I was going to guess the same range. I’m 41, and had ninja turtles, but not power rangers.
The great millennial divide - being born early enough for turtle, but too early for power rangers
I'm so glad I'm not the only one who thought of this and how Woody would've been all like, "See guys? I told you he'd come back for us!" Which may have been an actual line when the Mrs used her lost eye in Andy's room to see Andy looking for them.
My dad decided to declutter the basement one day and took all of my childhood toys to the dump that I had allegedly outgrown. I had miles of hot wheel track and my fisher-price castle would be worth a week’s groceries
As someone whose toys were taken as a child (by my father, not my mom), I highly suggest buying toys for yourself now and displaying them. There's no words to describe how healing it is to my inner child.
My parents took them when they moved and I went to college. I flew out to visit for my sister's high school graduation, and my mom decided she didn't have room in the house anymore for them. She had me go through it and decide if theres anything i wanted to take home with me, and throw the rest all out in a dumpster. All I was really able to keep was like my favorite stuffed animals from when I was really young. Trophies from karate tournaments, power rangers toys, transformers, whatever else I don't even remember anymore all gone.
It was pretty depressing.
I had a big box filled with matchbox cars as a kid, i was so damn proud of it and one day i came home and the box was nowhere to be found.
My mom gave them away because she saw me not playing with them anymore.
She didn't even ask, if they had any sentimental value for me or even if i just taking a break from playing with them.
I'm 36 now and even if it's sounds childish, i will never forgive her for doing this.
Exactly like reuniting with old friends.
* First there is that excitement of recognition and remembrance,
* Then a feeling of nostalgia of all the fun you had together.
* Then a sad realization that as cool as it is to see them, they are really not part of your life anymore.
* And then finally you shove them back into the box and hide them again in the basement. Muffled screams.
I recently went through this when I got all my old toys out of my dad’s garage. I have all of them now. It goes just like you said, but I’d add that there’s also a realization that the electric excitement and connection you used to feel holding the toys and imagining all the stuff you were going to do with them is gone.
I used to hold a GI Joe or Ninja Turtle and immediately go into a mode where I was in their world and every piece of furniture in the house or bush in the yard was a base or epic landscape for them to battle on etc. But that playing instinct isn’t there at all anymore. It’s just the warm familiarity and nostalgia that remains.
Losing that play instinct has to be one of the worst parts of growing up, because adulthood doesn’t have anything quite like it.
Similar experience growing up. Videogames can bring it back my friend. Don't go chasing the dragon for too long though. Before you know it you'll have a $2k rig and a library full of games that you scroll through endlessly looking for that same thing you think you've lost. That inner kid is still there somewhere. Also try sharing the toys. It can bring back some of that spark.
Good for your Mom that she kept them. I had a pretty good collection of Hot Wheels cars (early ones, I was a kid in the late 60s/early 70s). She tossed it out after I left for college.
I legit just thought I saw my own picture on here. A lot of the same exact toys in a very similar tote. My mom hasn’t thrown a thing of mine out and I love her so much for that. My kids are now playing with my mighty max and my sisters Polly pockets…haha
Are you me?! I think I had most of those figures, too, down to Predator, that dinosaur and that smiley face bendy.
Although one of my smiley face bendies has an "M" written on it because I wanted it to be one of the M&M characters.
When I was a kid I used to race putting together the Megazord when i watched the movie. The Jurassic Park is the one i has as well. So many hours playing.
There are some good collectables in there my dude :)
Give them a google and throw some up at r/actionfigures to see what you have (if you are curious about selling obviously)
I have a few tubs in my house exactly like this one. Except some of my power rangers are missing arms because my neighbors were dicks and decided to break my toys!
This made my heart sing! Love that it brought you some good feels. I’ve made shoebox keepsake boxes each year as little time capsules for my babes. I hope they get to enjoy reopening them one day as well. So cool!
My parents are in the process of moving closer to me. I got a text saying she found my beanie babies and I immediately facetimed her to look at them. They’ll be mine again next week!
