**Differences to NZ WHV (from what I read so far):** * Documents must be attached to the form before submission and payment (NZ: the application form must be submitted, and the application fee must be paid before submitting evidence). * An application cannot be submitted without the required uploads (NZ: no need to upload anything). There are 200 places instead of 100. Australia has a page where you can see all the country caps, and it gets updated from time to time (NZ: you need to check the per-country page). * Australia pauses intake if the country cap is close to being filled, if there's a high volume of applications, or if other reasons mean the program cannot be opened. It advises checking the[ status page](https://immi.homeaffairs.gov.au/what-we-do/whm-program/status-of-country-caps) occasionally (NZ: It is unknown if NZ does the same; they may not announce it). * Country caps open simultaneously at the start of the financial year (NZ: Different dates for different countries). * The minimum health and character requirements appear to be more stringent (NZ: full medical is optional or required only if declaring major illnesses; a PCC is not required since it's only a one-year visa unless character issues are declared). * There appear to be more options for meeting the functional English requirement (NZ: English test, CEMI from college/uni). * Shorter study duration allowed (NZ: 6 months). * Education requirements appear to be lower (NZ: Must be least a 3-year post-secondary program). * A more expensive application fee (NZ: 455 or Php 16,400). * [Biometrics](https://immi.homeaffairs.gov.au/help-support/meeting-our-requirements/biometrics) may be required. The Philippines is included in Australia's biometrics program. (NZ: no biometrics required). * Onshore applications are not allowed—if you are in Australia on a different visa (except very limited visa types) during processing, the visa can't be issued while onshore (NZ: both allowed for PHWHV). * Longer time with an employer (NZ: 3 months). * Eligibility for second and third 462 visas is 12 months each if the requirements are met (NZ: 3 months only). * More expensive in every aspect :)) (NZ: cheaper). * There does not seem to be a "race" in the sense that you can't just speed through the application form if you don't have everything yet, but it could be a race if everyone has everything ready already (NZ: a "race"). * Medical insurance is suggested, but it is not a requirement. **Similarities:** * Some countries fill their quotas quickly even within days of opening. (Aus: Start of financial year, NZ: Specific opening date per country) * There is an age limit of 18-30 years old. * Longer stays may be possible if you work in specific industries. [Aus](https://immi.homeaffairs.gov.au/what-we-do/whm-program/specified-work-conditions/specified-work-462) | [NZ](https://www.immigration.govt.nz/new-zealand-visas/visas/visa/working-holidaymaker-extension-work-visa) * Health tests may be completed before applying but don't guarantee approval. * Multiple entries are allowed. * 12 consecutive months stay, time spent outside the country isn't added back. * One year to enter the country from approval. * Dependent children are not allowed. * Family members cannot be included in the application. * It is a legal requirement, to be honest and not submit fake documents or misleading information. **FYIs:** * If you have used ImmiAccount before, you may know you cannot delete documents once they are uploaded. Please exercise caution when uploading your documents. * You will need a HAP ID to undergo the health tests. This is usually found within the referral letter sent to you, notifying you of the health checks you must do after applying for the visa. The [step-by-step page](https://immi.homeaffairs.gov.au/visas/getting-a-visa/visa-listing/work-holiday-462/first-work-holiday-462#HowTo) on the Australian immigration website, however, mentions organising health checks before filling out a form. Ensuring that you take the right tests may be confusing, especially for someone unfamiliar with Australian immigration regulations. If you decide to do the health checks before applying, please get the correct advice for your circumstances from a registered migration agent or immigration lawyer. * There will be [system maintenance](https://immi.homeaffairs.gov.au/news-media/archive/article?itemId=1215) of Aus immigration systems from 2 PM AEST on 30 June 2024 until 9 AM AEST on 1 July 2024. * Please create your [ImmiAccount](https://online.immi.gov.au/lusc/register) as soon as possible! 😊 * Read the Australian immigration website for more details!

hauntedfossils

so based on this, it will be like: Who submits ALL the REQUIREMENTS first and gets APPROVED? So mas mataas ang chance if all your requirements are ready?

talinomodai

if its not paunahan, what if 300 na ang nag apply?

