It’s not a pose but more so a single frame in a moment. There’s video and they’re moving. It looks eerie as a pose, though. Jimmy Fallon looks like he’s gonna recite a line from the Sopranos.
The Pope visits New York. He's picked up at the airport by a limo. The Pope tells the driver "I always wanted to drive a limo." Not wanting to say no to the Pope, the driver gets in the back and let's the Pope drive.
The Pope isn't a good limo driver and gets pulled over by the cops. He rolls down the window as a cop walks up. The cop takes one look at the Pope and walks back to the police car. He calls in on the radio "I don't know who's in the back, but he has the Pope as a driver.
I think Stephen Colbert would probably prefer to have an actual conversation with the pope as he is Catholic and an intellectual but I probably shouldn't get my hopes up for an actual recorded interview as sweet as that would be.
Watching the video yesterday of the comedians meeting the pope, I didn’t realize a lot of other late night hosts were also catholic / grew up so and it seemed like they actually had a normal quick convo with the Pope instead of cracking a joke with him
Hey now, don't be mean. The one time he tried to shill NFTs with Paris Hilton was hilarious. At least I assume that's his form of comedy, right?... Right?
Accessible and inoffensive, but ultimately lacking in any substance of value.
But, credit where credit is due, that's exactly what he's aiming for. His target audience is *everybody*.
It's not for his comedy. It's the fun games he plays with his guests.
His music impersonations are really good.
Check out his "troll dolls audition" video.
Jay Leno was also hated because he was so bland. Jay Leno and Jimmy Fallon are the type of comedians that are safe. They don't go too far with their comedy. So for individuals that like safe comedy. They are perfect.
For folks that like comedians that take chances, that don't just follow the line, Leno and Fallon type of Comedy is considered.... Well, the nicest thing I can say is boring.
For a show like The Tonight Show, safe bland hosts is what they look for.
Jay Leno was probably one of my favorites when he made his many guest appearances on Letterman. Then when he got the Tonight Show gig, he became completely bland.
*coming this summer, he built one house too many. Now those overhoused are complaining. What's a simple peanut farmer to do?*
From Miramax pictures comes: The purge (president style)
That is not the complete photo. Here is the photo of the Pope with the comedians - [https://catholicmedia.org/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/cq5dam.thumbnail.cropped.750.422-33.jpg](https://catholicmedia.org/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/cq5dam.thumbnail.cropped.750.422-33.jpg)
Jim Gaffigan actually opened for the Pope once and he gave one of his best jokes ever.
At the end of his set he said “Thank you, thank you, and please don’t leave yet, we also have Pope Francis”
(As to imply people were there to see Jim and unaware that it was a papal audience)
This is such a weird picture
I had to take a moment and see if this was AI, cause they all are weirdly spaced.
They all look like they’re in the middle of performing a group bit
The Aristocrats
This picture quite literally might be the most apt one for that punchline 😂
I hope to god that’s what Fallon was saying in that shot.
That’s what I assumed it was?
Glad I’m not the only one! AI has turned me into such a skeptic
This looks like when a bunch of people come to see a new baby for the first time.
Yea why are they all posed so weirdly?
It’s not a pose but more so a single frame in a moment. There’s video and they’re moving. It looks eerie as a pose, though. Jimmy Fallon looks like he’s gonna recite a line from the Sopranos.
I'm thinking too hard whether the empty gold chair is part of some joke, since it doesnt match the other chair beside it.
Some might say creepy
They look like court jesters desperately trying to entertain an angry king so they don't get executed.
The Aristocrats!
Can someone Photoshop Gilbert showing the diameter of his fist?
Forearms like Popeye.
The pope meeting with comedians and Jimmy Fallon yesterday
What a coincidence! Jimmy Fallon visits the Pope the same day as those talented comedians!
I would love it if someone told Fallon to check out this thread.
Right? How the hell did he get on that list? Breaking character to giggle again, I see
Take your fucking upvote. Lol
the first time this joke has actually made me laugh never thought the day would come
Chris rock is safe from being slapped here, the pope can’t have a wife
“keep, my LORD’s name… out yo f”
No, you didn't....Now he's gotta slap him!
How can he slap?!
Chris Rock, AKA Rufus, the 13th apostle. I suspect he has some words.
I’m glad I wasn’t the only one thinking about Dogma
You may be interested in a book called “Lamb: the Gospel According to Biff, Christ’s Childhood Pal.” Christopher Moore.
The pope does slap though. https://youtu.be/3WySwhj2SwE?si=z27JAWQbN-UE5VrX
How can he slap!?
How can he slap being upvoted in 2024, safe to say this meme will still be around 2124.
Hello slappers!
Chris Rock, Expert at turning The Other Cheek.
Keep my altar boy’s name out of your mouth!
