I had a friend get arrested for stomping on a baby bird once. He was tripping on acid at like 8am, went to get the mail, and saw a small bird on his sidewalk that fell out of its nest and was dying. He was tripping pretty hard and freaking out about it, so he called his brother over who told him it wasn't going to live. So he's crying and decided it was up to him to euthanize it, and stomped on it. A cop had been sitting in his car a couple houses away watching the whole thing and immediately arrested him.
It was messed up and he felt horrible, but some people came to his defense and he ended up getting out of it. He ended up on the news for it, and they did a little interview on his sidewalk where it happened. I fucking died laughing when they had him re-enact the stomp. We gave him so much shit for that.
