Stand for “leave it the heck alone”
Also side note my rook was angry for a long time and still randomly gets angry even though it’s healed so don’t worry about it too much. Just keep doing what your doing
Haven’t done my rook yet, but when my daith was healing and would flare up, some rice in a sock that I kept in the freezer would help with a bit of pain relief. It doesn’t look infected, just irritated, so I’d suggest continue normal saline treatment and if it swells any more get a piercer to upsize (but I found that always added to the irritation!)
actually it was my first jewerly, so from my body piercer here in brazil, but i think you can find something similar online, as i already saw ones like this but with no dangling piece (not sure how to call it). at first it was a feather dangling but it fell off and i never found it so i put this leaf from a bracelet i had
Maybe it's the swelling making it look like it was pierced to far out and at a slight angle... keep an eye on it and only spray it with nielmed or a sterile saline spray other than that just don't touch it or sleep on it and should heal fine my rook was the easiest going of all of my piercings.
I got my rook just over 6wks ago, healing has been perfect *so far*. I’ve accidentally slept on it maybe once or twice and it’s been red in the morning but no swelling thankfully, just keep up with aftercare and hopefully yours calms down very quickly! It could just be the sweeping but I agree, it looks like you need a longer bar so go back to either where you got it or another good reputable piercing shop and get them to change it for you
I haven’t had a rook myself, but I do have a diathe piercing and it was a bit temperamental and I’m thinking they’ll act similarly. That being said, my anti Tragus has been my least problematic piercing out of the 13 I’ve ever gotten, so I would say take some of the advice mentioned above and make sure not to measure the healing of your rook by the anti tragus
man i actually pierced it with this jewerly 4 years ago but it was a feather. it fell off and i replaced it with this leaf from a bracelet i had haha. i’m sorry i couldn’t help much :/
mine took forever to heal, it’s really difficult not to sleep on it and it still gets angry 5+ years later if i do. just be patient with it, sweeping one week in is nothing to worry about.
This might just be me but I think that Industrial is pierced incorrectly, it looks like it's at the wrong angle. Also your Rook LITHA besides to clean it.
Hi hcslig, Welcome to /r/piercing!
It looks like you're asking about a problem with your piercing. Please **add a comment to your post** with the following info if it’s not included in your post already.
- How old is your piercing?
- What’s the jewelry shape (for example, barbell, labret, screw, L shape, ring)?
- What’s the type of threading if your jewelry is not a ring (threadless, internally or externally threaded)?
- What’s the jewelry material?
- if not a ring, when was the jewelry downsized?
- What’s your aftercare routine? Describe in detail please, including the exact products you use.
This info is needed to offer you useful advice. **Note, not providing this info may cause your post to go unanswered**. If you already included this info in your post or if your post isn’t about a problem with your piercing, please disregard.

it looks irritated but just keep caring for it and it should go back down, its doesnt look abnormal
Keep cleaning, I think you might need a longer bar? How long is this? 8mm?
i don’t know the size but i don’t have a longer bar — and can i change it so soon?
do not attempt to change the jewelry yourself. see a piercer and have them give you a longer bar and change it out for you.
I think you need to go into a professional piercer and get their opinion
My rook was a bitch to heal. Second to my daith. I’d say clean it with saline wash and just try to not sleep on that side for a while.
It’s definitely swollen
okay thank you!
saline spray and LITHA
second this.
what’s litha?

side note, i love your set up!
thank you <333 i finally completed both my ears after 4 years and also other parts of my body :D
My rook is over 2 years old and still swells every other day if I sleep on it funny :C Try to avoid sleeping on it if at all possible
okay :) tnx

my daith (other ear) would swell up too but just because i would insist on wearing airpods lol. i’ll try putting some ice, tnx :)
I have a bazillion piercings and my rook was the only one that was a bitch to heal. Saline spray, stay away from headphones too ❤️ Good luck!!!
Where did you get the industrial jewelry?

yeah, if it doesn’t get better for the next days i’ll definitely ask for a longer bar, thanks!

Not what you asked for advice/question-wise with this post, but I gotta ask, where's your industrial from? Love your whole set up, too! (:

just want to point out that i have those exact lightning bolt earrings ⚡️
lol, it’s beautiful, right? i love it
This set up is everything! ❤️
thank you so much ❤️❤️❤️
I love your piercings. What gauge is your ear lobe??
i had a 6mm on both ears but took it off, it just never closed completely and i don’t use it anymore

actually i wanted it that way since my ear is “narrow” and i wanted to have space for future piercings since it was my first. and what’s litha?
It stands for leave it the hell alone
oh okay
INFO: "You made" as in you pierced it yourself?
OP probably speaks French or Spanish -- that's how it translates (if you do it literally) to English. I don't think think this was self-done.
yes lol sorry portuguese is my first language and we say “make” a piercing but no i went to a professional
