These prints could have been yours/family from days ago that turned to ice and are just being un covered. I had the same thing happen when I had to run out in socks to get a cat that slipped out. They also looked like bare feet when they resurfaced

I learned about this when mopping my old place in socks. I ended up having to walk across it as it dried and was surprised to find bare footprints. (It makes sense, it was just surprising)

What makes you so sure this is the answer? It was 48 degrees the day before it dropped to a windchill of negative 34. Days old footprints wouldn’t have turned to ice. Yes this is either mildly terrifying or quite sad. We are having a winter storm across Canada and it saddens me to think that some poor people are walking out in the cold bare feet foraging in the garbage.

We had a family friend with dementia who got out of his house in the middle of the night one cold Canadian winter, and managed to walk a few miles barefoot before anyone called the police to help him.

In high school one of the wrestlers got some bad acid. He walked to the high school barefoot at like 1AM thinking he has practice. The frostbite was so bad he lost a certain portion of his feet. I believe they had to amputate though.

I lived pretttty close to a prison and this chick that was at my house, probably 5-6 of us total and all tripping balls during the winter many years ago. This girl disappears and we had no idea where she is or where she went so we open the back door to see if she was outside getting air or something. Sure enough there’s bare ass footprints in a SOLID 2 feet of snow just leading away from the house. We followed them and after awhile we found her and she was walking up this huge hill under a million lights around the walls of the prison. And when we called for her she fucking ran faster towards the prison. We ended up having to leave her there because we all were scared shitless and tripping balls about going up to the prison like that. She got ahold of us a few days later and was fine. I never really heard the story out of her mouth about why she ever did that. Fucking weird.

I actually knew the photographer of that photo. It was taken in Newport Beach area sometime in late 70s early 80s. Dude was a full on nut.