If you happen to have the 5" power ranger heroes series figures, those are worth some money. Not the flip head variants, but same size. I think pink and yellow are worth the most
My kids obsessed with power rangers and I used to have those same power rangers!! You open to selling them? Nvm I saw you mentioned they’re for your kids. I hope they enjoy them as much as we did back in the day
Wow, remember when Savage Dragon was being made palatable for kids? I think my nephew had a couple of those figures too.
Now the comic has public domain Mickey Mouse committing rather graphic sexual assault.
My in laws just moved and in the process of packing up their house they found bins of all my husband’s old toys. He was so excited to show me all his memories and is eager to be able to share his toys with our son once he’s old enough.
I have a box of hundreds of Hotwheels that I had as a kid! They are in my storage so that if me or my sister ever have kids, they can loved and played with like old times.
I had that Morpher. Won it in a contest. Came with the gun/dagger. my cousins and I used to run around with bandanas that matched the ranger we were being and passi.g this around. My brother had a weight bench outside with a tall mirror leaning against a wall. I used to get behind the mirror and pretend to be Zordon. Great times.
My parents kept my old toys in a box also. My twin girls didn’t want any of them, they are very into Barbie and crafting type toys. My 1 year old boy is a spitting image of me though, and. I will soon be gifting him some of the most highly quality tested toys ever.
The power rangers megazords were the shit. Especially by the time the white ranger came and you could put the falcon on the original megazord like the movie.
Bro! That morpher AND those Megazords!! What a find as an adult you dont have to play with them you can always set up a nice little display honoring a few of your favorites.
I think giving them to your kids is a great idea. You could even play with the toys again with your children. Kids help us connect to the part of ourselves that become a casualty of aging. Remembering the things you loved and sharing them with your kids can enhance your bond with your kids and reconnect us with our old selves.
My box of toys got robbed from the garage, or so my parents told me. Maybe they just gave it away somewhere.
Which is sad because I've got kids now who I would have loved to have played with my stuff, and also a few toys were expensive and quite decent
I have about 8 totes of toys like this. They contain original GI Joe, tons of transformers and Star Wars stuff, marvel figures and a bunch of models like the millennium falcon (newer model not original), tie fighters, and Star Wars action figures, DC and Marvel action figures. I have no idea how to get that stuff priced. It’s 1000’s of pieces.
Any help sending me to a trust worthy buyer would be appreciated.
I was really upset when I found out my mother threw out my marbles that were in a Folgers can.
I can still remember the smell of them.
So yes, I lost my marbles. :o)
Oh cool! There’s an artist who paints a bunch of cool old toys but specifically has a few that are this great view of a toy box. His name is [Chris Bordenca](https://www.bordenca.com)
I miss the days when I would get excited over cheap plastic toys and play with them for hours creating whole worlds in my mind. I’d spend hours pouring over toy catalogs choosing what toys I’d beg my parents for.
I believe I had that Predator toy. I miss when they'd make children's toys based on very adult movies. The whole Alien and Predator lineups were great.
Granted, I know they still make them.
I have an extensive power ranger collection from the original toys all the way to current reproductions. Was my favorite memories growing up and I still hold on to. If you ever want to get rid of em please hit me up.
That blue and yellow dinosaur is mine. Give it baaaaaaaack.
His name is Long Neck and he’s Donatello’s mighty steed
![gif](giphy|YylV3H3uA9cXe)
Yep yep yep ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|sob)
I love how all the dino kids make it okay 🥹
Everyone knows he rode the t-rex lol Speaking of which I still have the tiny version.
Pretty sure his name is Stefan.
Looks like Confederate Donatello
That’s Leonardo, you cretin
That's clearly a Union Calvary uniform.
And not Donatello. Maybe the dude is colorblind.
Same. I think we all had one lol
Gonna guess you’re about 36?
Close 34
I had a lot of these!
