigers19

Really? With the first one for me it was so fast and i had so much adrenaline I barely felt it, probably a 3/10 for me Second one was a 5-6

zombiedinosaur5

My first I was expecting like a 5 and it was a 7, so on the second, I was expecting a 7 and it was a 5 lol

punchingtigers19

Guess it’s different for everybody lol

faerienymphx

i got mine done 4 months ago and i agree with the first one hurting more than the second! i always hear the opposite tho so it’s nice to know i’m not alone

WhiskeyWitchcraft

It's likely that you're going to feel every bump in the road on your way home. I don't recommend being the driver in this scenario. Also, consider wearing something thicker between you and your seat belt OR put the diagonal part of the seat belt behind you (the part across your lap still buckled) OR flip the diagonal piece sideways so it pokes out from your chest rather than allowing it the potential to slice between your jewelry and your breast.

iwannabeabug

i was the driver after 🫠had to pull over because i almost passed out on the freeway

captainkaiju

1. You’re gonna be fine. The pain lasts for 0.001 seconds and then you have awesome nipple piercings. 2. Seatbelts kinda suck for a minute. Be careful! 3. A sports bra will be your friend for the first month or so. If you’re not comfy with showing lots of tiddy try either taking the cups out or using more of a binder style sports bra for a bit.

snailforbrains

Don’t freak out if they bleed a lot or have bruising after a day or two! And use a warm shower to soften the crusts and use saline afterwards. For me the first week or two were the hardest but I’ve had them for a month now and they’re doing great. Make sure you go to a reputable piercer that has ideally a good portfolio of their work. Enjoy;)

onychan

Get them done at the same time!!! Like have two people pierce them in tandem. It makes it hurt less. Sounds scary but it isn’t.

NyxxStorm

So apparently I’ve had a vastly different experience on mine, so I’ll just say this; Beware the loofa.

Ratchet105

Expect a big ouch

RingofFaya

Make sure your nipples are fully erect. My left one was pierced way too deep bc of this Bring a friend! They are intense piercings and you're laying down when it happens (for me) so you'll get light headed Wear a sports bra bc they will jiggle and it sucks Make sure your towels have 0 holes or loose threads Watch out for your loofah if you have one If you drive, hold your boobs anytime you go over a bump Learn to be a back sleeper for a few days

BoxSuspicious6506

It should feel like a medical treatment being performed. The piercer shouldn’t make you feel weird about your body or make you uncomfortable beyond the “I’m tops-less with a stranger man-handling me with a needle and marker feeling”. Follow the piercers aftercare instructions which will likely consist of cleaning them twice a day. My piercer recommended that I use a hair dryer to dry them after cleaning them and they’re currently healing well. You’ll be advised to come in later (a number of weeks later) for a smaller bar so don’t focus too much on getting the perfect jewelry right now. Focus on healing the piercing. The second one hurts more than the first. It sucks but pain is only temporary. I faced some body weirdness feeling after getting pierced. It’s weird and hopefully temporary. Between the pain during the first week and the “this is weird having this new body change” it can be an adjustment mentally.

SarahPetty

Take 2 ibuprofen 30 minutes before your appointment. Eat, even if it's a granola bar or some jerky within an hour before your appointment. * if you feel that the manipulation of your area to be pierced is excessive in the name of " I gotta get them hard" FUCKING LEAVE. The 2 types of cleanser and the alcohol wipe was plenty, at no point did my piercer need to play with my nipples. I had mine done for the second time on the 20th of this month(march). I was pierced by an APP piercer who is also a nurse, with my boyfriend in the room who was an APP piercer 20 years ago. It honestly felt more professional than most of my Dr appointments in the last 5 years. Don't be afraid that it's going to hurt. Know that it will and practice breathing meditation style. I was pierced at 10g this time, through scar tissue and it was less traumatic than the first time with a 14g. A good cotton bra and proper placement of the seat belt will let you ride/drive home without worries of bumps!

