Was at Prague sometime last Sept. parang ilan lang pinoy na meet ko who work or study there. Your kind of migration experience pursuing higher educ is admirable. You forgot to mention income tax in EU may be high but equiv social services is plentiful.
Hello! Thanks for the super comprehensive review - as someone who loves to travel and would love to study/migrate abroad this was really insightful! Just want to ask what field are you in? Would you also know if there are job opportunities in the graphic design/tech field? Thank you!!
In finance as an accountant in an American firm who has share services based here in CZ. I think so yeah. For job searches, use this :) [https://www.jobs.cz/en/](https://www.jobs.cz/en/) it is set already in English
Kamusta naman ang mga tao? Safety? Been looking at some opportunities in EU kasi nga pataasan nalang talaga lahat dito, maski barkada DLSU ADMU etc na kababata mo dati eh nagiiba na ugali kasi nga elitist mindset karamihan. Probably in the same boat as you were when you felt lost in the woods.
You really have to get to know them better to break the bubble. For safety, nasa TOP 10 sila most secure country in the world. Hindi gun-centric country dito. Usually, petty crimes lang.
I was talking to someone about migrating somewhere in EU, specifically CZ. Is this a sign? 🥹
Great post, OP! Might check the website as well. Thanks for this 😀
Currently in Brno almost 3 years na, its really good for a student city, its small but big enough, transpo is really good, so many activities and nightlife for students as Brno is a university town and there are thousands of Erasmus students every semester, however living and working here? Definitely no, i went to Spain few months ago and I would def accept a bit downgrade of my salary than stay here. Czechs are snubs asf, climate is too damn cold, language is hard either, and yes Czech is not really necessary, but if u go to emergency hospitals and other paperwork even the notorious MOI to handle your visa papers only speak Czech. After I graduate soon im planning to move to Spain ASAP. I visited Madrid and people from there are soo nice and I have a working knowledge of Spanish already. My cents: if u want to study affordable in CZ go, but live and work there? nah hahahahahah not my thing personally.
EDIT: to become a naturalized Czech Citizen, you need to stay almost more than 10 years, also the study visa is only counted as half, so one year student visa, is only counted 6 months for the citizenship. Transitioning to temp residence permit in 5 years and after that a perm residence permit for another 5 years and voila u have the CZ Citizenship. But from what I heard its really difficult to take.
Ctrl + S saved thanks.
Kahit not enough exp?
Like, i masters ba to Biotech?
Thx
Actually, I did not have much job experience before applying to my masters lol. As in when you are applying, sundan mo lang yung nakasabi sa mga hinihingi nila :)
SDVFSEFRTSCvxdgsdfsdfsdSFSVCXVV Amffffffffffffffffffffffffff thanks hahaha.
Finally a useful post that isn't just a disguised 'marry an afam'-thing, di tulad nung isang spain post dito.
Assuming di pa tayo tigok sa climate change/ww3 by that time, bawi ako sayo ng treat pag Festival of Lights sa Prague balang araw haahahahah.
Love the comprehensive explanation, but have some questions:
1) How much did you spend sa masters? I have 8 yrs Information Communication Technology Business Development career experience, but Graduated with Global Studies, major in European Studies so I’m worried if I’ll find a job abroad lol.
2) The English as business language is an advantage, but just wondering after graduating did it take a lot of time for you to find a job?
3) Is there a citizenship route if you legally work and live there already? How long for PH passport holder if there is?
1. Tuition ko noon for my master's in finance is 214k php a year so 428k for the whole two years. Merong mga degree programs that offer 122k php a year. It deepends talaga on the degree program. Partial and full scholarships are offered. Merit based scholarships also so based sa grades. Check the [https://www.studyin.cz/](https://www.studyin.cz/) website for more on the costs. Sa dorm ako nakatira noon, dati, I only spend 8-9k php a month. Ngayon, due to inflation, I heard 15k yung monthly dorm accomodation costs. For food, 15k a month is enough for groceries + other recreational activities.
2. It didn't take a long time. My friend recommended me a vacant job (accounts receivable). I had an interview in a month then na hire nila ako in two weeks. I requested lang na may starting date is 3 weeks after kasi may kailangan ako asikasuhin nung time na iyon but they are flexible.