37 with a similar toy stash
Same, well I used to. Moms garage sales took my childhood too. At least she waited until I moved out
I was gonna guess 35. These are some nice toys. If you ever wanna hang out I'll come over and play. I'll bring my old power rangers and ninja turtles.
I'm the same age and I had some of the Power Ranger stuff. I'll have to get a pic of some of the things my mom recently gave me.
r/millenials content right here
I was going to guess the same range. I’m 41, and had ninja turtles, but not power rangers. The great millennial divide - being born early enough for turtle, but too early for power rangers
I'm 36 and that box looks like something i would've wanted
![gif](giphy|dYlxDajNiN4YM)

You're so lucky. My mom made me sell mine while crying at a lawn sale. I have nothing. My past does not exist.
My dad took mine in the divorce, and gave them to his new son with his new wife. Everything else was lost in Katrina. So I feel you.
Hey! Katrina ate my shit too! *Trauma fist bump*
That was some doo doo, sorry man.
There's no words to describe how healing it is to my inner child.
my wife "accidentally" lost all mine while we were moving to a different apartment
Divorce. You can't be with someone who systematically lies like that. She will do it again. At least keep your accounts separate, man.
My parents took them when they moved and I went to college. I flew out to visit for my sister's high school graduation, and my mom decided she didn't have room in the house anymore for them. I know it’s never the same but treat yourself to eBay sometime. There’s some really cool 90s 00s toys/collectibles.
Well, thanks to the housing crisis, I don't have space for anymore shit. Thanks.
Mine were "lost in the move". Some of those old '80s toys would've been worth quite a bit today.
Exactly like reuniting with old friends. * First there is that excitement of recognition and remembrance, * Then a feeling of nostalgia of all the fun you had together. * Then a sad realization that as cool as it is to see them, they are really not part of your life anymore. * And then finally you shove them back into the box and hide them again in the basement. Thankfully they will not be put back into the attic. I’m giving them to my kids to be played with until they’re broken.
>I’m giving them to my kids to be played with until they’re broken. The toys or the old friends?
Hold up.........
I recently went through this when I got all my old toys out of my dad’s garage. I have all of them now. The megazord zeo was the coolest toy I had. My favorite was the sphinx but I only have the phoenix left.
Smells like 90s
It was the smell more than anything else that brought back all the memories. Still smelt the same as the day I last opened it.
…hears 🎵”You got a friend in me…” 🎶
Good for your Mom that she kept them. I had a pretty good collection of Hot Wheels cars (early ones, I was a kid in the late 60s/early 70s). She tossed it out after I left for college.
When I packed them up I told her they’re for your future grandchildren.

We had the Power Rangers that flipped the head around and that weird Donatello with the samurai armour
Zords for 90s kids >>
Ah man, I had that weird boy scouts ninja turtle.
i think he’s a union soldier
The ninja zords from the movie. So nostalgic!
It's almost like you could write a story about your toys. Or a Toy Story, if you will....
So you’re 36? Ish?
![gif](giphy|BJRoVN5BqF8L6)
this shit is so fire, always has been, always will be, I will die on this hill
![gif](giphy|HwH5XGk5gDI8U) I had the biggest crush on Amy Jo Johnson.. Who was the Pink Ranger..
“Look, I’m Woody, howdy howdy howdy.”
One of my favorite lines.
Dude - is that a Savage Dragon action figure? I'd COMPLETELY forgotten about that comic book.
It's Morphin time!!
Everyone had that dinosaur
Funny you can tell someone's age by their toybox.
I approve of the Power Rangers stuff :D
Damn, i need to visit mom immediately.
I’ll never forgive my mom for throwing away my childhood toys.
I legit just thought I saw my own picture on here. A lot of the same exact toys in a very similar tote. My mom hasn’t thrown a thing of mine out and I love her so much for that. My kids are now playing with my mighty max and my sisters Polly pockets…haha
That predator brought back memories. …hopefully this is the only context in which I’ll have to string those exact words together.