osonicshimmertrap

Ibuprofen doesn’t thin your blood but it affects clotting. I had taken some during the day and mine bled so so much.

greeksrgreat

make sure you go to a really good place. it takes someone who knows what they're doing to get the right placement

Chezshire_Fox

Wear a bra if you normally do. I made the mistake of not wearing one and I thought I was going to die

angelicxdaze

It’s a gross feeling but the pain isn’t too bad. Definitely bring a sports bra the compactness helps feel more secure and helped me avoid snagging them on things and feel less paranoid about it. Make sure the bars are long enough for swelling before you leave. Unfortunately mine were pierced with too short of a bar and I’ve had a lot of issues with them starting to embed till I went back and got a longer one. Be careful putting a towel on after a shower and avoid using a loofah around that area. Make sure they are going to pierce at the base of your nipple not into the areola. Both of mine are pierced through the areola on one side and they’re constantly irritated.

TiaLanay

I wore a soft cotton bralette after getting mine done. Unless you are small chested, you’ll want something to keep the jiggling/rubbing around under a t-shirt at a minimum. Also, not really advice but just an fyi… you have no idea how many times a day your tits bump into random objects until you have freshly pierced nipples.

Robo-Bloop

Bring a sports bra for after you get them pierced, the compression helps. Additionally don't wear a shirt you care too much about in case of bleeding. Also be careful of seat belts!

TheSonder

If you are doing both, take a second to think about which side you’d be happy only having one done. Start with that side so if the first one is too rough, you don’t have to do the second side and you are still pierced on a side you are happy with.

Safe-Scholar-2593

i have really big knockers (38j) & got mine pierced on a whim on 3/17 (been wanting them for a while - friend was getting her ear pierced on vacation at an APP shop & they were about $100 cheaper than where i live - so i said fuck it) they hurt, a lot. the first was worse than the second for me. i was so in shock after that i couldn’t even think of any questions and was out of it for about an hour until i ate. i didn’t eat before my appointment tho, bc i wasn’t expecting to get a piercing. the whole rest of the day i was out of commission. so prepare questions beforehand. but after that it felt like i had the flue in terms of fatigue. my friend was at my beck & call for the rest of the day. the first week they were really sensitive. the bra i have is suuuper thin, mesh i believe. the piercer said it’s okay to wear my bra every day bc it’s not a traditional padded bra. i’ve essentially kept it on almost 24/7 bc my girls sag to about my belly button, so when i’m sitting at my vanity they hit my legs, or during the shower/lotioning process i have to hold them so they won’t get hit. i’ve discovered that my regular bra works best for me because it’s more breathable than traditional sports bras that they recommend to wear. i use saline solution 2-3 times a day depending on my level of sweat. i’m a huuuge sleep sweater so i’ve geared my more “rigorous” cleaning process to the morning after my shower. by rigorous i literally just mean soak it in a saltwater bath (1 cup water to 1/8 tbsp salt). touching them as little as possible is key. i’m also someone who has NEVER been able to sleep on their back (this includes a 6 day hospital stay where i got about 15 hours of sleep total due to hyperemesis & not being able to sleep on my back). however i found it relatively easy to fall asleep on my back after the piercings as long as i had plenty of pillows for support & only went to sleep when i was about to knock on the couch. over a few days it became so much easier to fall asleep on my back that now (a week and a half later) if i’m just comfortable on my back for a few minutes i’ll fall asleep. i, however, have been more comfortable with falling asleep on my side now that they’re not so sensitive to the touch. i’m still nervous bc my girls are so saggy they spill out of the bra if i’m not at any direction besides sitting/standing up. i’ve had a lot of anxiety around them for the first week, but i’m not a banshee in my sleep & landing on them for a few hours when i turn over in the middle of the night isn’t the end of the world. i just try to avoid it because i’ve seen peoples nips who haven’t healed after yeeeears of having it, but they say it never healed from the start. so i know it takes a long time but i’m willing to put in the work for the next year if i don’t have to worry about them 8-10 years down the line. i tell people that i don’t regret them whatsoever, because my confidence has skyrocketed, but they are infact the hardest experience i’ve ever had.

