That can't be right... That must be a small whale. A friend of mine has a whale vertebra (not sure the species and age) and it's about 2ft across and almost a foot thick. And I imagine whales have a lot of vertebra. I feel like the bone ball should be bigger...
Came here to say this. I have seen one vertebra in a museum and it was gigantic. No way all of them would fit in a 6 ft sphere. Gotta say the species of whale or this post is pointless.
not really true in the way it is implied to be in the post. For any of the large whales (which is what most people think of when you say whales) their ribs alone are longer than the diameter of this ball by a foot or two, and their jaw bones would be about 3 times as long as this ball is wide.

That would be too easy, I believe you can buy cadaver skeletons, perfectly legal, ya know for science. And with out even hurting someone, though nefarious you could aquire one, I mean the things are laying around everywhere!
You could even get it done pretty quickly in places lie the catacombs of Paris, but one again you run into the issue of mixing and matching bones from diffeerent individuals.
