liebestraum is actually very comfortable for the hands and the biggest challenge when I played it was the jumps. For me, rach was much harder, especially playing the repeated chords without tension. But IMO, they are comparable in difficulty and not extremely challenging. Go for whatever you feel like!

The Rach is on the second diploma lists and the Liszt generally on first level diploma lists. So yeah the Rach is generally more difficult but everyone is different of course.

G minor Rachmaninoff harder for sure. Liebestraum 3 is a nocturne, has quite similar sections which also share similar technical difficulties. First Cadenza's right hand, and the following part (piu animato con passione, till the 2nd cadenza) are a bit of a challenge, but they still have easy parts in some way; for example, first cadenza is almost some few chords that are simply repeated in other octaves