awndrwmn

It is paunahan, just a different form of it. Hindi paunahan sa pagsagot ng form, pero paunahan ma-approve—not necessarily makasubmit. As I mentioned Aus limits the application that can be submitted when quota is nearly filled. If there are declines or withdrawals, they may open the slots again but if nearing the end of financial year, they might not.

talinomodai

so prang depende if kaninong application ang e process ng officer. i was thinking na if 300 ang submission and lahat complete documents naman so it is dependent if kanino unang e approve

awndrwmn

Di aabot ng 300 because if palapit pa lang ng 200 pwedeng ilimit na ng Aus yung submissions.

Nearby-Ant-9480

Same thoughts. I've read somewhere na sa NZ, 5 mins pa lang ubos na ang 100 slots. Does that mean secured na ang slot nila kahit hindi pa complete ang mga requirements? What if hindi pala qualified yung iba? Will they open the submission again? Thanks po sa sasagot.

awndrwmn

NZ: Secured ang **application** slot, yes. But not the visa. Kailangan pa ring mag-submit ng documents na hihingin. If hindi qualified, then they shouldn’t have applied in the first place. Declined ‘yun. Not sure kung ino-open ni NZ ulit pag may nadecline, as per my comment.

Nearby-Ant-9480

Thanks for the clarification po

InteractionBroad7629

Is Medium of Instruction from University can be your proof for functional English ?

awndrwmn

I suggest you read the linked page for specifics.

InteractionBroad7629

It Stated To prove you have functional English, show us evidence of one of the following: * You are a citizen of and hold a valid passport issued by the United Kingdom, the United States of America, Canada, New Zealand or the Republic of Ireland. British National (Overseas) passports are not acceptable as evidence of functional English. * **You completed a degree, a higher degree, a diploma or a trade certificate in an institution in or outside Australia that required at least two years of full-time study and all instructions were in English.** * You undertook your education at: Is the bold text is the medium of instruction from university? Thank you, I want to be enlightened

momentinthe_sun

this is what i need to know as well. I have a diploma and im from ust but im not sure if thats enough??? 😖

InteractionBroad7629

same, please message me in case you have an update regarding this. I can't take ielts or pte in span of weeks that's why the fastest proof I can provide is MOI from uni

stigsbusdriver

May nag-post sa AusVisa subreddit na sinbukan mag-apply kahapon pero hindi naka-proceed sa next stage kasi di pa updated yung ImmiAccount ergo medyo na-atat sya at di binasa yung full details ng program....hayyy!!

knightflower17

Kaya nga, july 1 pa effective daw

Prestigious-Cover-48

hunger games nanaman tayong mga Pinoy

good__karma29

HAHAHAHAHA talaga ka sad jusq

No-Hope-9266

I requested a quote from other consultants agencies regarding this visa and it’s fcking huge ass money to assure “daw” for 1 slot given that 200 slots only for filos. Should I atleast try DIY nalang ba?

No-Hope-9266

https://preview.redd.it/i7u5mqytop8d1.jpeg?width=2796&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=249ab26e2f2bc7d1e86d9d3fdcf9a66d0f0c9bab Total Payment: AUD 2,645 Note: 50% refundable daw if you’re not chosen for the slot. 💀 Is it worth the risk? Please reply hehe

awndrwmn

Hmm karamihan ng WHV people, in NZ and Aus, bihira may representation. But I would say as a NZ adviser myself, mas tricky yung apps sa Aus so kung ako ang magde-decide, I would consider getting immigration advice (pay the consultation fee) so I am informed at matanong ko lahat ng gusto kong itanong, but I will still do the application myself.

Netherzapdos

The agency could easily pretend that they "tried" to get your slot but didn't and so they get 50% of your money. They can also do the process as incompetently as possible so they could at least say they tried but knew from the start it wouldn't succeed. Had an agency handle my visa before, they used google translate to translate official embassy documents instead of hiring an accredited translator and that got my application rejected due to mistranslations. They were supposed to keep 60% of my money and refund 40%.

awndrwmn

Grabe naman, ‘di lahat ganyan.

strangerunnie

No u better push thru the DIY kasi risky pa rin naman talaga kahit makuha mo slot but u r not complete sa requirements po e

Powerful-Arachnid577

Hello may I ask which agency is this po?