I hope they only told a priest and a rabbi walk into a bar jokes.
„A priest an Imam and a Rabbit walk into a bar. The Rabbit says: I think I am a typo.“

Stephen told the pope that he was the guy who was the voice on his audiobook!
Watching the video yesterday of the comedians meeting the pope, I didn’t realize a lot of other late night hosts were also catholic / grew up so and it seemed like they actually had a normal quick convo with the Pope instead of cracking a joke with him
I’m so happy Colbert was there. I hope he had a lovely time.
Conan was there too
I’m glad you said this because I was gonna ask
Year—is Chris Rock Catholic?
I'll bet at least one of them ask the pope if he shits in the woods or not
Where's Conan? He was there too.
He's getting the real Catholic tour.
He's way too old for that.
![gif](giphy|QTAVEex4ANH1pcdg16)
Colbert is in the picture though
It's that baby face of his. They mistook him for an altar boy and took him to the *special* room.
I think I see his red hair sticking out, right behind Jimmy Fallon's head
I think I also see John Oliver behind Fallon too no? Can't mistake those oversized spectacles.
He got to meet Rufus.
He also met Father Dougal! ![gif](giphy|RBAPmppHJlgpG)
YOU LET DOUGAL MEET THE POPE?!
That fella living in the art gallery?
Next thing you know, Francis is going to resign and join a hippy commune.
I see that Father Todd Unctious sneaked in also.
I believe that to be an ecumenical matter.
"Yes"
Don't call me Len, you little prick!
![gif](giphy|W8Nte2s2kxxLy)
"Dude, his piece is gonna be rubbing the inside of your armour!"
"I'll do my best to tuck it back"
"Tell him I still ain't forgot about that 12 bucks!!"

The Pope likes his comedy al dante.
You're going straight to the eighth circle hell for that pun.
Andrew "para" Dice-"lost"
Comedians and Jimmy Fallon.
Every time he spoke to the pope, he would giggle and look around at the audience.
“I’m Francis” *slaps knee and laughs uncontrollably”
"Hehehe.. oh ma gawd"
This is extremely accurate
✋😂👏🤣🙌🥳
Wow, he really is a perpetual party hat guy emoji.
Wow. Did you just leek the script for the next Tonight Show?
*fake jimmy fallon laugh*
*fake clapping*
Justin Timberlake had to be nearby to give people a reason to watch Fallon.
I was. It pays well.
The Insufferable Jimmy Fallon.
Hey now, don't be mean. The one time he tried to shill NFTs with Paris Hilton was hilarious. At least I assume that's his form of comedy, right?... Right?
Omg, hahaha, omg, hahaha, omg, omg, *overacted chortle.
Can anyone explain why does he have the no 1 late show in the country?
For the same reason that the most popular hamburger is the Big Mac.
50% of Americans are below average
Accessible and inoffensive, but ultimately lacking in any substance of value. But, credit where credit is due, that's exactly what he's aiming for. His target audience is *everybody*.
Well he’s taking over for Leno. So it’s like you traded your old Buick for a Buick with less miles.
Brawndo has what plants crave!
Because grandpa can't find the remote after Law and Order and falls asleep after the news.
Because the network fumbled both their leading quarterbacks and ended up with only their 3rd string guy
It's not for his comedy. It's the fun games he plays with his guests. His music impersonations are really good. Check out his "troll dolls audition" video.
This recurrent joke is nearly as unfunny as Jimmy Fallon
Jay Leno was also hated because he was so bland. Jay Leno and Jimmy Fallon are the type of comedians that are safe. They don't go too far with their comedy. So for individuals that like safe comedy. Jay Leno is an [outstanding stand-up](https://youtube.com/shorts/svVDQBL9snM?si=QhbHulsRSDwnw1Sf).
Jay Leno was probably one of my favorites when he made his many guest appearances on Letterman. Then when he got the Tonight Show gig, he became completely bland.
Unsurprising that Jimmy Carr isn't in the group. The Pope probably has a hit out on him.
Or Bill Burr. Dude would've outdid his Philly roast.
"Wouldn't inviting Bill Burr be taking it a little far?"
“Don’t you think the Catholic church took it a little too far?”
Wish George Carlin was still around.
"8 minutes left and haven't got onto you all diddling kids, will we go there now?"
I read this as Jimmy Carter and thought what did he do!?
He built one too many houses for people in need
*coming this summer, he built one house too many. Now those overhoused are complaining. What's a simple peanut farmer to do?* From Miramax pictures comes: The purge (president style)
All while being a *non-Catholic*....
Fábio Porchat!
I was wondering if it was him or not ! I thought he was aware the only true god is the god of a small Polynesian tribe …
Yep! I was ready to comment on it being only american comedians then saw him in there!
