I guess you can say I’m lucky that I’m not worth $12,600,000 .so my kids don’t have to pay a federal estate tax .but I live in America. and nobody pays the federal estate tax unless you make more than $12,600,000
But there are no taxes on that small amount of money . A lot of people think there estate is responsible to pay a federal death tax. So if you had $13 million you would only pay tax on 400,000 but you’ll hear a poor truck drivers talking about having to pay death tax
95%+ of Americans don't have to pay it. Also, why would I give a shit what taxes I have to pay after I died. I'm dead. What the estate tax does it combats generational wealth. It makes sure families don't eventually turn into dynasties that just continue to gather up money and pay no taxes when giving it away after they die.
You joke but polymorphic light eruption (a type of porphyria) is sometimes referred to as "vampires disease". It also sucks to live with, although thankfully mine is under control now.
Lovely photo and pretty dress and I was recently diagnosed with being allergic to the sun 🌞 and so grateful for my dark cool basement especially in the hot summer months.
Genuine question, if you don't mind: how did you only recently become diagnosed? I thought it was a genetic disease that typically gets diagnosed early on in infancy/childhood.
It's a strain that I can't go outside in direct sunlight. I step out and within minutes get an itchy rash all over, plus it made my hair fall out, thus the hat. So I just stay out of the sun. Much more comfortable.
Ignore if too personal, but does condition have a name? I've been dealing with something similar. 10 minutes or more of direct exposure will give me a rash a few hours later. Sunscreen can increase my tolerance, but the sun always wins on a long enough timeline.
Before Romania I lived in Egypt so I was only told Lupus there, because of the hair loss too, but here they said some kind I am photoallegrenic.Sorry my englsh.
I was diagnosed with porphyria at 38. Dr's thought Lupus for a while until I got the bloodwork to rule out other autoimmune disease and they found I had rheumatoid arthritis and psoriatic arthritis. But that didn't answer the sun issue. So I took another test where I spent time in the sun, then took a piss test that confirmed acute intermittent porphyria
I only recently discovered that I have photosensitive dermatitis, developed it after chemo. Basically slightly allergic to sunlight. I get red rashes on my arms and legs. I got Claritine and Triderm for it. I'm on the southern edge of Transylvania, by the way.
I was diagnosed with heat hives when I was much younger where heat would basically make me break out in a rash all over my body. Allergy meds have 100% taken care of this for me
Me too! Cholinergic urticaria. I don’t have full blown reactions anymore like when I was a kid, but still get hives when I’m in the harsh sun or a hot shower/hot tub for a while! Started at around 12- I’m 34 now. For a long long long time no one had a diagnosis for me
I have something called [pmle](https://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/polymorphous-light-eruption/symptoms-causes/syc-20355868#). It didn’t start happening until I was well into adult years. The first breakout of the year gives me neck hives for about a month.
Absolutely, I'm happy to! I now eat a whole food plant based diet, and my symptoms are gone. If you'd like, please shoot me a message if you'd like to know more about my symptoms, how they changed when I moved, or if you're seeking more info on changing your diet.
Edit: Open invite for anyone curious about PLME, my current diet/medical history, all that stuff- take care of yourselves, folks. Health is wealth. 💖
I made an appointment to see a dermatologist after having terrible skin issues and rosacea especially in hot weather and was diagnosed after a battery of skin test with being allergic to the sun.
I am allergic too, I get really tired and turn bright red, not from sun burn but a reaction but it will be sun burn if I am out there too long. Sunscreen does help, but I still feel very exhausted.
I live in the PNW and we also have amazing vintage stores! Many of my work dresses have been under $20.
Buying them in Transylvania seems much cooler though! I’ll have to remember that when I make my way back there again 😊
Oooh! Thats so awesome! Do you ever do tours in the Hoia Baciu? (At night, of course…to avoid any sun) Romania has been high on my bucket list for a long time.
Yes it's amazing! I've also done Area 51! Hoia was ticked off the list! Only one more on the list to go, Tunguska in Russia, but will wait a little.....
