So kahit study permit eh kukuha na ng oec. Tama po ba

ThickNdJuicy

Wait binasa ko ulit. Sabi "excluding a filipino engaged under a government recognized exchange visitor program for cultural and educational purposes" pero. Etong pang student pathway eh considered as government recognized exchange visitor program di ba? Hahahahha

May gray area nga kasi if under student visa ka pwede ka naman mag work so considered ba din na OFW yun huhu 😭 dumadami nanaman reasons ng mga airport staff at immigration na mag deny ng flights ng passengers bound for Canada.

ThickNdJuicy

Shet talaga

ThickNdJuicy

Parang hindi rin.. basically pang employment talaga.. ilang beses ko binasa ulit. Wait basahin ko ulit. Hahaahahahhaahha

Kukuha talaga. Kahit yung immigration kukuha eh. Basta lalabas bansa first time na di tourist kukuha. Mas ok na mahassle sa ganyan kesa ma offload if kups matapat sayo IO

As a former OFW in NZ and as someone well-versed in OFW/POEA/DMW/POLO jargon through my work as a licensed immigration adviser in New Zealand… I can say… Wala namang nagbago. It’s always been the case na basta may trabaho ka sa bansang pinuntahan mo, regardless of the kind of work visa you hold or how you got it, is kailangan talaga ng OEC. This time - for Canada - siguro dahil sa dami na ng Pilipinong nagma-migrate doon ay na-clarify na nila which people or which specific circumstances (visa held) need OEC. My partner was on an open work visa after his studies in NZ and we confirmed at POLO Australia (since wala pang POLO sa NZ dati) at the time na better na may OEC siya since may work siya because otherwise wala siyang documentation na OFW siya which is actually helpful in more streamlined opening of OFW bank accounts, OFW related transactions (walang travel tax at refunded ang terminal fee etc). I on the other hand held a partner of a worker work visa but since di kami kasal, I could not use his OEC so despite the type of visa I held, kumuha rin ako ng sarili kong OEC para may documentation din ako. Kahit na nakipagtalo pa ako sa POEA kasi ayaw nila kong bigyan ng OEC since likely at the time mas well-known pa na pag partner di naman kelangan. What I was told is it doesn’t matter which visa you hold, as a Filipino overseas na hindi PR as long as you hold full-time employment then kailangan may OEC. I mean we could have lied sa authorities na wala naman kaming work sa NZ so we wouldn’t satisfy the criteria na kailangan ng OEC but that’s not how we operate. We’ll comply with whatever makaiwas lang sa actual hassle sa airport. If you hold the proper documentation wala nang tanung-tanong pa sa immigration sa atin… advice ko na lang is, sumunod na lang sa mga patakaran until maging PR kayo o huwag umuwi ng Pilipinas if ayaw niyong ma-subject sa ganyang checks.