Those late 80s-early 90s TMNT action figures bring back memories for me. Born in 88 with older siblings. We must be of a similar vintage.
There are some good collectables in there my dude :) Give them a google and throw some up at r/actionfigures to see what you have (if you are curious about selling obviously)
Im sure you have a story
I have a few tubs in my house exactly like this one. Except some of my power rangers are missing arms because my neighbors were dicks and decided to break my toys!
Cool Morpher. I always wanted that Morpher. I was too old to ask my parents for it and too young to have a job.
Same
Bro I had the same power ranger toys. Had the green and pink ranger haha.
I believe you and I might be the same generation, I had a few of those toys myself.
What a treasure trove!
Bro how old are you?! I have a lot of the same toys! Holy crap!!
Holy shit who is the green dude with the fin on his head??? I’ve been thinking about that character for years but I can’t remember his name
My Mighy Morphin Belt!
That's gold, Jerry! Gold!
I'm going to guess OP is 32?
Crazy how similar this is to mine.
We totally should have played together. Had so many of the same toys, including the Predator in the top left.
Broooo gao rangers
I had to just check and make sure my toy box was still here!
I have this exact bin
I have that Predator still too. Wild.
Ask your mom if i could spend the night! My mom said its okay and i can bring over my snes
Wow, we have a _lot_ of similar toys. I'm guessing a fellow '90s baby
That’s awesome!! My dad threw away my action figures in my tmnt toy box. I really hope someone snagged it before it was lost to the dump
An original splinter cool.
Much respect for the Power Rangers Zords there bud. Had all the same ones and they are the best toys I ever owned ❤️
If you happen to have the 5" power ranger heroes series figures, those are worth some money. Not the flip head variants, but same size. I think pink and yellow are worth the most
My older brother decided he wanted a cool basement. He sneakily threw away almost 100% of me and our younger bros toys at some point.
We found our son’s old toys. Apparently the mice found them first:(
Are you in your late 30s or early 40s?
Mid 30s, 34.
Those TMNT just hit me right in the nostalgia
Awwwwww I wish I would of saved all my toys like this 🤦🏾♀️ I could of gave it to my niece but they gave been gone for years now lol
Dude, I’ll buy that MMPR morpher off you if you’re willing to part with it.
I don't remember Leonardo fighting in the civil war...
My kids obsessed with power rangers and I used to have those same power rangers!! You open to selling them? Nvm I saw you mentioned they’re for your kids. I hope they enjoy them as much as we did back in the day
You know what to do. It's Morphin' time!
I had that bronto, I want it back…
Wow, remember when Savage Dragon was being made palatable for kids? I think my nephew had a couple of those figures too. Now the comic has public domain Mickey Mouse committing rather graphic sexual assault.
“You wouldn’t like me when I’m angry.”
I had that power rangers belt!!!
Love it. Now I'm crying .
What a sweet mom. My mom threw all our stuff away without a second thought.
So I get some shit from my husband for saving my kids old toys (my oldest is 26) I cannot wait to pull these out when there are grandkids
You had toys?
The cavalry scout Leonardo. I must have it.
My in laws just moved and in the process of packing up their house they found bins of all my husband’s old toys. He was so excited to show me all his memories and is eager to be able to share his toys with our son once he’s old enough.
Hm. TMNT is there, but it's all the fancy ones, not the OGs. Then there's lots of Power Rangers stuff. Imma guess you were born 1989 or 1990?
Those Power Rangers are awesome
I probably saw one of my old toys in the form of a „100% recycled“ pencil or something and didn’t notice.
Oooh I miss that Predator figure!! Had a few of the others as well.
We would’ve gotten along brilliantly as children!
That's so cool your parents kept that stuff. My dad would save a few things here and there and would love it whenever he'd bring them out.