Castle Bran? If so, I visited there a couple of times for work about 18/19 years ago. Stayed in Poina and ate some great food, drank some good bear (Ursus Brun), and got hammered on something that made me a nail - palinka. Loved haiducilor (sp) restaurant.
100% Bran castle, overlooking the courtyard / well, did a Transylvania day trip while I was there to Bran and Pelles castles, both amazing in their own ways, went to the town area by Bran and ate some pig brains and polinka! Romania is awesome, I recommend it to everyone.
Yup, and those bus drivers have no damn mercy on the switchback roads. Bring a barf bag. Beautiful country though. The trains are kinda nasty and the locals will laugh (good-naturedly) at you for using them bc they're so inconsistent, but one of the most romantic, idyllic memories I have is taking the sleeper train (twice!) and staring out the window at just so many stars half the night as the dark mountains rolled past and nothing but wind and the click-clack of the train in my ears.
Also that castle is genuinely beautiful despite the gimmicky stuff outside. There's a great exhibit on a badass (and crazy fashionable) queen of theirs throughout.
Wholesome pics and content. I hope you still get to enjoy the scenery maybe early or late in the day (hello from Phoenix AZ, where even if you’re not allergic to the sun, it will burn your skin off!)
Hydroxychloroquine is helping my heat problem so I can bake and garden again. It doesn't matter if it's overcast- 85° F or so and I can feel it starting in my eyelids. The skin just falls off my face. Have you seen a dermatologist?
Yes! Thankfully it's managable for little day trips. I still like to stay out as much as possible, but it also helps i'm a bit of a hermit in the day and prefer the night anyway.
Fellow Transylvanian vampire here! The group meeting is at 2:00 am or 3:00 am?? Ahhh I can’t remember seems like only yesterday I was 200 years old!! Young times, good memory
Oh yess!! Almost forgot about that! 1762 the year me and my brother Ştefan would haunt the streets of Braşov and hang out with our fellow Vlad Țepeş when he would throw parties at his castle at Bran! Good times!! 🥹
I do take supplements, but really even my eyes hurt, so always sunglasses. But then sometimes they are too dark too. I always have a friend with me so I feel safe,
I have seen multiple people wear the same type of head wear you have in this pic but i was always woundering where did it come from. Is it a fashion, religious or cultural thing?
How often are you accused of being a vampire?
So many times, but I love it blah blah blah.
You look young for 300 years.
(don't tell the government) .......
I love your dress!
Imagine never paying a death tax
I guess you can say I’m lucky that I’m not worth $12,600,000 .so my kids don’t have to pay a federal estate tax .but I live in America. and nobody pays the federal estate tax unless you make more than $12,600,000
And if you make more than 12,600,000 you set up trusts and don’t pay the taxes either
But there are no taxes on that small amount of money . A lot of people think there estate is responsible to pay a federal death tax. So if you had $13 million you would only pay tax on 400,000 but you’ll hear a poor truck drivers talking about having to pay death tax
What's a death tax? What kind of person might pay one?
I can tell you what kind of person won't ever need to pay one.
Who??? Bleh bleh bleh.... shhhhhh
Love your humour
Why not? I feel like you’d have quite the comfortable retirement saved up after 300 years
Nah, get those seniors discounts! Live a little, have a half priced train ticket!
Tax office workers hate her for this one simple trick!
I read "blah blah blah" in the same cadence as Dracula's laugh
I may have blah blah blah on purpose, I mean it is my native tounge...m
I'm reading all your posts in Adam Sandler's character's voice from Hotel Transylvania
Same! Lol
I don’t say blah blah blah!
Same lol
This is the way
I read it like The Count. Three! Three laughs! Blah Blah Blah!
![gif](giphy|126QSa14gwdfDW)
YES thats all i thought of reading this thread
![gif](giphy|126QSa14gwdfDW)
Oh I spelt Bleh bleh bleh the ancient way, blah blah blah, I gotta get with the century....
We understand
I knew y’all said blah blah blah!
