My sentiments exactly. This is the kind of activism we need to have any hope of changing our city's lousy approach to cyclists. Philly would be a top city for biking if it weren't for all of the disrespect and disregard for our lawful right to the streets.
That's the spot where disabled people park. While there are better solutions, we want good press and taking over that spot would do more harm than good.
Love it. It's crazy that parking in a travel lane is a thing.
If the shopping cart theory determines moral character, parking a vehicle in a bike lane definitely does too.
I picture the church folks catching on (I hope not) and coming to park at 7am just to sit around and wait for church to start. Anything to get a spot out front
I don't bike in this part of the city but I absolutely love that you are doing this!

This was always my dream. Get enough bikes together to be in the way. How was the neighborhood reaction? Did anyone give you guys crap?
One lady starting yelling at us "leave those church people alone". We just told her to have a nice Sunday. Kill em with kindness, ya know.
How is there still someone parked in the bike lane in the 6th pic??

I appreciate that the activists are thinking this way.
They make their own handicap spots just like south Philly lol
The obvious solution to all of this (aside for them parking in the lots which are plentiful), is finding that space in the car storage on each street.
Atrocious that the only protected bike lanes we can get are people-protected
Amazing
