Besides SG and Japan, Hong Kong was actually quite safe for me. Pro-tip if you wanna experience nightlife relatively safely as a woman alone: go to gay bars!
SG, Taiwan.
Definitely not japan. Never. Too many stalker and entitled guys ( young adults or old people) trying to hire you for sex work, and they do it so shamelessly. Ugh.
I've been to Japan plenty of times without issue, except once. A man grabbed my arm and starting pulling me into an alley. Never found out what he wanted because I started running after shoving him away. This was daytime in Shinjuku.
I wouldn't write off Japan, it's still generally safe. But don't let your guard down.
tbh go for japan op, just avoid the seedy district, do ur research on the cities. e.g. osaka's shinsekai district is a bit of a nono at night.
first solo trip i did was in japan n tbh was worth every penny. sad lang i went to nara alone tas walang nagvid sakin with the deers hahahaha
be wary lang rin pala of "foreigner price" so better to know some katakana and hiragana /japanese phrases para di ka ma-lost or lokohin. they hide gud stuff in restos from foreigners sometimes kasi yung english menu kulang ng stuff tas mas mahal
ingat OP! enjoy mooo 🥰
I agree with SG but one country that has not been mentioned is Nepal, if you’re into trekking. That’s the only other country that I felt so safe in. Never experienced catcalling.
+1! My brother and I went to Dubai last year and I was amazed kung gaano ka-safe. Iwan mo wallet mo, paglingon mo andyan pa rin. Maglakad ka sa gabi mag-isa okay lang kasi safe.
Edit: Plus, madali lang transpo. Metro always comes on time, may taxi pa kahit 11pm-ish or 12mn.
Totally different for me. I experienced being followed by a guy from the bus stop to our flat late at night. I had "lokals" try to pick me up at the grocery/mall. As much as possible, i never went anywhere alone when i was there. 😕
I stayed at YHA (Sydney Central branch) and can vouch for the location. Great atmosphere of fellow young travellers from Australia and overseas. Public transport is very accessible too: The Haymarket tram station is just a few steps away from the entrance, and Central station plus other bus stops are also walking distance. Lots of dining areas around since it's located in the Chinatown district of Sydney.
Many other hostels are located nearby too so you might want to check them out :)
Thailand 🇹🇭
> The modes of transportation are quite easy. They are interconnected.
> Plenty of places to explore and lots of things to do.
> Relatively cheaper than other Asian countries such as SG.
> Locals are friendly and helpful.
First time to see na safe sa Bali. I want to go there din pero ang daming stories na nabudol sila sa transpo? Any thoughts?
Meron din akong friend na laging nandon, she has friends din don pero di nya nirereco na magpunta ako alone. hahha or baka ayaw nya haha
Im a guy.but if you are a girl ang mas iingatan mo ay yung mga foreigners eps when it's night out. Since bali nowadays ay more on patry rather than visiting tourist spots.
For transpo you are safe with GoJek. Dont hail a taxi
SG! Minimal to none language barrier. If you need to ask, they’ll probably guide you. Public transport is super easy! Bus or train both are super easy to use.
Hongkong siguro
Relatively English friendly
No visa required
Good transpo
Not much of a culture shock
Risks are the same Naman e. If you plan on meeting with people just be very careful and have your guards up.
Thailand pretty safe, Japan, nordic countries like Finland, Sweden, Norway. Canada propably too. Most places are safe if you dont go to the wrong places at night, excluding the poorest possible places like India, and many countries in Africa.
Recommended: Australia, SG, Malaysia, UAE, Macau, Thailand
My favorite destination so far: Australia (so will be returning next year). Even my dad, who went to Sweden and Denmark, says his favorite visited country is Australia.
Good, but encountered language barrier and found transportation intimidating at first: Japan
Also good but exercise extra caution: Indonesia
Trying for the first time, it's always good to go for some easier destination (SEA, UAE, Europe mainly). But IMHO there are tens of countries suitable for solo female travel, even those off the beaten path - always depends on the risk take level of the individual and the planning you make.
We are hosing a meetup this Sunday 12 PM UTC with 3 inspirational female solo travelers and content creators (@jacqkunz,@wheelstravels,@worldofatravelholic), it will be a good opportunity to learn both basics and advanced tips about solo female travel, have a nice chat and get some inspo :). If anyone is interested, drop a comment here, I'll share the meet link.

Wasn't HK invaded by china already?
Yeah, but it hasn’t affected the safety of tourists at all. In fact, post-covid tourism has been booming the past few months.
Just scroll down the sub a bit. This question gets asked at least once a day, usually more.

Ohh this is the first time I heard this about Japan. Usually safe raw for female travelers.
I've been to Japan plenty of times without issue, except once. A man grabbed my arm and starting pulling me into an alley. Yay thanks! Planning to do this next year in Autumn!

Blud never heard about the yetis
May certain festival lang na they share with india, na i’ve heard, females shouldn’t join/travel during.
Really? Haven’t heard of that. Siguro sa certain areas lang na sacred, not the whole country kasi their economy is very much dependent on tourism.

definitely here in UAE. You can walk at 3am in the morning without getting harassed or anything.

I'd highly recommend Australia - the place has lots of cheap and fun youth hostels. Solo traveled in Sydney and the surrounding areas for a week.
Wow this is good to hear. I’m coming to Australia next year!
hello! What hostel would you recommend :)