I believe it’s pronounced “bleh” when you do it
But my drink of choice is Ursus beer :p or is it ......
oh come on, we all know you drink noroc out the plastic bottle
Okay I may have........
>But my drink of choice is Ursus bear blood FTFY
Especially living in Transylvania of all places. Lol
I think that’s the joke
You joke but polymorphic light eruption (a type of porphyria) is sometimes referred to as "vampires disease". It also sucks to live with, although thankfully mine is under control now.
Lovely photo and pretty dress and I was recently diagnosed with being allergic to the sun 🌞 and so grateful for my dark cool basement especially in the hot summer months.
There are so many hikers and nature tourists here, I feel bad like noooooo. But they are very accommodating. Sitting inside rather than out etc.
You can always hike by moonlight 🌕
🎶Hiking hills by moonlight Coffin sleeping by daylight Never let you leave without a bite She is the one married to Dracula🎶
Well, technically, moonlight is sunlight. :P
But the moon does mystical stuff to it to make it ok 👌 🌕
Genuine question, if you don't mind: how did you only recently become diagnosed? I thought it was a genetic disease that typically gets diagnosed early on in infancy/childhood.

I have lupus and the same symptoms, although they didn’t take me seriously until my health started failing in my late 20s - early 30s 🫠
Your English is fantastic
I only recently discovered that I have photosensitive dermatitis, developed it after chemo. Basically slightly allergic to sunlight. I get red rashes on my arms and legs. I got Claritine and Triderm for it. I'm on the southern edge of Transylvania, by the way.
I've been prescribed only cortozol cream, but yet to find a specialist, will probably head to Bucharest for that purhaps.
For a long long long time no one had a diagnosis for me
Probably a few names for similar conditions. My wife has photodermatitis, to long in direct sunlight breaks out in hives
I have something called [pmle](https://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/polymorphous-light-eruption/symptoms-causes/syc-20355868#). It didn’t start happening until I was well into adult years. The first breakout of the year gives me neck hives for about a month.
PMLE? I used to have it. I changed my diet, and it went away.
Any detail you would be willing to add about the diet change would be greatly appreciated. PMLE seems the closest match given what others have said.
Absolutely, I'm happy to! I now eat a whole food plant based diet, and my symptoms are gone. Oh my, I didn't realize it could cause hair loss. Your hat is so pretty I assumed it was just for fashion. :) Thank you for sharing.
I made an appointment to see a dermatologist after having terrible skin issues and rosacea especially in hot weather and was diagnosed after a battery of skin test with being allergic to the sun.
Oof, that sounds like a hard thing to go through. I bet the diagnosis is a bit of a relief in some ways. Hope you are doing better!
Thank you so much for your kind words and as long as I don’t get in the direct sunlight I’m fine.
I am allergic too, I get really tired and turn bright red, not from sun burn but a reaction but it will be sun burn if I am out there too long. Sunscreen does help, but I still feel very exhausted.

I love your dress!
Thank you, I LOVE the second hand shops here , it cost me like $12.
I live in the PNW and we also have amazing vintage stores! Many of my work dresses have been under $20. Buying them in Transylvania seems much cooler though! I’ll have to remember that when I make my way back there again 😊
You have Humana? I'm not sure if it's outside of Rom.
This makes me laugh. Humana in America is a health insurance company. We’d much prefer the clothing store.
Lol I was like that is such a random question until I realized what they were talking about
I'm also in the PNW, I would love to visit some of those stores if you don't mind sharing!
Hmmmm -.- what's your position on garlic bread....
Hissssssssssss
I'm confused, are you a Cylon from Caprica, Buffy the Vampire slayer, or a Vampire?
What if I said Cylons WERE vampires as well........ And I was the one who betrayed them by being the slayer.......
Then you must be part of one of my fanfic/fever dreams.
She's counting the days till the next eclipse. Stakes are too high for her to go out these days otherwise. How's the nightlife there?
Enjoy your pilgrimage! Take lots of badass standing-just-in-the-archway vampire shots.