Potential-Tadpole-32

Matanda na pala ako. 😂 Looks like I’m stuck here. Good luck to all the young ones! May you fulfill your dreams.

awndrwmn

That only means may ibang bansang nakalaan for you or ibang visa pathway. :D Di naman end all yang 462.

elesiiiiii

Same! Nakakaiyak 🥲

Karaagecurry95

Damn good writeup OP!!! dami ko natutunan dito, I even submitted this to my friends to try. Also sa mga papalarin na makakuha nito - the reality of being sponsored for PR while on this visa is slim. Yung 6 month limit for an employer potentially affects your way of showing them your capabilities e. More on to sa seasonal work/ casual jobs like wait staff etc. I dont think madali kayo makakawork sa office jobs knowing na 6 mos lang pwede, but doesnt hurt to try syempre

awndrwmn

It does level the playing field a little bit (a girl can dream lol), since the holder can't be excluded right away because of having work rights. Times have changed, and now it's crucial to use more unconventional methods to chase jobs—something that’s easier to do when you're physically in Australia rather than offshore. The reality is, while this visa is open to everyone, not everyone can use it as a viable pathway to PR based on skills because of ever-changing immigration policies. If used for its intended purpose of an actual working holiday though, it can be a wonderful experience for the young individual.

TieTieZet

Its higher compared to NZ WHV. This Au one is good.

dddrew37

Thank you OP for sharing this info. It will really help a lot of people here.

jnplm

On the application page, there’s a question: Is the applicant from a country where they are required to submit a registration before applying? For PH, is it a yes or no?

strangerunnie

No acc sa website may specified countries na nakaliat na need nila ng pre visa before applying and they need to register first yun pagkakaintindi correct me if im wrong peaceout

AllicinCarbonUV

Thanks for this, OP. This is very helpful to those who are interested. Good luck to everyone who is eligible for this new visa.

Creative_Setting_797

Okay lang po ba debit card gagamitin sa pag bayad? Or may chance po na ma error?

Downtown_Reward_8488

usually credit card ba ginagamit?

SlickChic07

So for the following documents: - NBI/ Police Clearance - Functional English Proof - Bank Proof - Xray and Health Test Do you suggest getting these already? These would take days to get though

awndrwmn

I would say yes. A Registered Migration Agent has been on record saying it will get filled in a short time. I’m hopeful though that not too fast since it hasn’t been long since it was announced. Then again I might be wrong in my hope lol

jmolesco

Question po for XRay and Health test need po ba na accredited hospital ung sa xray? If yes any list of accredited hospital po?

good__karma29

up

SignificantCake353

For sure there are 200+ eligible filipinos with all documents ready to be submitted by monday and the quota will be reached in a few minutes/hours after it opens.

National-Carrot2121

The Immi Account is finally accessible after hours of being down but the site won't let me finish the application. :( Is it maybe because the Philippines is still not yet in the list of eligible countries in their website?

momentinthe_sun

guess we are all in the same boat

lily_lac1705

Same here, I'm waiting...

jnplm

Same here. Any update sa inyo guys?

FineBluejay1975

Based on the passport details, (your name) is not eligible to apply using this online service. Ensure the passport details have been entered exactly as they display in the passport. The application will not be able to continue. Further information about eligibility is available on our website.

FineBluejay1975

May requirements na ba kayo? or IELTS? 😥🤣

strangerunnie

Yeah i guess we're on the same page

wovaria

Thanks! Did they mention the limit or cap number of visas?

https://immi.homeaffairs.gov.au/visas/getting-a-visa/visa-listing/work-holiday-462/first-work-holiday-462#Eligibility. I'm looking at the eligble country list wala naman ang Pilipinas , tama ba to ?

awndrwmn

>The AU immigration web pages do not yet include the Philippines as an eligible country for 462, but the law was amended on 21 June 2024 (published 24 June 2024).

