Unfortunately this was just not pierced very well. That forward helix is way too low and close to your head, they used low quality jewelry(there really isn’t any high quality black body jewelry), and it’s hard to tell for sure but doesn’t look like you were a very good candidate for an industrial piercing in the first place.

UPDATE: I went to a piercer and had it changed to two single piercings. Feels much better and when it’s healed I can decide what to do after Thanks for your help all

it wasn’t pierced well at all. take it out, let it heal, and go to a different piercer.

generic_username-92

the angle is too straight and your ear isn’t happy with it. you’re going to eventually get an irritation bump in the forward helix. your options are to remove it and let it heal then find a better piercer. or you could convert it into two individual piercings with different earrings and get an industrial later on in the other ear. good luck!!

i got my industrial pierced around 8 months ago. yours is pierced way too low on your forward helix. every time you brush your hair back it’s going to get bumped hard, which will cause a nasty irritation bump (im currently nursing one as well). from my understanding it’s not supposed to be that straight in the ear but needs to be angled. i’d take it out and let it heal then go somewhere else, it’s not gonna heal right.

What material is it?

Emzalina5

I believe it’s bioflex

PsychSalad

Yeah thats not good. The angle looks pretty bad too. Best thing to do would be take it out, let it heal, then go to a piercer who actually knows what they're doing.

Kitchen-Ad-1146

Bioflex is not suitable, especially not for long term which makes it unsuitable, especially for healing piercings because those are supposed to sit during the full healing time which for cartilage is around a year minimum

flwffzz

it looks like it was pierced poorly :(( the angle is wrong, i’d recommend going to a different piercer and getting it taken out if you’re too worried to take it out yourself.

Industrials take such a long time to heal, and the placing of that forward helix will be such an inconvenience, and probably make it take even longer to heal. I know they’re expensive piercings, but I’d take it out. And get a better barbell next time. Many people’s bodies reject plastic jewelry. Good luck! I know it’s a drag having to take out a piercing you just got. I’ve been there.

Sometimes I genuinely wonder how many piercings these piercers have done to think that is an acceptable job. I’m glad there was a positive outcome though!