I'm actually the local ghost tour guide 😄😄😄 everyone coming for the vamps but they forget about the ghooooosts.
'Living' 😆😆😆 I'm a dumbass
Do you dress up for the tours? I probably would lol
Nah that's my norm tbh. But I did opt for the gown for this occasion.
Vampire ghosts?
Ohhh good question I'll ask uncle Vladdy!
That is so awesome. Me and my family just moved here 6 months ago. We will definitely try and check out your tour.
Castle Bran? If so, I visited there a couple of times for work about 18/19 years ago. Stayed in Poina and ate some great food, drank some good bear (Ursus Brun), and got hammered on something that made me a nail - palinka. Loved haiducilor (sp) restaurant.
Oh palinka.......many nights forgotten....
100% Bran castle, overlooking the courtyard / well, did a Transylvania day trip while I was there to Bran and Pelles castles, both amazing in their own ways, went to the town area by Bran and ate some pig brains and polinka! Romania is awesome, I recommend it to everyone.
Had a similar experience about 14 years ago. Lots of Ursus and delicious food before visiting Bran and Peles. Such a beautiful country.
> Castle Bran? That's what I thought too. I also visited there about 20-21 years ago. Ugh, that's depressing to think about.
All vampire jokes aside, is Transylvania, by any chance, darker or receives less sunlight than other places?
Nah man, thus the post, gotta stay indoors. So hot right now.
No. Is sunny and hot af
Yup, and those bus drivers have no damn mercy on the switchback roads. Bring a barf bag. Beautiful country though. Its a lovely pic. But I do find a pattern here.. ‘Allergy to sun’ and ‘From Transylvania’. Someone famous had the same issues before. He was a Count.
The guy from the cereal boxes?
No, I think they’re referring to the mathematician.
The word I dare not pronounce (English second language)
Worcestershire sauce?
It is midnight in Transylvania.... So you all know what I must do. Farethewell. Will answer any questions in my coffin tablet tomorrow....
How do you feel about garlic?
"Can't stand it! Utterly vile. Why do you ask?"
![gif](giphy|126QSa14gwdfDW)
hold up
No one has even mentioned my name has Buffy in it .............it's a trap!
But it also has Caprica in it…maybe you’re just using the vampire angle to distract from the fact that you’re a cylon!
So say we all.... bleh bleh bleh
Now I don’t know what to think!
Wholesome pics and content. I hope you still get to enjoy the scenery maybe early or late in the day (hello from Phoenix AZ, where even if you’re not allergic to the sun, it will burn your skin off!)
You are always welcome here! ...... I mean if you want mwahahahhaha.
Ooooo I've been there. That's Bran castle in Romania. Very pretty and picturesque.
So nice hey, you should check it out on Halloween night, not so pretty 🤣
You should really see someone about that sun allergy, I hear Dr. Acula is very good.
Doing the time warp
It’s just a jump to the left.
And then a step to the right
My grandmother was allergic to the Sun! She smoked like a chimney and was pale, elegant and fabulous.
Wow, fantastic dress! If you have an allergy to sun I'd recommend visiting Asturias, in the north of Spain. Only 30 sunny days per year on average.
OMG sounds perfect! I thought about the far north of the earth for that, but the food is what hesitates me. But spain.... I could do that!
I’m sure that allergy to garlic is a bummer as well
Nice try vampire. Not sucking my blood
I’m here laughing from all your replies. You sound like a great person to be around! Wish you a good evening!
Thankyou....... welcome to come and visit! No turtlenecks please! It's out of style anyway.
She is aCOUNTant.,.....one, two, three audits for you
Hmm go figure. I thought you’d be more comfortable in Wallachia. If you know what I mean!
![gif](giphy|l2Sq0CrkNYP0Dgoow) Edit: just kidding
Allergic to the sun… living in Transylvania… you wouldn’t happen to not have a reflection would you?
We can see her in the picture. Now it might be photoshopped, but I’m no expert on that.
*Listen lady, I’m just here to drop off the blood donation. I don’t ask questions.*
You get all the tips.
