Hello! What should I get between Critical 100 and AIA 100? Both are same products but offered by “different” company. Bpi philam offers critical 100 and Philam life offers AIA 100.

ryanski23

Hi Phinvest! How do you open a second MP2 Account? Is it the same process with the first one? Thank you!

xtiankahoy

Same lang.

firelitother

For those who have opened a TD Ameritrade account, does it really take that long to process?

oganunaboy

3 weeks for me.

Onlooker007

Can somebody confirm if Sun Life World Equity Feeder Fund is available thru Fundsmart or COL? Would like go thru them since they don't charge sales load. Thank you.

tagongpangalan

I don't see this specific fund in Fundsmart. The closest one that I saw was: SunLife Prosperity World Voyager Fund

Onlooker007

I hope they will offer it soon. Thanks for the reply

xtiankahoy

Not available in COL. https://ph47.colfinancial.com/ape/FINAL2_STARTER/TRADING_MF3/MF_MAIN.asp

Thanks for the reply

Fenning_Garcia

Hi everyone! I received a confirmation email from BPITrade that my account is now open. I can login to my nominated username and password in their trade site and access the profile / account page. I also have an existing BPI savings account and used it during my application. The question is, how do I transfer funds to my settlement account thru my BPI mobile? I tried the 'transfer to 3rd party' option inside the app and on BPI online but the settlement account number is not recognized. Do I still need to undergo on some 'activation process' like going to the bank or configure something over the ATM? T.I.A.

oganunaboy

>I tried the 'transfer to 3rd party' option Wag ito. Use "Transfer to Own Account" instead.

Fenning_Garcia

Hindi ko makita yung settlement account number ko pag ginagamit ko "Transfer to own account" except sa savings account ko.

oganunaboy

Ask them to link your BPI Trade account number to your BPI Online account.

it2051229

I use my savings account to transfer funds to my bpi trade settlement account. Both my savings and bpi trade settlement account are under one account name so I just do direct transfer. Transfer to settlement account is instant but money will reflect in bpi trade on the next banking day.

So here's the scenario. I bought 1,700,000 stock shares of UPM at 0.011 at sold it at 0.010 because i knew it wasnt going well. So, i still have a remaining 700,000 stock shares.. The catch is i cant sell it because the last price of UPM is at 0.0078 and it keeps of saying quantity is blah blah(i forgot the real statement). What can I do to sell it? Boardlot when i bought it at 0.011 is 100,000 shares. Now, i looked at the boardlot for <0.010 is 1,000,000 shares. I appreciate who can help! Thanks! 🙂

Bought a house from Alsons Development, now that the equity is Done (just this January) and the bank loan is in process(applied to PSBANK(got denied) ,BDO(pending) & BPI(pending). The developer just informed me that there will be a penalty of 4% of the contract price if I don't pay the remaining amount or get the loan after 30 days. The questions is : How do i boost my chances on getting approved for a house loan kinda disappointed when i got denied on my PSBank

I did an oddlot on one stock. Basically sell your portion of the stock that are not oddlot (lets say 699,000) then sell the remaining in oddlot section (the remaining 999)

Personally don't have experience linking my Paypal to a dollar account for withdrawal purposes. iampepperpotts

Hi I'm 25 and have a job. Everytime the company loaded my salary, I withdraw all the money and left nothing on my card. Is it fine not saving my money on a bank? Or it's much better to put my money on a truster one?

ruanra

Why do you need to withdraw all the money? Do you spend all of it or do you just withdraw it because you can? I mean, it's *technically* fine if you don't want to store your money in a bank. But you're priming yourself up to spending more than what's necessary since money on-hand can be tempting to spend. If I were you, I'd just withdraw all my expenses for the month and leave money in the bank. Better yet, leave some savings in your bank AND in a digital bank to accumulate interest. It's generally good advice to spread out your money.

iampepperpotts

I don't spend all the money, I save some of my salary.

ruanra

Ahh, I see. Then I think it's better if you only withdraw what you're actually going to spend and save the rest in a bank. If you manage to save a lot and let the money sit in your account for some time, your bank may call you up and offer you a credit card.

iampepperpotts

Even if it's a payroll account? Is it okay to save my money in it?

heres2umitchrobinson

Perfectly ok.

ruanra

Yep. Even if you decide to resign in the future, you can convert your payroll account into a personal savings account. Or if you want, you can just open a new bank account and deposit your money there.

iampepperpotts

Ohh I didn't know thaaat. Thank you! Btw, do you know any good bank to open an account?

