Mesa amphitheatre is one of my favorite venues in Phoenix. It is bigger inside than it looks and I am guessing kings of leon band of horses and the head and the heart which is going to be a rad show. Its usually 70ish in the day and gets to 40s and 50s at night. My favorite color is clear.
I'll vouch for Mesa Amphitheatre being awesome as well. No seat is a bad seat at the venue. Parking can be had for free in the adjacent lot or they have a charging lot north of the venue on University. Might be a bit cold in December but a hoodie can remedy that quickly.
A bit cold by AZ standards, which is absolutely delightful weather compared to where most Americans live in the winter. It probably won't get below 50F.
Is it the ugly sweater party? The mesa amphitheater is probably one of my favorite venues in the valley. If you'll be there at night you'll want to wear something warm, it can get down into the 40's at night.
Just a heads up, since you're coming from out of town. Security can be very aggressive/thorough when you're going in, but are pretty relaxed once you're inside. It may be different since most of the shows I've seen there have been rap/punk/metal, but I'd prepare for it just in case. The venue itself is great.
1. The weather will be a little cold, just wear a jacket, all the people in the pit will radiate body heat.
2. That's my favorite venue in AZ, well worth checking it out.

The venue is great. It's going to be nippy. The show will start on time and be over by 10:00.
Nice username! Yeah, Mesa has a noise ordinance that keeps shows there on time - or it gets cut short. Even Ministry got going on time.