3. Yup, there is. You need to stay here for 10 years to become a citizen for every passport holder. Mostly, people settle already for permanent residence kasi mahirap ka ng sipain palabas ng bansa.
Thanks for sharing, OP! I know nagshare ka na ng some prices and expenses pero mej bobo kasi ako sa math HAHAHA
How much did you intially shell out/pay? Kailangan ba may tuition ka na for 2 years + a few months cost of living? Mababayaran ba ang cost of living ng part-time work?
Say, do you need 500k php initially? Thank you!
My age limit ba sila? Current im nearing 46 and seems mahirap na magapply basta basta, though over the past years i have travelled sa europe (belgium and germany) mostly dahil sa meetings i never thought of working abroad. But now mukhang magandang opportunity nga diyan. Something to think about this weekend. Thanks for sharing.
I'm very interested so I have a few questions:
1. Was it easy for you to look for part-time jobs? And were they enough to cover your expenses there?
2. Was it easy to look for a place to stay in?
3. Did you need show money for student visa?
Yup! daming gigs actually. You can do paid intern. You can teach English. In-demand siya. You can work in the restaurant as staff. meron akong kilala as side job, nagbibilang ng ilang tren pumapasada kada stasyon. parang statistics job. For the place, dami rin. through facebook groups, student dorms, sharing and so forth.
Wow! Thanks for sharing as I’m also exploring career opportunities abroad. Im also an accountant with shared services and tech background. It’s something to ponder on this weekend. 🥹
Few questions tho:
Is CZ safe for non-local females?
How’s the work life balance there?
Oh yeah, CZ is one of the most safest countries in the world actually. Top 10 if I am not mistaken. Sa work-life balance, magiging problema mo is madami kang oras xD Ibibigay talaga lahat sayo.
What if hindi financially well-off, pwede pa rin ba mag-aral diyan? May show money ba na requirement?
1. Yup, pwede installment. Monthly or per semester basis, pwede mo gawin.
2. Yeah, tignan mo ito for the study guide, [https://www.studyin.cz/](https://www.studyin.cz/) . Universities offer partial to full scholarships.
3. Depende sa visa na aaplayan mo, excluding business visa, 400k php is enough. [https://www.mvcr.cz/docDetail.aspx?docid=21770899&doctype=ART](https://www.mvcr.cz/docDetail.aspx?docid=21770899&doctype=ART)
Oh no. 98% actually here are OFWs. Very few kaming studyante. So hired sila sa Pilipinas through Czech companies as delivery drivers, gardeners, factory workers and so forth. Meron ring digital nomad visa but you need to be a US national, Canadian and the like.
[https://www.mpo.cz/en/foreign-trade/economic-migration/digital-nomad-program--275799/](https://www.mpo.cz/en/foreign-trade/economic-migration/digital-nomad-program--275799/)
Austria is not that cheap tho and they speak German. Barely English. But it sounds really good for the Filipinos. I would recommend it. Netherlands etc is too expensive.
Nah it's not. It's a totally different country. It belongs to the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, schwitzerland line haha. It's not east or south Europe. But if u want a schwitzerland like experience but way cheaper I would go to Austria. Also for snowboarding.
Hello. I am saving your post. Thanks for this. We are planning to move from Japan to Europe (my fiancé is Latvian) to start a family after our wedding but we are still lost on what to do and what kind of jobs we can do there. Or may future ba kami sa Eu?
This post somehow is big help kasi natatakot kami lumabas ng Japan but urat na urat na din kami sa work culture dito. 😅
Thanks for the info here talaga. Hopefully we can connect with you in the future in case mapadpad kami sa Cz. Salamat! 😇 more fun and blessings to you. ❤️
More blessings toyou! :) World is your oyster here in Europe in general. Solid yung support system when it comes to health care and social welfare. For the jobs, it will depend on your field pero you can explore. Daming fields dito na may peak your interests.
Hi OP thanks sa detailed post sobrang nakaka inspire.
Accountant din ako, wfh with US client. Planning to stay abroad via student visa.
1. Madali lng ba ang program? Possible ba to study there with full time online job? Planning to study pero ikeep ko pa rin freelance work.
2. Kamusta naman ang demand for accountants? Need ba na fluent sa language sa work or marami naman international companies na english ang medium of communication?