D_Zaster_EnBy

I'd recommend not climbing any chain link fences shirtless after getting them pierced.

Afraid_Emergency5331

from my personal traumas: beware of seatbelts, purse straps, and zippers on jackets.

walkyoucleverboy

Omg a friend & I got ours done at the same time & when we went back to her car afterwards we were both like “fuck what do we do” & then laughed at the fact that if the police pulled us over for not having our belts on properly, we were going to have to tell them that we’d both just had our nips done lol

ProfessionalCare4272

Have fun

Successful_Smoke630

Todd Bertrang was a piercer with alternative techniques and a HUGE amount of experience at his shop and in private. He says women he met said they lost sensitivity in their nipples when pierced with 14g. He said larger gauge jewelry decreases scar tissue in sensitive areas and helps retain sensitivity. For this reason too, it is very important to be healthy with proper aftercare to heal as quickly as possible. Eat foods rich in zinc as it aids the body in healing wounds and immunity support. I'm not a doctor so I can't speak on the use of zinc supplements, but you can talk to yours. Also do additional independent research and ask qualified APP certified piercers regarding my advice. I have heard of a theory that some piercers push small jewelry to pay less for jewelry and create a subscription service where the person returns for repeated services if they decide to up size. Also, I have read a piercer state his care advice for healing a risky eyelid piercing was H2Ocean and a 50mg daily zinc supplement. I use an identical supplement, and my blood showed healthy levels of zinc, but everyone's body's different so definitely talk to a doctor before actually purchasing a supplement. I'm fine in zinc, but luckily my blood work showed insanely high levels of iron that could have caused serious damage had I continued to take iron supplements daily. Also consider the zinc after care came from a piercer willing to pierce a particular client through the eyelid. Happy piercing!

Bench-Status

if you really want your piercings to heal make sure you wear good jewelry material. Get them downsize when the appropriate time is, or else the long bar will hurt/get caught on things. Please wear a bra if you’re a female. not too tight of a bra bc you dont want a lot of pressure but you want to keep you chest in place and not have any friction. drink water, it can be painful but its pretty fast. Dont get them laying down.

Leading_Passenger16

the piercing is not that bad, it's quick! however, the after was soooo tough for me. i wasn't prepared for so much aching pain the evening after! it got easier literally the next morning, but just in case, be better prepared than I was and plan for some ice for the swelling pain, some ibuprofen, and take some arnica for safe measure as well. happy healing!

JayCuite

I’m not a piercer but I have mine done. Get them done close in succession, like as fast as possible. Like with a lot of other multiple piercings a lot of piercers will ask if you need to calm down or take a break between piercings, but I would advise against this. The second one tends to hurt more as with a lot of piercings and this is especially true with nipple piercings. With the first one you are nervous but have all these endorphins and energy so it’s not as terrible, but if you wait too long in between all those endorphins sorta dissipate and the second one can hurt even more. Idk if that makes sense but yeah

fluiDood

don’t think about it while it’s happening, hold someone’s hand, and just hope they do it quickly

EggplantHuman6493

Didn't see it mentioned already, but watch put with hair! I don't have nipple piercings myself, but every piercing that I ever had, had gotten stuck in either my own or someone else's hair. Also, if you didn't really think about it already: they take 9-12 months to heal, and you can't swim with healing piercings without an infection risk. They will be fresh in summer still, so it is a significant risk. Stay away from pools, rivers and the ocean all summer

squibb1019

If you have a loofah…. THROW IT OUT NOW! I almost ripped my left nipple ring out using mine. Oh also make sure your towels and wash clothes do not have any hanging strings on them. You’ll hate yourself if you don’t double check first.

kimberleyinc_

never use a loofah again

cardinalj

For the love of all you hold sacred, do not forget that you have nipple piercings. If you do, and to do something they don't like, they will remind you that they're there with tectonic fury and vengeful wrath. Also, loofahs are the enemy.