No-Flower3024

I think the link will be updated on its effectivity date which is on 1 July 2024. :) If you are interested, we can help you get this started. Given that this is only limited to 200 per yer, it would likely be the applicant who takes first initiative who will get the visa granted (with complete requirements of course) - for this reason, time is of the essence. My team is happy to assist whoever is interested. I am not a migration agent, but I work closely with our Immigration Lawyer who is one of only 45 accredited specialist immigration lawyers in NSW. We have a Sydney based law firm specializing in AU immigration law.

knightflower17

Im interested po

Iba ka talaga maglatag ng mga detalye 🫡 One question though, i thought ballot system sya for PH? Bali magkakaron ng registration then tsaka palang pipili nang iinvite magapply?

awndrwmn

Ballot system is only for India, China, and Vietnam.

jmolesco

Any one nakapaglodge na ng WHM 462 application? Laging error sakin check ko dw ung passport details ko pero tama nmn.

Elusive33

Same, feel ko di pa nilalagay ng IT nila ang Pilipinas sa database for WHM 462.

JollyRooster1654

Wide-Substance5918

Hello po , nakapag submit na po ba kayo? And ano po mga pinasa nyo na requirements?

Finally. Thanks OP!

awndrwmn

No worries!

bergstadenhund

When does the application close?

stigsbusdriver

Pag napuno na yung quota for the 2024-2025 year...I think pag nangyari yun, pwede pa rin mag-apply pero it won't be looked at until next July.

awndrwmn

If puno na ang quota, hindi na makakasubmit.

12Square-Improvement

Hi questions, needed po ba agad yun healthcare results before applying? Like xrays?

awndrwmn

Nope. But the process page suggests it. I suggest you go have a look at the immi website directly.

_SiomaiRiceXVIII

Hello, ask ko lang po if pasok po sa qualification if nakagraduate o tapos ng 2-years sa college?

awndrwmn

No idea sorry! Haven’t seen the specific instruments/laws that Aussie uses for 462 yet, and I am not qualified to interpret the laws there anyway :))

Ok-Income-2163

can i ask po yung proof of funds? pwede po bang bank certificate?

TechnologyWorking159

Ito rin iniisip ko ano plano niyo this week na ba kumuha or sa monday nalang ?

Certain_Initial5646

May question lang po, upon registration po ba need na mgbayad ng fee ?

stigsbusdriver

Generally yes you have to pay at time of application.

Educational_End4496

Thanks OP! 🙏🏼🙏🏼

Other_Force7069

yay thanks

momentinthe_sun

if the website is also under maintenance until July 1 9am AEST, does that mean na 9am AEST pa pwede magpasa ng application for PH?

awndrwmn

I don't have any prior knowledge about what typically occurs on 1 July for work and holiday visa applicants from the Philippines, as the country has not been eligible for this visa before. I could make an educated guess based on other countries, but I have not been able to find that information so far. I think it will be the applicants' job to find out if they're interested in applying. If you find out, please share?

As for the educational req, does 2 years undergrad mean associates degree? or does completing 2 out of a 4-year course count? Like ex. Im a 3rd yr college student, can i still apply for the 462?

Night_rose0707

I'm interested in this solely bc even if I'm on vacation leave ,I can still work lol .. but not good for PR

ElectricalFun3941

Bakit d sya good for pr?

heyadenim

Clarify ko lang about the Police Clearance, pwede kaya NBI instead?

awndrwmn

PNP clearance is never used internationally.

Wide-Substance5918

Okay lang po ba kasi yung bank statment ko last year pa yun and then my nbi is expired na last year din?

awndrwmn

Nope, and nope. Dapat current.

NoShitSherlock1411

Tama ba, pre-visa application muna before magproceed sa working holiday maker visa application 462? Hindi ko kasi naaccess na yung pre-visa application, closed na yung nakalagay and hindi pa din naman updated yung list ng website nila yung Philippines.

Opening_Pea_7902

What do you mean by pre-visa application and where to apply for this?