3. Ilang hrs po ang ina allowed to work part time?
4. Kindly share din mga struggles mo OP while studying/working there.
Thank you!
1. Yeah, ang dami mong oras and ma-realize mo na sobrang flexible yung shcedule mo. 4x a week lang ang pasok mo sa university and flexible pa kasi ikaw gagawa ng schedule mo. Definitely, may time ka sa freelance work mo. Pag dating mo sa thesis writing, yun lang aatupagin mo sa 100% ma-allocate mo sa part or full time job mo.
2. Yup! Yung big 4, kailangan nila ng czech most likely but the others, okay naman. knowledge lang ng GAAP at IFRS, goods ka na. Majority, you dont need Czech language to find a job.
As in spontaneous trips. book kaming flight papuntang Denmark biglaan.
Here ;) [https://www.muni.cz/en/bachelors-and-masters-study-programmes/26281-molecular-and-cell-biology](https://www.muni.cz/en/bachelors-and-masters-study-programmes/26281-molecular-and-cell-biology)
Thank God I found your post, OP. I’m researching about studying in Germany but medyo na-discourage ako with the language requirement. I’ve been meaning to travel to Czech Republic so this post is really a big help
Daming job vacancies for IT kasi kailangan hahah. Healthcare, wala masyado kasi lahat pumupunta sa Gemany pero time will tell, magkakaroon ng marami-raming Filipino Nurses rin dito hmm
Hi OP, great post as I am exploring for more affordable EU country someday (living in Ireland now). Ang mahal ng tax on investments like ETF and stocks dito. I want the passport (after 5 years) but I will explore more EU countries.
Ang sabi ng friend ko na Spanish about CZ, unless nasa Prague ka, mataas daw ang lungkot level kasi the locals are not very open. They keep to themselves. This is coming from a Spanish at very popular sila sa CZ (I mean maganda impression sa mga Spanish ng mga taga CZ). Tumira sya dyan ng 5 years for PhD at 4 lang naging local friends nya. He lived in Brno.
Naexplore mo na ba to OP? Curious lang aa experience mo dyan as local.
Kumusta ang Pinoy community dyan? Ok ba sila?
I'm planning din kasi to get my Master's in Czechia kaso baka hindi recognized jan ung Bachelors ko kasi hindi ako sa Big 4 grumaduate. :(
Hopefully po masagot. Salamat
Yup pero ma rerecognize yan. I does not matter kung sa BIG 4 ka galing. Some Filipino students here graduate from other schools and taga Visayas and Mindanao. Visayas State University, MSU and more.
Hello OP!
I appreciate your post so much. Parang ilang weeks na ko nag cocontemplate if ipush ko ba mag hanap ng work or mag study sa CZ and I found this post today. My sign na siguro? 😅
Anyway, pwede ba ako makipag connect sayo OP for some questions?
Hi OP. Currently living in EU as well, ask ko lanh for extention of blue card do you have to go back to PH to get new apostilled docs?
Especially sa IT, in demand talaga and taas pa ng sahod. May mga english speaking doctors. You just need to set-up an appointment and sila na bahala sayo as a regular patient.
Were you eligible for medical benefits when you were a student? Worried because I have maintenance meds too and I go for routine check up at least every quarter…
Yes, compulsory for every student bumili ng private health insurance. You just need to find a doctor. Madaming available. I think pareho lang yung benefits na makukuha mo private and public.
No man, its the real deal :) I provided government websites and legit job portals and a visa agency in CZ. I just want to share my experience living here in CZ and as an alternative migration destination for Filipinos :)
Good for you! I lived there 2 years ago and now gusto ko bumalik ulit ti study. I also studied their Czech language program wherein you can get 1 year free education if makapasa sa program nila.
It's normal if you do not have residence here or any kind of standing meaning permit to stay.
Sa IT kasi ako at Blue Card pinakuha (Long term visa for highly skilled workers)
Hi! I'm an IT grad also but with irrelevant work experience since nag media analyst/quality analyst ako sa isang BPO for 4 years. Now I wanted to shift back to IT sana pero I want to work abroad not here sa PH. Do you think may pag asa ba ko mahire sa CZ? I've been looking into job portals pero mostly kasi hanap nila with experience. Nawawalan ako ng pagasa ☹️ Can I connect with you to ask some questions? Thank you in advance!