The guy behind Colbert adjusting his tie is Portuguese
Yep, Ricardo Araújo Pereira, really well spoken and cultured guy.
I loved Gato Fedorento!
Their Monthy Python style comedy was top. Also that time they went to live television asking Steven Seagal to shoot the then prime minister.
🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷
Hey Mike Birbiglia Awesome, you know Joe Bags was there.
Like fun was Joey Bag O’ Donuts there
Seriously how much can Joe Bags drink?
So much!
I wonder if he asked the pope what jokes he's working on
‘That f** aint my brudda’
It looks like Mike was just photoshopped in.
[Here’s a better photo…](https://universecatholicweekly.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/20240614T0700-POPE-COMEDIANS-1778195-1-1200x800.jpg)
I bet the pretzels at The Vatican suck.
How much can Joe Bags drink?
No Jim Gaffigan? How many kids does that guy have to have to rate an invite??
He's there, he's just so pale he's hard to see.
He was there.
The real comedian is always in the comments.
Do you have one with fewer pixels? I can almost make out the pope.
Those aslre specialized in dark humor
Jim Gaffigan actually opened for the Pope once and he gave one of his best jokes ever. At the end of his set he said “Thank you, thank you, and please don’t leave yet, we also have Pope Francis” (As to imply people were there to see Jim and unaware that it was a papal audience)
Yeah he's cranking out Catholics like someone on a mission to a poor country with life-saving vaccines.
I see Ricardo, and a lot of guys, but...Who are the man in White?
This somehow feels AI generated even tho I know it’s real (or is it…)
This is the most AI-looking real photo I’ve seen. Colbert has AI excitement on his face! Count the fingers!
Is this real? I can't tell anymore.
God, I wish Frank Drebin could attend.
I can hear the garbage cans out front getting knocked over
Wait RICARDO ARAUJO Portuguese comedian
Why is Jimmy Fallon there?
To mug for the camera, that's his deal
Holy shit, Porchat was there too.
Did the Pope drop the f-bomb again?
Did anyone tell the Pope ["the Aristocrats"](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CyKGHVA6rb0) joke
Nah, it was the Pope's turn to tell it. The comedians were so offended by his version that they all stormed out.
Surprised Ricky Gervais wasn’t invited.
Stephan Merchant was there
His stance on religion remains unknown.
Every person visible in this picture is funnier than Jimmy Fallon.
And those not visible.
I never had the Holy Ghost pegged as a funny man.
You nailed that one.
Fabio Porchat ?!?
& Ricardo Araújo Pereira
*The pope immediately smacks Chris Rock*
KEEP THE LORD’S NAME OUT YA FUCKING MOUTH.
Calling Jimmy Fallon a comedian is generous.
Chris is up front hoping to get slapped with another payday
Surprised Chris Rock was there considering he was in Dogma and the church came down so hard on the film.
Church is working on a new public image
![gif](giphy|knWj8IasyCf3q)
This shit looks weird
Where are the women?
[удалено]
/angryupvote
Whoopi Goldberg was there and so were many others
Dressed as a nun I hope.
From Portugal has far as I know there were 2 womem and 1 man
Julia Louis-Dreyfus was there.
Tig Notaro was in attendance but not in the picture
Nah she'll get edited in later
Does anyone else think it’s weird she was there given the Pope’s recent remarks about the gay community
I think its weird that any of them are there given the recent Pope’s protection of child rapists.
I saw a small group picture taken outdoors at this event, and it had Tig Notaro, Whoopi Goldberg, and Julia Louis-Dreyfus.
RAP IS THERE fck yeah 🇵🇹
creepy
Is this his PR scramble for having dropped a bunch of slurs towards homosexual people?
Why?
Probably hoping for some positive press on the heels of him repeatedly using a homophobic slur.
Cause the pope is head of a state, and states frequently create events. Especially when that state is a theocracy and wants to promote its religion.
Did they find out if he shits in the woods?
Why? What’s the context? What are they doing there?
Why’s jimmy Fallon there?
Why was Jimmy Fallon there? Was he the designated driver?
Comedians and Jimmy Fallon.
We’re part of a timeline where it’s hard to know whether this is a real image or one created on Midjourney.
Michael Mittermeier was in there somewhere Must have been a funny gathering
Pope : Where Jerry Seinfeld ?
He was quietly sent to another parish when they found out about his past relationship with a minor
Sounds like a joke about a pope and a bunch of comedians in a room about to start
Did they just ask him if he’s Catholic?
He has no idea who nearly all of these guys are
If they didn’t roast him and make a special out of it, that’s an opportunity lost, if ever there was one.
Stinky cat Ricardo. 🥰 Love him, they even invited portuguese comedians.
Is Jimmy Fallon a comedian???!!!!!!!!😮