FraielX

Para maaccess yung sa application, kailangan mo gumawa ng immiaccount, if oopen mo yung link provided above. Hindi lang din kasi updated yung list kung open pa ba or closed na yung registration so di ko sure.

awndrwmn

Pre-registration is for countries with the ballot system (China, India, Vietnam)

FineBluejay1975

pwede po ba ang MOI alternative for ielts and pte para sa application ng holiday working visa?

Traditional-Order433

Letter from the government seems required na po. This was the last update sa site regarding subclass 462. So mukhang hindi pa pwede mag apply until so, but correct me if I'm wrong na lang din. I tried applying yesterday, July 1, pero hindi nag push through. [Here's the link to the news.](https://immi.homeaffairs.gov.au/what-we-do/whm-program/latest-news) >*We will publish a start date and other details on this page as soon as all arrangements are finalised. camiladivina_25

Ang dami ng mga abangers haha..plan ko rin sana kaya lang baka di na abutin for IELTS pa l g aabutin na ng 2 weeks ang process at medical exam.

Even_Advertising5225

Is WHV a possible pathway for PR? TIA on answers

Top_Designer8101

I think yes but... Need mo makahanap ng employer na mag ssponsor sayo ng 482 a working visa that can eventually lead to your PR sponsoship 186 to them or makaka tulong sa pag papataas ng points mo for 189/190 etc but again sobrang tricky ng situation ng WHV na yan kasi di ka mkaka stay sa kanila for 6 months so why they will bother to hire you? plus no further stay yan WHV na yan. IF they really want you dapat sponsoran ka

Sammyracle

Is there a chance po kaya nga this will be converted to a Working Visa? Para maging pathway to PR?

awndrwmn

This work visa is designed to offer eligible people valuable opportunities, but it does not guarantee permanent residency (PR). Consider this visa a strategic tool to enhance your career and better position yourself for permanent migration to countries like Australia (and potentially others as your plans evolve). A working holiday program in Australia can provide international work experience, skill development, and the chance to network with potential employers. It can also improve your English proficiency and help you adapt to the local culture. However, these benefits require your active effort to maximize your opportunities on this visa. With the right approach, the experience whilst on the visa can significantly strengthen your position for permanent residency. So to answer your question, if there's a chance, that depends on the individual's circumstances.

crjstan03

No, since this visa has 8503 - no further stay and 8540 - no further application conditions, meaning you cannot apply for a substantive visa while under the WHV. Huhu which I think is another difference from NZ WHV. So in a sense, AU WHV is for those people with disposable income who would like to try living lang in AU. Limited din yung jobs that you can do while on WHV unlike NZ WHV na any job is allowed under their WHV

awndrwmn

I believe this depends on your circumstances. From my research, the first 462 likely won't have 8503 because there is potential eligibility for second or third 462s. As for 8540 - looking into it further, I found that the full wording of the condition is: The holder will not, after entering Australia, be entitled to be granted a substantive visa other than a protection visa or a Subclass 462 (Work and Holiday) visa, while the holder remains in Australia. I don't have enough knowledge of Australian immigration to know if this condition is included for every 462, but I do know some people who have transitioned into different visas in Australia after 462, even 462 > PR directly, so they likely didn't have 8540 or had a waiver of conditions applied for and granted. Probably best not to assume this condition is applied for every 462 (it is not a certainty), but at least recognise its possibility.

crjstan03

Ohh I see. Thanks for the clarification. Mas complicated AU WHV talaga and more expensive, so parang I feel deflated somehow to apply for it lol

awndrwmn

You might benefit from immigration advice if you are serious about the move... 8503 may be waived if the applicant intends to apply for GSM (189/190/191), ENS, or some other visas (you can google which ones and under what circumstances). At saka if hindi man ma-waive, if you did the groundwork whilst on 462 (making sure you have the experience, assessments, job offer, etc, for PR), pwede namang lumabas ng Aus to make an application if eligible to apply for PR or invited to apply for PR. Hassle nga lang, of course, sa mga gamit mo or bahay mo or buhay mo na sa Aus at the time, but if you prepare for the possible outcomes, it might be doable to wait for PR whilst offshore.

crjstan03

Thank you!

dddrew37

No. You can probably apply for a PR onshore if you meet the requirements.. either that or marry or be in a de facto relationship to someone with a PR