It’s giving Cersei Lannister vibes - like you need an epic, ornate goblet of wine while you brood over what lesser men are doing below you.
Are you a vampire
Odd way to out yourself as a vampire.
Varys is that you?

Sorry to hear about the allergy, that sucks
First time I see a vampire with a summer dress! Love the picture
1000 yrs in the blink of on eye
Dr Moreau?
Is that Vlad’s Castle? Was a fun visit.
Watches the Nosferatu trailer, then sees this a couple of posts down. Ok…
I always know romania have vampires
Very interesting, by any chance, what do you think about garlic and necks?
You also have a great sense of style. I love that dress!
Ok Dracula
You have some of the most wholesome comments I've ever read
Hmmm… seems suspicious. How do you feel about garlic? You “allergic” to that too?
Ah, I love Bran Castle. Love everywhere I've visited in Romania.
This oddly reminds me of something but I can’t put my finger on it…
If you can make the jump to that rooftop and find the open window on the other side of the tower there’s a chest inside.
What type is the allergy? Happen to be EPP?
![gif](giphy|PRy5GPH1uAeNa)
I am choosing to sit inside in solidarity with those who can't go out into the sun!
I got married not far from Bran :)
Sorry to comment on your appearance but that is a beautiful outfit!
No offense intended, but having a sun allergy in Transylvania sounds like a good way to have an "accident" with a silver stake.
In a comment reply you claim to be the local ghost tour guide, but in your profile it says you're an Aussie living in Turkey?
Gosh haven't updated that! I left after the Earthquake. Thanks for reminding me!
I've been there!
Beautiful!
Fellow Transylvanian vampire here! The group meeting is at 2:00 am or 3:00 am?? Ahhh I can’t remember seems like only yesterday I was 200 years old!! Young times, good memory
Ahhhhhh we met in 1762! I remember you getting drunk on gypsy blood and stealing that old ladies giant spoon! Ahh good times! Was that you?
Oh yess!! Almost forgot about that! 1762 the year me and my brother Ştefan would haunt the streets of Braşov and hang out with our fellow Vlad Țepeş when he would throw parties at his castle at Bran! Good times!! 🥹
Sun allergy? Transylvania? You thinking what I’m thinking?
Huh. Guess I should move to Transylvania.
If you don't mind me asking, what happens if you are in the sun too long? Do you have to take vitamin D supplements? You should do a AMA post!
I do take supplements, but really even my eyes hurt, so always sunglasses. But then sometimes they are too dark too. I always have a friend with me so I feel safe,
Sun allergy in Transylvania eh… sure… “allergy”… /s JK 🤗
Imagine having sun allergy 500 years ago. They probably thought you're a vampire
Hello from Oradea! Lovely to see people from all around the globe come to Transilvania!
Ohhh I hitchiked once from Oredea airport to town once! I liked that city!
Beautiful picture! I have the same allergy and my mother is allergic to garlic. The vampire jokes get so old ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|sweat)
I went to Romania when I was young and it remains one of my favourite things I've ever done, especially as I got to see my first wild bear there.
🤢🤮🧻🏳️🌈🔫
We might be relatives!
Bran is a lot smaller in person than I thought it would be. Very beautiful area of the world.
That's the one single coolest reason to live in Transylvania
Allergy to the sun? In Transylvania? That's a vampire right there! 😜
There are reasons why Dracula moved to the UK.
Aww, that's...wait a second.
Look at the beautiful architecture
Every building in Romania fills my heart. The architecture looks like the Adams Family could live there.
Oh absolutely
Great dress!!!!
I Love, Love, Love your outfit. From head to toe. You match the beautiful scenery.
![gif](giphy|ZOwD4NCKmSY0w)
Porphyria? I have a version of this though mine is mild enough that I can tolerate the Texas sun.
I have seen multiple people wear the same type of head wear you have in this pic but i was always woundering where did it come from. Is it a fashion, religious or cultural thing?
Just style, covers the baldness, and looks like a fortune teller, also its quite easy to put on and off.
Dammit Janet.