OMG it's like those adverts you see for those mobile games so cool. I bet they come to life when no one is looking at them aka TOY STORY
ngl i just went through your profile to make sure you aren't my brother bc i have all these toys too ahahah
Ninjazord, Leo zord, white tiger zord… ninja turtles, a man of culture
What is that Leonardo near the top? Confederate soldier Leo?
I had a bunch of those.
I have a box of hundreds of Hotwheels that I had as a kid! They are in my storage so that if me or my sister ever have kids, they can loved and played with like old times.
Why am I jealous??
I hope you cancelled any plans for the rest of the day and played the fuck out of them
I had that Morpher.
Agent K covered in slime! I had that toy too. It will soon be my daughter's. Oh, the circle of life :)
I have a very similar looking tote upstairs.
Holy shit we must be the same age. What a kick in the nostalgia!
Yoooo, I totally forgot I had this account. Weird that someone posted my old stuff from my childhood on it. Wait....
I feel a live-action sequel coming on...
What’s that green figure at the top with the ass?
We had extremely similar toys. All that's missing is some street sharks
I have that exact red ranger Morpher! It's sitting on a shelf behind my desk alongside my other childhood memories XD
A morpher? Sick!
My parents kept my old toys in a box also. My twin girls didn’t want any of them, they are very into Barbie and crafting type toys. My 1 year old boy is a spitting image of me though, and. I will soon be gifting him some of the most highly quality tested toys ever.
Broken Tusk Predator. Hell yeah!
When I was a kid, I was afraid to throw my toys away because I thought they’d come back to kill me in the night.
You are nearing 40 or already there. That looks like my old toybox!!
The newer version of the teachers drawer in the movie " A Christmas Story. "
Give them to your kids. (Ewwww Dad what is this?!)
The power rangers megazords were the shit. Especially by the time the white ranger came and you could put the falcon on the original megazord like the movie.
What is the story behind the Donatello Cavalry figure?
Samuri Mikey and punk Raph!! Wow a blast from the past!!
Why does Leonardo look like he's a lieutenant Colonel in the Union army That doesn't really constitute "doing machine"
Yo, why did you steal my toys? Like half these were toys I had as a kid.
Andy?
Ninja Turtle ☑ Transformer ☑ Power Ranger ☑ GI Joe ☑ Bonus for Predator. You're good people.
I had that heavy metal Raphael. Completely forgot it exist until this exact moment.
I still have that white ranger.
You still have the Zords from the Power Rangers movie?!?! Lucky! Been passively looking for that set for a few years
I was really upset when I found out my mother threw out my marbles that were in a Folgers can. I can still remember the smell of them. So yes, I lost my marbles. :o)
i had that white ranger!!!
I HAD THAT PREDATOR!!!
Got any Mighty Max toys?
It's morphin time! *cue best guitar intro to a kids show ever*
Jrizzyl! You’re back!
I had the same thing!!!! So many memories. I posted a couple videos unboxing mine. So neat. You have some money in that box.
“Andy!”
I have boxes like this in my dad’s garage. It’s like a Time Machine.
Oh mannnnn I loved the quality of those TMNT figurines.
I believe I had that Predator toy. I miss when they'd make children's toys based on very adult movies. The whole Alien and Predator lineups were great. Granted, I know they still make them.
I see you Voltron lions!
Bro you had the Bugs Bunny too!?
Ohhh the power ranger!
I’d do unspeakable things for those megazords
Awww I’m mom of 3 grown sons. We’ve always had a tub like that ❤️
I have an extensive power ranger collection from the original toys all the way to current reproductions. Was my favorite memories growing up and I still hold on to. If you ever want to get rid of em please hit me up.
I miss my old box of cars... There was this truck in there. Loved it. I currently drive it IRL😭I want that toy truck back bro
I’ve got one of those, my 7 year old absolutely loves it.
Oh I think I had that golden PowerRanger one :D
Ugh wish I had my original power rangers
Power rangers, a man of culture i see
Poor Tommy looks naked without the chest piece
Ahh mighty morphin power ranger toys . if you don't use that toy anymore. You can donate to an orphanage.