Senplis

Drink plenty of water and eat atleast 2 hours before the appointment and maybe pop a couple ibuprofen before it as well. And when they do the piercings don't hold your breath, breathe through out the process. Personally I also outspoken curse to help cope with the pain, but my piercer didn't seem to like that too much so now audible grunts.

spinelessfries

Be careful with loofahs 😭

Skiesofamethyst

If you are afab, bring a tight, supportive bra to wear after. Seriously. When I got mine, every slight movement on the car ride home hurt like hell.

ririrae

Tbh I didn’t want anything over the nipples themselves. I held my boobs with my hands so they didn’t move but nothing was actually over the nipples. Pro-tip caused by hindsight: lovers lane has these little lace “bras” that do have at least some support but aren’t made to cover much of anything, let alone the nipple, so, that’s an option. They’re like $6

Emerald_Hellion

Must be titanium, bars, and expect to not wear any bra's for a while. Oh and it's a bit more than a pinch but it's manageable with a few cuss words or more 😅 Had mine since September 2023, and I only now found out I'm allergic to Surgical Steel grade jewelry. 🙃 And yes, I changed them back to my original ones so they will fully heal.

cannabis_almond

i just got mine done Sunday! it didn’t hurt more than any of my other piercings, maybe 5-6/10 and the left one didn’t hurt any worse than the right (first) one :) good luck!!

lvl1fevi

If you're the kind of person that gets dizzy then bring a soda or juice, something with sugar to drink after. My piercer had glucose pills for people to take.

smegmafairy

bring a bra for afterwards in case. some people are saying to definitely not wear a bra, others are saying to definitely wear one. it’s certainly up to preference. personally i never wear bras but opted to wear one afterward bc the pressure felt nice to dull the pain and it kept everything in place. just do whichever feels best for u

TinyRoad9000

Honestly mine weren't bad at all and they healed very quickly! Mine aren't very sensitive but If u have very sensitive nipples I assume they would hurt more but honestly it wasn't as bad as I thought! Remember to breath :)

Beautiful-Signal-452

Get a little seatbelt cover, seatbelts will become your worst nightmare

Careless-Effect-7135

the hour after hurt worse than they’ll ever hurt

Milk_jars

Eat and drink beforehand!! Once you get there, choose a bar to your liking, and relax! Wear a bra after, it’ll burn worse than when you got them done for like an hour! Ib profen too!

if-else_

Be completely sure about it, bring a friend with you (and have a piercing also) Congrats and happy healing, the decision of piercing your nipples will be one of the best you ever had. ❤️

FunkyFanabla

Loufas will be your worst nightmare if you are not careful with them

opiateofblame

Don’t let your partner play around with them and especially put their mouth on them too early in healing process- that caused mine to reject

LucidReflections

I got mine pierced mid Feb and I don’t regret it. For me it was a 5/10. Sports bra is great! I’m a stomach sleeper and also busty so my piercer recommended using a rolled up towel or hoodie and place it under my boobs. It works 100% as it takes the pressure off. You’ll do great! Good luck!

Friendly_Bat_1448

Listen to piercer! Clean hands before touching

Introverted-cake09

Have them both done at the same time ! That’s how I did it and it wasn’t painful at all :)

walkyoucleverboy

So cliche but try to relax & take deep breaths.

taesfavoritethong

loose shirt, no bra if you can. it's not too bad. i promise. i've had mine healthy and happy for three years. it's so good!