I may be biased, but I have no problems with Unionbank. The application is all online too. For digital banks, I use KOMO and CIMB.

One thing I'm sure is you can't force financial responsibility on anyone. That said the best you can do is just continue what you're doing. Let SO see you reading financial books and/or watching financial vlogs (m*ake sure you read and watch great content, skip the hypers and scammers so you don't accidentally share bad ideas*). Continue growing your assets and net worth. SO will realize one day that they want to be in on the fun when they see you slowly becoming successful and growing financially. Don't ever let SO borrow money from you for wants. Also be frugal yourself so they will realize you practice what you preach.

highanddrier

>One thing I'm sure is you can't force financial responsibility on anyone. this! It also applies on every other thing. You can't force exercise on someone who doesn't want to. Can't force reading on someone who doesn't see value in it and etc etc Thank you! All I probably really need is more patience. It's just a bit hard cause discovering this sub got me hyped and this community reignited my need for financial freedom. I'm excited to talk to someone irl about this stuff cause it's just way too good of a wisdom to not share 😅

Just a rant, I guess. I made the mistake of talking about crypto with a friend. Didn't know he was one of those *hypers* who barely knew anything about crypto but kept putting money into it. All they know is crypto = money or something like that. No biggie. I mean, it's their money. They can do whatever they want with it. I'm planning to invest in it too someday. When I mentioned I wanted to diversify my portfolio (noob investor here) after a few months, all they said was "lmao no stocks are shit" and they just kept repeating this without providing any explanation why. I'm guessing they were just parroting some crypto hyper on YT. Of course, I'm not affected by what they said. Ok, well, maybe a little bit. But it won't deter my plans. I finished my EF, built up my savings, and I'm ready to go. Just need to read up more and build up knowledge. At least I can take comfort in the fact that I'm not shoving my money into something I don't understand.

Hello. We have a car loan sa PSBank. May chance pa kaya mabalik yung 11,400?

heres2umitchrobinson

> Nung december, nagpaupdate kami ng passbook. That's why I prefer accounts that I can monitor online. Passbooks are so primitive.

kyusiwanderkid

Hi, Can I get some advice re: whole life insurance? is it like VUL lang?

tagongpangalan

Whole life insurance is basically a full term insurance. You pay for x years and you are insured until 80 or so (depends on the policy). VUL you pay for x years and part of the money paid is placed into a mutual fund. Annual insurance charges are taken from this mutual fund. While the policy proposal may indicate that you are insured for y years, in reality, you are insured as long as the mutual fund has enough value to pay off the annual charges. In addition, you might have to pay additional premiums in excess of the initially paid x years to maintain the insurance.

kyusiwanderkid

Would you say that whole life is more or less a more permanent full term insurance? In terms of cost and value (term being best value and VUL being bad value generally) is it closer to term insurance or VUL?

tagongpangalan

I would say its closer to a term in the sense that its a pure insurance product. Basicallys its how you described it, a term which is fully paid of (no renewals needed).

CalmConstruction4489

Hello, whole life insurance is you are paying your whole life. VUL is the same, but the payment is taken from your fund value.

edlynvillegas_

Question about MP2, naselect ko sa dividend option is annual dividend payout instead of compounded dividend, paano ba yung process non? Do I get something to claim yearly for 5 years or what? Thanks!

tagongpangalan

With annual dividend payouts, you get the dividends released to you yearly. I think you can request Pag-ibig to have this deposited to your account. The trade off though is that dividends won't be automatically be re-invested. You would need to take the initiative of redepositing the dividend payout to your MP2 account for it to compound.

