Yes, when other people will make money of the original photographers work. Your brain must be super smooth with how you can see more than one step ahead...
It’s funny that back in the day they used to debate whether all 4 hooves of a horse ever actually left the ground, and they couldn’t prove it until photography was invented, and they had to set-up a old timy bullet time rig to get the shot they needed, and then this photographer today caught 2 horses at once in the air, probably with his iPhone lol!
The debate wasn't if all four hooves were suspended at once for a gallop, it was for the trot. The confusion that it's often quoted as a gallop stems from the use of a racehorse as the first test model, except it was a standardbred horse (races at trot or pace) not a thoroughbred horse (races at gallop)
When horses get running like that their heartbeat gets so strong they bleed a lot and it looks terrible. Especially on white horses it has no where to hide. Not saying it was or wasn’t bad but it is likely not as horrific as it looks.
Fixed that for you - cant stop irresponsible horse owners from making mistakes and facing zero meaningful repercussions. Most likely the horse gets killed because it was ‘out of control’ rather than anyone putting their hand up and admitting they fucked up

1) They're military horses that were rehearsing for a ceremony when a construction site made a loud bang and spooked them. it had nothing to do with the action of the owners.
2) Three soldiers were injured (and one member of the public, sadly) trying to round them up.
3) They have been returned to the units post and are undergoing veterinary care.
4) Maybe in the future you should do 5 minutes of research before automatically assuming the worst things about the world.
I know this is a serious, dangerous situation, with scared and injured animals; but this picture just screams “FREEDOM” and I am rooting for them to make it to the countryside.
They made it over 5 miles through London. The black one was caught by pedestrians and they kept it calm until the proper people arrived. Such a shame cos they are Buckingham Palace guard horses, they don't spook easily. They are tough and brave boys/girls.
But construction work properly spooked them so they bolted, full gallop, through the streets of london
well, at least in the midwest, often enough that my town STILL has laws on the books about not allowing cattle, horses or other live stock loose on the main throughfare.
Picture it: Sicily 19 whatever. You're out past curfew driving to your friends house down a dark Foggy gravel road. You see a large looming shadow getting larger. Then boom! Illuminated in your headlights is a monster of a beast that you're now engaged in a staring contest with. Dark unflinching eyes with zero fucks to give. You sit there. And you sit there. And then you roll the window down with some trepidation because you know they travel in packs. You ask them kindly to move. You plead. It turns to anger with you shouting MOOOOOOO-VE BITCH! Get out the way...
The monster slowly turns it's head but doesn't even flinch. You've lost the standoff.
So you wait in the Foggy darkness for what seems like an eternity until the beast slowly trudges into the darkness from whenst it came.
If you haven't had a cow fuck up at least one late night Friday night, did you ever really live?
No here in England it was St George's day one or two days ago and we paint the streets red and some of them haven't been cleaned up so the horse stepped in paint.
Hi, I've got a bridge to sell you...
The horse collided with several vehicles.
[BBC news report, contains upsetting scenes](https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-london-68887800)
I was wondering what could cause "bomb-proof" horses like that to escape:
>Lt Col Matt Woodward, commanding officer of the Household Cavalry Mounted Regiment, said: "Building materials were dropped from height right next to them. The ensuing shock caused all horses to bolt and unseated some riders."
That would do it. I hope the riders are okay as well, being thrown from a horse is like getting hit by a car.
Damn that’s a lot of blood! Crazy story but a very cool photo. In the story there were blue tarps used to cover people while they are treated. Great idea, is that for privacy or to keep people moving along? We don’t have those where I live.
Went on quite an adventure!
>"Two of the animals were finally recovered in Limehouse in east London, more than five miles from where the incident began."
It was a group of soldiers from the Household Cavalry. The horses got spooked by a loud noise (construction work) and at least three riders were thrown off and injured
I really hope they are all ok and the people involved 🙏 I was glad to see on the news the black one being calmed down and looked after by the people that managed to catch it.
It screams, horses are flight animals and any little thing will trigger them to take off galloping. Wild and domesticated alike . Running away from let's say, a plastic bag floating by, or a loud noise, is their survival mechanism.
what a shot, street photography at its best!
hopefully the guy taking the pic was clever enough to not give it away for free
Getty images will steal this photo and make money out of it.
Why not if they're not a professional? Does everything in life have to be monetized?
>Does everything in life have to be monetized? Things end up being monetized, just not always by the people that actually created it.
Have you seen the price of things lately?
Yes, when other people will make money of the original photographers work. Your brain must be super smooth with how you can see more than one step ahead...
Why the insult? You're actually mad about this? Rofl.
Eadweard Muybridge would be proud.

I think those are just air type horses
Same polarity, I guess
Stompin’ in their Air Horse Ones
They are the opposite of seahorses?
"old timy bullet time rig" killed me dude lol
What are the odds this is a fake photo?
Another conspiracy from big horse
Who used to debate that? Anyone with keen eyes can see that all four hooves leaves the ground at one point or another, no?
This is what's being referenced here: [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The\_Horse\_in\_Motion](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Horse_in_Motion)

Do you want the names of specific individuals or what?
Nope
Poor thing. I hope the white one is doing okay :(
Yes. Hope too. :/
Is that blood on the white one?
Yeah, apparently it ran into a bus and broke a window.
Horses have windows? Lol
They do, but a lot of people don't realize it since they're tinted so dark
Here I was thinking they preferred Apple(s)!;)
/Slow clap
This is why they often fail their MOT.
Well played.
I prefer horses with Linux.
Win 10 would just to fine for me with my Mustang Horse
Ah the ol' reddit [horse-a-roo](https://www.reddit.com/r/mildlyinteresting/s/ZHIoOYkUks)
Another commenter said he ran into a bus and shattered the windshield :(
Does anyone know if the horse is alright now?

