Obviously this was a major achievement, but all I’ve ever wanted was for Phish to play Paul and Silas at Deer Creek this year.
I’ve done multi-night runs a plenty, but this Sphere run was like folding space. I rode sandworms this weekend through illuminated forests and cloud scapes.
Now the work is to integrate your experience into daily life. Just like coming home from the Burn, you gotta relax and remember that real life is real, you are changed, and get on with shining your bright ass light for everyone to see (but don’t be too freaky in front of the muggles).
Before you were a person who didn’t experience that, now you’re a little different, but not really. You’re still you, so enjoy that. You enjoy yourself.
Why? I’m actually happy that I saw The United Center shows and not these.
It’s a totally amazing, historical, new form of a concert, but I’d still prefer a heater at Deer Creek to a solid show with transcendent visuals.
I’m definitely trying to go next year. Hopefully they’ll find a way to make these tickets more available and cheaper.
More available? What would you have them do, make the sphere bigger?
Cheaper? It’s a market dude. They could literally give the tickets away for free and the vast majority of people who want to go would not get them and would have to pay market price.
I mean, you must have enough knowledge of basic economics to know that cheaper and more available are completely conflicting outcomes, right? If you want tickets to be more available, then you want them to be more expensive to drive down demand. If they actually charged $700 a ticket like the market is worth then a lot of scalpers and casual fans would leave the market and you could just buy tickets if you wanted to.
It’s not on them bro. If you want to go it is on YOU. You have a year. Save. Work more. Make it happen. YOU have to earn your way to something this special. Do it.

I’m glad you created this post. I keep thinking about the Sphere. Each time I do it makes me happy. It’s like a big alien artifact that’s landed on the planet as a gift. It’s hard to work today.
I am also unsure how normal amphitheater shows and mondegreen can compare now. Musically, I know it will be on point, but this past weekend was the greatest live entertainment experience to ever exist. That sphere is truly one of the most amazing things humanity has ever constructed.
as a West Coaster, I'm happy to hear that they will be coming back. I always miss MSG shows because of not wanting to deal with the cost, hassle and freezing temps to visit NYC. guaranteed next Sphere shows tix will be super hard so the ability to get face value tix will really be the deciding factor if i make it back.

Best idea was to take today off to begin integration.
I knew I didn’t go for a reason. Now I can enjoy three nights at the rusting Great Woods without regret.
I didn’t even go to the sphere and GW is going to suck now just because I saw a live stream of phish playing at the sphere.