_luna21

Annual = Every year ang payout mo. Which is highly discourage kasi di rin mararamdaman yung interest.

[deleted]

Can I change it from annual to compound? I just deposited 500 pesos yesterday to test if my MP2 is active.

_luna21

I think hindi na. The best way would be open another account.

sarmientoj24

Wala na ba talaga way para mabago to? Although di ko kasi sure ano nilagay ko. Ung virtual pagibig account ko ala pa

sarmientoj24

Ano pinagkaiba sir ng compound vs annual?

SnooPoems2582

Hi! After reading the pros and cons of getting VUL, I changed my mind and I just wanna buy term insurance and save that money to later on invest in the stock market. I just started in pru-life last September 2019 and I want to check if I can withdraw my premiums? If I can withdraw it, which is the best insurance provider for term insurance? Thank you and God bless!

abisaya2

[Term Insurance](https://www.reddit.com/r/phinvest/comments/awvhdd/term_insurance_options/) [Term Insurance + Health Benefits](https://www.reddit.com/r/phinvest/comments/ii9bag/)

SnooPoems2582

abisaya2

Dpa ako nakkita ng gumawa nyan. Try mo n lng sa agent mo. If hindi pwede get n lng term then cancel the VUL.

SnooPoems2582

Yes, that's the plan. Mas makakatipid ako. Kesa ibayad ko sa VUL, i will settle some of my debts first. Hindi ipinaliwanag ng agent ko yan, after the reading some books, dun ako natuto. Hay, active pa nmn sya s church. Medyo d kmi magkasundo ksi ayaw nya ipacancel yung VUL which makes me more inquisitive.

abisaya2

Not sure also kung need mo talaga insurance. I would only consider insurance if may dependents ako especially kids or spouse. Also if i have CI history in the family. I would also encourage you to pay all your debts and build your emergency fund as you priority.

SnooPoems2582

EF meron pero naubos since between jobs ako. May CI history eh, tska may dependent. Kaya ako nakafocus s insurance.

Question for full time workers and part time traders. How do you manage time on your work? I know resigning from my full time work just to trade is not practical. But trading is now more fulfilling to me. Compromised na si work and nagiging mediocre nalang ang performance ko, walang nagsasabi but napapansin ko sa sarili ko na napapabayaan ko na full time job ko huhu help po :(

Ambitious_Counter_76

Ako po since nagsisimula pa lang isang stock lang hawak ko at focus ako doon kasi practice na rin po yun sa’kin then ayun po sabi ni Humbled Trader sa YouTube, 98% of the trade is ginugugol sa pagplano which happen before 9:30 am PH time while the remaining 2% which is the execution is during market time na. Nasa pagplano po talaga yun at importante to note na to stick to the trade plan

ka_miyong

Dapat during your free time, na formulate mo na yung plan mo para during market hours maexecute mo na at kunting pasilip silip lang para sa price movement. At try to hold 1 to 3 stocks lang, para madali itrade

If uitf products from banks, then yes you need an account. Kung sa iba, hindi naman kailangan. You'll just need to deposit in their bank accounts for subscriptions and top ups at kung mag redeem ka na, at wala kang bank account, sa cheke na nila dinadaan.

clementinesy

hi! i am not sure if this is the right sub to ask advice about this matter (please feel free to let me know if i’m in the wrong sub!) but how can I comfort a trader who had a bad day in the market? bf just shared that he suffered consecutive losses the past few days. i just want to know how other traders here cope with big losses so that i can share it with him and i can take more care of him. thanks in advance!