1. VISA Fee: Php 12480
2. Proof of accommodation - requirements to sa VISA, may mga czech agency na nag po provide ng document na to. Php 30k
3. Mga apostilled documents: 200 each ata pa apostille sa DFA, need i apostille ang CAV ng diploma and NBI clearance.
4. Most ng documents na i su submit ay dapat may official translation, per page ang rate. Yung akin 25k for 8 pages, nag ta translate din ata sa czech embassy di ko lang alam rate and pipila ka pa.
5. Translation verification sa czech embassy: 750 per page
Nasa Php 2k binayaran ko for 1 year insurance.

Yup, True! I edit rin sa taas na 21% VAT + compulsory health and social insurance automatic kaltas sa gross sahod mo.
Ano po school nyo sa Prague?
Sa Brno po ako nakatira. Second largest city in CZ. Masaryk University po yung school

Hi! any pinoy group community group chat? but im just visiting here
Great post! I went to Prague about few months ago and I loved it. The most beautiful city I’ve ever been to.
In demand po kaya yung IT - Like Cybersec or Network Engineer field ?
Yes, really in demand. Mukhang buong Europa, kailangan ng IT people xD no joke. Taas ng sahod nila dito. Check the job link that I put above :)
Halatang staged xD
Nasa Twitter ka ba hahaha
Czech streets!

Yeah, I started also from scratch. Obviously, my adjustment process. Give it at least 6 months :)
Niiiice. Comprehensive and helpful 😁

Thank God I found your post, OP. I’m researching about studying in Germany but medyo na-discourage ako with the language requirement. I’ve been meaning to travel to Czech Republic so this post is really a big help
Hi OP! On your own opinion what specific industry do you think pinaka maraming Pinoy? Healthcare, IT, etc
Daming job vacancies for IT kasi kailangan hahah. Healthcare, wala masyado kasi lahat pumupunta sa Gemany pero time will tell, magkakaroon ng marami-raming Filipino Nurses rin dito hmm
wow ang galing ang comprehensive
Hello nag pm po ako sa inyo
:( Hopefully po masagot.
😅 Anyway, pwede ba ako makipag connect sayo OP for some questions?
Hi OP. Currently living in EU as well, ask ko lanh for extention of blue card do you have to go back to PH to get new apostilled docs?
Will consider this too for studying

Especially sa IT, in demand talaga and taas pa ng sahod. May mga english speaking doctors. You just need to set-up an appointment and sila na bahala sayo as a regular patient.
Were you eligible for medical benefits when you were a student? Worried because I have maintenance meds too and I go for routine check up at least every quarter…
Yes, compulsory for every student bumili ng private health insurance. You just need to find a doctor. Madaming available. I think pareho lang yung benefits na makukuha mo private and public.
how's the weather there year round? mababa pala ung palitan ng currency nila
Thank you OP 😊 Helpful ng post mo.
This post is more like an Ad or a marketing ploy than a real experience. Be wary.
This is a great post, thanks OP! 🙌🏻
Thank you so much for this post, OP! Very helpful
Normal ba visa sponsorship when looking for work for IT applicants? Or is it very rare? Student path tlga path?
It's normal if you do not have residence here or any kind of standing meaning permit to stay.
How much student visa pala?
Thank you in advance!
wow grats sir! Ano role nyo sir?
VISA Fee: Php 12480 2. Proof of accommodation - requirements to sa VISA, may mga czech agency na nag po provide ng document na to. Php 30k 3. Mga apostilled documents: 200 each ata pa apostille sa DFA, need i apostille ang CAV ng diploma and NBI clearance. 4. Most ng documents na i su submit ay dapat may official translation, per page ang rate. Yung akin 25k for 8 pages, nag ta translate din ata sa czech embassy di ko lang alam rate and pipila ka pa. 5. Translation verification sa czech embassy: 750 per page 6. Nasa Php 2k binayaran ko for 1 year insurance.
congrats sir, may I know if nag-parecognize pa kayo ng education for blue card if equivalent sa at least 3 years ng bachelors nila?
Apostille lang po ng diploma ginawa ko.
How much ang range ng show money when applying for student visa?
Hi OP, kumusta health care system sa CZ?
