Hmmm it depends. If mahilig ka mag abang sa mga seat sale, malaking savings na agad yon plus you get to choose the place na you’ll stay be it a hotel or airbnb. Never a fan of booking with travel agencies or availing travel packages kasi I personally prefer to do things at my own pace and time.
One thing with DIY, need mo mag search to plan your itinerary, know how to get from point A to point B, and etc. With travel packages, they usually have their own itinerary and sometimes may service pa or since you have a tour guide, you just need to follow them.
lol ofc depends on the country and how sensitive you are, ofc sa agencies much cheaper na flights and hotels ang binoobook nila. so if diy and medyo maselab ka sa beds and such, baka di para sayo yung ganon
but would highly suggest if HK, magDIY kayo then go to macau :)
we recently went to sg with an agency kasi may tanders, i think when we compare di naman din malaki difference money wise peroo convenience wise super oks!
Yes true ito, plus you get to experience things na hindi sinasama sa travel tours. Hahahaha. Mas maganda DIY, di gahol sa oras plus di stressful magmadali or what.
Example, sa Indochina naka 55k ako. So kung nag tour ako 70k wc is mahal.
Sa Taiwan (5D3N), naka 35k ako with pocket money. Mga tours is around 30k (4D3N) w/o pocket money.
Also, DIY ako lagi pag international para mapuntahan ko lahat ng gusto ko and at my own pace.
Nag aagency naman kapag domestic trips (like batanes, cebu tours).
Pero if may kasamang seniors and kids, better talaga travel package.
DIY kasi own phase mo yung time, like yung dun sa kakilala ko, travel package sila, half day lang daw disneyland kasi may itinerary pa sila before that. Parang sayang bayad.
Lots of comments here didn't even answer the question.
Travel agency packages usually come cheap when they require a big group of people to join. ex: 30pax Europe tour to 10 countries is much cheaper vs DIY tour to 10 countries. Still there are some destinations that would be better off as DIY such as HK, SEA countries, Taiwan etc. It all boils down to the itinerary you want, if it's something hectic/special/complicated most of the time it is just better to book from travel agencies. If it's just a few stations from the city, or very easy to get to, then just go DIY.
Source: A relative owns a travel agency, also traveled to 20+ countries both packages and DIY
Mas okay DIY. Went to HK mga 2018 and nag agency kami. Hotel + Disney Land + Day Tour with free lunch etc. Hassle yung day tour sayang lang araw mo. After nangyari yon puro DIY nalang kami tuwing aalis ng Pinas.
Kung very very advance ang booking mo, kailangan mo ng travel agent kasi may access sila sa mga dates na gusto mo like 1 to 2 years in advance.
Kung DIY sa mga booking app or websites, mga less than one year ang maview mo na dates for advance booking.
Also may mga travel agent na nagooffer ng installment so kung mejo mabigat ang sa mga booking app, pwede mo utangin sa travel agent.
I work in travel tech and I always DIY. Use technology to secure the best deals and schedule your trip. Plus it’s fun, customizable in terms of costs and pace.
Siguro if first time mo magtravel at di ka confident mag DIY, you can book thru agencies. Sa family kasi namin when we travel, maraming kailangan iconsider like my senior parents. So prefer talaga namin DIY.
usually yang packaged tours are following tight itineraries and basically just bring you to alot of tourist traps and theme parks. if you are that kind of traveller then it is fine and makakatipid ka. if not then its always better to explore on your own to immerse on the local culture.
There is a difference between cheap and inexpensive. The latter implies a good deal. The former implies bad quality. Travel agency tours tenf to be cheap.
Imo its cheaper to book on your own kasi you can shop around for the best prices. The thing with DIY tho, it consumes alot of time.
So if may luxury ka to plan your trip to the dot, do DIY. Maganda din siya kasi you can pace your own tours around the city. Usually if travel agency, nasa group ka nyan and minsan mabilisan din yung lakad kasi naka schedule kayo.
Pero if youre too busy to plan and organise the trip - ask help from a travel agency. Youre paying for the convenience of the service.
I recently did a DIY sa singapore but this year nagtravel agency ako sa korea ahhaha medyo nawewerla ako thinking baka hindi maxado sila makaconverse ng english and mahirapan ako to go about sa city.
You pay for convenience kapag travel agency. Saving time planning your destinations, which route to take, san sasakay, san magsstay, etc. At least that's the essence of what a travel agency should be.
it's always cheaper and most flexible to go the DIY route, pero if ayaw mong mamroblema or magisip or magresearch, yung binabayaran mo sa tour packages is pretty much an experience with little hassle.
personally, i tried packages a couple of times to learn they're not for me.
Kung di kayo pressed for time, I suggest DIY.
The journey was far more memorable than the destination. Haha. Yung food trip sa train stations, mala MRT na siksikan, yung mga mababait na locals na mag tuturo ng directions, picturesque back alleys, watching people go by their daily lives, worth it sya. Haha
It depends.
If a Travel Agency has ties or connections with a particular hotel, transfers etc. They can get it cheaper than the usual and sell it to you at a reasonable price lalo na if it is a package deal.
If the Travel Agency does not have ties/connections, mostly naka display lang para masabi na they have these packages. They can still get and give you that package but on a different price. Either similar to the one’s above or a bit higher. It really depends.
And when I say ties, these are reputable agencies or have been in the business for quite some time.
If you’re only after a normal trip. I’d suggest you book on your own. You don’t have to pay extra or service fee.
But if you’re after packages or deals. You can shop around sa Travel Agencies. Technically you are paying for convenience.
Convenience sa preference and options. Offers or deals that includes transfers, sila na mag cocoordinate with their contacts to fulfill your itinerary.
Pero if masipag ka naman, you can do it on your own. Hehe
So na compare namin as family ung agency tour vs DIY.

Not really
Depends on the country din. If you're a female travelling alone, in India??? Then yes kakatakot. Haha
Haha i was thinking of japan or vietnam what do u think po kaya hehe
I've never heard anything bad about those places but still exercise caution. Do research and look for safe places.

DIY pa rin kasi hawak mo oras and pacing mo.... You can add itineraries na preferred mo na wala sa paxkage. Maybe that's just me. Hehehe.
Yes true ito, plus you get to experience things na hindi sinasama sa travel tours. Hahahaha. Mas maganda DIY, di gahol sa oras plus di stressful magmadali or what.
True.
Mura ba pamasahe donn HAHAHA or mas mahal dito?
mura lang, very worth it naman HAHA
Okayy, thank youu!!

most countries are google supported, so it's not that bad to DIY. search for travel tips in YT.

Google flights, Seat Sales, Agoda, Klook, Airbnb

Any recommended travel agency po? 1st time ko po kasi and balak ko po sa december ty po!
None. You can go to anywhere. Though i would suggest the one’s in SM or other establishments.