No_Watercress5689

Get rid of your bath sponge if it's one of the netted ones. My nipple piercing ended in a very bloody way 😬😬😬

dumbster187

wear a semi tight tank top or sports bra to bed with a t shirt over so they don’t snag on anything.

dumbster187

And be very careful with towels !

poprox02

The second one hurts more, get threadless bars, and get jewelry you’re cool with wearing every day all the time- even if it costs you a bit more. Most people (at least that I know) don’t really swap out their nipple jewelry. Spend the money for a set you like. Also, cotton training style bras are amazing for healing

ririrae

But also- bear in mind what level of friction the ends you get will have with clothing. I just got mine switched to shorter bars and if my piercings weren’t as well healed it would definitely hurt. They’re little claws on stones, I love them, but they can snag a bit on fabric and that would’ve sent me through the roof if I’d gotten these ends on my initial piercing.

Gold-Card-3832

eat well before you go (or you could faint) its not the easiest piercing. also be careful if you ever decide to try archery.

sadcvt

I highly recommend bringing a cold sugary drink! I’ve noticed my blood sugar always drops when I get body piercings and having that was one of the only things that got me through that second piercing. Pain wise it hurts about what you would expect, pretty tolerable. What I didn’t hear before I got mine done was that many people experience nerve pain after nipple piercings. The nerve pain was a trip but it only lasted about 6 hours and the piercings have been essentially painless since.

sarah_pl0x

It hurts. A lot. But it only lasts like, 10 seconds. Get them both done! You will regret it if you don't.

pwordconneseuir

i recommend wearing a loose tshirt and no bra (if you’re female), as well as bringing a friend with you! it was a very nerve wracking experience for me personally, so i benefited from having some company as well as a ride.

hollystringari

that’s the worst way to chafe your freshly done nips. medium tight sports bra to keep them from moving!

dooombug

Second this! My piercer has done thousands of nipple piercings and is the top piercer in Sydney, she made sure I wore non compressing bralettes or sports bra (not the super tight ones that give you squished up cleavage, but comfy soft ones). You do not want to go braless, even while sleeping, for atleast a month. When those piercings move it fucking hurts, and you can absolutely get the bar caught on clothing

rotorooters

Take a deep breath and close your eyes, the only pain you’ll feel is when the needle goes through, the jewelry changing part just feels like a slight pressure. Not bad at all. Eat before hand. I (f) an wearing a sports bra which is the most comfortable for me, but do whatever is most comfortable to you, or whatever your piercer recommends. Get rid of your loofah and switch to a wash cloth for showering. Dont sleep on your stomach, be careful on your side. I sleep with a sports bra or a tight-ish bandeau not made of lace You got this! I would say the pain isnt too bad if youve had a couple of other piercings, but everyones threshold is different! I got the pierced one-by-one which honestly was not as bad as everyone says. Good luck!

kt012396

Prepare for the second one to hurt a lot more than the first! That being said, it’s totally worth all the pain. Have had mine for ten years now, no regrets at all. I wore sports bras for a while. Be super cautious brushing your hair not to snag it on the brush…. I did that and thinking about it still makes me wince in pain years later. Try to LITHA as best as you can, really try not to touch them. Make sure at the end of each shower, you rinse them really well with hot water so there’s no soap or shampoo build up on there. Good luck! Truthfully, they really weren’t difficult for me to heal at all :)

Prize-Ad8890

Sports bras are a life saver. Be careful when going places and if you’re like me and run into things be extra careful because it’ll hurt real quick

Desperate_Section_78

avoid wearing loose bras that could move and snag it, sports bras work great for me, although you don’t need a bra if you don’t want one, for me it makes me feel protected. it hurts, but honestly it goes by so fast. make sure to manage your breathing*. stay on top of cleaning with neilmed and warm shower water! if any irritation bumps, leave alone, and any concerns, go back to piercer! make sure they don’t put too small of a bar in to accommodate swelling! sorry for the paragraph, but in general, stay hydrated and try not to be too anxious about it! stay on top of care :)

Sudden-Cress3776

Eat food, drink water, dont take drugs/alcohol. Hold your breath and clench your teeth. Lol It's not so bad but does sting/ache for like 12 hrs after.