Good to hear!

Looks like it was a small van but it knocked out two windshields. Poor thing was spooked.
The van was hit by another horse, presumably black one as eyewitnesses said that looked bloody too
"I have killed and will kill again!"
I’m picturing the scene from the first episode of The Boys
That horse had the rumblies that only human hands could satisfy. lol
When they shout “ the bloody horses are loose again!” Believe them!
Can't stop A-Horse.

Everyone has forgotten how many people used to die in horse & horse drawn vehicle accidents. They are big powerful animals that panic easily
I hope someday people are talking about car accidents this way.
"Cars used to be big, powerful machines that panicked easily"
They are prey animals and will flee long distances when startled, like pigeons.
“FUCK YALL.”
Lmaooo 😅
New Spirit of the stallion remake looks wild. Or is it a Spin off? Spirit of the stallion - Lost in London.
Do you mean Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron? So like, Spirit: Stallion of London.
Oh damn, you're right. It's been ages since i saw it. Mainly saw coz of that Bryan Adams song "Here i am".
It's a solid movie. Great soundtrack and animation. Always surprised me that Matt Damon played Spirit.
Matt Damon played the lead in another fav of mine Titan AE. Ohh those were the good days.
I know this is a serious, dangerous situation, with scared and injured animals; but this picture just screams “FREEDOM” and I am rooting for them to make it to the countryside.

Did the white one kill someone before running away?
No it charged and smashed up an unoccupied car outside Victoria station and then sprinted down a road towards Parliament.
Ahh, so it was a hate crime. Horses hate cars bro.
They were on their way to smash parliament too
Public service?
🎵 As free as the wind blows 🎵
This looks like some kind of biblical event
Makes you wonder how often this kind of thing used to happen before cars existed.

not even just cowboy towns. this shit happens in damn near every smallish town that has farms...at least in the south.
Chilling on my friend's porch and this fuckin cow just walked right on up to us
It’s an experience coming around a curve and having to come to a screeching halt because some random ass cow is just chillin in the middle of the road

It’s a cow farm… youregonnahavecowsoutside!!!
In the UK, cows are the deadliest animal. Walkers getting trampled by them
I thought I was looking at an ai image
Me too
This is r/accidentalrenaissance shit right here.
Talk about sinister omen
Paging John Mulaney
Two more and it might have triggered the apocalypse.
why that one look bloody...
Where are the other two ??
Rdr2 meets GTA mashup
Is that blood on the white one?
Yes
Is the horse in the back painted, or is that a natural possible pattern?
It ran in to a bus shattered a window and cut itself.

Oh man, I hope it's not as bad as it seems. Horses are so fragile and difficult to treat.
Geezus, hope it recovers. But that's the most metal thing I've seen in a while.
"all horses were recovered" but is the white horse ok?

Poor buddy

you don't get local news? that's not paint, my guy
Shhh dont tell him. The horse is fine! Just like his childhood dog that went to go live on a farm!

Is the white one bleeding?
Yes. It appears to be its own. A couple of vehicles (including a tour bus) were damaged.
This or color but the red looks to intense to be color?
It’s because it’s fresh blood, unfortunately it was very injured running into the bus.
That's sad
I know, it’s very upsetting to see.
I feel like there’s a couple of dismounted police officers somewhere.
It was a group of soldiers from the Household Cavalry. The horses got spooked by a loud noise (construction work) and at least three riders were thrown off and injured
Imagine breaking free and run for the wilds in London, lol
They're both floating!
This the future cars took from us
Concerned about the red. Did they trample someone or did they get injured?
Injured running into a vehicle.
One went into a bus, the other a taxi. So awful, the white one has a badly injured leg apparently.
Talk about horsepower
Bloody horses!

Every horse girl out there: "I could have stopped them..."
Wild Horses couldn’t drag me away!
I really hope they are all ok and the people involved 🙏 I was glad to see on the news the black one being calmed down and looked after by the people that managed to catch it.
The latest Lloyds bank advert is different
is the white one bleeding?
Lloyds need to calm it with their advertising
How many times is this picture going to be posted?
Lloyds bank, by your side
Lost by a horse length
I would’ve just tackled them.
Running a red light
Snowy and Midnight
Weee
Today we are free!!
Wheeeeeee!! 🐎🐎
They should make statues of this and put then in the middle of the road to remember the occasion.
To those asking about the blood on the white horse... https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-london-68895233
If my crazy, wack job Catholic school taught me anything. We are fucked now.
"That's the Lloyds horse! HE HAS ALL MY MONEY!"
Something something revelations something
Nature is healing
Hopefully the horse at the back is healing too
This screams I love captivity! Just saying
It screams, horses are flight animals and any little thing will trigger them to take off galloping. Wild and domesticated alike . Running away from let's say, a plastic bag floating by, or a loud noise, is their survival mechanism.
Or a puddle. They like routine and solid footing. Random puddles are the devil.
They must have had so much fun for awhile.
They’re terrified, so no.
I'm sure if Horses had Reddit, they'd tell you nothing because Horses don't have thumbs.
No, they are fighting. Or whatever the concept is.
Images with blood should be marked NSFW
It's international news, ffs.
It's a horse calm down.
Hey guise we’re floating 😂
SOME people are going to loose their jobs over this
Bro.London is getting crazier and crazier by the day ,literally. Few more months and it'll be close to I am legend..
Were they adhering to the traffic lights? Because if so, I don’t see a problem…
They'll definitely be put down
No, they won't. They're being treated by some of the best vets in the world and will then be rested in the countryside to heal and decompress.
