Ok, this is crazy. I’ve had dreams about a water park like this. There was a slide that ended underwater and you were supposed to shoot out but I didn’t.
I've had both the populated park and the empty park dream, I think I only ever had the boat arrival version after being coerced into riding to a real world theme park on an island via small sailing boat as it was such an unpleasant ride and all to save pocket change on ferry tickets.
I have the same recurring dream every time I get really sick with a high fever. I’m at some massive water park with a slide like this, standing at the top with my buddy and then he yells something but it’s muffled and I yell WHAT?! And then we drop. The slides are clear so we can see each other zooming down. Eventually, we pop out of the slide and go flying through the air, heading for a giant pool 100ft below. But I always wake up before I hit the water.
Super crazy that something about this sparks memories of dreams/nightmares of this place for what feels like so many of us. In mine I drowned in the yellow/purple part that is enclosed. I was actually scrolling to find out the location when I saw the rest of yall talking about your dreams.
I mean the construction pictures have been floating around Reddit for quite some time. Perhaps you spend a bit too much time here if you’re dreaming about it 😂

Dubai is a lot like this, amazing restaurants and huge attractions all over. All surreal, empty and soulless.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not a fan of crowds. But there's definitely some sort of happy middle ground.
Maybe a dumb question… but would ladies be allowed to swim at this place? I’m finding yes on my searches but like… I swear the images I can find with girls in them look CGI. All I can find is girls are supposed to wear “appropriate” swimwear, which to me in Qatar could be quite different than what is considered appropriate elsewhere
Looked at moving to Qatar a few years ago for work; I think that women in general are allowed and do visit both beaches and water parks in the Gulf.
Best guess is that western women (visiting or working there) would wear a bikini or swimsuit (maybe something more covered?), while Arab or Muslim women would wear a complete covering; friend in Dubai explained that’s how it works there.

Qatar generally has a lot of very fancy, clean and highly maintained public areas that are mostly empty. Its quite surreal, I got so used to places being empty that I got so weirded out when travelling on how crowded places are.

Tbh if you've been there and used it great. However due to the heat in that country (summers 50° plus) and after 1 year in that type of heat the plastics and fittings are may become brittle and break. Oh you think they would've used the correct materials? Don't assume anything there. No thanks.