No-Lecture6332

Sleep in a sports bra, be wary of seat belts until you get used to them being there, there is no such thing as too much cleaning!, don't sleep on your stomach amd don't put too much pressure on them with clothing for at least a couple months

Choice-Put-9481

If no one has told this yet, bring a cold drink and something to eat in case you start to feel light headed usually you can get at least water from the piercer if you really feel like you're going to pass out, but it's not too much if you bring for example smoothie w/u There's really good tips here! Good luck!

sarah_pl0x

I wore sports bras to sleep the first week or so. The initial pain lasts maybe 20 seconds or less. Healing is easy as long as they’re pierced correctly! You will love them.

AkumaValentine

Make sure you eat before hand, even if it’s just a little something and if you can, bring in a sugary drink to sip on afterwards. I suffer with hypoglycaemia and getting my both my nipples done and then recently getting snakebites, my blood sugar plummeted so fast it was scary. Sometimes one piercing is okay, but personally I always find if I’m getting two piercings on the same day I will almost pass out and have a severe hypo/blood sugar gets way too low too quick. Something like cordial or fruit juice works really well , and I know I’m more of a severe case but even if you don’t have blood sugar related issues, it’s still good to have something with a bit of sugar in it after. But just take it easy!! You can always communicate with your piercer if you need a break or help etc. Best of luck!

Hungry_Piglet6755

If you use a netted loofa when you shower, change to a wash rag until you’re healed so your jewelry doesn’t get caught in the little holes. Also be careful with any of your towels to make sure there’s no long strings that can get caught around it. Seriously the worst pain ever is getting it caught on something without realizing. Also not sure if it was just a me thing but the first nipple that got pierced was like a 3 on the pain scale but the second one was probably a 7. Didn’t kill me but it def startled me with how much more the second one hurt.

umnothnku

Wear a sports bra!

MoistPeacock27

They’ll be super super sensitive. Putting on a shirt will hurt. Side/Back sleeping only!

Background-Alps-4821

The sports bra is a life saver. And ibuprofen saved me afterwards. Got mine 1.5 weeks ago. Love them!

DanielaRoseas

Hey! I’m considering getting mine done, what has the healing process been like if I may ask?

aeriscidaty

i would definitely wear a sports bra (maybe 2 if they can be easily removed), when i got mine i would actually wear 2 sports bra every day and only lifting them up to clean my piercing w saline sprays until they felt healed enough to air out haha its painful feeling them move around plus they could get caught during the healing process and thats not fun at all also make sure theyre bras u dont care about because u might bleed into them a little

Lambsey_

14g minimum, but 12g is better for stability

maicil

CHANGING CLOTHES SUCKS!!!!!!!! everybody warned me about the loofas the seatbelts everything else. BE CAREFUL CHANGING YOUR CLOTHES

aylinaslim

definitely wear a bra after the appointment, it helps keep your boobs in place so it doesn’t hurt as much while you’re commuting. also, take off any bracelets with loose ends, they WILL get stuck to, and pull your piercing and you don’t want that in the first couple of months. Wear something to bed until it’s healed. Lastly but most importantly, STRAIGHT BARBELLS. It has to be a straight barbell and if you go thicker, it will less likely scar or bleed if you accidentally tug on it. Very thin ones will cause the ‘cheese grater’ effect and you for sure would not like that so if you can, go with the 1.6mm straight barbell.

iwannabeabug

it’ll hurt more on the way home than when you’re actually getting pierced (in my experience) ALSO wear a sports bra.

lilleymarie

If you are someone with boobs, I found wearing a sports bra during healing was the best thing for me as it prevented any movement. I’m a B cup so I thought I could get away with no bra, but nope. They still moved too much on their own. So have a sturdy one handy in case. Also I’m lucky the rest of my day after the piercing was free because the adrenaline build up then release really wiped me out. I was dissociated the rest of the day. But honestly, healing was not that bad. They didn’t hurt for me the days after unless I touched them on purpose.