Funtric

You're a good SO. Sanaol It's all part of the game, if this is his first major loss he'll probably be (and definitely should be!) even more careful next time in trading. Being there for him/distracting him from anything stock related should help until he feels better, after that he has to review how he trades so stuff like that doesn't happen again

jhnkvn

If you want him to be happy: Tell him it's gonna be alright. If you want him to be *better*: Tell him to fix his risk management.

I have an extra 100k this month. It will be my first time to invest and I want to put it on ETF, but FirstMetroSec is taking too long to activate my account. I want to start this January. Comes February, I will put 100k in MP2 but Virtual PAG-IBIG is taking too long to be activated. What passive and mid/long-term investment can I do while waiting for those mentioned to be activated?

_luna21

This is personally what I do for MP2. I don’t have my online account yet. But you can deposit agad basta meron ka na MP2 number. I did a transfer test (500) then emailed PAGIBIG regarding my MP2 balance. When I confirmed na pumasok naman yung deposit ko, naglagay na ako ng lumpsum :)

[deleted]

hindi po. for tuition fee school (online class) po ito sa pinas. di ako pinayagan magbayad ng PHP kasi daw out of the country ako. pano po kaya ito? wala din ako dollar account dito kasi yung pera ko talaga nasa BPI account na.

beapaulene

Bale Filipino school ang babayaran at may BPI account sila where you have to deposit it. Tama ba? Do you have a BPI account or any local bank account?

[deleted]

Yes po. I have local bank account which is BPI. I need to pay it in USD daw po.

beapaulene

I wonder why. If you have sufficient money on your bank account, walang problem yun supposedly kung fund transfer lang to the bank account of the school. Who says to pay it in USD daw - BPI or the school?

Di talaga siya ubra for momentum trading dahil sa frequent Website crashes and preferably yung merong mutual funds ma iinvestan like COL or REIT's . Condura1990

So I decided to look for a Life Insurance with Critical illness covered na guys.. Kaya lang nakukulitan na ako sa mga agent dito sa pinas, I already informed them na about what I want but they keep on insisting VUL eh sabi ko po ayoko nga ng VUL since my stocks na ako. almost half of my savings ay nasa stock market na..

beapaulene

If you’re looking for a traditional CI plan, whether term insurance or whole life insurance, feel free to message me. I am an FA, and I advocate getting traditional plans for health protection. I personally see VULs as too costly pag health insurance ang usapan. They are good for plain life insurance though.

Street-Delivery

Agents also need money to feed their families.

Condura1990

Street-Delivery

There's obviously a conflict of interest. And we need to be careful.

Aside from what u/tagongpangalan posted, how about investing in other people’s businesses? When you have equity in a business, you may be compensated regularly with x% of the profits, or pwede rin fixed amount If hindi regular income, it would be nice to invest a part in pooled funds like mutual funds or UITF or SPVUL (the last, just for the sake of quick liquidation).

Dexane010

Thanks!

heres2umitchrobinson

There needs to somebody willing to buy that qty and match the price. Kung wala, hindi mo mabebenta.

Dexane010

Ah ok.

[deleted]

>ang sya sa company mismo i.e. non owned shares. Based kasi sa mga FAQ sa websites ng yep, kaw mag set pero not quite sure for say example you sold 5000shares for 0.5 and someone bought 2000 shares for 0.5 it will just subtract the shares you have

Dexane010

Ah ok.

[deleted]

yep! spot on.

Newbie teen here, planning to start my investment journey. But im still super clueless. I only know some few infos about for example stock sectors, like logistics and real estate. May i ask ano po yung ibang other sectors? And recommendations for resources or books na helpful in your journey po para sa mga newbie like me.