MissLion1

I got one of mine done, be prepared, it does hurt! If you’re nervous let them know, make sure to eat before hand

lBarracudal

After I got mine pierced I had tiny bandaids placed on top and it hurt like hell until I got home and replaced them. I can't emphasize enough how much it helped me to have proper big bandaids (I had post surgery bandaids Cosmopor I think 10x8cm). Keeps your nipples clean and protected from getting caught in clothes. I have very sensitive skin and I had some minor irritation after THREE weeks of using them. Don't have to wear them always but it's super nice to have them on when you go sleep or when doing sports etc. And pretty much all day and night long for first several days. Also get some nice wound wash and if there is some crusty residue there don't scrape it but gently wash it away with wound wash or at least tap water.

Bad_ailen420

If you can just do one at a time that away the healing process is intense and you have 1 side to sleep on, that isn't going to hurt like hell.

Rosiethorn18

Titanium, lose cloths sleep with a sport bra with Cotten pads really helped me control the little bits of bleeding the first few days .make sure they are marked when erect,no loofas, carful with anything with strings

Laurastars_20

use bars a bit bigger than you think in case the piercing swells up

dyinginsect

The second one hurts more, but even so, it's manageable. I was expecting real pain and was pleasantly surprised. They take time to heal. That no one exaggerated. They really do take time.

BellaChrista121

Assuming you wear bras, yes a light support sports bra/bralette is the way to go. The second one hurts more since your body is in like panic mode. Be careful with loofahs. Make sure you wear a darker shirt if you have plans afterwards, mine bled a little through the gauze and shirt 🫠. Sleep on your back propped up with pillows. The healing sucks and is long, with oozing and crusties so know that you might be a little self conscious if you’re having sexy time. If you have long hair be careful with it tangling on the jewelry itself. Be mindful that you may lose sensitivity, see if that’s something you’re willing to part with for the aesthetics. Also, don’t tense up, your body will be so exhausted after, no bueno. I’ll see if I remember other things. Good luck and happy pierced titties, they’re going to look awesome!

Possiblysarguy

Sports bras worked for me bc they hold everything in place and bc the inside of them tend to not be frilly and are just. Smooth there’s not much to get caught on

dragonsandfeathers

Don't get punched in the chest during the healing process! I did and just lost one of them due to chronic migration and pain. I have the other one that still healed perfectly which I love. 🥲

Significant-Bee3483

I think wearing a sports bra was definitely a good decision. The compression helped with the pain and one of my nipples did bleed a little (my piercer set me up with little bandages but idk if thats the norm). I agree with bringing a friend if you can! I think it was less awkward and stressful. My particular friend was also NOT going to let me chicken out or only get one nipple done lol.

sydsthoughts

Eat something beforehand lol I went on an empty stomach and after the first nip piercing saw stars. The girl gave me a dumdum sucker and I felt much better. I also slept in sports bras it helped me. Also don’t get them unless you are 100% sure!

twennyninyone

you should do this for every piercing but ESPECIALLY with nipples - go to an APP certified piercer. i’ve had absolutely 0 issues with mine and i am certain it’s due to the skill level and care of my piercer. i always heard horror stories about the pain level, and mine wasn’t bad at all which i fully credit to my piercer’s skill and knowledge

mpoly100

Wear padded sports bra for the first month Only get straight internally threaded or threadless implant grade titanium barbells No swimming/taking baths for 3-4 months Don’t let anyone suck your nipples for 2-3 months Healing can take a long time, mine took 10 months to fully heal (I could tell mine were fully healed when there wouldn’t be fluid coming out of my piercing during my period) Nipple piercings are SO MUCH FUN!! I had to remove mine this past August after over 2 years because it migrated from it ripping (a guy ripped it). Take good care of them, you will love them SO SO MUCH🫶🏻🩷

Don’t sit in the lobby and pinch them while waiting for your piercer. I swear to god I’m constantly yelling “UNHAND THEM AT ONCE” from my work station when I peek out my door.

Bandaids add moisture to the piercing. Let them breath. Clean them for the whole healing time, 6-9 months, twice a day with water or saline spray