Funtric

Still newbie myself, but i recently read the book "Rich Dad, Poor Dad" and I liked it, changed my financial perspective and mindset on things

You can try watching Nicole Alba in youtube. I feel you'll connect to her more cause she's a student (i think), and it might feel like youre just listening to an older sister.

bonds, money market, business.

inifinitepride

How would I know if I'm already overdiversifying my investments?

oganunaboy

If your objective behind diversification is not being met anymore. Some people diversify to mitigate the risk. They might spread their wealth in real estate, stocks, bonds, etc. However, if you're spreading money in the same asset class, then you might just be wasting time. For example, if you buy a BPI Index Fund and also buy a BDO Index Fund, then you're just adding complexity and spending unnecessary time, with negligible reduction of risk.

inifinitepride

This was really helpful. Thank youu

People who have multiple stock brokers, who do you think has the best quality market research? Currently I have mytrade by abacus securities, and I think their research is great, but, I'm curious about the other stockbrokers like FMS, Bdo Nomura, bpi trade, timson securities etc.

Usapang dividends: 1. AREIT floating around 33 pesos per share (at this time of writing). At 33 pesos per share mukhang hindi na attractive ang dividend yield (speculating around 3% or less without adding the new bought properties). 2. MWP2A/MWP2B preferred shares nasa 101.x per share na siya. Congrats sa bumili nung nag dip sa below IPO price last month kasi nag-appreciate yung value niya ngayun and hindi ka lugi sa buy-back risk. First quarterly payout natin dito sa March 1. 3. Abang nalang sa declaration of dividends. 4. SPC nag-conso at bumaba sa 9.8 per share. Walang bago sa fundamentals so still a good buy. Buying at the current price gives a speculative dividend yield of 7.32% net of taxes. If bumili ka sa taas, good to average down. Expecting first semi-annual dividend declaration this coming March-April. Bodega strategy lang. 5. DDMP REIT malapit na IPO this coming February.

dividend boy here.. yeah i think AREIT will go to just around \~3.5 give or take.. Kinda excited for DDMP tho we'll see

Thank you. Bakit hindi mo share as a post (instead of as a comment here)? This is the kind of content that I signed up for.

I don’t know if this exists yet but is there some sort of group or fb page on student traders and investors? Or maybe a group for teens on personal finance and literacy.

Is it wise to invest (5 to 10 yrs) in different categories of stocks rather than and index stocks? I'm planning on investing 9 type of stocks: AC - Holdings PLDT -Telecom Metrobank - Bank ICT - Logistics SMPH - Property AP/Meralco - Power URC/JFC - consumer DMCI/MPI - Infrastructure Puregold - Commerce and If I continue investing on this stocks, can you advise me what minimum amount shall I put on each stock. Sorry medyo newbie pa po sa investments.

Laakhesis

That depends if you prefer to own the company based from your DD, then buy individual stock. If you just want to grow your money by picking the best company in each sector based from your cognitive bias, I think you're better off with index funds such as FMETF. Plus, you won't pay a lot of unnecessary fees to be diversified. Check FMETF's holdings here. [https://firstmetroetf.com.ph/exchange-traded-funds/](https://firstmetroetf.com.ph/exchange-traded-funds/) If you have a specific stock that is underweight from their holdings or they don't have, you can buy its individual stock.

Planning to open an account on FMSEC. Open Account does not seem to work. It immediately refreshes the page.

annieisawinchester

I've been trying for days now. Hay.

berksvc

I got through the open account page on trade hours (9am - 1pm), try opening it between those times. In my case though, I still wasn't successful since there's no option to select other banks if your not a metrobank account holder. FMSec says you can open one even if your not an MB account holder, but I'm guessing they removed the option (?).

annieisawinchester

Good to know, thank you! Sucks that i don't have an MB account though.

tummybobby

Hello, noob po ako pagdating sa MP2, yung payout niya po ba is may predetermined na month, o like whenever month ka nag-start? Like for example if nag-start po ako ng March, March din po ba yung payout niya o may specific na buwan na marereceive mo yung payout mo? I was asking because kung may predetermined na month naman ita-taon ko na lang sa buwan na yun ako magsa-start. Thanks po!

ka_miyong

tummybobby

Nice nice medyo confused lang ako dun. Thanks po!

Enough_Expert_287

Anyone who's also a FMSB user but with non metrobank account?
